The new store is very spacious and well designed with natural wood displays and nice lighting. The clothing tends to be in the preppy outdoor vein with good selections of semi-expensive brands and extensive menswear and women's sections. In the back of the store is whole room devoted to luggage and footwear, and you'll also find everything from sunglasses to candles in other parts of the store. One of my favorite touches was the cute clubhouse style lounge for kids to watch TV while parents shop. And there's even a built-in bar in another section for events. The employees are friendly, everything is clean and new, and it's a nice place to shop if you want to browse and see how things fit.

Then I proceeded to get into my car about to leave then noticed on the receipt the shirt was purchased less than 2 weeks ago so I went back in to let her know then she changed the story and said that the shirt was purchased on clearance so it wouldn't be able to be exchanged. For a small business it's insane to have such strict policies that leave customers with clothes they hate or that don't fit. Their sub par Yelp rating is spot on with how they run their business. Way too much shopping in Westlake to deal with this kind of tomfoolery.

For example, during their Margarita sale some items sell for 70-75% off. When they were located on 6th Street, they used to serve margaritas during their margarita sales. Given that my shopping love language is sales and deep discounts, over the years I have found some incredible deals. As an example, a few years back, you could purchased a pair of shoes at 80% off during an end of season sale. Service is what sets Julian Gold apart from most boutiques. The sales representatives go out of their way to get to know you personally. Julian Gold has stores located in San Antonio and Corpus Christi, TX. They will happily transfer items in those stores to Austin, TX, if you make that request. In fact, when we lived Washington state, I visited the store every 1-2 years, but when I returned to Austin, they always greeted me warmly and by name.

Overall solid shopping experience and good value considering other cashmere brands are on the higher price points. It's nice to own various cashmere pieces from good value buys to high end luxury.
