I had dinner at the beehive with a buddy and have to say that this place is the best. From the server/hostest to the food and music was impeccable. Haley was our waitress and she pointed out the details of the menue that really helped us pick from the overwhelming selection of unique delectable dishes and libations. Music was perfect jam mix of blues and jazz. Each musicion was a master at their craft. Food was perfect. And we were very pleased with the arrangement if beers on tap. One of the cutest stores I bought me a lovely flowy dress so amazing. The one thing that stands out is the nicest store attendance ate remarkable. They know what colors and outfits you look good in . I am so pleased with my purchase that I am coming in yo dhop till I drop. Every item hete is reasonably priced and up my alley. Dont be shy see what I found .....gifts for your girlfriend, wife ect. Cute store, employees need to find another career path as they aren't doing store any favors. With 13 mins to close I overheard them tell one customer they were closing and couldn't find another size for her but to come back the next day, she was already in the dressing room! As I was leaving another person walked in the door with 10 minutes till close where the salesperson said they were closing, the customer knowing how to read a watch said, you have over 10 minutes to which the sales person said oh well we are closing for this employee event thing (not true as her stories between customers starting getting confused). The customer said well I'll be quick I just need to look at the jewelry. If I owned this store I wouldn't want this type of employee working for me, closing early, turning away customers, being put out by size requests and I just watched them high tail it out of the store exactly at 6, no employee event taking place apparently. Upon first entering the store, I thought..."Oops, boutique... too expensive". My daughter and I were on a "Back to School Mission" and I didn't have time to waste politely looking around before hightailing it out of there so when the clerk asked me if we were looking for anything in particular, I just replied that we were back to school shopping and didn't think they fit our budget. She assured me they did. I figured she thought I was her typical Westlake shopper so I told her we weren't looking to spend big bucks, just needed a first day of school dress. Luckily, she convinced me to stay. WOW! Beehive will most definitely be my FIRST stop from now on. It is hard to believe that a store this cute, with inventory this unique and stylish is actually affordable (like Forever 21 affordable...crazy!) The majority of dresses we bought (notice we're now talking plural dresses) were about $38. Many of them look like they belong in some sort of style magazine and were my daughter a little older, perhaps college-aged, we could have really done some damage. (Some of it was just too sophisticated or strapless which doesn't work for her age bracket.) Note: There are higher price-ranged items as well. Owner Claire Fields was waiting on us today (as was Zulu the friendly dog) and she was so attentive and thoughtful in helping us as well as everyone in the store; pulling clothes, making suggestions, offering a cold beverage. Then top it all off with purchases being swaddled in tissue and put into the cutest to go bag you have ever seen. Bravo! LOTS of dresses, lots of UT orange tops, handbags & jewelry. I have a love/hate relationship with this place. They have good quality jewelry for the price and cute accessories in general. The clothes have slowly gone down hill, at least in my opinion. They are a bit more for the older or alternative crowds. I get that it is a boutique and they have limited stock, but good luck finding a small in anything. Walked in and left within 5 minutes. Quality of clothing good, up-to-date styles in a variety of fabrics for teenagers/twenty year olds of which I am not. Not one item caught my attention as most of clothing was more appropriate for weekend/club wear due to more revealing nature. I shop all types of boutiques consistently and my rating is based on the lack of options for weekend/causal clothing that was not so revealing. I loved my shopping experience at Beehive! Lots of cute, trendy clothes. Similar to Francesca's, or another mid-priced boutique. The sales associates were very sweet and there had a wide range of items. I was on the hunt for a dress for a specific occasion, and Beehive was able to provide me with several options. I can't wait to go back to browse for fun, as there were a lot of really cute items that I wanted to try on. The jewelry was really cute too! Having lived in several big and trendy cities (NYC, Sydney, Melbourne, etc.), I have always loved to shop at small, local boutiques that carry unique clothes. Out of all the boutiques at which I've shopped, Beehive is one of my absolute favorites. They carry trendy clothes that range in price ($20 tee to 100+ dresses); however, unlike other affordable shops, their clothes are well-made, durable, and never look cheap. Additionally, they carry a range of items from everyday pieces to more eccentric, trendy clothing-- perfect for anything you're looking for! The staff are all very trendy and willing to help you fit outfits together as well as provide suggestions (that actually work, not just the most expensive thing in the store). This is my favorite store in Austin. I try to stop in a couple times a month just to see what's new and I'm always greeted right away. I mostly buy accessories from Beehive but have bought a lot of clothes from here as gifts and whatnot. I'm addicted to buying sunglasses and Beehive ALWAYS has the sassiest sunglasses at the best prices ever. I came accross Beehive about a month after it opened because a friend, who has similar style to mine, recommended it. I must say, what a fabulous reccomendation! The clothing is beautiful and I always go into the dressing room with a massive armful of clothes. They have clothing, purses and jewelry for every style and it is all pretty well priced. There are some pricier items, but many of the items lie in the 30-60 dollar range. The only reason that i gave it four stars instead of five is because the quality is not as good as i would expect. Ive had a bracelet and a top break or fall apart in a few days. However, I have also bought many other items that are still going strong. So, just make sure that the quality is good before you buy. Otherwise, it is one of my favorite austin shopping places. read more

Not a happy camper. I love this store because of the cute clothes that are different, but still in style. I have been coming here for I don't know how long, but I have come across something that has upset me. I got a top at Forever 21 and the brand is Cotton Candy LA. I was shocked to see such a cute top at F21 and bought it for the price of $27.50. When I went to Beehive to find the EXACT SAME top and brand but only to see that the price was Outrageously marked up and it was $40. My friend had bought the same top in a different color and said she paid around $50. I am just upset because we shop at a local boutique for a reason, which is To find unique clothing and not clothing that can be bought at F21 for a lower price. Shame on y'all for over charging us. And shame on me for spending my money here when I can find this brand at F21 for less. Hope to see some price changes, pretty sure y'all used to have decent pricing. read more

What a great addition to the Austin shopping scene! While I consider myself quite the clothes horse, I generally find myself avoiding boutiques in favor of bigger stores because I find the sales associates are usually snobby and unattentive unless I am prepared to max out my credit card and the clothes are unorginally and can be found onsale at a department store long after they are still in the shop window at most boutiques. However, at Beehive, not only will you find the adorable trendy clothes and an owner who is truly passionate about making women look their very best, but the prices are recessionista friendly and you feel like a million bucks when you leave. In this economy who in good faith can afford to break the bank on a trendy outfit? Truly, I might never shop anywhere again. Whenever I wear one of my Beehive finds (which I must admit is frequently as I think I might be addicted to the store), I receive tons of compliments thanks to Claire's unique eye for beautiful clothes and discerning sense of style. Beehive refelcts exactly what the Austin shopping scene was missing, and I am so thankful owner Claire Fields took a chance to fill that void!
