I just had the most wonderful shopping experience at Spring Frost Boutique. I popped in to take a look about 45 minutes before posted store closing hours, however another shopper and I stayed until 90 minutes post close, due to such amazing support from the sweet owner, Spring and her in house alteration lady, Elizabeth. Spring was so gracious about staying open late to give myself and the other shopper time to try on a variety of items and get measured for fit. Spring is very knowledgeable about her brands and their sizing, and has very high quality offerings including brands from Europe. This place is such a cool little neighborhood boutique that is great to go to when you aren't totally sure what you're looking for, and have some time to browse. The staff there is extremely helpful. I went in looking for a casual cocktail dress for an event and they pulled things for me to try on and talked me through what would be fun. I'm glad they did, because the things I tried I wouldn't have gravitated to in the first place - some were amazing fits and I had a hard time choosing just one dress. Their price range is decent and mid-range, but you can definitely tell your salesperson your budget and they'll make suggestions within the range. I love how they organize the store! The clothes are not the trendiest, and they cater more to women in their thirties and up. The people here are friendly and very helpful. Cute stuff/weird pricing. I thought the store was upscale resell so I was confused at the pricing and that everything had original tags. Turns out the store sells a mix of last seasons [new] styles and new... So while there and searching the labels to understand what was going on I was shocked to see the price differences. I love to support a local business and yet, not enough to pay $200+ more than what it's going for on Nordstrom. The staff are great, but the pricing is bonkers. I tried on a ballgown that was being sold for $695 there that was on sale online for $300 (original price from the designer $550) some jeans (that retail new for $130 currently on sale by the designer for $30) that were for sale at Spring Frost for $140, and a shirt that was marked $192 (that the designer and other outlets sell new/in season for $170 that I could have purchased online/on sale $90 that same day). I've been struggling with the decision to post this because it is a service to have local store easily accessible and supporting locals but have ultimately decided it's not worth it for those prices. Bought a dress anyways because everything was very cute and they were helpful but hope the owner sees this and rethinks their pricing structure: I'm willing to pay more to support local knowing you have rent or a mortgage and staff to pay but I also know you bought wholesale and discount for "last season". Spring, your store is egregiously overpriced. read more

I will be coming here again and again! I think it's one of those hidden gems. I looked at the reviews on Yelp before, and then I was in the area and decided to stop in because of the shoes & clothing out front. The shoes on clearance were $25 each or you could get 3 pairs for $60. Best deal ever! Well, I found my dream shoes and the spotlight was right on them. I had found these Diane Von Furstenberg 5" platform sandals with dustbag. The retail was $298 which was awesome to get them 91% off. If I had more money to spend, I would have probably paid for 3 pairs of shoes, but was so happy with just the DVFs. Some items are pricey but you have to know that they're still boutique and designer items. You're still getting a deal if you're wanting to spend on good quality. I saw a lot of items on their sale price that were still over 50% off. They had See by Chloe which you can't get at Nordstrom that cheap. Also, in the back were more shoes for $35 a pair. You probably just need to catch a good sale here if you don't want to spend a lot. From the previous review, I didn't get the "middle age vibe." I am 28 years old and my style varies and I just wear what makes me feel good. I saw quite a few dresses that I would have bought for work or cocktail hour. read more

Great place for discounted designer shoes and clothes! I'd not bothered stopping by here, despite living nearby, because I assumed this was going to be an overcrowded, junky shop full of Calvin Klein castoffs, a la an independently owned T J Maxx. But no! It's actually home to a wide range of genuine designer shoes and a slightly smaller selection of clothing. Prices are a bit high for my blood (I am NOT a designer shopper by nature), but you can get shoes starting at $39 for the less interesting stuff. The owner and the only other person in the store when I visited was nice (he complimented my shoes effusively, probably not guessing they were from Payless) and knew when to drop back so I could browse. I fell for a pair of Frye buckle-covered slip-ons (about $100, on the 65% off table --most merchandise is 65 or 75 percent off the original price), but the only pair in stock was a size 10, far too large for my size 7 1/2 feet. That's the one downside to this place for fashion lovers -- they get their merchandise cast-off from Tootsie's in Houston, so the size selection is seriously limited. Still, it's worth dropping in! read more

Some of the best days of my life happen purely by accident, and finding Designer Clearance House might fall into one of those top-tiered days. Yes, I'm easily excitable, but when a shoe addict stumbles upon a shop selling cheap-er designer shoes, she, and her wallet, smile widely and immediately park the damned car! My heart fluttered just a tad when I locked my door and approached this little storefront while laying eyes on several tables of $20 beauties displayed on the sidewalk. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything outside that would fit this size 91/2. Sigh. Inside, however, would prove to be a bejeweled mine. The store is set up by price: room one $39, room two $59, and along the back wall 65% off retail. Oh yeah. And I found a nautical Cole Haan wedge in the $39 room, a Donald Pliner pump in room 2, and an independent New York designer's to-die-for bejeweled sandal on the back wall. Mutherload. Paying off credit cards and downing my debt during these here harsh economic times has admittedly been a big pain in my ass. But at least now I can hand over real cash to a local merchant and leave guilt-free and with happier feet. read more

Named for the owner by the same name, Spring Frost is not just an exceptional resource for fashion fans on a lonestar budget, but also so dang user-friendly. The store seems to be run on a sort of overstock.com platform- except in real-life format where one can try things on. Some items are from last season, some are even over-orders from current seasons! What! I don't know how she does it, but I'm so glad she does. Spring remembered who I was (and what I do for a living!) when I came in for the second time, months after my first visit. Also, let me say, I was there on that second visit after having recommended the place to a friend earlier in the day who had been, then texted immediately that a tent sale was happening. I went over quick as a bunny, amassed a mountain of incredible finds, left with a new designer wardrobe all for the equivalent of the original price of the pair of jeans I had in the pile. $300 jeans? What can I say? Spring Frost is the best. I live nearby this fantastic little designer clearance house, so I'm able to stop in regularly. That's the best way to find amazing deals at this shop- come by on a regular basis. They're always getting new merchandise, and marking down older merchandise beyond their already amazing 60+% off retail. They carry designer brands straight out of Saks, Neimans, etc. Jessica is amazing- she's super friendly and makes you feel right at home. She remembers my name and shoe size, so when I walk in she immediately has ideas for me, but not in a pushy way, more like shopping with a friend. On one of those rare times when my husband went shopping with me, the Spring Frost ladies handed him a glass of wine within steps after coming through the front door. He could have stayed all afternoon. Love the fact that I am one of those rare women who do not like to shop so Frost and her wonderful staff do the shopping for me. I purchased 2 evening gowns on the first trip and when I came back the following week, Frost had another selection of outfits for me to try on. She figured out my style, sizing and colors. This place is cool. The owner was very helpful with suggestions, and very knowledgable about the desingers. I have my heart set on a killer pair of Ruthie Davis black pumps.. The clothing selection was sparse but carefully selected. For bargain shoppers, there is a $20 shoe table outside with lots of cute sandals, and a good selection of $59 shoes. The clothin sale rack was pretty good for a place that specializes in shoes. I agree with Jamie that this place is not just another Ross/TJMaxx. The best part about my experience here was Lynn, who was amazing from the minute I walked in the door. I had been searched all over town for something nice to wear for graduation but everything seemed to either be for teenagers, corporate office workers, or suburban moms. Not the case here! I found a few good options before going with a jumpsuit that was modern and classy, with just enough edge to keep it young. The women working there were also great! Super helpful if I needed a second opinion. I noticed the seam at the hip of the jumpsuit was coming loose. Before I even mentioned it to them, they spotted it and brought it up. I was surprised by how easy it was to find clothes due to the way the store is set-up; the clothes are separated by size and color. The employees are stylist and know exactly what they're talking about. Excellent boutique--not stuffy or snooty, but with good, quality clothes and shoes, plus accessories at a reasonable price range. The owner, Spring, and staff (Aiyesha, Julia, everyone) make you feel welcome and tended to without smothering, and they are geniuses at suggesting colors and styles that will suit you. I am SO over shopping, but I love this place; they make it easy and dare I say fun. Like having your own personal shoppers who get you--and are honest: As I stood at the register ready to buy a pair of silver heels (and did I mention they carry plenty of shoes in my hard-to-find size?), Spring suggested a rose-gold color instead that she thought might suit my wardrobe and coloring better, then led me around the store so we could see which went best with the most colors I might have in my closet.
