So many treasures within
Beverly M.

Don't tell a soul. If you have (tons) more style than moola... this is ground zero for vintage clothing with panache. Real vintage and one-of-a-kind modified pieces that are ahhhmazing. An Austin *treasure.*

Rad vintage dress from Blackfeather.

Alright, so it took me about six years to return to this place because I had some major PTSD from…read morean employee (who still happens to work here unfortunately). However, this time was a lot different and I was able to find the perfect gifts for my friend's birthday as well as fun items for myself. It seems like the selection has remained the same although Atown is keeping up with current and modern trends. For example, there were a lot of ICE based items tucked away as well as current celebrity crushes who are on everybody's minds. The coolest thing I found was a James Talarico candle but other than that, a lot of the items that were for sale were pretty kitschy and I believe they are the same wholesale items I have seen before. I must shoutout the incredibly helpful service from Audrey who went above and beyond to help me find items for my friend's birthday. She was super sweet, and I would've been wandering around the store aimlessly if it wasn't for her direction. Additionally, she even came up with combination gift ideas which was pretty sick. Atown is lucky to have her! I think my PTSD is no longer because of her assistance. Great store, unfortunately high prices. However, no one does it like Atown!

There are 3 or 4 separate areas you can visit and they have things from locally made earrings and art to coasters, desk plates, rubber ducks of famous people, religious candles with random famous people, funny socks, clothes, and so much more. The staff is friendly and outgoing, they even had a woman at the door greeting you and offering you a hand basket if you wanted or needed one. There were 3 or 4 cashiers and at least one lady walking around greeting you and seeing if they could help. It is pricier then your chain store but the products are cooler, unique, and many times locally made. Things you can't get at other stores or amazon. Like so many places, it's one downside is parking. It is a small lot, if you part in front you basically have to back in to spot blocking traffic or back out into traffic. There is a small side lot that is better but you basically have to 3 point turn out of that spot. Always willing to pay a bit more to support local. We don't get out of our area/comfort zone much but we do love this place. #Supportlocal

This place is tied with Anthropologie for my wife's fave purveyor of dresses. Deanna and Jessa…read moreremember her preferences, even. The dresses are all handmade and artisanal or whatever, but this five-star review is for the amenities. First of all, the panhandlers who love to harass and congregate outside the CVS haven't followed me into the store here, so the hobo shielding is strong with this one. The seating arrangement is also exquisite--the perfect iPhone Throne for, let's face it, probably dudes like me who wouldn't have come here on their own accord. Since it's a single-seater (with an ottoman!), the capacity is far more limited than the long bench at Outdoor Voices, so if you and I end up here at the same time, we'll need to fight for it. No face shots, please, and leave my Yelpin' hand be.

The dresses mostly run over $100 and aren't exactly my style. The prints are mostly fun and colorful and almost 60s-70s ish. I found their sterling silver jewelry and earrings to be more interesting. They had lots of unique flower shaped earrings that ranged around $32-44. They also sell kids clothes and gifts. The interior was a little dark. The dresses were mostly made of stretchy or comfy fabric. The dresses are more casual in nature (wrap dresses, summer dresses). They also sold bathing suits for around $80. I don't know if the bathing suits are made in-house.

I was so glad to see this spot was still here when I visited Austin again a few weeks ago!…read more I visited this fun store about 5+ years ago when visiting a friend who lives in Texas and I remembered on this trip that they have a table with a bunch of crystals on it. We were nearby having lunch and walked over and it's still there! Tons of beautiful crystals and I was able to get a Rose quartz and two smokey quartz towers - all really good quality for insanely good prices. They have some great vintage clothing inside and some cute accessories and fun items. Great location near to some other cool shops and finds and Hillside Pharmacy for fabulous bites. Super friendly staff who wrapped my gems up with love and care for the trip back to VA. A+

Charm School Vintage is one of my favorite stores in our neighborhood…read more They've carefully curated vintage pieces with western flair (clothing, jewelry, etc). In addition, you'll be able to find items from various eras as far back as the 30s through the 70s. I've seen some stuff there even older than the 30s. Everything is of exceptional quality and condition. Not only do they sell but they buy as well. If you've got vintage wear you'd like to get rid of, try them. They give cash or credit for things they'll buy from folks. As with most stores like this, you'll get more in store credit for your stuff. Fun fact: they've also got a location in Waco.
