To be honest, from looking at the outside, I did not expect to see much in this store. However, once inside, it's bigger than you think, and absolutely crammed full of merchandise. This place bills itself as a thrift store, but the prices are more in line with what you'd see in a consignment store. The aisles are very narrow in order to accommodate all the merchandise. They definitely have some collectible items, including some vintage stereo stuff. Inside you'll also find appliances, toys, furniture, tons of clothes, home decor, drum sets and electronics. They do offer sale prices on certain color tags which are likely the items that have been sitting around for a while. About half the space is given over to clothing and accessories, you'll also find three dressing rooms to try them on. This business doesn't just accept donations, they will purchase them as well. Thift Center is where it's AT!!! Don't sleep on this little shop. If you blink you'll miss it. I've found so many wonderful treasures here. I got an Instant Pot for $20! A nutribullet for $10. They have a wonderful collection of clothes for all sizes. I'm in a bigger body and sometimes finding clothes second hand is super hard, not here. They have a large and funky selection. If you are treasure hunting, this place is pure gold and a hidden gem. Thank me later. read more

I LOVE THRIFT CENTER! I refuse to frequent any other thrift store in town, Thrift Center is where it's at. I always find quality, stylish and relatively new clothes here with prices ranging from $2.99 - 7.99. The tops, sweaters, blouses, dresses I purchase from here average ~$4.99 or 5.99 each. I've found nice jeans and slacks/pants for under $7.99 each. And SO many choices of shoes in a wide variety of sizes! In addition to clothes they sell housewares, furniture, electronics and other various things. I've purchased a few very good condition Marvel comics in plastic wrapping before for $2.99! One of which was the very comic/issue that inspired the TV series "WandaVision". Have items you want to sell? Thrift Center will pay you cash for anything they are interested in. I love supporting small business. If I'm able to purchase whatever I need from a mom and pop storefront, I'll always choose them over places like Target or Amazon. With that being said, I also understand that small business tend to price their items a little more expensive than larger stores since they aren't able to buy mass amounts of inventory. This thrift store is pretty small and packed with clothes everywhere. I found a few items that I would have purchased, but everything was priced 2-3x more than what I would pay for it at other thrift stores. Even the other thrift store down the street that is an individual storefront is significantly cheaper for the same quality items. I would love to come back and shop at this store, but the prices are just too high for me. read more

I went here after seeing they posted 2 items on a resell app. I went in the next morning and they had one but not the other, considering the store had just opened I asked and the lady who was working and she said they must have sold it. Almost immediately after me came a gentleman looking for the same items. The lady told him I just bought the one and they couldn't find the other. The gentleman only spoke Spanish and since I'm fluent I understood the entire conversation. She went to ask another lady to see if the 2nd item had sold. She told her no and went to get it and the man purchased it. This really upset me considering I got there first and they didn't even ask me if I wanted it. I didn't make a big deal. The ladies were nice but the whole situation was upsetting. Most likely will not return due to this experience. read more

My favorite thrift store in Austin. My grandkids wanted to spend their birthday thrift shopping so we visited 7 different stores. We went to 6 in South Austin and 1 on Burnet before we realized we were worn out! We all bought stuff. The grands were focused on clothes and I wanted stuff for the house and there was a great selection of both. Like many thrift stores they has specials based on the color of the tags, and that made the money go sooo much further. Each kid spent $20-25 here, but they got so much for their money. They were thrilled! And this was their favorite stop of the day :-) read more

I seriously needed a new oven, given that I'd decided to host a family reunion for Thanksgiving this year, but our current oven was old and decrepit and didn't even have a way to gauge the temperature. So, after a lot of surfing through Craigslist and a lot of driving all over the place trying to find something we could afford, I finally saw an ad on Craigslist for a gas range here at Thrift Center. I drove down to take a look at it, and was pleasantly surprised to find the price had gone down since the listing. Not only that, but they could deliver it and install it for a reasonable fee. Sold! I paid for the range, and sure enough, a couple of guys showed up the following Monday to install it. It only took about 20 minutes or so, and they hauled the old one away and saved me the trouble of figuring out what the hell to do with it. Now we have a nice new(ish) oven, a digital temperature gauge, and a way to cook a turkey for Thanksgiving. Thank you, Thrift Center! read more

I find this to be a great place to check out if you are looking for wall decor, outdoor decor, lighting or dressers. If you're in the neighborhood looking for those items, Thrift Center is certainly worth a look. Stuff here is cheap in the above mentioned categories. You'll find cool outdoor wrought iron pieces for $50 or less. A total steal. You'll also find large post for plants that you might pay $80 or $100 at Garden Ridge for $40. They have chandeliers that you'd pay $200 at Home Depot for about half that. They don't have all that much selection, but if you have a specific thing in mind and they happen to have it, you could save yourself a good deal of cash. read more

As a male thrift store shopper I'm usually drawn to used appliances and old things I can fix up or make art out of. The clothing selection for guys might not be a hipsters paradise, but it has plenty of old coats, suits, jeans, hats, and bags. Anyone interested in fitness will find plenty of used free weights. I dont know much about women's fashion, but I saw plenty of nice looking dresses and "blusas".. which is spanish for blouses... you know what I mean. Selling there is probably the easiest and most hassle free experience that I've ever had. If you've gone to buffalo, or plato's closet and you had tons of things rejected, there is a VERY good chance Thrift Center will take your goods. (They don't take everything, but it seems like they know their market). I also have to mention how pleased I was with the service - friendly and honest. I purchased a hand mixer for 6 bucks and I got it home and it didn't work. The receipt says all sales are final on appliances, but I went back anyway to see if I could exchange it for another and they were totally cool about it; adjusted the price and everything. Helpful tip: they have a cord at the counter so you can hook up the appliance before you buy it ( did not know that). This is not a high end thrift store, but it's really neat and tucked out of the way so please try to keep it under your hat and tell all your most trusted friends about it. read more

It's just what it is - a thrift center. It's a thrift shop in the most ordinary sense. The front room has a clothing, books, and toy section. Then there is a room off to the side with haphazardly piled appliances, wrought iron yard decorations, furniture, and even sometimes a 70s style organ. We were so tempted to buy the organ, but the volume didn't work too well - we checked in the following week, and it was gone! What's nice is that if you're in a snooping around mood, it's easy to do so here because it's not that large. (The prices are average as far as a thrift shop goes.) You can easily browse the entire shop in less than an hour. read more

I got two used front-load washers here at a great price ($280 for a Kenmore HE3T, and an LG for $399), along with delivery for only $25 for both, and a 90-day warranty. You can't do that well on Craigslist! The pump in the Kenmore broke a few weeks after I bought it, but I called and they came out THE SAME DAY to put in a new pump (under warranty, at no cost to me). There were a couple of minor hiccups -- the first time they accidentally delivered a washer and dryer, instead of the two washers I bought. And they either did or didn't have an LG in stock depending on who I talked with. And their math was a little off when we took one washer off the order and replaced it with a different one. (They quickly corrected it when I pointed out the problem.) But those were just minor issues. The washers were cheap, delivery was just $25 together, and they honored the warranty the same day that I called. Can't do better than that. read more

I used to like this place when I would go there to shop but I went there to drop off clothes and gave them my information for them to text me when it was ready. No one informed us of the 3 day policy they claim to have and no one gave me a ticket or slip. A couple weeks later I remembered no one contacted me about my clothes so I went in and they said they didn't have my stuff anymore and they considered it "donated". I did not want to donate what they were not going to take because I was going to take it to other places first. They asked for my number to search their phone records to see if they sent a message and nothing came up. Seems like a scam to me. They gave me $25 for a HUGE bag I brought in and I actually saw a few of my items on display. 2 items that I saw cost almost $25. Shop here if you want but DO NOT DROP YOUR ITEMS OFF HERE!!!!!!! Never would've thought this place would have such a cool selection of trinkets in their side part of the store. The clothing is lacking selection and they don't have much to offer -- but I feel their other part of the store makes up for it. I found a really adorable vintage looking chair for $30, and 2 stinkin' cute wall decor for $2.99 each. Never know what you're going to find at places like these. I went in here hoping to sell a handful of costumes that I've been holding on to. They do have buying hours posted 10-2pm and I was stuck in South 1st traffic but lady was nice enough to still take a look at my stuff 10 minutes after 2pm. I walked around while I waited. They definitely utilize the space - it is a tight squeeze through the isles. Lots of clothes shoes and costumes. Everything seemed organized but overwhelming. I did not peruse the "home" area so no opinion there. For 4 costumes/ 2 dresses, 2 wigs, boots (all worn once) and misc items = $10. I declined. There was an almost identical flapper dress on the wall for sale for $20 & an entire rack of skimpy dresses.... I get they have to mark up but geez!! read more

i bought a washer for $250 and it worked great......at first....the spin wash stopped working so i called them and they apologized like anyone would...they sent a mechanic out because it was within there "60 day warranty"...he came out and swapped the timer and awesome it worked again....for 2 weeks. i called Paul Gonzalez and he told me that they could not help me because the warranty was up....long story short they sold a busted washer and kept me happy for 60 days then told me they cant help me because the warranty was up. do not buy any appliances from them because they are broken and rigged to work for their warranty then they cut you out and tell you "sorry we cant help". This thrift store told me they did 8×s the mark up on the items they purchase but when I went back in after selling they had given me literally a few dollars for something they had marked at $65.00. I donate all the time to goodwill and salvation army and shopped here to support charity all the time but I was very dissapointed the manager actually lied to my face. BAD MANAGEMENT. Very sad to see. Ill continue to donate to charities that dont abuse the needy and impoverished and DONT lie to put back in their own pocket. read more

We spent $700 on a used Samsung fridge from them that came with a 60 day warranty. After 90 days it stopped freezing so we had a Samsung repair person look at it. He deemed it un-repairable as it had a coolant leak and a bad compressor and had previously been worked on. Called Thrift Center and they had their repair guy come out and wanted to charge us $350 to refill it with coolant and would never call us back to give us any details on the repair. So now we are out $700 and have to buy a new fridge. Save your money and buy new... read more

I bought a refrigerator/freezer yesterday. It's been plugged in for over 24 hours. It is not getting cold in the freezer or fridge. This is unacceptable! The service man promised me that it worked. This place is a fraud! I hope no one gives them their business! They make their money off of stealing from people! When you bring them your stuff (hoping they'll pay you for it) they actually try to get you away while they go through it all so they can take extra things! I brought them a ton of my stuff and they went through it item by item, choosing the ones they wanted to buy from me (I watched them closely), offered me a crappy amount, then when I said "no thanks" they only gave me half my stuff back! I went inside and found a couple things of mine they didn't give me back but the rest I guess they took in the back. Of course they lied about it when I confronted them. Not to mention they were mean, saying "it's ok we have other customers. Go away." Then the woman at the register refused to give me the owner's information. It's a scam, they do this all the time.
