To be honest, from looking at the outside, I did not expect to see much in this store. However,…read moreonce inside, it's bigger than you think, and absolutely crammed full of merchandise. This place bills itself as a thrift store, but the prices are more in line with what you'd see in a consignment store. The aisles are very narrow in order to accommodate all the merchandise. They definitely have some collectible items, including some vintage stereo stuff. Inside you'll also find appliances, toys, furniture, tons of clothes, home decor, drum sets and electronics. They do offer sale prices on certain color tags which are likely the items that have been sitting around for a while. About half the space is given over to clothing and accessories, you'll also find three dressing rooms to try them on. This business doesn't just accept donations, they will purchase them as well. This thrift store carries a higher quality number of goods by far than your average Goodwill, but then again they are priced higher. Plenty of photos to peak your interest below.

The clothing selection is especially good--better brands, excellent condition, no stains or tears, and often items that are brand new or look like they've barely been worn. Beyond clothing, I've found beautiful crystal and china, quality glassware and serving pieces, decorative items, books in wonderful condition, puzzles, children's toys and clothing, and some truly gorgeous furniture. The furniture, in particular, is often top-quality and priced far below what I would expect. The store itself is clean, organized, and easy to shop. I never feel like I have to dig through piles of damaged or worn-out items to find something worthwhile. What really sets Better ATX apart, though, is the people. The volunteers are friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about what they're doing. Every visit feels welcoming. I often run into familiar faces, and it's not unusual to end up having a pleasant conversation with a volunteer I've never met before. As someone who relies on thrift stores to help stretch my budget for clothing and household items, I appreciate places that offer genuine value. Better ATX consistently has some of the best prices I've found on high-quality items, including brands I could never justify buying new. I always look forward to visiting and almost always leave with a great find.

Thrift Stop #2 ATX…read moreThrift Store is one of my favorite thrift stores. It's well-organized, spacious and easy to move around. It is absolutely fun to shop at this store. They have unique pieces, ones you can envision wearing or putting in your home. At ATX Thrift store the thrill of the hunt is still alive and bubbling in your shopping veins. Smile. The selection of items rotates frequently with clothing, shoes, accessories, and goods that range from everyday basics to those one of kind items. You can find unique antique furniture like a victrola, a retro jacket, antique costume jewelry or a quirky décor piece. It is so much fun thrifting here. The little ladies that manage this store are so super sweet. I was trying to getting to a door that was locked. The store sales representative came outside to get me and take me through the correct door. I guess I did not realize that door was no longer open. These ladies are kind and will go out their way to help you. The prices of the pieces at ATX Thrift are reasonable and very affordable. It is nothing like going to a thrift store and finding item and then realizing it is way overpriced. As many times as I have visited ATX Thrift, I can honestly say their prices are consistently fair. While I did not find my pink depression glass, I did have fun shopping.

Score. The prices are reasonable and the selection is varied. It's a very welcoming place and I can't wait to bring friends and shop again. The parking lot is small but I was able to find a spot today. There are other shops in the same shared building and Top Drawer is on the left. Come explore the store.

I've been going to this place long enough to write a fair review. First off, I will say this is my…read moreabsolute favorite Thrift store in Austin. There are so many thrift stores out there that I've gone to but this one by far is one of the best as far as clothing selections go. I always walk out with $30-70 worth of clothes and with that money I get so much especially on discounted items. Not to mention their used clothes are so well priced it honestly makes the experience more enjoyable. Now here are the cons. Their new with tags items are WAY over priced, some near retail. I know those are supposed to be more expensive ideally they should at least be half off not near retail price which defeats the purpose of buying them thrifted. Another thing, it's way too hot and stuffy in there. I've gotten used to it but they don't have AC only fans which doesn't do much only if you're in front of it. Other than that the pros outweigh the cons. The employees are cool, and honestly I typically spend like 3-4 hours there at most. I always look forward to coming here. Lastly, don't forget to bring cash because it's cash only!

Prices are going up across the thrift industry and that's hardly Thrift Lands fault but in addition…read moreto having high prices their tagging is borderline predatory... I waited to see a trinket box in a display case that had a clear 8$ label on it, only to discover it had three pieces all priced separately at 8$ including the lid!! This already had me annoyed but it was whatever until I walked the floor and found a lidded pot priced the same way! $19.99 on the pot and a separate $19.99 for the lid taped to it!! 20$ on the floor of a thrift store is already too high but 40$ is outrageous!! Especially if you price a lid at the same price as the pot!! Just price your items at what you want to sell them for and don't try to trick your customers!! Use one tag!! If that trinket dish had one label at $24, I might have bought it but instead all it did was put a bad taste in my mouth!! Thrift land has always been a little highly priced, on top of being inconvenient, as a cash only establishment but I had thought it mostly worth it before now. I don't honestly think I'll be going back there again...

I was extremely pleased to find this particular store within easy walking distance of my most favorite/#1 daughter's new apartment (My primary reason for being in this fine community was to assist her with relocation.) Additionally, thus excellent business also provides excellent employment opportunities for an underserved population.
