Anyway, I love Room Service and have been coming here for years. Long before I relocated to Austin from the East Coast. It's part of my North Loop Jaunt where I hit up all my fave places in the neighborhood every few months or so. Prior to relocating, I'd visit Austin twice a year and always made time to stop in. This is one of the most inspiring and well laid out vintage stores ever. You can just get lost for hours. So many ideas for home decor and styling. They've always got a grand selection of MCM (Mid-Century Modern) furniture and accessories. My house is 99% MCM. They've really just got the best collection of everything. Trinkets, knickknacks, patches, light fixtures, dishes, mirrors, art, clothing, records, jewelry...you get my drift. Service is so super friendly and welcoming. I am particularly fond of the pro-trans sign in the entrance window!! Everything they carry is in very good to pristine condition and pricing is reflective. With that said, the prices are extremely fair. I can't recommend Room Service enough. Support local. Support small business. Sustainability. Be creative.

I had a feeling it probably wasn't going to be my kind of shop, and I turned out to be right--but that's not a knock on the store. This is a really cool place filled with things you won't find just anywhere. If you're looking for unique vintage, antique, mid-century modern, or just plain unusual pieces, you'll probably have a great time browsing. Just don't go expecting thrift store prices. Everything is priced much closer to full market value, so this is more of a vintage boutique than a thrift store. I originally stopped in because I'd seen photos online of some beautiful vintage glassware and hoped to find something to add to my collection. Unfortunately, they didn't have anything I was looking for, and what did catch my eye was more than I was willing to spend. I left empty-handed, and it's probably not a store I'll visit again simply because I'm more of a bargain hunter. But if you're looking for distinctive vintage pieces and don't mind paying market prices, Room Service Vintage is definitely worth a visit.

This place bills itself as a thrift store, but the prices are more in line with what you'd see in a consignment store. The aisles are very narrow in order to accommodate all the merchandise. They definitely have some collectible items, including some vintage stereo stuff. Inside you'll also find appliances, toys, furniture, tons of clothes, home decor, drum sets and electronics. They do offer sale prices on certain color tags which are likely the items that have been sitting around for a while. About half the space is given over to clothing and accessories, you'll also find three dressing rooms to try them on. This business doesn't just accept donations, they will purchase them as well. This thrift store carries a higher quality number of goods by far than your average Goodwill, but then again they are priced higher. Plenty of photos to peak your interest below.

Thift Center is where it's AT!!!…read more Don't sleep on this little shop. If you blink you'll miss it. I've found so many wonderful treasures here. I got an Instant Pot for $20! A nutribullet for $10. They have a wonderful collection of clothes for all sizes. I'm in a bigger body and sometimes finding clothes second hand is super hard, not here. They have a large and funky selection. If you are treasure hunting, this place is pure gold and a hidden gem. Thank me later.

Prices aren't exactly a steal but also not crazy high. Staff was pretty friendly too. Just be careful because you might find the perfect James Sunderland jacket to wear to an Akira Yamaoka show but decide you don't need another jacket and then just be kicking yourself later that you didn't buy it.

She always has a personal word, is super friendly and professional. She is very helpful whenever I have a question and is very hands on. But each and every employee there is just really nice. What I also really like about this location is that there is not a huge employee turnover unlike in other Goodwill stores. What I don't like is that the aisles are super narrow, the pricing is sometimes really ridiculous (I know it's for a good purpose, but after all it's still a Goodwill store where people want/ have to shop that don't have lots of money) and that they are no fitting rooms. I also miss the huge book selection from pre- remodeling.

I visited the city-wide vintage sale with my adult child, and we spent about 3 hours there on the…read moresecond day of the sale. The cons are that you'll pay for parking and entry. The pros are that you'll see a wide range of vendors - from clothing and jewelry to music and furniture....and plenty of kitch. The price ranges are pretty broad. I bought an $8 necklace but sorted through a bunch of Coach bags ($200 - $300), and some super cool upcycled pieces ($175 - $250). The crowd was pretty small, and some decent deals were to be had later in the day if you asked. Overall, there was a high clothing to other things ratio on this particular weekend. I bought a pink maxi tule skirt, a pair of possibly too low rise lightweight pants, and 2 necklaces. My kid bought a pair of shorts, a sweater vest, a small fish pin, a CD, and an embroidery art piece. I had fun and I'd go back.
