I used to always go to Green n Growing and it was nice to visit a familiar place and see a few familiar and new faces.

Let me start with this: don't let the husband's grumpy energy kill your vibe. If you can brush off…read morehis scowl, you're going to fall in love with this little woman owned neighborhood nursery. My boyfriend (the green thumb) sparked my interest in gardening, so we went hunting for a local nursery spot and found this gem tucked inside a charming little house. At first glance, it's like stumbling upon a hidden speakeasy...a nice spot in a very unexpected and weird location, but it works. The owner, a sweet curly-haired redhead, was all warmth and knowledge from the second we walked in. She's got it all here: propagated starter plants perfect for newbies, bigger statement pieces for indoor and outdoor gardening, succulents, pots, and even cute accessories that make you want to redecorate your patio. It's small, but it has heart. Pricing is a bit of a mystery. Very few plants are labeled, so you just have to trust her when she throws out a price. Everything seemed pretty reasonable and affordable, though. I grabbed plant food, a pot of Cuban oregano, and another medium-sized plant all for $35. I liked the price but I couldn't tell you exactly what each item cost. Personally, I didn't mind, but a little transparency would go a long way. Back to the husband: he's a bit dismissive and he scowls. He doesn't greet customers. But my two cents? Sir...If you don't want to deal with people, maybe hang out somewhere else during business hours. Customers come for the plants and the experience. Not to feel like they're crashing your day. But the nursery itself is adorable, the plants are healthy, the prices are reasonable, and the owner is a delight. There are some ridiculously cute dogs on site (just don't let them sneak out the door when you come in). All in all: a quirky, welcoming local business that deserves support. Just smile, buy your plants, and pretend the husband's scowl is part of a sitcom, part of the charm, I guess...

You don't see any wilting or dying plants you only see thriving plants. And also, they have such unusual plants that I don't find anywhere else. Today I saw LITHOPS which are living rocks. They're not actually rocks are actually little plants, but they look like rocks. So interesting! I also found Coral Bells in two different colors. I cannot resist these. They are going to make an excellent addition to my garden. This store is medium priced, but their plants are high-quality. I will again come to the store to browse, and most likely I will purchase something else Amazing! In addition to plants, they have pots and trellises and soil and everything that you would need to build your garden. Their employees are also quite knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend you visit.

Last year I mentioned that if you're trying to completely re-do an entire garden in one trip, big box stores can sometimes be cheaper. BUT this year I tried something different I made a list on the Home Depot app and decided to stop by Round Rock Garden Center first to see what I could actually get cheaper locally. And honestly, I was pleasantly surprised. I ended up getting multiple garden beds worth of plants here ...three tomato plants (including a beautiful variety called Rapunzel suggested by a worker who didn't eat them but thought they're beautiful thanks girlie), four gorgeous marigolds, two sage plants, and the last Spanish lavender they had. The herb prices were great, and I loved that I could buy individual veggie plants instead of being forced to buy them in pairs like some places. The selection was also really nice they had varieties I definitely didn't see at Home Depot. What really stood out though was the staff. When I was checking out, I asked if they had any lavender because I hadn't spotted it (I'm honestly a little blind and sometimes overlook things ). One of the ladies at the register was so kind and actually walked out from behind the counter to show me exactly where the plant was. Another staff member in a pink staff shirt even walked me all the way to the back of the property to show me where both the English and Spanish lavender were. They were incredibly patient and helpful, and never made me feel silly for missing what was probably right in front of me. I ended up choosing the Spanish lavender because it was already blooming and a bit more established, and I'm really excited to get it planted. Thank you to the team at Round Rock Garden Center for being so friendly and helpful today. I'm really grateful for the experience and for the beautiful plants!

This is just north of Parmer Lane and a bit off the road, but the signage is nice and clear. Once you get in, the business is loaded to the gills with plants of all sorts. Their selection is massive and varied. They offer a ton of Texas native and/or drought resistant plants. The staff we have encountered has been friendly and helpful. Their prices can not be beat! My wife and I most recently bought a big, beautiful live oak (45 gallon) from them for around 1/2 to 1/3 the price we have seen for similar sized trees around town. Finally, every single plant we have bought from these guys (10-12 at the time of this writing) has been extremely happy and has thrived immediately upon planting. With them being so close to our house, price, service, and quality of plants, my wife and I are now loyal customers.

They have one of the largest selection of plants you'll find anywhere that dwarfs any Home Depot or Lowe's. They have pretty much every imaginable perennial and annual along with succulents and trees, even large mature trees. Most everything here has pricing attached to it, but not everything. They have lots of PVC and accessories for lawn sprinklers. They don't have a great selection of mulch and they only sell large quantities of weed preventative permeable ground cover. They even have some large pavers and stones. It's likely they offer a discount if you buy in quantity. Needless to say, this place caters primarily to commercial landscapers, but the general public is welcome as well. Informative video and photos included.
