I made the mistake of telling myself, "I'll just run in and take a look". Three hours later I was STILL wandering the aisles aimlessly. I had no idea this location was an actual warehouse. AMAZING! Honestly, I could spend hours here and it still wouldn't be enough. I went in on a Friday night after work and there was only a handful of ppl in the store. LOVED THIS FOR ME. When I shop for anything, I just want to look around without feeling like someone is watching me, wondering why I'm taking so long, and/or asking if I need help over and over again. I love that this was not the case here. I ran into a few workers through out the store with whom I exchanged a smile and head nod but other than that, was left alone while I perused this enormous store. I stopped in originally to look at the art work and was not disappointed at all. There were so many beautiful items to look through. Everything was nicely arranged and the store was super clean. We were in the shopping area and decided to pop in to look at Christmas trees. The store closed in 15 minutes but we figured we would see the selection and come back another day if it looked like they had a good variety. Truthfully, it had been a hard year and we wanted to do something that would feel cheerful. We parked and as we were walking in someone collecting carts curtly said "we're closed". I said "oh, it says you close in 15 minutes" which she replied "yeah well, they're not going to sell you anything." Cool. We brushed it off and walked in and two employees looked at us and one said "we're closed now, not enough time to shop." So we said "we were just going to look at the Christmas trees for 5 minutes" and the woman shook her head clearly frustrated. We walked over to the Christmas tree aisle and stood in silence for a beat. My husband turned and said "this doesn't feel joyful anymore". We could have used any of the following: kindness, holiday spirit, or anyone to simply stfu and keep their misery to themselves. Instead we were called out to rudely by two separate employees. Perhaps I'll go back at another time to purchase some. The store was nicely laid out. I didn't noticed too many employee around to assist. Was check outline - cashier really rude to lady in front of us. Lady wasn't rude or ugly in anyway cashier just didn't want to help - he finally called someone to help her. Then I was checking out - my daughter put in my rewards number - cashier then looked at screen and asked if that was me. I said yes - but why do you ask. Cashier then said very rudely and hateful I said - your attitude little boy sux- cashier said go tell someone who cares. I said I will when I can find a mgr. I asked his name - cashier then said What you can't read English - his hair was covering name tag. I then found a mgr - and explained what happened and so did other customer. Mgr said Hunter had done this twice already. If he is at cash register again I will walk out. The shelves are always neatly stocked and always have fun new Halloween and Christmas decor to add to my collection every year. Today I went to visit At Home for the first time. This review is for two separate locations which were both visited today. The first location visited was the Cedar Park location. I went to this store looking for a dress form Christmas tree. When I entered the store, I attempted to locate the item, however determined after searching on my own for approximately 30 minutes, the item was unavailable. I asked a store employee if the item I was searching for was available, to which she replied "Why did you wait until Christmas eve to get this"? (Not the answer to my question) Eventually, she advised that she "thinks" she sold the last type of the item which was the one on display today. I then called the Pflugerville location from my phone to ask if they carried the item. When I phoned the Pflugerville store I received the following message "Thank you for calling At Home, we are closed for Thanksgiving". Thanksgiving!!!!! I thought to myself --- it is Christmas Eve! I then went to the register and asked the cashier if she could find out if the Pflugerville location had the item if I were to give her the item number. The cashier advised me she would have to check with her manager to determine if she could call the other store. At this juncture, I'm confused. What chain store is not permitted to phone another store or look up a sku number for a customer to determine if another location has the item? I waited approximately 4 minutes for the manager to arrive at the cashier stand. Upon the manager's arrival, I showed the picture of the item on my phone to the manager. The manager glances at the item and tells me "We haven't had those for a few months, we don't get a lot of the unique items". Again, I'm confused as the employee in the store just advised the last item of this type was sold off of display today. The manager then exclaimed "A customer just told me the phones are not working at the Pflugerville store, so I can't call them and ask". The manager then uses her cellphone to call who I assume was a manager from the Pflugerville store and as she is phoning tells me "I don't want to call because I don't know if it's their day off or not". (Why tell me that?) The manager then leaves to the back of the store and advised that I wait at the front. During this time, approximately 9 minutes elapsed. I then hear the manager advice the cashier over the walkie talkie "Tell that lady at the front, we don't have it". I left that store to go to the Pflugerville store. ----------Pflugerville store------------ *note the upcoming section pertains to the Pflugerville store only. When I arrive at the Pflugerville store I searched approximately 10 minutes to find the item I was looking for. When I didn't see the item, I asked my son to take my phone with the photo of the item as well as the item number to an employee to determine if the item was available. When my son approached the employee, she seemed annoyed. I watched my son show the employee the phone and ask if the item was available. The employee did a waving motion with her as she was looking at the phone as if to indicate a "shoo fly don't bother me" motion toward to my son. The employee advised my son "We haven't had that in months". After this occurred, I called the Austin location while still in the Pflugerville store to determine if they had the item. When I called the Austin location and gave the Manager, Randy the item number and description, he advised he had 3 left and would hold the item for me at the front. I ended up purchasing the item at the Austin location. I give this place two stars for the vast selection of items it has. However, if I were to rate the customer service, I would give no stars if possible. More stars could have been given had the first or second store I visited made an effort to find the item for me. Alternatively, I used my phone and my gas to drive around town to get the item. I will not purchase from this retailer again. read more

On a other item I was interested in, a set of glass storage dishes, I had to turn the box completely upside down to find that price. I love this store. I have been there 4 times since discoering it as the last stop of a full day of furniture shopping with my 80 year old mother-in-law. Full day? 8 stores, 10.5 hours,11,600 steps. We were in awe of this grand spanse of furniture and home decorating opportunities at very reasonable prices. It kind of takes the place of Garden Ridge. Or might be a cross between Pier 1, Bed Bath & Beyond but without towels and toiletries. Although the place was near closing time we also had help. Though that was not the case of subsequent visits. What put me over the top besides buying lots of stuff each time...when taking down some plastic bins to find the right top I put down my wallet and forgot it. About 4 days later I was on my way back for more shopping and to retreive my wallet. When I lost it I was being pretty sill with my 16 year old...mischief making along with pictures. I was able to narrow down the time of absent mindedness to 25 miuntes via the pictures. At Home found my wallet. It had been turned in and not reported. They used their camera system to find it! The fact they actually took time out of their day during this busy season (Thanksgiving weekend) to locate my wallet is impressive. And yes everything was in it including a lot of cash! I'm going to say I miss Garden Ridge, I felt that they had a more reasonable pricing. This is a giant warehouse, that has pretty much most of your household needs, but I find it is quite expensive compared to other stores that sells essentially the same thing. They do have a giant selection of everything they sell, at minimum 4 aisles of everything. I just never find anything that is worth the price. It is also daunting the amount of stuff they have. During Christmas nearly half of this store (which is huge) is filled with everything and anything Christmas related. I would say maybe 1 in every 10 times I go here do I find something to buy, they have a lot of stuff but I wouldn't say the pricing is worth it on about 85% of the items. Employees are extremely hard to find when you need help and I have ended up walking half way across the store before I ever encounter anyone. I've never seen more than one register open at a time, and I wouldn't say the service is friendly either. Overall I would not recommend this place for home decor needs, unless you are okay with over paying for mediocre decor. read more

When I first moved to Texas, I had never heard of At Home. When you walk in for the first time, it's a bit overwhelming. There are rows upon rows of everything you could imagine for your house. Think of Hobby Lobby on steroids. You won't find the most unique things here (or necessarily the best quality), but I go here anytime in I need a knick knack, small vase or picture frame. There options are endless. I even found some barstools that were really cute. They also have things like garden lights or lots of kitchen stuff. They have rows of baskets, throw pillows, outdoor pillows etc. Some of the decorations they have a pretty gaudy, but it's a great place to start to see if you can find what you need without having to pay an arm and a leg at a nicer store. read more

I wish I could give this store negative stars after the experience I had yesterday. Beware that this store does not follow corporate protocol. The manager stated her store does not follow the corporate return policy or their return standards and that her store director runs the show. I brought in 5 items that I received from my mother in law to return for store credit. My mother in law was already upset with me for not liking her house warming gifts so she wouldn't give me the receipt. I told the manager the situation and asked if I could get store credit, she said no. She then examined my items and saw that all of them were over $20. Then she said she can only return one item without a receipt and it must be under $20, so I didn't qualify. How fitting that her standard is $20 when my cheapest item was $29. Mind you this is not on the return policy on the At Home website. When I asked why I could not be issued a store credit, considering all the items were in their original packaging with tags she told me to stop trying to be "combative." I then asked if I could have a copy of their return policy and she told me to "google it." I showed her the return policy online which clearly states "no receipt no problem" and that you would be given store credit for the current price of the items (which was totally fine by me- I would have been happy to take a sale price-but in fact all the items i was returning were new and full price). She still insisted that her store didn't have to follow the company wide return policy. I asked if I could speak with her superior and she said no because he wasn't at work. I then asked if I could have his number or know when he works next so I can ask about the return and I was met with another no. Then I asked if I could have a number at corporate and she told me to google it. Deb, you really should take costumer service more seriously. I then called the Austin store which is 30 miles from me or I would have gone there first and I told them all the items I needed to return. They told me it was in line with their policy and that there was NOT a $20 limit and to please bring everything back for store credit. I would have had no problem being told I couldn't return the items if it was truly against company policy, but this manager decided to lie and make up her own return policy. I would gladly have taken my items home and gifted them to my neighbors or Goodwill. It's the flat out lying that gets me. Not to mention I unloaded and had to reload all this in the car with my 6 month old. These were large items. Two big pictures, a large wicker basket, and a two tables. Never going back. read more

I love this store! I had never been to an At Home (previously called Garden Ridge) until I moved to Austin, TX. Imagine a Ross and Home Goods had a baby on steroids, this would be it! The warehouse is huge and stocked full (in a very organized manner) of everything you could want for your home. From frames and bath mats to decor and even furniture. And best of all everything is so cheap, practically disposable! As far as quality goes, buyer beware, the items can be cheap but on things such as vases or placemats it really makes no difference. If you sign up online you can get occasional coupons for 40% off one item. read more

My girlfriend and I have been on the hunt for a coffee table and have exhausted just about all of our options so I suggested At Home as a final stop.... first of all the store was a disaster. It looked like things had just been shoved on a shelf but fine, whatever. Secondly there were maybe 5 (damaged) coffee tables in the entire store which whatever it is what it is, but we decided to ask an employee if there were possibly any in the back that just haven't been put out yet and there was NO ONE to be found. In a store with that kind of square footage you'd expect at least 5 staff members on the floor (covid or not) but there was no one. After walking almost the whole store we found a girl (Ali is the name on her badge) walking around on her phone. You wouldn't have even known she works there because she was just wandering around texting but I happened to see a badge so my girlfriend asked her about the coffee table situation saying "hey I was just wondering if you had any other coffee tables or is this all you guys have at the moment" she didn't even look at us she just said "Yup" and kept walking....? Whatever. We were annoyed at this point so we went to check out with our one rug we found and there was 12 couples/people in front of us and another 5-6 behind us that just continued to pile up with only ONE girl working... we saw that the other girl Ali was walking around the front fixing random things and the check out girl requested back up multiple times when finally Ali says "I'm busy I'll be there in a minute" however, she was not busy... she finally got up to a register and had an attitude with every single customer. We waited in line to check out for almost half an hour. One other employee had walked up and then walked off to go fluff pillows on the shelf (yes we saw her doing it) Oh and also, no one answers the phone when you call. It doesn't even ring inside the store because while walking around not finding an employee we called just to see and never heard one telephone ring. This is a big warehouse that's filled with all the Knick Knacks you might need to decorate your house! It can get easily overwhelming as it is big. We just decided to look through some of the things and found few items that would help to organize my fridge. I purchased 3 frames. Once home, saw that the one of the frames didn't fit the space on the wall. I needed all 3 frames to coordinate so returned all 3 frames. Since my return was after the 60-day return policy, I only received store credit instead of a full refund on my credit card. I know that's At Home's return policy but these exact frames were still sitting on their shelves at full price!! These are regular stock frames. When I asked the clerk if they could just refund the amount back on my credit card so said no and acted as if could care less. I worked in retail management so I know this policy is not firm. I walked around the whole store and didn't see one thing I wanted to buy. Stuck with this $58 store credit. read more

For months I had been watching them build the new At Home store in Cedar Park next to my Costco. I got so excited to check them out having never heard of the store before. I did know they were headquartered out of my hometown (Plano Texas what up!) which was an added bonus. Upon entering I felt déjà vu like I had been there before. Why? Because it's the store formally known as Garden Ridge which I have been to many, many times. Queue the sad trombone. It was still fun to look around in there, but I was disappointed to learn it was really nothing new at all. They have a lot of Christmas stuff but it's going fast because some aisles were already half gone. I plan on returning right after the holidays when they mark everything down to stock up for next year. That is, assuming anything is left over by then. What I did see was a giant 8 foot tall hot pink tree pre lit with white lights that I told my husband I had to have. I like fake trees for convenience and right now I have a little 4 foot black one that I decorate in all silver ornaments. I can already picture all pink and black ornaments on that beauty. My husband didn't feel the same way, so I didn't get it. But! I did notice they have it in a 4 foot size as well for $29.99 and he compromised and said I could get the smaller one so long as I keep it in a part of the house he doesn't walk past everyday. Lol Done! I ended up leaving with just some sparkly red and green ribbon for wrapping gifts in. They had a lot of cute home decor here but some of the prices were on the high side. I'd be curious to see what sort of sales they have because then it might be worth it read more

My husband and I shopped at the Cedar Park location today looking for last minute Thanksgiving stuff. While we were there I wanted to see what Hanukkah decorations were available as well. Imagine my surprise when there was not ONE Hanukkah item to be found among the aisles and aisles of Christmas things. I asked the cashier and she confirmed what I already knew, no Hanukkah decorations. She was very nice and apologetic. She said that At Home had some last year but nothing now. I can only assume that they didn't make enough money from them and decided that the space was better used on more Christmas decorations. I submitted the above to At Home on Facebook. Their response was: "We are sorry to hear about your experience D#&*. Please DM us with your inquiry so we can look into this matter." I responded with "what is DM" and they have not replied. I just want to say that I spent approximately $800 on my last visit at this store. And I usually leave purchasing carts full of stuff. Tonight, I tried to return a few small items from my previous purchase because my husband accidentally picked out the wrong hue color Christmas lights. The staff was absolutely rude and wanted to rush me along. I had a return and the cashier quickly glimpsed at my receipt and said the item wasn't there simply because the item price wasn't on the right hand column. However, I bought 8 of them, so the cashier who rang me up originally multiplied the price by 8, which was clearly written on the left hand side. She would have seen it if she spent an extra second. Then, I decided to just exchange the incorrect color box. The manager was screaming across the front of the store to her staff to make sure that I only leave with 2 boxes in my hand. She treated me like I was some sort of criminal. I definitely did not appreciate this given all the business my husband and I have brought to them over these few years. The manager on duty tonight also tried to give me a hard time about the discount that was given to me on the day of my purchase when I opened up a credit card with them. The manager who was there on the original day quoted us an incorrect discount and after I had already completed my credit card application, we found out that the perks program discount couldn't be combined with the new credit card promotion. So she felt bad and for our trouble she gave us an additional discount on our $500 Christmas tree. The manager tonight somehow felt that there was something wrong with what the previous manager did and tried to confiscate my receipt to make a photocopy. She said she wanted to report it to the district manager. When I declined, she grew very angry and insulting. Overall, I am absolutely appalled by the staff and the manager on duty tonight and will not return to shop at this retail chain ever again. read more

Im a 50yrs old who has never written a negative review about any purchase in my life its not because i have never had bad experiences..However the experience i had this store location today (3/13/20)brought me literarily into tears because its was the worst shopping experience i have had in my life. I have never shopped at this store..i came in desperate need of a particula barstool. I was the Round Rock location a day before and they didnt have enough of the particular stool i wanted..so Round Rock location made calls and told me to go to Cedar Park location because they have more of the stool. I came to the store in Cedar Park today..at 230pm...thats was not much activity going on at the store. O put one of the stool.in my cart and took it to checkout. I informed the cashier i need 3 more of the stool that i will need help getting it to the front. She told her boss who was at the entrance of the store vacuuming the front area that she can go to the back and bring the rest of the stool i wanted..she told her loudly that is not allowed...and she looked at me saying " this is a self serve store...we are short staffed we dont have time to pick up any item for nobody.. You need to go back and gran what you need or come back in one 1hr and we can have someone help you bring it to the front. Mind you there was nobody at checkout line but me..the cashier offered to go grab what i needed but her boss said No.. I have never been so humiliated. I went back to my car and cried. I called the store to speak with a manager about this but it seems the same lady ( who instructed the cashier not to help me picked the phone) .Again she continued with her condescending remark...saying we are self serve..i ask her if it was to much to spare 5mins of her time to leave the vacuum cleaner alone and help me with the purchase..its not like the vacuum cant wait while she makes a sale. As a business owner i know making a sale and satisfying my customer is my top priority. I dont know who employed a person like this as a manager of a store...it looks like she is better off been a janitor..since it looks like she enjoys that more than anything else. Great store with a huge selection.. literally, you can find anything you need for your house here, and the prices are good as well. The only complaint is that the check out can be slow as they usually have only 2 cashiers, and there is usually a line. The line moves at a reasonable pace, but still wish they had more staff. It's a nice location however I encountered a very rude worker. Petite blond hair girl with long acrylic nails with black designs and rhinestones. She didn't want to wrap my items, got upset because I asked her not to place metal in the same bag as a mirror clock that I didn't want broken. She then didn't even attempt to bag my other items so I politely placed them in bags myself and asked for wrapping paper to wrap my own things up. As a longtime customer of Garden Ridge, I was both excited and hopeful for their new line of stores, re-branded as 'At Home'. I used to go to Garden Ridge for a plethora of home, holiday, outdoor, kitchen and other items when I was looking for a cheap find and usually, they satisfied that. Flash forward to their new store, and the experience is actually much the same. It is mostly the same stuff but in a much better venue. The prices seem to be somewhat the same as well - which I had actually been worried about. Things I won't miss about Garden Ridge, (aka improvements made to At Home) 1. Gone are the old rickety, bright orange carts that were sometimes inside and sometimes outside or sometimes nowhere to be found. 2. Paved are the odd and annoying sections of textured brick patches that would make your orange card go clickety-clink. Going over these patches was usually a little unnerving, considering 99% of the time I had breakables in my cart. 3. Let there be light! Some portions of GR were dark but there's no problem at the new At Home - nicely lit and easy to see. 4. More check out stands! I'm sure there will still be long lines, but at least the check out process may go a little faster with many more check out stands available at the new At Home. So, I'm giving four stars because I really enjoyed this much improved shopping experience. Thanks GR/AH - we appreciate the upgrade!! read more

Accused of stealing. Please I advise everyone if you need to make a return hold your return up at the front doors and make sure they get a good shot of your return items! They accused me of stealing because they don't have evidence that I bought the item when I had receipts!! The manager didn't care to help me instead accused me and humiliated me in front of everyone at the store! Don't won't this to happen to anyone else so I had to let you know.
