I'm seeing a couple bad reviews from a year ago or longer, but it seems like they might have cleaned up their act since then. This homegoods is right down the road from me, my husband and I go frequently. We go there for food a lot, and have also found some other great home items like egg holder, glass juicing bottles, or all natural laundry pods, and have also gotten many stuff for our furbaby. Their clearance is pretty decent and we've found lots of good deals that way. Aisles are small, sometimes floor staff will power walk through but generally I'll stand my ground until they're forced to say excuse me or hit me bc sometimes it seems like they just expect you to move without saying something if you seem them coming. Despite that, I really don't have much issue with floor staff. Checkout line can get long but they also have about 4 cashiers when I go so it goes fast. Nice discount home store. Stopped in here for a home flower arrangement to hang on the wall in the spring. Found lots of things, I will say the fake flower arrangements are quite expensive. Lots of other neat things in the store. Nice to just walk the aisles, browse and see what you need that you didn't even know you needed. read more

Stay Clear of this HOME GOODS. If I were able to give a -5 on this store, I would. It is the worst store I've ever experienced. The service is terrible. Employees don't know where to guide customers and as always, an array of uncleanliness and order. I went to return an item and I went from 1 to 3 different checkers to return and get my money back. The lead checker came to assist the first checker on her lane. She continued to say I was unable to receive my money back. Unfortunately, I left my receipt at home, but I've been able to return items with the card that was used, but it was not acceptable to them. The store manager of the day came to the lane and stated they were unable to help. NO ONE be what to do to help a buyer. My return items were approximately $60. While they were extremely unprofessional, they "granted" me the current price. I lost $25 and walked out with $35. read more

I love this store. It's my favorite place to browse, even if I don't have anything in particular I am looking for. The store is well-lit, clean, and full of fun stuff. This trip I purchased a table runner, a decorative piece of blown glass art, 2 dog toys, a journal, tea spoons, Valentine's sprinkles, and KaPop vegan gluten free snacks (haven't seen them in any other store, and they are delicious). As you can see, quite a wide variety of items were found just in this one trip. The value for items found is also amazing. I got all of that for $61. The check out line was a little longer than normal, but my cashier, Lanny, was very friendly and efficient. The tea spoon set I found was missing one of the spoons, and she easily lowered the price to reflect the missing item without it being a big deal or slowing down the check out process. read more

This is my favorite Home Goods store because of Jennifer. So when you go, look for Jennifer she will help you out. Jennifer is easy to talk to, helpful in making suggestions and patient. I wanted a large rug for my living room. I had already looked for rugs at multiple places but i wanted something that felt good walking on barefoot. She gave me what to consider about a rug that size and explained their return policy of 60days..I think so I didnt have to feel like I would be stuck with a $200 rug that I hate. She also explained why I should consider a non-slip pad for the rug, the size I needed and even how to carry the rug to my upstairs living room. From my first interaction with Jennifer in mid-August, I came back many times to buy door rugs, a bench, a mirror, footstool, faux flower, etc. Each time I came back I looked for Jennifer to show her pictures of how it was all coming together and get her advice. I had a real orchid for my kitchen table (which died after 1 month) and when I showed Jennifer she showed me the Home Goods faux orchid option and I am so glad she did. I have always liked Home Goods, but I like Home Goods so much more when Jennifer is there because it's like coming to meet up to see a friend and get her opinion. read more

This store has become one of my happy places because I consistently discover items I didn't even realize I needed at such a great value. It maintains a consistently clean environment, and while I haven't had many interactions with sales associates on the floor, those at the register are always friendly. The aisles might be a tad narrow, a commonality among Homegoods stores, but the superior selection and offerings at this location make it my preferred choice over the Research Blvd one. No. Cashiers. Ever. I find myself walking out of here a lot without a purchase because of that. Employees are always friendly though.

I have been a fan of HomeGoods for years. I am a card holder and shop there often. This weekend, I was there with my little family. My 5 year old was feeling overly tired with the excessive heat outside so I put her in the cart and I was pushing her around as I shopped. At some point, as I was pushing her slowly, she stood up to adjust her seat area. The manager sees her standing up and approaches my 5 year old and say "Hey! you either sit down or get out of the cart." Honestly, I was so shocked for two reasons. 1. I was right there pushing the cart and she didn't speak to me, the parent, directly. 2. she spoke to my 5 year old SO rudely! I just looked at her and she continued to walk away. My husband was also there and he spoke to her about being kind. She never stopped for eye contact and continued to speak to the air stating her name and saying " I am the manager, go ahead and file a complaint" Again, I love the store and the inventory. Such experience killed the possibility of me ever entering the store. especially not with my kids. read more

My girlfriend and I were doing some Christmas shopping today and had such a bad experience with one of the managers at this home goods today. We were in the checkout line today and of course during this time of year the stores are super busy so, the line was long and as we were waiting we were obviously looking at the stuff on the little checkout shelves and this manager (her name is Cordillia btw) come up to us, yanked our cart out of the way and told the people behind us to go around us because we were "still shopping" I said "no ma'am we were ready to checkout we were just waiting for an open register..." she just ignored me and walked off and got back on a register. I was baffled at how totally rude she was and to then learn she was a manager! Totally unacceptable. read more

I have never had a bad experience at home goods until this afternoon. Manager/ Coordinator by the name of Cordelia (i'm not sure if i spelled that right) white female, about 5'6/5'7, slim build, 40-60 age range. She wore a floral top and if I'm not mistaken she had a floral print design shirt. When I walked in my family were in search of the sit down carts as I just had surgery and I am on crutches. We looked around and verbally stated what we were looking for. Cordelia looked back at us and stated the carts are right there you don't see them? We weren't talking to Cordelia at all when this occurred. We then went on to explain what we were looking for and Cordelia stated uh yeah we don't have those. Cordelia scoffed and walked away. At checkout I looked her away and looked down the floor. The VERY SWEET lady at checkout was able to give me her name, and stated she was coordinator of some sort. She also laughed and stated oh yeah a lot of people complain about her. This review may go nowhere and it more then likely won't but, homegoods why have someone on your team whose not friendly? This is a trinkets store. It has 'stuff' that are decorative and not very needful. I call stuff like this dust collectors. I'm not a dust collector decorator and hate a lot of trinkets in my house. I usually stop in just to browse for something to do. Some of their trinkets are pricey for what they are. For example, an old rusty toy car for $19.99. I guess you have to be into stuff like this; I'm not. After purchasing my $2.99 glass measuring cup, I was outta there. read more

I wanted to buy this item that had a piece that had come off of it. I asked a woman that worked there if I could get it discounted and she said sure but when I got up to the counter after waiting for 15 minutes In the line the manager named Lacy was up there and said there was NOTHING wrong with it because they all come like that! She didn't believe I talked to anyone so she called on her radio but no one answered to back me up so I must've been lying. I went here to finish up some Christmas shopping and buy a small artificial Christmas tree that I could put in the mail, and was successful on every front. Homegood's strength is their selection of different items- as the name implies they are like discount stores Marshalls, TJ Maxx etc., but they focus on home items only. Let me just start by saying the customer service at this location is horrible and in need of new staff. Ana (employee) looked to be a younger girl in her 20's was beyond rude to me when I tried to push a broken glass item (I did not break this item) to the side so the elderly woman behind me could walk passed without slipping and falling on it. I saw Ana walking up and moved to the side while she could sweep it up. She loudly said Leave that alone, Thank you! In the most disrespectful tone. I tried to explain myself but shortly noticed I shouldn't even give her the time of day. She then continued to walk behind the checkout counter and talk about me while customers checked out. May I add she was making the rudest faces at me while laughing with her manager behind the desk. The location smells bad at all times and carts in the middle of isles not unloaded. I've made many purchases in HomeGoods, but I won't be back after today. I purchased a candle last week, burned for 10 minutes and found that it had absolutely no smell. No one in the house could smell it. I brought it back with the receipt, not expecting a refund, but store credit or perhaps an exchange, as I've purchased many candles from HG and they all have a scent. My first cashier spoke to the manager about it and told me that they couldn't do anything. I decided to wait patiently for the manager to finish helping another customer so I could speak with her. When she saw me, she YELLED at the top of her voice, "MA'AM, DO YOU WANT TO TELL ME WHY YOU'RE BRINGING BACK A USED CANDLE FOR A REFUND?!" I told her I was simply waiting to visit with her about this when she was finished with the previous customer. There was no need to yell. I tried explaining the situation to her, and she replied that I didn't burn it long enough to tell. She then had the audacity to ask me if I had COVID. Finally, she grudgingly gave me store credit and didn't say another word. I've never returned a candle before, but there truly was no scent. Regardless, there was absolutely no need to address a customer in this way. She chose to yell at me in front of a long line of customers before she had even spoken to me about the issue. This is one of my favorite stores but I would avoid them until the pandemic is over because I've seen multiple people going in there without masks. I get that there's only so much they can do when the public won't comply with wearing a mask but I've also witnessed managers that work there that wear their mask below their nose. I even had to ask a woman before she rang me up if she could wear her mask over her nose before I felt comfortable with her ringing my purchases up. At the very least, I would expect managers and employees to wear masks. read more

If you've never been, think of Home Goods as the home goods you would typically find in TJ Maxx and Marshalls (which are both part of the portfolio). There are 4 Home Goods in the Austin area. To really understand the beauty of this store you need to drop by frequently, as they are constantly restocking. I always go shopping here. I went again today and the cashier asked me to donate money so many times. I refused to do it because I already donated for another organization and didn't feel to do it today but the cashier (old lady who has long curly hair) asked me again to round up the totals. LOVE the store BUT service was VERY poor on the evening we went (9-25-17). The bad service was from MAYCI. She was very rude and don't even think of not hearing her and asking her to repeat your total. She will repeat it and act as if you are bothering her. We were not "problem" customers either and I'm glad I was in a good mood that evening or she would have known what her bad attitude can get her. Hope she's in school for a job out of the public eye cause she has bad customer service skills. I hate scoring a low score based on one person but she does represent the store. I never expect to get good service from employees at most major shopping stores, but the employees here are amazing! They go above and beyond to help a customer. My fiancé and I bought a desk that had a few dings on it, we asked if we could get a small discount on it and the manager gave it to us without a hassle. This was the second interaction I've had with him (manager) and both times were incredibly pleasant. There was another little lady that helped us put our desk onto the back of a truck. First two times that I went the person checking me out was confused and had to have someone else finish the transaction.
