This dollar tree is located directly next to half-price books in a strip center. The things I like about this location is the fact that you can get greeting cards, gift bags, craft items and seasonal items cheaper than anywhere else in retail. They do offer a decent amount of food, snacks and seven refrigerator/freezer doors. They do have arts+ crafts supplies and you can get helium balloons for just a mere $1.50 each. Yes, the quality of the goods here may be lacking, but for no frills pricing you really can't beat it. read more

I enjoyed going to this Dollar tree for a few years, until recently. This new guy working at night, skinny guy with a cap. He's the rudest and most unfriendly person I've ever met. You can ask him questions about finding something, and he just ignores you. If you don't like your job, then quit! You don't have to be nasty and rude! And T who was checking me out had such a positive vibe that I really needed today. This is a large Dollar Tree, and it's organized differently than other Dollar Trees. If you don't mind walking throughout the entire store, you can find some good deals. The beverage selection is the biggest of any Dollar Tree I've seen. Sometimes the check out lines are very long, so I try to go in the mornings. read more

The selection is very poor here at this store- this after navigating thru sleeping homeless on the sidewalk out front the next door Half Price bookstore, having to deal with having only one cashier checking people out and lines back into the isles on a routine basis enough to where I noticed today while checking out that there IS a manager there who looks like a crackhead herself and hides in the manager office. Today I saw her, she FINALLY came out and checked out a huge line of people behind me. Not my lucky day to get a break. THEN after she relieved the line she went back to hiding... or so I thought. Oh no, her friend was outside or was it someone else (not insinuating a deal being made) but looked suspicious IMHO. This used to be my favorite Dollar Tree closest to home. It's really gone downhill, starting with super slow cashier(s), IF you're lucky enough to find more than one line open. They used to have a decent manager, but now it seems to be facing questionable management (overheard a couple of conversations that made me smh in both this store & the one at Tech Ridge). Lately there are pretty bare shelves go with the $1.25+ price jump. Not really their fault, with all the supply chain issues... but still it's a PITA when I drive an hour round trip, only to find very, very little Christmas decor left in early Dec.. I also hate the $3 & $5 items, because now I have to watch what I'm picking up. The pandemic has definitely taken its toll on all the Dollar Tree stores (all stores, really) that I used to frequent. The one at Tech Ridge being the absolute worst these days, & the one in Georgetown being the best one, now. But Georgetown's quite the trek for me from Manor, especially to hit up the Dollar Tree. I save that one for when I need to go to several stores in the area. Overall, I still enjoy the bargains at Dollar Tree like bread, pink salt, food storage containers, gift bags, kitchen utensils, crafting supplies, & holiday decor (shop EARLY, well before the season). Is Dollar Tree still my favorite store to pop into multiple times a week? No, not really. I do try to go once every month, or so, these days... Part of that is the rattiness of the stores, & part is because of Covid, the store's tight confines, & long lines. read more

This is our favorite Dollar Tree in north Austin. This morning we stocked up on mixed nuts, peanut butter cracker sandwiches, cheez nips, choco chip animal crackers, and butter cookies. We also got a few birthday cards since we found they have the best. I noticed they have Clif Bars too which is a good value. We chatted it up with Kent when we were checking out and he thanked us for shopping and said he has worked hard trying to turn this store around. read more

The cashiers are the slowest I have ever experienced! It's ridiculous! There are never more than one cashier no matter how busy they are. It's so annoying! I would give no stars if that was an option! This place has gone downhill in the past 10 years and at its worst now. read more

I realize that this is just a dollar store and I shouldn't expect much for a dollar store but when I'm paying for products and I'm at the register you would think that the woman at the register will take a little bit more time and effort to wrap the glass products that I'm purchasing. She didn't even greet me she didn't really acknowledge me barely even talk to me in fact her whole Persona or Vibe she was giving off was just totally not customer service. I don't know why this works but it does: Take some kids to Dollar Tree, offer each of them any five or ten things they want, and then watch them go nuts. I did this at parties in lieu of gift bags, and was usually surprised by their choices: You'd expect cheap toys and knick-knacks, but stoneware mugs? Picture frames? Sunglasses and screwdrivers? I learned a lot from those ventures. I do the same thing with adults occasionally, and the difference is they'll scoff and chortle momentarily at the suggestion, and then take forever to look at every single item in the place, like they were on some magical mystery tour in China. It's cheap and amusing fun. I go to four Dollar Trees in Austin, and this store on Parmer seems bigger than the Burnet one, and definitely larger than the one in Lakeline Mall or the Target-Dong Nai location on Ben White. Since I don't get food items here (just don't wanna), the smaller stores seem to have everything I need or want like the larger ones. I heart and liver Dollar Tree because it houses the major resources for my current surge against conventionality. For instance, I realized recently that I've spent my entire life using one bar of soap at a time. Well WTF, who wrote that rule? So I went to Dollar Tree for a dozen soap holders, returned home, and within minutes they were strewn artistically throughout the walls of my bath. Now of course, each morning beckons me with a dazzling array of delicious scents and colors, and somedays might even be a two-soap day, like lavender for my left side and rose for the right, or perhaps a more subtle pairing for the upper and lower areas of interest. If you can't have fun with soap during your life, then really, what's the point? read more

First time in a Dollar Tree store that I know of, and I came away amazed at the array, selection, and quality of the items you could get for $1. I came across nearly half a dozen Sudoku and Crossword puzzle books for my dad for Christmas pleasers. And I rounded out the 2009 Calendar shopping with several for me, my family, and friends. I picked up a great USB extension cable and a set of funnels I really needed badly and was about to pay full price for at Container Store. Not to mention a couple of other cool items like a "God Bless The USA" car magnet (mine's getting faded) and some microwave plate covers. I left here spending about $15, but had to come back for more after visiting Big Lots! next door. The identical calendars Dollar Tree had for $1 were several dollars more just a couple of doors down. I was always skeptical of this store, but now I'm a big fan. If you don't have good self-control, don't go in. But if you do, you'll find some fantastic bargains in a clean, well-lit, and well-organized discount store. read more

Cashier Shelley here has very bad customer service, she would not give me a receipt because I did not buy "more than 5 items" she threw the products I bought into a bag and shoved them at me after barking some nonsensical gripe about not having to enter my PIN number on the credit card swipe. Walking around the store, there are: - Small stuffed animals - Puzzles - Lots of kids toys - Stationery - Greeting cards - Teacher paper-based supplies - Party supplies - Cleaning supplies (I bought a nice 3-gal bucket that Walmart sells for $2.) - Photo frames - Tupperware - Sponges (In fact, I can't find these types of sponges in supermarkets.) - Watches - Cases for electronics (I bought a good camera case.) - Hardware - Duct tape - Sandpaper - Pet supplies - Food - T-shirts and socks - Laundry supplies (I bought a pop-up mesh hamper.) - Kitchen and dining supplies Many of the packages in the electronics section have labels like "This product is known to contain harmful chemicals" so check the labels on whatever you're interested in. I deducted a star for being overpriced on some things. This Dollar Tree is located in the huge shopping center on the Northeast corner of the Mopac and Parmer intersection. When i moved into my own official place last month, dollar tree was a great place for me to start with buying basic necessities for the new pad. Not top quality, but when it comes to basic kitchen and bathroom supplies, its a great place to get you started. Everything is literally a dollar. This is also one of the only places (dollar general chain stores only) that carry "Awesome." Literally the most powerful and satisfying household cleaner youll ever find. Or need for that matter, because with the right water to awesome ratio (includes chart that covers anything you could need it for), it can become a cleaner for anything!! I feel a bit weird writing a Yelp review for a dollar store, but this location is exceptional and we want to spread the word. My wife and I are budget shoppers (she's better at it than I am). We know what kinds of things are better to buy at a regular store and what places are absolute steals if you can get them from a place like Dollar Tree. That said, some Dollar Tree stores carry items that others do not, and even if they do, they're often cleaned out like a store after Black Friday. This Dollar Tree is as good as it gets. It is BY FAR the cleanest one we've ever seen (and we've seen and visited MANY across the country). Most dollar stores look like a train wreck no matter when you go, but this one is always perfectly stocked and organized at all hours of the day, and it's a reflection of the management and staff. They deserve mad props, especially because a Dollar Tree isn't an establishment where you'd be expecting such an attention to detail. Also, as a person who is obsessed with candy, this one has the best candy section I've ever seen. I can't avoid stocking up with the excuses of "it's too expensive", "hey don't have what I'm looking for", "I need to exercise self-control", etc. like I do at other stores. It's a terrible curve and a blessing at the same time. In short, this Dollar Tree is exceptional because: -Super clean -Super organized -Always well-stocked -Friendly staff -Best candy section ever (especially since it's close to a few movie theaters!) -Has a cold food section (not many Dollar Trees have one) -Huge greeting card section -Extensive medicine/first aid section (more stuff = more chances to actually have stuff there worth getting) -Great location, close to the highway. I'm not usually a huge dollar store shopper, but sometimes you just don't want to pay more than $1 for certain things--cleaning supplies, wrapping paper, stuff to keep kids entertained, etc. The thing I love about all Dollar Trees is that every single item is no more than $1. Imagine that--a dollar store charging (no more than) a dollar per item. Most other "dollar stores" don't seem to understand this concept. Frugality FTW. I feel the need to brag about how IF I wanted a 20 piece assorted-color dinnerware set I could get it here for twenty dollars. There are a lot of novelties, this dollar tree is 1/4 party store. My boyfriend was able to find a few good-reviewed hardback books there too. These books were completely new and you really couldn't get a better deal anywhere else, not even on Amazon. We spent like an hour in the store scavenging for things we could use. What we came up with were: the books, a couple of SUPER cute geisha coin banks, a mug, a mop, a broom, spic'span cleaning gloves and spray, a 300 piece Cinderella jigsaw puzzle, a binder, a mini zen garden (with stones and sand), paint supplies (paint roller & handle) and I forget the rest. read more

For the most part... And it is Dollar Tree we are talking about.. This location isn't bad at all. I actually appreciate the cleanliness and organization of this store over most others I've been to. They seem to have much more in stock and more of a variety of items.... When I want something specific, I come here. I'm usually not disappointed. Staff is OK. Likely due to low wages.. This dollar tree was such a pleasant surprise! They offer more than the basic stock at most dollar trees. I was there to buy bubble wrap and ended up leaving with $20 worth of stuff. The food section offers brands that are recognizable (like the same stuff HEB sells). Over all I would recommend this location. read more

Zero stars should be allowed to be given - if I could give negative stars it would be a negative 10. The two times I've ever been in this location I had the WORST customer service by members of management. The first time (a little over a year ago) I was told by the manager on duty I couldn't be helped with something I was looking for because she was "just a Black woman trying to make a living!" I'm still not sure how that had to do with my search for a product. Recently I went in to do an exchange from another location and the manager, Sam, told me they wouldn't do any exchanges and that he gets to decide when they can make exchanges. I told him I was shocked at his immediate response and that this was terrible customer service. I asked for a written policy stating his claim. He told me to stop harassing him and CALLED THE COPS!!!! What on earth? As far as value, it's a Dollar Store, don't think that anyone can say that the prices are a problem. The problem with this store is that it is in a hot bed, which means there's normally a good amount of foot traffic. Why they only have 2 employees to deal with the entire store is beyond me. I went to go return a couple items tonight. While waiting in line I witnessed the cashier next to me send the customer who was checking out to the parking lot not once but twice to go flag down another customer who had already checked out and had forgotten a few items. I then checked out with a different cashier and when I handed her my couple of items and my receipt she replies "ummm no. You can go get a couple of items to exchange, but we can't do refunds" I showed her that I had the receipt and had only purchased the items a few days prior but she once again told me they don't do returns. This was probably the worst customer service ever. I would recommend avoiding this location at all costs!!! read more

This location. Is awful. We came Monday and asked about New Years decorations, the general manager told us it would be put out by 10am Tuesday. We arrived Wednesday and still no decorations. The manager on duty was not helpful. She was rude and condescending to my sister. No help at all. The store is always a mess and the employees all have attitudes.
