Though I wasn't really looking for any new apparel, the window dressing on this store drew me in. Once in, wow! So many different styles and sizes, really something to suit everybody. You can start with the beautiful shoes, and then move over to look at the various unique displays throughout the store. I found purses, jackets, and other items. Very difficult to leave the store without buying something, and I found something small enough to fit in my suitcase:) It appears as though they rotate the offerings pretty frequently. Really great designers at low prices. The first thing you may ask yourself upon entering is "what is this place" or "where did everything come from" Apparently, they get items in daily from designers, other stores, sample sales or who knows where else. Everything is new, and if you go through all of the racks, you are likely to find a low cost, brand new designer item that will be going home with you. I can't possibly name all the great designers I see or like there, but Tarte, Lisa Marie Fernandez, Zanella, Moussy, Sundays, Sundry, McQueen and other designer items come in and out. Shoes, jewelry, belts, dresses and bags all get stocked. UAL carries men's things as well, just less than women's. I've found awesome sweatshirts, t-shirts, blazers and shoes for men. Lots of cool street wear for both men and women. There is even a small section of home decor items toward the back. Throws, pillows, that sort of thing. If you like designer fashion, don't want to pay full price and have the time and interest to go through the racks here at UAL, it will be a worthwhile outing. My only complaint, and this keeps me from leaving a 5 star review. Is that some of the items I've purchased here have quickly fallen apart. Not many, but a few. The return policy is short, so just take special care in looking over any garment before you walk out with it. read more

I stopped by on a recent Saturday, and while I may not have purchased anything, I was really impressed with this store. They have an amazing selection of designer clothing that's clearly 1 to 2 seasons old. So you're getting almost straight off the runway items. for designer goods, the prices are a bargain. Update: The store credited me $50 to cover the tailoring!!! Changed from 1 star to 3 stars! I used to love this store and would bring my family and friends here when they visited. The clothes are beautiful, but recently I bought 4 pieces for $380 and 3/4 have fallen apart before even wearing them. The dress tore up the seam, the pants are splitting and the pants are pilling. I returned to the store after I realized and made them aware of the issue. The manager stared at me blankly and informed me "if you ruined the clothes, there is nothing we can do." I'm not sure what type of training is conducted for employees but respect and understanding are surely not integrated. I decided visit the tailor on North Lamar (great woman) and asked her if these can be repaired and she said yes but advised me to try to get some sort of compensation first since these clothes have not been worn and the pants still have tags on them. I mustered up the confidence to go back in and I received the same treatment- blank stares. "There is nothing we can do." Embarrassingly, I broke down into tears since $380 is not a small amount of money to have thrown down the drain. It wasn't until then that they offered to take my number down on a posted note to escalate to another manager. I received a text today (attached) and am hoping they do right by me (and all future customers). I intend to remove this review and/or provide an update if this is resolved. Again, I love the store, I have so much fun shopping there and I always bring my friends here because they have great finds, but until I see a true respect for their customer base, I cannot recommend this store to anyone. read more

The service and selection of the New Orleans stores is superb. I make a special stop to UAL whenever I'm in town. Their carry a range of styles and prices points and their shoe selections is better than all competitors in the resale space. He manages this location and his attention to detail, amazing customer service, and all around good nature really shines at this specific UAL location. Used to love this store when they had great staff (2016-covid). We had conversations, they suggested and recommended me a lot of great stuff, and I could easily spent thousands of dollars. I came back a couple of months ago. I didn't see any familiar faces. No one greeted me, not even a "Hello". I contacted the previous employee and heard disturbing news about how these employees were treated. I have stopped coming since then. A FTR in Austin on SoCo? It's unheard of. On my latest trip I took my gf to shop and walk around in SoCo. It's fairly new to me since when I actually attended school here I never stepped foot in this area. But the last couple of times I've been back I have to stop by this area for lunch and obligatory post meal walk to digest whatever delicious food we have ingested. Now most of the shops along SoCo are a particular taste this spot is actually high end designer brands at a discounted price. Reason? They get a lot of new items from stores that they couldn't sell or is slightly damaged. It's still new with tags but not necessarily this season. What caught my gf's eye was the Jimmy Choos in the window. I just figured it was a high end thrift shop. But upon entering I was shocked that everything is new, with high discounts. They even had Channel bags on discount! Still outside of our budget but at 20-30% off it was a little bit closer to being a reality. I ended up buying a dress shirt that was almost 70% off. I'll have to check them out the next time I'm back in Austin. Apparently, they are constantly getting new items. read more

I'm wearing a shirt ($20) and a bracelet cuff ($?) from this place right now. The bracelet has a baby elephant on it with jeweled eyes and feet**. It is as amazing as it sounds, kind of like Tame Impala's Elephant, which you should listen to for the remainder of this review. This is the kind of place you do want everyone to go to (to keep them in business) but only after you've stopped in on Shipment Day. I meant to ask when that is, for the aforementioned purpose, but got distracted with a tan-gray and hot pink pair of amazing Fossil wedges ($41). Hot. Pink. Pause. ... G found a pair of bright yellow swimming trunks for $14. No one sells trunks at that price besides Walmart. We all know Walmart is the evil, and that their swimming trunks would mayhaps disintegrate in the body of water of your choice. $14 for something designer that a haughty person would say is "so last season" is so economically spot on to me. And you know what happens when it was just recently fashion week and they have extra giveaway bags for the media that they want to hand out, and they remembered me from stopping in a few days earlier so I get a coveted bag? Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses that will perish terribly in my purse and are splendiferous, plus some makeup stuff I have no idea how to use but that's ok. The absolute worst experience I've ever had in a retail space. I'm not even exaggerating. I looked this place up on Yelp and thought I'd stop in. It sounded cool and I always like supporting local. I hit the sale rack and found a cute pair of shoes. The lady working asked if I wanted to try them on so I did. The shoes were a little small, it was clear, but the lady said they looked great and not too small and talked me into getting them. I only tried one shoe on and didn't even get to walk in them. While in another store within walking distance, I tried the shoes on again to get my friends advice; the shoes were too small. I didn't think it'd be an issue to bring them back as it had only been maybe 20 minutes since I'd been in the store. I go back into the store to get a refund and the lady is happy to help. We start the process and then a man working there, tall, dark hair, mustache (don't know his name) was INCREDIBLY rude and said they do not accept refunds. I then told him that the policy was never told to me upon purchasing. He said he could only do store credit. I told him I'm not from Austin and can't shop here again and he told me I could order online through their Instagram to redeem the gift card. Truly unbelievable. The lady who had originally helped me even said "I'm sorry for talking you into getting these," and the man was not understanding AT ALL. He was Incredibly rude and condescending. I've never been treated so abhorrently in a store before. It was mortifying. So now I'm stuck with this stupid gift card for $80 that I can't even redeem because I don't like their clothes and none of the shoes are even in my size. I plan on disputing the charge with my bank. Anyway, save yourself from going to this place; outdated pieces, seriously, just because the tag says Prabal Gurung doesn't mean it's fashionable, and the staff thinks just because they sell SOME designer pieces they can be rude to anyone that walks in their door. Great place if you like to hunt for high end fashion. Proenza, Oscar, Chloe, etc. Excellent prices especially when they have a sale. I had fun looking at all the shoes, jewelry and clothes and the staff was helpful. Keep in mind they are liquidators so you must inspect each item very carefully for flaws. Their policy is store credit only, no refunds. Must exchange within 7 days. I got a pair of Alexandre Birman heels and the soles looked a tiny bit scuffed but otherwise perfect. A suede bag I liked was missing a small grommet so I passed on it. Most items say "as is," if imperfect. I got some great jewelry for a steal. The majority of items looked new and are recent season. If you love fashion you will surely find something here to spice up your closet. Definitely a great place to find a luxury treasure for an awesome price! read more

This store is an adventure... there's couture extravagancies mixed in with basic, one-tone maxi dresses... you'll also find dresses that only size -40 girls could fit into before a night on the town with their sugar daddy. I stop in only occasionally and usually pick up a few fun items (a strappy demi cup dress comes to mind) and classy items for my life as a business lady (soft button-downs, pencil skirts). It can be hit or miss since they're a liquidator... some garments are absolutely horrid, and others might be wonderful but only available in XL. The prices are often still fairly high, sure, but it's worth it to go for quality over quantity for a few good wardrobe pieces... and you'll find great deals. I went in most recently during their clearance sale (before they moved locations) and got a $500 skirt for $100... and other things were marked down to $12 from $100. It's pretty awesome to browse and see what you can find. read more

Went to UAL and scored some really, really good deals! Merchandising is not so hot, but at least it's not like you have to dig through bins for a good deal. There is a lot of casual knit wear, decent selection of trendy jeans and a good bit of blouses, skirts and dresses. Also have accessories: shoes, bags, belts, jewelry. I already tore off the tickets, so I'm a little fuzzy on the original prices: Jenni Kayne flats $59 originally $350? Rag & Bone jeans $25 originally $200? Moschino embellished cotton tee $30 originally ?? Harvey Faircloth shorts $30 originally $180? All of my items were the farthest mark downs, which had the strictest return policies (which I don't exactly recall because I knew I was holding on to all of my pieces). read more

This is just about the best high end discount clothing store in ATX, much better than the San Marcos or Round Rock Premium Outlets if you're looking for smaller boutique brands. As a guy, there's really not any budget friendly options for high end clothing in Austin. You can go to Neiman Marcus or Nordstroms and pay full price or you can go to places like ByGeorges and STAG and hope for a 20% off sale. Here, everything seems to be at least 50% off, most of the time 75% off retail. I like brands such as Rag & Bone, Alternative Apparel, Joe's Jeans, etc. Unfortunately, none of these brands have specialty stores in Austin where they have ridiculous end of the season sales. At UAL, a pair of 7 for All Mankind or Joe's jeans was like $50-70, an Alternative sweater was $30, etc. I saw a pair of raw APC's for $50 once. It's like paying mall price for much better clothes. Just be sure to stop by often because there really isn't much in the Men's section, especially for smaller sizes. I usually drop by here everytime I'm around in SoCo because I usually find something really awesome here. read more

This has to be the best value ever for high end fashion. Primarily for women with a small amount of men's wear. It is the only way I can afford four figure fashions with a three figure price tag. The sizes were all off and nothing looked like it was currently in season. There was a $5-$10 section of items which was cool except I grabbed a bunch of stuff and didn't try it on and it ended up looking horrible. So I guess that's kinda my fault anyway. There was one staff member who helped me and was really nice. There was another staff member that was super annoying and loud and I couldn't get away from her chatter. I stumbled into UAL while I was waiting for Mrs. P's food truck to open. What a great shop! All of the items are new (and designer), but seriously discounted. Some of the designer brands they carry are : Marc Jacobs, Jimmy Choo, Chloe, Alice and Olivia, Moschino, Gryson, Lanvin, Rag and Bone, Kenneth Jay Lane, and much more. The prices are OUTRAGEOUSLY good. Even way better than what you might see at Last Call or Nordstrom Rack. I walked out with two pair of designer earrings and three bracelets for $40!!!! There were about three other shoppers in there at the same time, and we all had that "kid in a candy shop" giddiness about our finds! What a great addition to the neighborhood! Sitting at the grilled cheese stand we happened to see my cousin drive by, said she was going to some Apparel store by Mrs P's with her boyfriend to pick up some beard oil (Apparently this place is the only place that sells some magical beard oil in Austin). We went on over and WHO IN THE WORLD HAS BEEN HIDING THIS PLACE FROM ME?! This store is AWESOME. We weren't there for long at all, I didn't get a chance to really look around and shop the clothes. But I did spot a Chanel wallet next to a Chloe wallet I'd love (hint hint). A Chloe bag and a few Marc Jacobs bags (not a Marc by Marc, but a Marc Jacobs). They have cute jewelry. Current Elliot clothes for CHEAP! I'm talking pants for like $50-$80. I know they have a bunch of good designer items in store, I just didn't get much of a chance to look. Their stuff isn't used so it isn't like a consignment store, it's all brand new. Redic. Like a high end nordstrom rack. I was in austin for sxsw this past week , driving down congress after eating and almost broke my neck when I saw this sign! They finally opened up a Texas location. I love UAL! Used to live in Nashville and would frequently visit so I was very familiar with the brand. Scored big time too! Theory blazer and a dope printed bucket hat. Selena was so sweet and helpful. Really all the girls were. The chanel bag was out of my budget but I tried on a sharpppppp alc jumpsuit that wasn't in my size and they assisted me in finding it at another store so quickly. I've lived in Austin for two years and a half and never knew about this store, until I went to explore more of Soco. I've made two purchases here so far and love everything (shoes, clothes, and accessories). Everything was also at such a good price, and their deals are awesome. My first stop in SoCo, and what a successful shopping trip! Everything is 70-90% off, and when I went jewelry was 30% off. I went kind of crazy here, and they even offered to ship it to my apartment in New York since I literally bought my whole summer and some fall wardrobe here. Don't listen to the review that says things were damaged. Nothing I saw was damaged. The girls working there were also helpful too. Loved it, and would wanna come back.
