I came here to look for office supplies for my business. I must admit, they sell a lot of different things. I didnt know that, and it was a very nice surprise. I found some things I wasn't looking for, but that I needed and wanted. I saw beautiful pieces I wanted just for myself, like separate or broken jewelry pieces--a clasp here for a necklace or a link for a watch. Also, I recently picked up an old knitting habit and wanted to replace some old yarn. It was nice to see an area dedicated to yarn, other crafts, and other hobbies. I can say I really got lost inside the store, discovering so much. I saw some frames to purchase to make a gallery wall. So, I will say this: if you need to revise a place or restock on some office supplies, please come here. Ohhh emmm geee... this place is amazing! I've been wanting to check this place out for a long time and for some reason it never worked out. But Sunday it was meant to be. This place made my artsy creative heart happy, but also made my need for things to not go to waste happy. Literally any craft project you can think of, they're going to have supplies for it and they're going to be dirt cheap! They also have greeting cards, They also have seasonal decor, jewelry, vintage items, stationary, frames, the list could go on forever. I was looking to make some Christmas decorations for cheap, and I've heard great things about this business. I was able to find some fabric scraps and needlepoint material for a surprisingly cheap. Everything in the store seemed very reasonably priced. Plus, the variety of materials was impressive. They have so much different craft supplies, and it's all neatly organized. I heard about this place on Tiktok so I wanted to come see how it was. This store has all sorts of stuff and it's well curated so not endless piles of junk. It's all organized by what it is in sections and each section has bins that are clearly labeled. This is nice! However there are so many sections and so many people that it's overwhelming. I came for one thing but they didn't have much of anything for that. It's fine tho. Can't win them all. I'll come back but maybe earlier in the day so the crowds might be less. I absolutely love this Austin gem. Secondhand arts and crafts GALORE!! You can get anything and everything for your projects. They also have volunteering to sort donated materials or organize and cut fabrics. Prices are very reasonable! Most things I get are 25 cents or a dollar. read more

I brought the wife here for her crafting thrift store fix. You can consider this business the "Goodwill" of craft supplies, or the Restore of gently used donated artistic materials. It has been at this location for 5 or so years. There's about 10,000 ft.² of retail space inside and almost as much in their receiving and donation area. At the rear of the building is a spacious classroom where some of the volunteers teach classes or workshops. They do take donations of all kinds of fabrics, picture frames, tools, carpet remnants and anything associated with craft or art supplies. Half of the folks that work here are volunteers, and the other half are paid staff, which are paid from the sale of all the goods. So if you're into digging through countless bins, or looking for that unique fabric, this place is for you. Lots of photos included. read more

This is more than a great store; it's a community service. They will take all that weird stuff that individuals and companies no longer need, they keep it out of the landfill, and make it available to artists, crafters, junksters, and anyone who wanders in. I stop in regularly, whether I "need" anything or not, and I rarely leave empty-handed. I've found everything from office supplies to photo paper to art supplies and a few things I can't even categorize. They operate with volunteers and some paid staff, all of whom are incredibly friendly and helpful. This is Austin at its best. read more

There are limitations in selection, which is obviously because everything is donated. I've been meaning to visit for over a year now and finally got to go! I was planning on making a charm bracelet and was pleasantly surprised by the selection of jewelry and chain they had. I got a few bracelets for $3 each and a pair of stud earrings for $1.50. I took a walk around and was further impressed by the large selection and random items they had. This place is a gem. Truly a crafters paradise. I literally don't know anywhere else where you can walk in and just look through aisles upon aisles of absolutely random assorted donated items, that you can reuse for your own crafts. I love it! So sustainable. And the store itself is such a vibe. They make a lot of their own decor, and I love that they have little workshops every now and then to make different stuff. I love this place. Austin Creative Reuse opened in 2016, and moved to its new larger location at the beginning of covid. I came to make a donation and received a tax deductible receipt. While there, I purchased an entire bag full of Christmas gift boxes, bags, and cards for a total of $6. Why shop the dollar bins at Target for gift bags when you can purchase gift bags at Austin Creative Reuse for only 25 cents? You do have to check each bag for holes and worn color before you buy it. At the end of your purchase, you have the option to tip and donate to the non-profit organization. All of the merchandise and packaged items are labeled and sold on the floor for no more than five months. If the item hasn't sold within five months it is donated to a thrift store or recycled. You can be assured all of the items (except gift bags) on the sales floor are fresh. I enjoyed the Pet Shop Boys and Tears for Fears albums playing over the speakers. read more

I about had heart failure when I walked in the door and saw all the yarn! Then I went around the corner and saw even more yarn! And knitting needles. And crochet hooks. And more knitting needles, the circular Style. This is a Crafters dream store! The stuff is used but still usable. Many things are still new. I ended up with two grocery bags full of yarn that will work great for my various projects for preemies, scarves for soldiers Etc. It's a shame the place is so far from where my daughter lives, where I am staying. What with traffic and wrong turns it took me almost an hour to get here but it was well worth the trip. WELL worth it. I I was so excited the ladies probably thought I was nutso. They were closing in half an hour by the time I got here so I felt pretty rushed. I hope I have a chance to get back here again before I leave town. In the meantime I have plenty of materials to work with. read more

This is the perfect place to START your craft journey. I bought a grocery bag of used art supplies for under $10.00. My last set of brand new colored pencils cost me almost $50.00. So yes this is a cute thrifty shop filled with art and junk. It takes some sifting but there's plenty of good stuff hidden in the rubble. The store is well organized and very friendly staff eager to find you a deal on what you're looking for. I got a working glue gun and a stapler for 0.25 cents apiece! There's even a section in the back where you can fill a Home Depot bucket with stuff for 5 bucks. So for any crafty thing you need to do, I would start your journey here and then go to your art supply store (Jerrys!) to fill in your needs. You will literally save hundreds of dollars.
