But the best thing here are the lessons by Carrie Au. I'm a teacher myself and I can recognize an excellent teacher and Carrie is absolutely that. With just two lessons from her, I was able to basically do everything I needed to make 90% of what I could ever want to make. I then had spent a couple of months crocheting different things and came back for another more advanced lesson. Carrie knows all the yarn arts and can do things both right and left handed. And she has so many helpful tips that she's learned from experience that I never saw on any YouTube video or website tutorial (and in fact there are popular things out there i learned from her were NOT good things to do). If you want to learn (crochet or knitting), so worth coming here to take lessons (beginner through advanced). The other benefit is that their yarns and hooks are good quality so if you start here, you'll have such a better time and be more likely to continue.

What an excellent little shop! Much more intimate and less distracting than going to Joann's or another big box store. The little place was loaded with all sorts of great prints that I certainly haven't seen elsewhere. I quickly loaded up my hand with 14 different fat quarters, dreaming of projects that one day may or may not come into fruition. Such is the way! What I especially liked was the old school furniture tucked away in places throughout the store. I saw a couple of old Singers with their lovely polished wood, and they made excellent use of old cubbies for letter sorting. I'm a mild antique buff (rubbed off on me from my dad and his mother) and appreciate when something old finds a new home and use. The cubbies were filled with 4x6 postcards of fun quilts you could try, with the design on the glossy front and the instructions on the back. I believe these were free of charge, to help give customers inspiration. Too neat! There was an ample selection of colors as well as more exciting fabrics. Many floral designs and stately or muted tones of browns. Definitely good for finding a fabric to coordinate with but not detract from your main piece. I picked up a couple of plaids, which are always useful. There was a seasonal section (currently loaded with Christmas fabrics) that I imagine likely rotates throughout the year. There was a sale section for bolts that were running low, and cheapo $5 baggies of various fabrics that mix well. There was a section with felt and a small amount of flannel. Lots and lots and lots of bagged/boxed sets to choose from that have everything you need for a particular design (not my cup of tea-- designing my own piecing is highly satisfying to me). You'll also find other helpful items like thread, buttons, cutters, and the like. A space in the back with a large table for various lessons/classes (looked like there was one going on while we were browsing, but I didn't want to disturb them). Cute little locally owned boutique near Drip Highschool off of 290 behind Railroad BBQ…read more Been meaning to come here for over a year since seeing the huge billboard when driving east on 290 from Fredericksburg when we first moved to town. Friendly staff, this place has a little bit of everything. Boutique baby items, funny cards, lotions and sprays, high end PJ's, dresses/tops (Johnny Was), toy section for that last minute bday gift (Legos, books, other toys) and you don't want to go all the way into Bee Cave or Austin to get it. They also have a whole area in the back if you are in the need of reupholstering your house goods with many different fabrics and textures. We came during Christmas break so they had a seasonal section in the front of the store that was on sale post xmas. Plenty of parking, easy in/out as its right off 290. Eat some bbq, then walk over to work off those meat lbs and shop afterwards. Support local!

The shop is always well stocked with all the tools and glazes needed, and you can buy bulk clay in a wide variety of firing ranges, and also non fired clay. Also has glass tools and supplies. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They can also order in equipment, (like kilns) so even if it's not on the floor, you can still get it. Their website lists all their myriad services and items. Doesn't matter if you are a professional, or just starting out, this is the place to check out!

I had a lesson to learn more about my embroidery machine today but the person never showed up. When…read moreI signed up for the lesson I was told to bring everything for my machine so I got everything all packed up and got to the store a little early to get set up. When I walked in a lady showed me to the table in the back so I could set up and so I set my machine up and waited. and waited and waited for over 30 minutes and no one came. There were a number of other ladies talking by the cash register who were all in eye shot but I never got an update on where the teacher was. I packed up my things and left walking in the middle of everyone and none of the employees said a thing. I was looking forward to learning how to properly use my embroidery machine so I could take more embroidery classes but that will not be happening here. I will not be going back. Very disappointing.
