I heard about this place on Tiktok so I wanted to come see how it was. This store has all sorts of stuff and it's well curated so not endless piles of junk. It's all organized by what it is in sections and each section has bins that are clearly labeled. This is nice! However there are so many sections and so many people that it's overwhelming. I came for one thing but they didn't have much of anything for that. It's fine tho. Can't win them all. I'll come back but maybe earlier in the day so the crowds might be less. Parking can be hard with the crowds.

I brought the wife here for her crafting thrift store fix. You can consider this business the "Goodwill" of craft supplies, or the Restore of gently used donated artistic materials. It has been at this location for 5 or so years. There's about 10,000 ft.² of retail space inside and almost as much in their receiving and donation area. At the rear of the building is a spacious classroom where some of the volunteers teach classes or workshops. They do take donations of all kinds of fabrics, picture frames, tools, carpet remnants and anything associated with craft or art supplies. Half of the folks that work here are volunteers, and the other half are paid staff, which are paid from the sale of all the goods. So if you're into digging through countless bins, or looking for that unique fabric, this place is for you. Lots of photos included.

I've heard many good things about this place and glad I checked it out. I've gotten into junk journaling recently and this was a great place to find unique pieces to add to my journal. Reasonable prices too!

Frames for my upcoming photo show--$3 each! You never know what you'll find here.

This is more than a great store; it's a community service. They will take all that weird stuff that individuals and companies no longer need, they keep it out of the landfill, and make it available to artists, crafters, junksters, and anyone who wanders in. I stop in regularly, whether I "need" anything or not, and I rarely leave empty-handed. I've found everything from office supplies to photo paper to art supplies and a few things I can't even categorize. They operate with volunteers and some paid staff, all of whom are incredibly friendly and helpful. This is Austin at its best.

Not sure what to do with that extra tarn you have you got during the pandemic when you decided that knitting is your calling and then giving up after only 2 days in? Take it to ACR. This place is soo much fun. It's the goodwill of crafts. Before buying all the materials new for your new craft fling, consider coming here and seeing if they have the supplies you need. Or not sure what craft to do, meander around the store and find your next project here. This weekend they had a kids maker's market. They were all soo good and had wonderful crafts. But It was hard picking only one thing from one kid's market.

I cannot believe it took me so long to check this wonderful local gem out. Austin Creative Reuse has been on my "must check out" local list for quite a while. I'm not even exaggerating, I have returned twice after my first trip, all within the same week. Creative Reuse is such a gem to the community and the planet, breathing new life into donated crafting materials and providing them at affordable prices. You'll be shocked at how large this establishment is, and if you go in with a project in mind, you can find almost anything you need here in this wonderful assortment of knick knacks. It's truly surprising how so many little things you need for a project can be found here, stored and organized in bins and crafting sections. This can be especially great if you're working within a budget, such as an educator with a project in mind for your classroom, or towing in your children for a fun family project to craft together. There are limitations in selection, which is obviously because everything is donated. I'm a knitter, and so searching in the bins of yarn can both be fun and quite a search to find the type of yarn I'm looking for my next project. But with the amazing prices that are difficult to beat and what this establishment does for the community and environment, it's completely worth visiting and supporting! So if you have craft supplies or fabrics that are unused, please donate them here, and if you have the crafting itch, check this place out for your next project!

I've been meaning to visit for over a year now and finally got to go! I was planning on making a charm bracelet and was pleasantly surprised by the selection of jewelry and chain they had. I got a few bracelets for $3 each and a pair of stud earrings for $1.50. I took a walk around and was further impressed by the large selection and random items they had. I urge you to stop here first before starting any craft or project, because they probably have what you need for a very good price. They have items from funnels for $0.25 to empty makeup compacts, picture frames, screws, everything!

This place is a gem. Truly a crafters paradise. I literally don't know anywhere else where you can walk in and just look through aisles upon aisles of absolutely random assorted donated items, that you can reuse for your own crafts. I love it! So sustainable. And the store itself is such a vibe. They make a lot of their own decor, and I love that they have little workshops every now and then to make different stuff. I personally have not gone to one yet, but I want to! I can spend hours in here. Coolest little store in town.

I gave away all my old patterns, and am sorry I did. Does Austin Creative Reuse carry older Mcalls, Butterick, Vogue, Simplicity dress, blouse patterns?

I was there last week and I noticed boxes of old patterns. I did not look through them, but I bet you could find something. It is a great shop.

Sister business in same area/if not same company. I had order single stones in sets of 5, that were quite expensive and received a couple stones that were awesome and unusable-which, would be my complaint *pending I find out any of these orders are glass or compounds rather than the natural stones that are advertised. The 3d turquoise clover in 10 mm *which also, was 8 mm~one stone was not usable. These are stones not on a strand but instead orders of 5 or 10 counts. I expect nicer quality. A strand will have stones that are chipped, not cut or drilled properly but if I am purchasing a loose stone, I want to be able to use it. I dont mind the stone size-I am using g the others for some pretty earrings but sizing is off, on everything. I am ordering a couple more strands because I am making very pretty bracelets but I cannot tell a customer, with confidence, these are genuine stones, so I can't price accordingly and will not break even for these collections at this point. I just dont want to lose money on returns or bad publicity. So I will say this-if you are purchasing for art/crafts and your gifting or personal enjoyment, this is a terrific hub to purchase. The stones really are pretty and fun. You can make BEAUTIFUL jewelry/crafts, for sure. I WILL order again. I am aware it is possible some are not authentic as listed. They have nice sales. If you buy 500 plus, awesome discounts. I recommend this business 100%, with caveat-this is likely not jeweler authentic stones 100% of the time. If you are just making fun stuff-who cares...the stones are pretty. *I do want loose stones to be as nice as tgey can be is my only complaint

Tons of information, lots of explanation about why you should use one product over another, very hands on, and walks through the whole process from start to finish. It is a class with a focus on business/pro-level screen printing, NOT hobbyist stuff so the information is not simply a generic "how to" but a "how to" with equipment and supplies that would make the most sense in a professional setting. THE STORE seems oriented toward professional artists and crafters, less toward hobbyists. There were multiple sections that really surprised me in terms of selection - I haven't seen some of that kind of supply on hand outside of specialty shops I've visited in other large cities. Specifically, the selection of vinyl, HTC, etc for shirts and jerseys was outstanding. The screen printing supplies (ink and chem selection) and equipment (presses, tools, etc) were impressive. And the quality and variation in fine painting was great, as well as the multiple options for easels, art tables, brushes, etc. Finally, I got the impression that this is absolutely the kind of place that would be able and willing to order supplies or equipment on request, which is gold. *Really valuable resource to the regional arts community.*

Inside, you'll find spray paint, paint markers, stickers, prints, and cool urban apparel for purchase, all of which features the work of our local Austin street artists and often has a motivational, "Keep Austin Weird," or "Austin Pride" kind of message. Chances are that if you have noticed any impressive new mural or live street art event around town (such as at the X Games, ACL Fest, SXSW, FunFunFun Fest, East Austin Studio Tour, or the Long Center lawn) over the past 4 years, SprATX was involved. Their artists have also done work for most of the Alamo Drafthouse locations and numerous corporate clients around the city. As if that weren't cool enough, SprATX is also the creator of #ATXFreeArtFriday https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/atxfreeartfriday/, a weekly art scavenger hunt in which artists of all levels (from hobbiests to professionals) hide their work (stickers, canvases, screenprints, sculptures, textiles, anything goes) throughout the city. The finders post their "I found it!" reactions online, tag the artist and #ATXFreeArtFriday, and the cycle continues. I love this place as much as the kids do- it's an open invite to play and create anything they want to. The staff here is so friendly and I've seen them build a house out of cardboard (from scratch) for a little girl. We are frequent flyers here, if we have an open morning this is easily our top spot to go to. First, the play area is so fun. It's interactive, it leaves room for imagination, and it's always pretty organized. My two year old girl and four year old boy both find things to do and have fun. They have a group canvas kids can add to but also easels set up for them to paint their own creations. The craft area set up is great. Each table is sort of set up with an idea/concept like water coloring, paint pens, a jewelry bead bar for them to make bracelets and necklaces. The supplies are there for your kids to create. They take donations or recycled items like applesauce twist tops, cardboard tubes, etc. these are all available to use. Surprisingly my two year old LOVES to watercolor and all the stickers. I'm waiting for one of their adult nights because I am so serious when I say the vibes are great here.
