Spread the news, call your friend who loves to create and BRING THEM HERE. This place is genius and wayyy to fun. The gist: It's an adult craft studio with all you can use supplies of all sorts. A dream for any creator. Only $5 to use any and all supplies + donate some to keep this place in business!! Food / Drink: Byob and snack! Food and drinks are allowed in the studio so bring friends and a bottle of wine, maybe some goldfish or your munch of choice and craft and chat for hours! They have water and tea if you ask (: Ellie / Clean-Up: Ellie runs this place and she rocks. She will give you the full tour and provide you with so much inspiration you won't know what to do with it. She also cleans up which makes this place even better knowing you can make a mess and the magic Ellie fairy will clean for you. Classes: Check the website to sign up for the various classes offered in all sorts of areas. I haven't done one yet, but I am sure they are great!! Reservations: Only make a reservation for large groups ( maybe 4+?) otherwise you can walk in and find a spot.

My friend and I took Eli's screenprinting class at CRAFT and it was so fun. The space is big and filled with all sorts of tools and materials. The class was super informative and had ample time for going through the whole screenprinting process. We got to go home with so many goodies! I definitely recommend doing the workshop or visiting the space! Eli is a gem of a human and an instant friend! They are so generous with their knowledge and really just wanted us to explore, learn, and take advantage of the space. I wish we lived in Austin just so we could hang out here with Eli every day!

The place that I kept wishing existed does exist, but not where I live. CRAFT was a lot of fun to explore and make a mess in! I hope to visit again sometime!! Please stay put unless you're coming to DFW. Lol I'm happy that you exist and will miss you until the next time.

There is nothing more fun than diving into an arts and crafts project...and nothing worse than cleaning up after. That's why I was so impressed by Craft. They have everything you could possibly want for all types of projects, and they'll handle the mess once you're done. It's a great space to experiment, to learn, and to have fun with friends.

Addicted to this place. Imagine being able to use whatever you want from a craft store for one price... yes! That is exactly what you find at CRAFT. For $10 an hour, you can use every single thing in the studio - puffy paint, fabric, yarn, stamps, ink, glitter, fancy papers, stencils, glue gun and everything you can think of. You can bring your own projects from home and work on them there, or just start something new. I'm a huge fan of CRAFT.

Visited here from California for a relaxing time with my bridesmaids. I know as a bride I shouldn't really be planning my own bachelorette BUT, when I saw this I knew in my heart it was meant to be. Like seriously whether you're good at crafts or not, you'll end up in here so focused on what you're making and you'll truly enjoy yourself. When I first walked in, it felt like home lol. Eli shouted from a Corner and asked my group if anyone wanted coffee (yes for free). Had no clue at first shE was talking to us. She then gave us a tour of the whole place and even taught us how to emboss :O we were all shook We were able to use pretty much everything we saw. If I lived near Austin, I would've taken advantage of of the wood and fabric pieces, sadly I flew in Spirit Airlines and can't carry anything with me. I decorated my bride a sash, made a leaf crown, flower glasses, and made shrink-a-dinks of my puppy Overall, half of my group aren't that artsy, but they alL loved it. We planned an hour, but stayed 2.5. At the end of it, Eli came to chat with us a bit and even took pictures of our experience for us. Honestly can't wait to go back.

Love, love, love! Free-form crafting fun! This place is airy and spacious and chock full o' goodies to get the creative juices flowin'. From paints to fabrics to stamps to maps to obscure knick knacks, this place has it all. Went in with my co-workers on a Friday afternoon for some staff bonding and relaxation and we weren't disappointed. So many options to create a lil' something, and normally $10/hour. Since were part of a non-profit group, they graciously gave us a discount on our crafting time! Thank you, Craft! We'll be back!

Eli and I got to work together Saturday night - I helped pull bags off the table after Eli screen printed/inked the print of a custom 'velvet taco shell...' stencil onto shirts and canvas bags. I just wanted to say thank you again for Eli's hard work and allowing MOST of the group to hang out and chat. It was a great event and I'm so jealous Austin has this facility for ENDLESS possibilities for crafting. I'm based in Houston but would LOVE something like this down here. I too, love to make things - but find myself lacking the space to keep all my craft tools - and eventually have to sell them in order to free up space in my small living quarters. What a grand idea to start a business like this. I hope Craft has many fruitful years in the Austin location - and allowing others to join in crafting. Please build a location in Houston!! CRAFT FOREVER

Is there equipment to make homemade paper?

I have just discovered this place in search for activities to do with my bridesmaids in Austin. For a group of 7, would there be enough space for us to sit with one another?…

Yes! We have big tables that seat up to 10 people, but it would be helpful to have a reservation! You can text us at 5129009957 when you know when you might come in. We recommend at least an hour and a half, but you could try for an hour!

Can you purchase a gift certificate for a class? Sewing is the particular class I have in mind for someone?

Yes! There's a link for gift certificates in the top right corner of our site. Gift certificates can be applied to any class or walk-in crafting. The sewing class is $60 and everything is included. madeatcraft.com

Since we finished the Art contest judging sooner than anticipated, I popped by his art gallery also located in East Austin. RichesArt is mind blowing! The gallery feels like a full-on creative space. This is not your typical art gallery vibe with stark white walls where you cannot touch anything. This place is beaming with bright, bold colors that scream...this is art!!! The walls exude color, texture, life! There is a strong graffiti influence, mixed media, and pieces unapologetically authentic. The art gallery also serves as community hub. While it was free to enter the art gallery, some of their events have an associated cost. The gallery environment is incredibly welcoming. A few folks were waiting to start a graffiti class. You don't feel like you're just walking through another generic art space. The owner is an exceptionally talented and kind young man, and that energy clearly sets the tone for the entire gallery. From the moment you walk in, you feel a warmth and openness that makes you want to slow down, look closely, and actually experience the art rather than rush through it. Beyond the main gallery space, there are outdoor installations that add another layer of interest, as well as a vintage boutique tucked away in the back that's well worth exploring. It feels like a place that's constantly evolving, with new details and updates that would make repeat visits rewarding. This is definitely the kind of spot I'd return to regularly just to see what's new. Unfortunately, I live in another state but for those of you in Texas, take full advantage of having a place like this nearby. It's absolutely worth the trip.
