Beef slices with fat cooked fries

Absolutely love Uchiko! My boyfriend and I first visited Uchiba earlier this year, and this time, decided to use a Resy credit at Uchiko and partake in their omakase special. After a discussion with the waitress upon being seated, we were able to clarify a request for my omakase to be vegetarian. My bf was able to partake in a little bit more food, but I was solely satisfied with the dishes I got, even when I shared it with my bf. The meat dishes that my bf got that I couldn't have were: - Beef slices with fat-cooked fries (I don't see why the fries had to be cooked in fat, but oh well) - some individual fish-based sushi pieces - poke crackers - shrimp skewers The veggie dishes I got to have included: - mushroom vegetable rolls with a sweet sticky sauce - sticky rice donburi style dish topped with greens and mushrooms soaked in soy sauce - avocado nigiri pieces - veggie roll with mango sauce - thinly-sliced mushroom - tempura kabocha squash - cold black sesame soba noodles Dessert was a delicious ice cream sandwich and a unique dessert that had a graham-cracker-like crust, cream, and topped with cilantro-flavored crushed ice and pineapple topping. We came at happy hour (4-6pm) and omakase was only $60 per person. And with the Resy credit, we got $100 off---an absolute gem of a deal! Our waitress was super friendly and really helpful in making sure I had delicious vegetarian options. Can't wait to come back!

I made reservations at Uchiko to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. When we were led to our seats at the sushi bar, we were pleasantly surprised with a "Happy Birthday" sign waiting at our seats. My boyfriend was really touched, and we felt it was a very thoughtful gesture from the staff. We arrived just in time for the happy hour omakase. Feeling adventurous, we chose the nine-course tasting menu for two. Our chef was very accommodating and asked if we had any allergies or time constraints. The pacing of the dishes was perfect and never felt rushed. We even ordered a few extra dishes and drinks on the side to enjoy between courses, and everything we tried was delicious. In total, we dined for about 1.5 hours. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Uchiko. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, and the service was fantastic from start to finish. The staff was extremely attentive and checked in on us frequently. Special shoutout to Max! He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helped make the entire experience outstanding.

This was the first time my friends and I dined at Uchiko. To say it was a great experience would be an understatement. Every dish and roll is prepared to perfection. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and you can tell they love the food they are serving. If you are wanting a cool and sexy atmosphere. Definitely take a stop and indulge your senses. I wish I took more photos, but these are the ones I remembered to take. We ate so much food.

Solid Omakase. They say it's a 10 course on the menu but every time we go I feel like we always get more courses than they claim.

Came here just for the dessert after an all you can eat experience next door at sushi warriors and this dessert never disappoints! I still standby the fact that the milk and cereal is the best dessert in Austin.

Amazing ambiance and high quality fish. Great omakase experience My favorite were - bluefin otoro - uni (Hokkaido uni, very fresh and no fishiness or over saltiness at all) - the milk and cereal dessert Stuff that I would not order again: (not special enough in my opinion) - the hot stone - the clay pot with mushrooms

Made reservations for a Saturday for happy hour. Got a seat pretty quickly in the dining room. The restaurant itself is dim but enough light to see what is going on. The waiter was amazing and nice. Making use of our time, we got our food and even threw in some extra due to some mistakes and delays. The gyudon was on the small side and not worth the 14 dollars, so don't get it. It was also very salty. The ham and egg was great but kind of dry. The sushi was fresh and delicious. A little mix-up with what the market fish was, so the waiter comped 2 pieces. Milk and cereal was a good way to end the meal. Fried milk and the ice cream. Hot and cold, and the crunch of the cereal makes a good pairing.

Beyond wonderful experience at Uchiko! The valet was super convenient. Highly recommend making a reservation beforehand because it does get packed even on weekdays. We enjoyed the tasting menu which is designed to be shared with another person. We also added some items and were very filling. The cocktails and sake were also incredible. We had a large group of 10 and the service was perfect.

My favorite sushi place, my favorite place in the whole world!! everything on their menu is 10/10. I wish I could give them more stars because they deserve it! Staff is always welcoming, and nice from hostess to servers Clean place. This place is perfect!!

I'm just gonna say it, probably one of the top five sushi restaurants I've been into in the United States. The sushi was fresh, well presented and delicious., The service was excellent and friendly and welcoming. The unique roles we're so tasty and the sauces that they had with almost every sushi roll was unique. Even the dessert was something special and I think it had chocolate mousse, Captain crunch, cereal, ice cream, and cheese balls. I would've never thought that would be a great match, but it was so exquisite. This is definitely a must go place if you want a wonderful meal and it actually a very fair price.

My family had taken to me Uchiko to celebrate my birthday and it was unforgettable. Service is always great at Uchiko and valet parking is free as long as you dine there. We had reservations and didn't have to wait for a table when we arrived. I highly recommend to make reservations for this establishment. Vibe and ambience is low light and intimate. Upscale and you expect service to be great. We ordered: I ordered: *2 bluefin otoro gunkan (4pcs) 5/5 love *2 bluefin akami (4pcs) 5/5 sister loved it *2 bincho (4pcs) - 1/5 did not like soft texture *2 avocado (4pcs) - siblings favorite because she lovers the lemongrass *2 kinoko hand rolls- not memorable *2 Sake hand rolls - 4/5 *2 hamachi hand rolls- 5/5 love the apple in it, love the apple *2 maguro hand rolls - 5/5 love the crispy jalapeño love the blue fin tuna *1 Bluefin crudo - 5/5 *1 Hama chili - 5/5 *1 broccoli 5/5 *1 double fried chicken - sent back did not like the flavor 0/5 *1 gyudon- add egg- 1/5 super salty Wagyu * 1 Wagyu guhkan - 1/5 not good dry Wagyu and flavor is not good. * 2 nama hotate 5/5 fresh and everything you want in a scallop nigiri! * 1 Ebi taki - 1/5 did not like , grease fire taste. Off putting * complimentary birthday dessert tha tasted like fried ice cream but I think it was milk and cereal? Not on that so don't hold me to it. I attached a picture of the dessert but I highly recommend it! Do I recommend Uchiko? Yes fancy dinner and most of the food is good. Must book reservations.

    How much is the omakase?

It varies based on what they select for you. $150 is a good rule of thumb. You can always suggest a cap. At happy hour, a smaller sampling is closer to $75, again based on what they send out.

Is happy hour only in the bar or can you order from the happy hour menu at a table?

    At the table too!

    Do they do anniversary desserts?

    Yes

I see that on the take-out menu, the omakase is for 2. If dining in, is it possible to get omakase for one?

Can I find out which options are no rice options? My husband can't have rice right now so I'm looking for meat/veggie options that are grain free.

Uchi and Uchiko rotate their menus daily and are highly responsive to personalization/requests at the table. For reference, most of Uchiko's hot tastings and nearly all of their cool tastings do not use rice. Most fish can be ordered as sashimi… Read more

Are walk ins still welcome during covid on a weekend?

Do they have shabu shabu here?

No hot pots at the tables. Closest thing is the dish with the Kobe beef you cook on the hot rock.

Want to get give as a gift... roughly how much would dinner for 4 cost? thanks

Happy hour (sake social) including drinks: $80-120 per person. Not happy hour, $150 per person if consuming alcohol. Plus tip.

Tucked away inside a mini golf course and hidden behind a bookshelf, the whole experience has this playful speakeasy energy before you even sit down. Once you step inside, the interior immediately transports you to the late‑night streets of Tokyo--moody lighting, intimate vibes, and that cinematic feeling like something special is about to happen. There are 6 seats. My boyfriend and I had such a fun, personal experience. The staff were incredible--warm, engaging, and genuinely excited to guide us through each course. The food itself was delicious, beautifully crafted, and felt customized in a way that made the night feel unique to us. It's the kind of omakase that doesn't take itself too seriously while still delivering seriously good dishes. I also highly recommend the sake and cocktail pairing. The bartender customizes it based on your preferences. I told her my favorite drink is an espresso martini and she made this really fun espresso, strawberry latte concoction. There is also a special house sake with an homage to the owner's cat. I love those personal details. It's always a great time at Toshokan, and I'll definitely be back again. They are both amazing and so full of knowledge. After being sat they go through several things about the history, items in the restaurant, and then drink service is offered and the meal begins. You get to select the chop stick holder and chop sticks you'd like to use. I asked, they have at least a dozen I believe different chop stick holder options. They also do s personalized wood coaster with your name burnt into it. The selections were amazing with each one having a unique flavor that melted in your mouth. I added the sake and cocktail pairing which Nicole does amazing. I let her know I still kept the origami crane she last time was still on my counter at home. I saw someone else's review about how hidden it was so I was ready for it. Quite an expensive dinner but absolutely worth it, very exclusive and delicious.

Sushi by Scratch delivers one of the most intentional, thoughtful dining experiences you'll ever…read moresit down for. Every single course shows an incredible level of detail and care, from the way each piece is seasoned to how the chefs explain the story behind the fish. The standouts for me were the kanpachi, toro, saba, and unagi, each one was ridiculously fresh and perfectly prepared. The kanpachi was clean and bright, the toro melted instantly, the saba had the perfect balance of richness and acidity, and the unagi was possibly the best I've ever had. Yes, the prices are high, so go in prepared, but the quality of the food and the craftsmanship behind it absolutely justify the cost. The drinks were phenomenal as well, pairing perfectly with the progression of the meal. If you're looking for a special, high-end sushi experience with unmatched attention to detail, this is it. 10/10. Highly recommend.
