Such a great Japanese spot. Everything we ordered was fantastic, but the beef yaki udon was my personal favorite. Also, the staff was very kind. Highly recommend!

I had been cooking a lot lately so haven't had many opportunities to eat out, but one lazy day, I didn't feel like cooking and did some browsing on DoorDash. I'm always one to try and support new restaurants when they pop up and I ordered quite a few items on the menu, especially since there were a couple BOGO deals. Creamy Cheesecake (Mango) - BOGO deal. Wasn't a fan. Even though I got it delivered, it was still pretty firm as if it just came out the fridge. The texture was just too firm overall, and I didn't particularly like the mangoes baked inside of the cheesecake. Gyoza - BOGO deal. Really nice gyoza, quite crispy on the outside and held up well structurally. Gyudon Bowl - honestly, there aren't many places that have gyudon in Austin, so I was definitely going to order it here. This is one of those comfort foods that just really tastes good overall. I think the portion is a bit smaller than I expected (and compared to the bento) Chicken Katsu Bento - I appreciated the cabbage/carrot salad that came with it because it was so finely sliced (vs larger cabbage pieces). I also really enjoyed the shio tori soup as an alternate option to miso. The Chicken Katsu was quite crispy on the exterior and juicy in the middle. Comes with 2 gyoza as well. A really good bento box overall! I would rate this 4.5/5 if I could but I'll round up since they're fairly new, so I hope they make any improvements and refine their menu.

Best Japanese food! I have been trying to find a good bento box lately, with no luck. Until one evening I went to Great Outdogs and noticed Ichi Shokudo in their parking lot. They are so awesome! Lovely staff, reasonable price and the best bento box I've had! I will try other items. I wish they had curry rice though! The food is so fresh, tasty and nicely presented. どうもありがとうございました :))

Ichi Butadon Bento. Perfectly cooked pork belly with rich, savory flavor and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. 10/10 recommend

Everything is cooked to order, served hot and fresh, and packed with flavor. The owners personally serve guests at their tables and take great pride in what they do. The service is attentive, and genuinely welcoming

For me the Salisbury steak was the best I've ever had. I'm from the Midwest and that was a staple but when I got to Cali it was rare to find. Fun fact we own a family restaurant since 1983 and that was on the menu but people really didn't order it like that so we discontinued it. Maybe if it tasted like yalls it would've worked. Anyway whenever we are in Austin again we are coming straight there. I love the popcorn snack before the meal as well and that could've been my dinner by itself. Cool vibe as well throughout so keep up the good work! Oh and the burnt ends grilled cheese was amazing as well and the fries! ALLLLL GOOD!!!

The absolute star of the show was the Street Corn Queso. Our waiter, Chris, recommended adding brisket to it, and that completely changed the game! The sweet, creamy queso paired perfectly with the tender brisket and their house-seasoned tortilla chips. Pro tip: it's not officially on the menu, but definitely ask your waiter to add the brisket--you won't regret it (huge thanks to Chris!). As for the main course, the classic cheeseburger was humongous and super juicy, served alongside fries that were delightfully airy and crispy. While the bun was a bit underwhelming, it was still a very satisfying burger overall. Portion sizes here are huge across the board, so definitely come with a big appetite or plan on taking home leftovers! Highly recommended.

We sat at the bar, and I believe his name was Darby. He was serving us and mentioned that he had been working there for 12 years. We started with the fried green tomatoes. They didn't quite beat the unforgettable ones from The Front Porch Cafe at Dollywood, but they were still tasty and we happily finished them. I ordered the 2-piece dark meat while my cousin got the 2-piece white meat, both with baked beans, slaw, and white bread. The baked beans and slaw were both satisfyingly delicious. When my plate arrived with a thigh and two legs, I thought I had ordered wrong! Our wonderful server, Kamber, explained that the legs were especially small that day, so they have to serve two instead. The chicken was crispy, flavorful, and delicious, and I loved learning they use peanut oil. The fresh, natural quality definitely came through. And placing the white bread underneath the chicken? Brilliant--it soaks up the extra oil! Service was fast, friendly, and efficient even though it was a busy Friday lunch hour. Amber was great about answering our questions and regularly checked up on us. She even introduced us to their homemade Chess pie--a classic rich southern custard dessert pie--which we were too full to try this time, next time for sure. We'll be back, especially since there's another location in San Antonio. Next visit, I'm coming hungry for the fried okra, mac & cheese, and seasoned fries! Just wish they also have corn on the cob and corn bread as other sides options. Southern fried chicken craving: officially satisfied.

Came here on a Sunday dinnertime with some friends for Vietnamese food. Showed up around 6 PM and…read morethey weren't too busy. Parking was plentiful. It's located in a strip mall with a pretty unassuming entrance. Service was great, we were warmly greeted, and they have a moderate amount of seating, though it wasn't crowded during our visit. Mostly Vietnamese food on the menu, but they also offer a lot of variety: Tom Kha Pho, iced coffee, Korean shaved ice (bingsoo), banh mi, and rice dishes. Feels like they're mostly Vietnamese focused with some fun extras mixed in. It's a pretty chill setup, you pay first at the counter, then they bring your food along with a water bottle. Pho ($17, 7/10) - Pretty standard, good flavor, large portions in a large bowl - Standard sides with mint, lime, jalapenos, and bean sprouts - No option to choose your meat, it just comes with brisket and meatballs (though I didn't ask, so maybe substitutions are possible) - Generous with the meat portions though, which was a nice bonus - Broth was rich and flavorful, plenty of noodles, left me satisfied. Definitely can compete with specialized pho spots in town Someone else at the table got the Tom Kha Pho, and it looked really good and creamy, definitely want to try that next time. Overall, this spot feels very family oriented and homestyle. Really enjoyed this meal.

We've been to Azure a handful of times now, and I honestly think it deserves to be called Azure…read moreAsian Fusion & Cafe because the food deserves just as much attention as the drinks and desserts. It's surprisingly hard to find Asian fusion done properly. By that, I mean food created by people who actually understand the different Asian cuisines they're pulling from; not just combining ingredients and calling it fusion. Doing it right is knowing the flavors, techniques and ingredients well enough to bring them together in a way that is optimal and respectful to the cultures and regional cuisines being represented. Definitely check them out for lunch or dinner, or even just drop in for dessert like we've done: Bánh Xèo Tacos ($14.99) Vietnamese x Mexican: The banh xeo shell was incredibly crunchy without being messy. It's filled with shrimp, pork belly, vegetables and pickles, with a cilantro-lime dipping sauce. You can also ask for Vietnamese nước chấm. The meat was moist and flavorful, and that cilantro-lime sauce was seriously addictive. Vermicelli Bowl ($16.99) Vietnamese x Japanese: This was so refreshing. It had wakame, red pickles, cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes and carrots. The meat was well-marinated, and I'd definitely order it again. Papaya Salad ($13.99) Vietnamese x Thai. It was served with a whole fried soft-shell crab and shrimp chips. It leans sweeter from the Vietnamese nước chấm, which I personally prefer but still kept the nod for raw crab for the Thai but in a way of the fried softshell crab. We've also had their croffles, drinks and bingsu, but the Chè Thái Bingsu ($13.99 L / $10.99 M) is our favorite. Vietnamese chè Thái meets Korean bingsu, and somehow it's even better together, lighter and less overpowering than traditional chè.
