I don't understand the obsession with this restaurant. It has been in the Sheaborhood for many years and has a ton of fans! However, I recently tried them again and despite the food being good, I was thoroughly disappointed. We ordered a large cheese pizza, plain, just cheese (for $27.95), Mild wings, a dinner salad, Stromboli and a calzone. All overpriced!! In fact, when she read my total to me I was shocked. She said " yeah our prices are pretty crazy." Decent food except the celery and carrots for the wings were wrapped up since we got our order to go. You could imagine my disappointment when I opened the foil to reveal vegetables that looked like they had already been chewed, ew! To top it all off, they told me that the food would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Since we live around the corner I was there in 10 mins. When I got there the girl at the counter apologized and said the kitchen was backed up. So why wait to tell me that after I get there? I waited a full 40 minutes for our food. That was the last straw. I just can't with this place.

Well, if you wanted turkey at 11:30am, you were out of luck. They forgot to order turkey, but telling customers they ran out. Then we had a short Latina woman falling to greet me upon entry, but she greeted most others she seemed to know. Angry woman. I was there for the cheesesteak, but the sandwich literally tasted like nothing. The meat was imported according to the menu, but not sure what that means. It was mushy and not prepared well. It had alot of meat, but cook needs training on how to properly make this item. For $13, this cheesesteak was way below average.

I was definitely disappointed. I grew up going to Uncle Sam's and came home excited to go! Definitely over priced for the quality of food.

The arancini were a great way to start, and the Nutella e Banana with ice cream was the right call to close things out. But the night really belonged to our server, Jesus R. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm -- the kind of service that turns a good meal into one you actually want to write about. The setting does a lot of the work: a large, charming garden with plenty of outdoor seating that gives the whole place a cozy, almost village feel. Inside, there's a small bar that's tough to get into, but it's really your only option if you're walking in without a reservation and don't want to wait an hour or more. The kitchen is usually the highlight. With an Italian chef behind it, everything leans fresh and well executed--pizzas consistently shine, and the salads are just as strong. This time, though, the bolognese was a miss. The pasta was clearly overcooked, which stood out given how reliable the food typically is--felt more like an off night than the norm. The wine-by-the-glass list is solid and approachable, and the many awards feel well deserved overall. A diverse staff adds to the cosmopolitan yet relaxed atmosphere. Even with the misstep, Cibo holds its place as one of the better all-around dining experiences downtown.

Kaitlyn, the cashier at the pickup counter, was amazing--her energy, friendliness, and dedication to making sure I was satisfied with my order were impeccable! This is an embarrassment to anything Chicago or Wrigley related. Barely any beef and some nasty sausage patty, served with a bag of chips. This was not edible, so I just picked off the beef. The pizza was decent, but I can get better from Rosatti's. The worst part of the meal was the calzone. It was disgusting and barely warm. We all took small portions to taste and none found it edible. We left almost the entire order on the rack, aside from the pieces on our plates. Did the server care to ask? No, but more on that later. The small cheese with Ricotta was barely ok, but the ricotta was not as fresh as served at DeFalcos or Vero in East Valley. Service: AWFUL. We told the server that we want the large pizza to be our appetizer and then bring the rest of the food out. Nope. She brought everything out together. Refills? Had to try and finally get her attention. Never asked about our food. Didnt ask why the calzone was barely touched and we didn't want it to go either. Overall: Not coming back period.
