I recently was looking for some place to take my father for lunch, and we were feeling like pizza and wings. It just so happened that we drove past Il Primo Pizza and Wings, and my father recalled hearing about it. Ironically, over the previous week, I had seen something about Il Primo Pizza and Wings in the mail. We gave it a try. When we arrived, we were greeted by one cashier with no one in line during a weekday lunch hour (though there were customers dining in and eating). We looked through the lunch specials and placed an order. The prices were reasonable, and there were many lunch specials listed. The food was good and worth trying again, though it wasn't among the best pizzas or wings I have tried, though the great service and deals made it worth our while. I learned about their pizza and wing challenges. For instance, two people can call 24 hours in advance and order a 30" pizza, and if they can eat it within one hour, they earn their mark on the Wall of Fame and get one free $12.99 pizza a month for a year. There is a similar challenge involving hot wings. Also, be on the lookout for some amazing deals for Il Primo Pizza and Wings from the Entertainment Book to local coupons that are mailed out. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. I don't recommend they have terrible customer service, they do not value their customers, and it seems like no matter how long or how much business that you do with them, they treat you like you don't matter. And it doesn't seem logical or at all the fact that you get one ranch no matter if you get six wings or 20 you only get one ranch. I have litterly been coming here for 30 years. I was always a decent place to get pizza and wings. Granted not the highest quality for either but always decent. Over the last few years the quality of food and service has gone down while the cost has gone up. Today I wanted a quick fix for dinner so I stopped. I looked up at the digital signage and decided on a medium pizza with 10 wings. Well even though it's on the signage and has been on the menu for years I was told they no longer offer it. I would of been fine if they had bothered to remove It from the digital menu but they were to lazy to do that. The young lady helping me was rude about the entire thing when I asked why it was still posted. I'm all for "whole in the wall" places as long as they have good food, good customer service and a clean place to eat. Met some friends at this location, first and last time for sure! Although the pizza was good it took about 45 minutes to get our "dine in order" maybe even more. When the cashier asked the manager if they had salad for us, he immediately responded "no, I didn't have time to make it"... no apologies just curt! The kitchen which is in full view looks in total chaos, and the gal slicing the pizza didn't even have gloves on. yes they were busy with lots of take-out orders as well. Since our friends got their before we did, they had already ordered so we had to stay otherwise we would've left. I'm also not a fan of carpet in restaurants, it smells musty and looks gross. Who knows how often they deep clean that carpet. We'll never be back more because of the poor customer service and musty smell. read more

I ordered pizza and wings as I have done many times before. The delivery driver stopped at my house and then left quickly. I called the store to tell them they had the right address and they told me they delivered my food to the wrong address and were going to go get it back and deliver It to me. When I protested and wanted fresh food made for me they hung up on me. I called back and spoke to the manager and his first words were "youre (my name) the guy who has no reason" I told him i just wanted food that someone hadn't touched and how was that unreasonable he hung up on me again. Called back. Spoke to another person who was another manager and said we can bring your food for full price after two and a half hours after having them hang up on me multiple times. I hear the ambiance is horrible. Don't know, never eaten inside. However, they have XLNT delivery drivers who always take less time than quoted, as it is only about 8 blocks from our house. They are prompt and courteous. The food is great - they are associated with Tailgaters bar & grill down the road a few blocks which offers good food and service and if they get too busy they will order pie from Il Primo. I don't know if Il Primo still does half priced subs on Wednesday, but they used to. We order our subs from another place in the area which has been there forever and may soon go away. I never grab shots of their wings or subs as we are too busy scarfing it down. For you competitive eaters you can join the wall of fame for a 30" pizza or their wall of flame for wings. I think there is a tee or a hat, not sure as I've never tried either. Come to think of it: I DID go inside once, and it had a tile waiting area, but apparently the dining area is now carpeted and disgusting(?) according to a family member not in this household, and other reviewers which were less than impressed. Yes, as you would expect prices have skyrocketed as of late, but a medium pie and 10 wings (they don't come by the dozen and the drivers don't know why but I would assume to cost, are a steal as of late. Sure, there are other 'za shops around but this is a family-owned place and has been around pretty much forever. No it's not one of their fancier competitors who import water or have an in-house filtration system to recreate NY or Chi Pie but having never been to either of those towns I couldn't tell you if it's the same. I do know, however, that plenty of breweries around do the same thing and it works well. But breweries are for another day...as I used to be a reviewer for a magazine that has pulled out of the southwest... So, if you are looking for a decent pizza, check it out. If you want some beer with it while out check out their bar down the street, can't g wrong with pizza and beer. If you want things like shuffleboard and darts, or karaoke, those are whole different places and there are plenty of them around. Ordering was interesting, person taking order couldn't hear what we were ordering and I had to reiterate what we were ordering, louder and clearer. Put entirely different name on order. Food had to be collected from counter ( I don't know why they don't bring your food to you. ) The food....was food. Dough was undercooked, enough to notice and taste but not horribly. Too thin however for how much cheese they put on. Food alone 2.5/5. Nothing to remember but is edible. The overall atmosphere of the establishment was reminiscent of restaurant owners that bought a place semi successful, didn't change the decor or interior or do any kind of maintenance, then instead of carrying on tradition of previous owner decided convenience and saving money was more important than creating an inviting fun environment with great food. Lobby is dingy dark and slowly being run down. Tables and carpets are meh at best. The bathrooms are pretty disgusting. Not to mention something should be said about leaving your apron on a baby changing table. Ew. Service again left much to be desired. When I go to a dine in restaurant I'm expecting to be served. Meaning when I'm done eating I like to leave. Not do what would normally be considered your part by returning the pizza tray and throwing the papers out. I went in to pick up an order today and was asked if I had a mask by an employee behind the counter, I responded no to her and she responded please have one next time and your order will be ready in a few minutes. Less than a minute later a young man came up and asked if I had a mask and I responded no. Then he asked me to pull my shirt over my mouth and I declined. At this time he said my money was going to be refunded and I was to leave. When I pointed out that two employees in the kitchen did not have masks over their mouths and nose he became more agitated. I sent my adult daughter in to get the food and observed unrest in the kitchen due to the cooks being told to mask up. These chicken fingers are so over done they are completely inedible how to fry cook can put these in a box I don't know I worked in kitchens for many years I would never send this to a table. Order is always accurate whether pick up or delivery, wait time is as expected for items ordered and any special events considered, ie., Superbowl Sunday, etc. Food is consistently top notch and staff is pleasant. Intermittent hold times when phoning in orders comes with the territory when you have a large customer base of recurring customers. If the food and service was poor, the business would not consistently be as busy as it always is. Those that prefer not to be placed in a queue for ordering, should either order in person or consider ordering from businesses with lower ratings, fewer recurring customers and empty parking lots.
