This place has such great reviews so we gave it a try. My husband and I were so disappointed and both said it was probably the worst pizza we've had in a really long time. It had a tasteless crust that and one of the toppings had a really funny after taste (we weren't able to isolate which one). The boneless wings were also pretty terrible and were $20 for some tiny mini baby nuggets. We had a couple bites and ended up giving it away to the guys at the park and bought from another pizza spot. Definitely not our taste and we won't be back. read more

Really good pizzeria, very fast, efficient and professional service. The pizza was ready within 15 minutes and ready for pick up. We order the pepperoni, sausage and black olive with extra cheese which came out great. Very crispy crust and loads toppings. My only one complaint is I wish the crust was thinner... other than that I think it was excellent pizza and look forward to ordering from them again. read more

This is definitely the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Biting into this pizza made me feel like I had never eaten pizza in my whole entire life. The buttery, crunchy crust, the floppy cheesy pizza and the nice chard taste underneath the pizza makes me feel like I'm eating something ratatouille made. I'm honestly shocked because walking into this place. There wasn't a lot of people there and it was pretty cheap to get two slices of pizza and a drink so I was a little concerned but holy crap it really is a hole in the wall. read more

Based on my last visit, this was the worst Ray's I ever encountered. The slices were like cardboard, the beverage options were limited and the customer service left something to be desired. It seems that all the Ray's, with the exception of the Greenway location, have all gone downhill. first it was FLW then 7Th st and Bell. o don't know what happen to the original NY people that used to work at those two locations, guess they went back east. read more

I had a slice of pizza. It had the correct ratio of cheese, sauce and pepperoni. The wings Gould have been a little crisper and spicier but were still delicious and flavorful. The sauce had the nice vinegar tangy taste I like with buffalo sauce. The cheese bread is actual bread and not cheese on pizza dough which is just a cheese pizza. Service was fast and friendly. read more

Not like the other rays pizza. This place literally had 3 pizzas out. I think they were all cheese and then you could request toppings for $2 each. The other rays in north scottadale has like 10 different pizzas to choose from. The pizza still looked really good, my friend got some, I tried a bite. Yum yum. Just not the pizza I wanted. My first time at this location and I must say I was very impressed at how friendly the staff was and how clean this location is. The Pepperoni slices were huge and they tasted amazing. The price was really reasonable also . I will be definitely going again. read more

Hello, Ordered Pizza, Wings, Sodas for a Business lunch for take out. Not one to make reviews but everyone needs to try this pizza. Wonderful, friendly and respectful service. Very professional. Food is absolutely outstanding. Food was picked up hot and ready with drinks cooled and ready to go or drink. Not to mention the pizzas are pretty decent sized and fresh!! So, I had some training at work, and this place was right across the street. Recently opened, and they had a lunch special on the window for 2 slices and a drink for around $5.00. Decided to check them out. Went with 2 slices of cheese and a drink (Pepsi products). Slices were decent. A little bit small compared to other "Ray's" nearby, but still a decent size. Sauce was a little bit bland, but the one good thing about this pizza was the crust. It was better than the other "Ray's" around town, so at least they got that going for them. Cheese was good and not too greasy. Service was friendly enough, and it was a quick, inexpensive lunch. Not sure I'm coming back to this one specifically just because the size of the slices, but if you only have $6.00 and are nearby, it would be an ok option for lunch. read more

It was my first time visit to the store. Was supposed to be Chinese but they were closed and on my way back home, I decided to try this place. What an excellant experience my first step in the door. Adrian and Zoe had that professional welcome attitude that showed in Hello. Unsure what sounded good to eat, both Adrian and Zoe suggested a range of food to cover and hungry mans desire. It was clear they wanted to earn my business now and in the future. Helped me pick a dinner that was very delicious, and filling and kept it within a budget that didnt break the bank. For being a family business, I highly reccomend this restaurant to anyone who can appreciate the back to basic rules of business and rewarded with excellant food to fill your hunger. read more

Ordered while visiting my sister. Wowee!! I got the Monster pizza with light sauce. It was very light sauce indeed, almost none... but that was just fine-- just the way I like my pizza. The crust is awesome, perfect balance of chewy and crispy. And finally a pizza place that *piles* on the toppings. Perfect amount of pepperoni and sausage, and *tons* of veggies! And it was cooked perfectly. It seems like everywhere else uses extra veggies as the excuse for why we end up with "dough-y" undercooked crust. I was blown away! Ok I am from New York and I love rays Pizza but not all are the same. This one is run by a nice family but the portion sides are horrible compared to the rays down the road. I ordered the hot ham and cheese and got a sandwich with 1 slice of ham for $10. Down the road 3 slices not rocket science it's in the name of the sandwich. I would expect 1 slice if I was getting an Italian combo. I will no longer be spending my money at this Rays. read more

I've never been here before but it was close to my work and I decided to give it a try. It's a pretty small place but it was clean, the staff was friendly, it seems family owned. I ordered the special steak sandwich and a regular drink it was a little over $10 bucks but the sandwich is pretty big but does not come with any sides not that you need sides it's pretty filling. I wouldn't say it was great, but it was not bad, I felt like it lacked flavor but it could be that I have a favorite elsewhere and this just doesn't come close. I did see they have lunch specials on their pizza but honestly I saw the pizza and that's why I opted for the sandwich, wasn't very appealing IMO. read more

*updated review* after receiving not one, but two harassing messages from the owner or someone affiliated with this business, I have no choice but to drop their rating to one star and report them to Yelp. The appropriate way to handle honest criticism is to try and improve your product, but for these people, they believe that creating fake profiles to give themselves fake 5 star reviews and harass customers who had a poor experience with their low-quality food. BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS!!! There are plenty of other places with much better pizza in the valley. *original review* If I was writing a review strictly on the pizza, this would be one star. When you can get a better slice at Costco, there might be a problem. Tasted bland, obviously they use cheap ingredients, the sauce was virtually non-existent and adding garbage pepperoni took the $5.75 lunch special up to $8 and change. I'm only giving a second star because the staff was nice and friendly, but damn, this pizza was a monumental fail as far as pizza goes. How they have 4 stars is truly a mystery to me... read more

Just left this location. I like rays for a NY slice. I hit em up on a quick lunch break. Location was clean and what seemed to be a father n son tandem running the show. The guys were real nice even tho I heckled em about the extra. 10cent charge when using debit (put out a sign and let the customer know. It's on 10 cents but it's a courtesy thing) either way the food came out hot, fresh n quick. My slices were actually pretty huge and were literally hanging off both sides of the plate. A lot of places are filthy around here so Ray's was refreshing to be so clean and friendly. I'll be back for more pizza. And if my assumptions that this is a family owned joint are right, then I'll be back even more! read more

Have heard rumors this is excellent pizza in area with multiple locations. This location is mile from my hotel and daylight is near end with Trek considerations! Having a custom build of thin crust with jalapeños, Italian sausage, pineapple, garlic. Soda drink. No other customers here now. And is pretty good. read more

Extremely disappointing food / photos looked so appetizing but food was absolutely not. I have never been charged for ranch dressing for appetizers and I paid for 4 but only received three. No utensils, napkins, cheese or peppers. This was not due to being busy - all three employees on their phones when I walked in. read more

It was nice and fluffy, and not too sweet, which we prefer. Overall, service was friendly, patient, and attentive. The ambiance was comfortable and intimate with lots of indoor seating and some outdoor patio seating. I highly recommend making reservations in advance if you plan on coming here. My two favorite dishes that never miss are the Lasagna and the Chicken Parm. Like clockwork, it has always been impeccable. Sadly my most recent experience will likely be my last experience. I ordered the Chicken Parm and when it came out there was something missing from my plate. Instead of the usual Rigatoni Pasta with Vodka Sauce there were a couple of stale chunks of potatoes and some sorry looking asparagus spears. I asked the bartender where is the pasta. She responded that it no longer comes with pasta and that I could order some at an additional charge. It was at that moment that I knew I would never return again. Never in my entire life have I ever ordered Chicken Parm at an Italian Restaurant and not have it come with pasta. That is like ordering a hamburger and it doesn't come with a bun. Then they tell you that you are more than welcome to order a bun at an additional cost. It was like the ultimate slap in the face. I understand that businesses are under financial pressure in these tough times. I can assure you though that this restaurant does not suffer from this fate. There is simply zero excuse for this type of behavior from ownership. Their meals are already priced near the top of the market here in Scottsdale, and rightfully so as their food is top tier. But to raise prices and then remove a staple item off of the menu is asinine. Again, I really do not like writing negative reviews for businesses because I am a fellow business owner as well. However the consumer in me cannot stand for this type of treachery. I am sick and tired of paying more and getting less. This is not meant to deter others from experiencing this place. It is meant to let management that loyal customers are dissatisfied with their business practices. Finally, I am not a cheapskate either. I always tip at least 30% which is way above the average. I am not tone-deaf, I sympathize with restaurant staff and wage gaps so every little bit helps in the service industry.

We ordered house wine and a pizza, calamari, and grilled veggies from the Happy Hour menu. Our only disappointment was the pizza this time: really doughy. I remember loving the pizza here for it's chewy crust and light toppings; this one tasted very bland, just red sauce and regular mozzarella - my friend was hoping for more of a margherita-style pizza. If you come here you must - must - get the calamari as it's always swell (that was a typo but I love that word "swell"). We'll be back to continue to sample more menu items and enjoy their lovely patio after the weather comes to its senses.

The fact that the restaurant was very close to our Airbnb, and did not require a reservation also felt like a sign to make the visit. The spot is definitely trendy, and parking was tricky. Uber/Lyft would be my recommendation, but there is a paid parking garage down a couple of streets. We didn't need a reservation since we had a small party, but I would recommend if if you're coming with a party of four or more. We sat at the bar and ordered four dishes from different categories, which was a great way to sample the menu; though honestly I think we probably could have gotten away with just 3 dishes for a party of 2. We tried Yam Mamuang Boran (old-style green mango salad), Boo Pad Pong Garee (crab curry with ginger), Tom Yum Haeng Sen Yai (dry tom yum with wide noodles), and Naem Khao Tot (crispy rice salad with fermented pork sausage). The noodles and salad were definitely my favorite though everything was seasoned really well and incredibly flavorful. What I loved most was how thoughtfully prepared everything felt.
