Went here for a work lunch today. Place was cool, service was incredibly friendly, and it seemed like they had a nice bar area to chill at, but the food...eh, could have been better. We ordered mozzarella sticks and pizza crusts for appetizers. The mozzarella sticks were good, the pizza crusts were weird. They were thin strips of their pizza dough, baked. Thing was, their dough wasn't that good IMO. It was like eating a rectangular piece of a saltine cracker that was chewy. They were weird and nobody liked them. For my lunch, I went with their sausage sandwich. It looked good, but it was not. About 2 bites in, the sausage was luke warm. 3 bites in, and the sausage was actually cold in the middle. I peeled back the cheese and took the sausage out, and it looked grey and plain and like it wasn't cooked. I ate the bread and cheese and that was ok. Probably should have sent it back, but I was already pretty full so I just didn't eat it. My buddy got a supreme pizza, and gave me a slice. This was actually pretty decent. The pizza crust was lacking, but the toppings were great and it was tasty enough. I like the Mom and Pop vibe of the place, but sadly wouldn't ever return. read more

A coworker recommended Fatso's. We are from the Midwest and pizza is a touchy subject. We love thin crispy crust cut in squares. The pizza at fatso's checked all the boxes for us. The crust was crisp not hard to chew. The sauce was tasty not full of sugar. The toppings were also good, cheese wasn't greasy. The mots sticks were good, standard . My beer was perfect, not too cold. The server was very nice. I do t remember her name but a really nice lady. The bar had people sitting watch some game. They seamed to be having a good time. Hadn't tried this place before because my husband said it wasn't good, come to find out he hadn't been in like 20+ years so he had no idea haha. We ordered pickup and it was ready on 20 minutes! My husband said it was packed there and they had live music, but our order was ready on time! We got one thin crust cheese and one thick/pan crust cheese because we couldn't decide! I tried Fatso's randomly when I found it on Yelp. The place was poppin! A lot of people at the bar, which may be the secret to their food. The food was not good. Everything fried had the same taste, and the pizza didnt taste like a pizza. I dont know how to describe it, but mayb a few beers would have helped! Inside was a little packed and narrow, and also pretty dark. They need to add a lil light inside! Staff seemed like they were upset to be at work, so Fatso's seemed very transactional. This is a great family restaurant. The kind of place where everyone is welcome. We were lucky enough to come on an evening with live music. We split some wings, a cheese pizza and a cookie for dessert. Everything tasted as it should. Our server was very attentive always refilling our beverages. Thin crust pizza imo closest in the valley to Chicago style & flavor, which is the type we were seeking. Ordered a Caesar salad (it was lg enough for 3), large pepperoni & garlic that fed 3 ppl with a few pieces leftover. It was topped with plenty of good quality pepperoni. Ordered pizza well done & it was cooked to our liking. Our service was very good & the restaurant was busy. That's a hit, & we find almost unusual these days. Live music was very good. This is a little neighborhood gem that was establishing 1993, I love their little story. Joe, the owner was so nice and came by to introduced his self, love that. Taylor was absolutely amazing, so smart, friendly with big beautiful eyes, I can't believe how she could keep track of not just our party that was quite large, her section was very big. On a recent Sunday evening my wife and I tried Fatso's. Several friends have been telling me how great it is, but we live in Tempe and it's quite a drive. We were not disappointed. We ordered Pepperoni, mushroom and green chilis on a thin crust by friend's recommendation. The pizza was wonderful! Plenty of rich tasty sauce, generous coverage of toppings and a liberal blanket of cheese, just the way I like it. We also ordered side salads that were nice too. Crispy fresh lettuce, some tomato and other things and cheese too! Service couldn't have been better. We ordered enough to take some home, but given the drive, maybe should have got another one to go. We're looking forward to a return trip. read more

I come here all the time, it's right next to where I used to live, so it was a nice treat at the end of evening walks. Their commitment to live music is very nice (there's always a live musician there whenever I'm around), and the food is great. I really recommend the medium buffalo wings! The wait staff typically have a kind demeanor, and they really do a great job of making you feel welcome. That said, my ears are a little sensitive, and the live music can be a bit loud. Possibly the worst pizza and calzone I've ever had - so greasy and runny, cardboard crust, no flavor other than cheese. Got there an hour before closing at 8 pm and felt rushed to order. The restaurant was being cleaned by really young kids (like elementary and middle school age) all around us during our meal, and they were also delivering our food - so young there is no way they have a food handlers permit. Not to mention the two youngsters literally hanging out in the bar well with the older gentleman bartender when there were customers all around it drinking - pretty certain that is illegal. My partner and I both felt sick from how greasy the food was and within an hour of coming home I did indeed become ill. The whole restaurant smells like disinfectant trying to cover up old beer and grease. We almost turned around and left upon entering, and I wish we had. I hate to leave such a bad review for a small local business, but it is justified. Get your young children out from behind the bar - WTF? read more

I Love Love Love pizza!!! I could eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner, every day of the week -- that's how much I love pizza. Did I say "I love pizza??" There are plenty of pizza joints in towns and cities, probably because some think it's an easy way to make a buck. Of course anyone can make some money churning out pizzas but Fatso's pizza is different. We were on a road trip through Phoenix and were hankering for a pizza, so after consulting Yelp as we always do, we chose Fatso's. Due to Covid, we phone-ordered a thin crust pizza to go. When we picked the pizza up, we took it back to our campsite where we savored each bite. The crust was thin and crispy as promised and the toppings were fresh and delicious. It was such a treat. Tried this place on Sunday night. Not too busy but several games on TV had a dozen or so people at tables. I had the pizza deluxe and wings. Bothe were average with the pizza on the bottom side of that scale. What bothered me most was when you picked up a slice, there was liquid under the slice. We could not be more disappointed. A few months ago we had a thin crust pizza from here. It was ok, the crust is...... let's say different. Tonight we decided to have a cheat meal and go back to fatsos. Well that was a big mistake. Fist we arrived at 6pm seated and served drinks right away. So finally around 630 we got to order food. While 3 other tables got seated and orders taken before us. We finally ordered, 45 mins later I had to start asking wtf. I told them to put it In a box. I just wanted to go home at this point. We get home with the pies and God damnit!!!! there pan pizza is the worst thing I've ever seen. It's like 2 inches thick of uncooked dough both fing pizzas are raw!!!!
