A must visit fast casual restaurant that specializes in Detroit style pizza! Stopped by with my cousin to sample their restaurant week offerings. I was really surprised upon entering to learn that this is an order at the counter spot vs full service. However there was no shortage of amazing service from everyone behind the counter. The teamwork amongst staff was top notch and much appreciated. Everyone took the opportunity to engage with us or improve our dining experience in some way. All of the food we sampled was very tasty. I was surprised by the bbq chicken salad, I didnt think it would work but was pleasantly surprised, if you're on the fence about this one I would suggest going for it. This is one of our favorite places to eat where we know we're always going to get consistent, delicious food in a great atmosphere! Managers always stop by to ask how our meals are and we end up talking to them about what a wonderful experience we have every time we come in. I honestly tell everyone to come here! So on this visit either my husband ordered the wrong pizza by accident or they misheard him and brought a traditional pizza rather than the Detroit style. They said no problem, they made him a new one and are sending us home with the traditional pizza at no charge. The family brought take out from Fly Bye pizza in Desert Ridge for dinner to eat during the Arizona Wildcats men's big basketball game vs University of Connecticut ( u conn) . Two Detroit style pizzas with a variety of toppings & themes" traditional pepperoni ( was great smaller spicier ), supreme , chicken & honey , vegetarian, and one w squash I didn't try . This Fly Bye Detroit style square pizza has a thick but lighter crust almost like a focaccia bread , I enjoyed it. We also had two big orders of chicken wings. I liked spicy ones best . With the various dips ,sauces , & big side of fried there was something for everyone . I found Fly Bye to be a winner as were the Wildcats in another top ten hard fought victory . Great place! Stopped in for to-go sandwiches and a tender meal on a Sunday afternoon. The cashier was SO nice, super helpful with sauce suggestions based on it being our first time there and our preference of spicy stuff! Food seemed to take a little bit, but worth it; packed sandwiches, very fresh ingredients (tomato, lettuce, bun) and a cute env't if you plan to stay and eat it in house. I love Detroit-style deep-dish pizza, and Fly Bye does it really well. In Detroit, it is baked in seasoned blue steel pans, creating a crispy bottom, a bubbly top, and caramelized edges. It was first introduced in the '40s and has been popular ever since. I took advantage of their Flybye10 promotion to get $10 off $20. I ordered the special, the Burrata Margherita. It was savory; the crust was light and airy but still had some crunch from the caramelized edges--really, very good. They also offer a $10 lunch special: a slice and a small Caesar salad. So I am updating my post. I ordered last week. Yes. I am from Detroit and I love our pizza. I just had carryout last week and I got chicken fingers and fries and a small Detroit style pizza. I love the chicken and the ranch is great. Food fries also. The pizza. Nope. It's nothing like it was when it first opened. I give the chicken a 9 and the pizza a straight 6. Especially for the price. What happened? I am not sure. It's just not the same quality. Also, I have zero complaints about the staff etc. literally just the Detroit Style pizza as you call it. read more

Exceptional service, staff is attentive and helpful. A favorite place for tenders, the breading is delicious and they are always cooked perfectly. Wings have a fantastic smokey flavor. Love the Detroit style pizza but ordered a traditional cheese too and it was just as delicious. read more

Is this another one of those places that someone talked about so it becomes a fad?! So we tried this place for lunch. The inside was decorated pretty cool but it was small. More seating outside than inside it seemed. The pizza was ok but a little dry, as expected from Detroit style, so use a little extra sauce. I can safely say I've had better. The chicken strips were pretty good but, I mean, they're chicken strips! How ya gonna mess that up. I didn't try the salad because, well, it was salad. Wasn't in the mood for that. The "LARGE" pizzas were a little small but I guess they were adequate given the super thick crust. I WILL say at least it was kind of light so that was a plus. The staff was trying hard and they were nice enough but (excuse my language) what a shit show this was! I received an email message that my order was ready for pickup but they had no Rhyme or reason as to where to order and where to pickup so I waited a few minutes in the one line they had but eventually asked someone where I pick up. Problem was, so much for the "it's ready" message because they still had to put it together. When I arrived there was a couple that just wanted a refund because they couldn't wait any longer and by the time I got my order, there was another couple that wanted a refund as well. I think they need to discuss their organization because even the trendy folks will get tired of the wait. I've decided to give 3 stars for this experience instead of 2 or 1 because maybe they were short staffed? I would only hope for their sake. Fly bye pizza hits the comfort food feels for me in an indulgent, tasty way. I prefer the hand stretched pizza but the Detroit is also delicious if that's your preference! You can't go wrong! I like to order the family meal if you're feeding a group, take a chicken tender, cut it into pieces and mix into the Caesar salad. It's a winner! read more

It was our first time and it was early in the day so we were able to chat with the folks behind the counter and they took great care of us, checking how we liked everything, commenting how it was our first time and they wanted us to taste more sauces ,bringing us extra sauce, etc. We shared a Caesar salad with roasted chicken breast and 12 wings with Nashville Hot buffalo sauce with a side of ranch. What was really nice was that the roasted chicken breast was pulled and not cut, and it was very moist. The Caesar salad dressing was a standard flavor and tasty. The wings have an extremely light coating, which is great when you're trying to do low-carb. The Nashville hot sauce seems to have cumin in it which at first seems strange, but the more you ate it, then it kind of grows on you. The buffalo sauce had honey and butter in it, so it was much tamer than normal. You could eat a lot of these, they taste very good! They have some other interesting salads and a pretty good lunch special pizza and (a half?) a Caesar I think it was for $10 as of today anyway! The ambience is very cute and hip. This was my second experience here but I never got around to reviewing it but each experience gets a 5 star. There's not a whole lot to say but the workers are very friendly and the food is delicious. My party and I got the special with 10 tenders, salad, and a pizza which is a lot of food. Over the last year, I've gone to Fly Bye twice, and both times, I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was and how great the service was. Unlike most other Fly Bye locations, there is actually indoor and outdoor seating available, and the outdoor seating has heaters available. As my more recent visit was my wife's first visit, we tried several sides to figure out what we'd like and split two dishes (recognizing that they'll would make wonderful leftovers). From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, the staff of Fly Bye were so helpful and a pleasure to engage with. The Fly Bye menu includes a Game Day Duo, snacks (appetizers), hoagies, chopped salads, the roasted buffalo cauliflower bowl, famous pizza, crispy chicken, dessert, and drinks. We started with Mac & Cheese (monterey jack, American cheese, parmesan) and cheesy garlic bread (loads of melted cheese, garlic butter, and a side of marinara) followed by the Brussels salad (arugula, apple, date, parmesan, lemon vinaigrette). We got the dates on the side though I enjoyed them! We then ordered both a hand stretched round pizza with pineapple along with a cheese Detroit-style square pizza. Each and every dish we ordered was delicious! We learned that the food was quite filling and lasted for several meals. We wish we had room for dessert (but we clearly didn't). As a Fox Restaurant Concept, there are always great promos available. Go to the Fly Bye website (https://flybyetogo.com) and join their e-bites club for a $10 off $20 promo code on your first online order. They also do promos throughout the year. For instance for the Super Bowl, scratchers will be given to all orders on 2/9 to win Fly Bye prizes. Then on Sunday through Thursday, you can get a $35 pizza & wings bundle. There is also a $48 and Fly to-go special consisting of a Caesar salad, choice of a large pizza, choice of 10 piece chicken tenders or 16 piece wings, and a choice of two sauces. The only negative is when there is a large group that included children. When we were there, the kids were restless while the parents were nearby talking and eating. The kids made signs that said "HONK" and got nearby cars to honk when driving by. They did this for about half of our meal while we were eating outside. They eventually left. While I do not fault the restaurant for this, I was surprised that the parents ignored this behavior while others like my wife and I were trying to enjoy an outdoor meal. I think 5 star ratings are WAY overused. Most places should have 4 or less and only 5 stars for the true standouts. So yes I rated it 5 starts because this is the best fast casual place I've tasted. We live in Vegas and anytime I am in north PHX this is a must stop! I usually prefer proper sit down restaurants but the fact is the food here can't be beat! I've been here a dozen or more times and it is always consistently great! I usually do the chicken tenders, they are so crunch on the outside while the inside remains moist. Too many places the chicken dries out, you won't have that here! Today was the first time I got the pizza. I'm not a "pizza guy" but I wanted to try it as it is what they are known for and I've heard others talk about how good it is. I agree it was a VERY good pizza (Detroit style) crust was crunchy with a great proportion of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. This probably sounds like a paid review... to that I can only say I wish it was! I'd request payment by them opening a location in Henderson NV so I could eat here more than just a couple times a year!!!! I love this spot! We visited a few weeks ago and shared a pizza and a chicken tender meal. I DoorDashed a meal from Fly Bye before and was impressed, so I just knew it would be a great in-person experience. The pizza is thick, Detroit-style. I liked it a lot and found the sauce to have a nice and robust flavor. I will say though that if I had to choose, I would opt for their chicken tenders. They hit the spot and pair beautifully with their house-made sauces and crispy fries. I sure hope that Fly Bye keeps flying around and opening locations around the valley. Their chicken Tenders actually melt in your mouth! So crispy, yet tender...nicely seasoned. We had never tried this place before, so we only ordered 3 piece meals. Big mistake! First time stopping in for a date night and the pizza is fantastic. We split a small Detroit-style half truffle mushroom & half copper hat. The dough was soft and fluffy and not greasy at all. It was like having a pizza pillow of deliciousness. We also had the crispy brussel sprouts and those were fantastic. The staff was super friendly and everything came out quickly. Fly Bye is the kind of place that you fly bye once a week if you want great food! The inside of Fly Bye is pretty small, but there is always open tables. The decorations are super fun too. The wall art can keep you busy while waiting for the food. The staff is amazing. Everyone I have interacted with is super friendly and kind. 10 points for whichever house Fly Bye belongs too! The food... the only bad thing about the food is a lot of it isnt the healthiest. So when I order a bunch of food, its so good I end up eating it all! The Detroit pizza, chicken tenders, salads! all amazing. I reccomend trying the BBQ Chicken salad, its next level good! OH! If you love Detroit style pizza like I do, this is the place to order from! I have ordered the truffle mushroom pizza and loved every bite. It took them about 20 minutes to get the order out but it was worth every bite. Just thinking about it makes me want a Detroit style pizza right now. The location of this Fly Bye is tucked in the center of the giant marketplace so for landmark reference it is on the right of the Albertsons if you are facing the grocery store. My friend's ordered a hoagie with sweet potato fries and I enjoyed the fries while I waited for my pizza. They were really good - I would definitely order those again! Parking is plentiful and there is outdoor seating, but warning it is right along the parking lot, so it isn't exactly peaceful/quiet. Had not been to Fly Bye in a while. Decided to order online for pickup. The website was easy to navigate and you could schedule for a future time. We ordered the Roma Salad which was fresh and tasty. We also ordered a half and half four square pizza. We were very disappointed in the pizza. The crispy edges were burnt, there was hardly and sauce or cheese. The pepperoni was plentiful. But also overcooked. I think it was cooked when I ordered it (2 hours in advance and kept warm) rather than just prior to pick-up. Based on this experience, I won't be ordering again. Loved my first visit at Fly Bye! This fast casual spot dishes out detroit style pizza, wings and other shareable fare. The team is so friendly and my food came out fresh, hot and timely. Per recommendations from the Fly Bye team i went with a large detroit style pizza, 1/2 Black Truffle Mushroom and 1/2 Smoky BBQ Chicken. I LOVED that I was able to customize with specialty flavors. The truffle mushroom was so delish, topped with fresh arugula and all the truffle flavor, and the BBQ chicken was also delightful with perfect balance of heat and flavor. Both enjoyed with their house made ranch, which was absolutely out of this world and a perfect accoutrement to the pizza. I also got the shaved brussel salad, because balance - which included arugula, apple, date, parmesan and a delicious lemon vinaigrette. I ended my meal with one of their tasty chocolate chip toffee cookies, not my favorite, little on the flat side for my preferences, but still very good and great to share as they are quite large. I have passed by this Fly Bye location several times in Desert Ridge Marketplace. I finally tried it out on a Sunday for dinner with my buddy. Fly Bye is a fast casual pizza and chicken joint that is part of the same family as other restaurants including Flower Child, The Arrogant Butcher, Culinary Dropout, and more. Service (N/A): I placed an online order for pickup so different than your typical experience. But, I will say that my order was ready when it was promised and the staff was friendly. They even offered me a water cup while I was waiting. Ambiance (4/5): While I didn't dine in, I did get to see what the restaurant looks like while I was waiting. There's a small patio but the majority of the seats are indoors. You'll find a trendy, modern, and casual environment with murals on the walls. It's not a huge restaurant but there are a good number of tables. No bar or TVs. Drinks (N/A): I didn't order anything to drink. Food (5/5): First off, they have a great selection of Detroit-style pizzas. If you've never had Detroit-style, think of Chicago deep dish that is less deep. You'll find a pan crust and marinara sauce drizzled on top of the pizza. It's delicious and one of my favorite styles of pizza. They also have chicken tenders and chicken wings with a good variety of dipping sauces or sauces. It's a great mix. We split a large hot honey pepperoni Detroit-style pizza and the chicken tenders with copy cane sauce and chipotle sauce. Let's start with the pizza. One of the best pizzas I've had in some time. I love greasy pizza and this one fits the bill. Good amount of crispiness too. Hot honey and pepperoni is a match in heaven. You get the spicy sweet kick from the honey with your classic pepperoni. I would order this any day of the week. The tenders also delivered. They were a good size, fried well with some nice crispiness here too, and seasoned well. The copy cane sauce resembles Cane's sauce (if you've ever been there) and it was my favorite. The chipotle was a little too spicy for my taste. All in all, a fantastic meal.
