We visited Hot Chicken Alley today after spotting it while we were out running errands, and we were definitely not disappointed! Although it is somewhat tucked away in a shopping plaza, this little hidden gem delivered both amazing food and top-notch customer service. The owner and his team were incredibly welcoming and treated every customer who walked through the door more like a friend or family member than simply another customer. That kind of service really stood out to us! I ordered the slider with fries and asked for my pickles and coleslaw on the side. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the sauce was delicious, and the fries came out hot and crispy; just the way I like them! The craft Stubborn Soda was also refreshing, with unlimited refills, and free ice cream afterward was an unexpected bonus! The restaurant itself was clean, had plenty of seating, played good music, and our food was brought out fresh and hot. Between the atmosphere, service, and quality of the food, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. My only tiny suggestion would be to offer individual wet wipes for customers after their meal. Since this is definitely finger food, your hands can get a little messy, but it was absolutely worth it! Great food, excellent customer service, and a welcoming atmosphere. This little place is a hidden gem! My wife had gone here with a friend and raved about it, so I went with her on a weekend and agreed that this place is the bomb. From the outside, the place doesn't look like much, tucked away in a small shopping center. Once inside, there are a plentiful number of tables in the smallish restaurant, which does not feel at all cramped. It is tastefully decorated, and you order at a counter, and they will either call you to get your food or bring it out to you. On the day we were there, the owner was behind the counter and took our order. He asked if we had been there before, and since I had not, he took the time to explain the menu to me. They focus nearly exclusively on chicken tenders, and we opted to share The Three Tenders, which comes with...you guessed it...three chicken tenders (with your choice of heat level), three warmed tortillas, pickles, and alley sauce (the house dipping sauce) on the side. We added sides of French fries and Cole slaw, and the owner gave me a free fountain drink since it was my first time there. So nice! We grabbed a high-top table, and once the food came out, and I bit into the first tender, I knew I was eating the best chicken tenders I have ever eaten. Seriously. These are awesome and at a decent price, too. The tenders are very large and perfectly breaded. The spiciness matches the heat level you choose--not to little and not too much. Incredible chicken. So juicy and full of flavor! I had to ask the owner if they air fry the chicken because it wasn't greasy or full of breading. She assured me it goes in a deep fryer- you literally would never guess. It's the perfect amount of heat and sweet with the sauce. I have been meaning to try this place for a while and I stopped by one evening. A large group was inside waiting for their food as well as one or two small groups. One customer was ahead of me so I used their kiosk to order. I got their tender loving meal, which comes with two tenders served on fresh warmed tortillas with pickles, Alley Sauce (honey mustard) and fries. It was easy to order and the owner made sure I had no problems. He also offered me a free drink which was very kind. I made sure to sample their Stubborn sodas (made with cane sugar) and ended up with a mix of their agave vanilla creme soda and their root beer, delicious. Even though the person ahead of me ordered a family meal, my food did not take long to make. While I was waiting, I got some of their cheese sauce to pair with the fries. It comes in a large vat and there are other condiments like ketchup, salt and pepper available. My food was packaged well and I was on my way home to eat it. I had ordered one hot and one x-hot tender and they were labeled with small stickers which I didn't really pay attention to, but was helpful. The tenders were tasty and the x-hot was good but not overly spicy to me. Honestly a nice balance of heat without being overpowering. The fries were plentiful and delicious, and I enjoyed the pickle chips to pair with the chicken. I personally didn't love the tortillas, maybe because I wasn't expecting it, but I'd like to try their sandwich next time instead. I didn't get it this time because it comes with slaw and I'm not a big fan of that. The cheese sauce wasn't what I was expecting either, I was thinking it would be spicy but it was still good. Wow! With so many hot chicken places opening up in North Phoenix, my husband and I decided to go with the smaller family run restaurant by dad and son. We used takeout through Grubhub. The girl at the counter was extremely helpful in explaining the menu in detail for us and helping us decide what to order. She checked-in a couple times during the meal and made sure we had everything we needed. Seriously top notch service for a counter service restaurant. Second reason is the food.
