One word sums this place up - overrated! It was a Sunday and I tried locating a Thai or Pho establishment and everything nearby was closed except for Tea Lite Cafe. Located in a large big box shopping center Tea Lite Cafe is small and was fulled to capacity. When I inquired to the Asian if they had a sign in waiting list he replied no so we had to wait and then place our order and then waited to be seated. When I received my plate of bean spouts, mints, lime and slice jalapenos the portion was the smallest ever for a Pho restaurant. The bowl of pho I received was small with a small amount of meats and was over priced in my opinion. In addition the broth tasted sweet and tasted like sugar was added to the broth! I don't add any sauces when I eat Pho so this just didn't taste natural at all. I would not return here again. read more

If you are undecided on what to order, go with the special-- it's a little sampling of everything. I know this place "Americanized", I've had more authentic Vietnamese before, but it's still quite tasty ;) It's also very consistent-- something I value in my lunch take-out places. A tiny little mom and pop spot on mayo Blvd serving delicious Vietnamese food, the owners and staff serve it homemade and speedily, i can order it while I am at work to have for lunch when i am craving some wonderful Pho, and they will have it ready in 15 kind for me to come get, the prices are good and the portions are large, with out being a lot of filler ingredients. I visited Tea Light Cafe for the first time last night with a friend. I had been feeling under the weather all day and had been craving pho for a couple weeks. Adding the two together, I knew what had to be done. Tea Light Cafe is tucked (almost hidden) between a large movie theater and a bunch of other mall-ish restaurant and department stores. You've got to be looking for it, or you're likely to miss it. The parking lot is very large but even still, it took us a while to find a spot. Not sure why, to be honest. I ordered the beef pho, my friend ordered some kind of a grilled chicken dish, then we found a seat just outside the front door. The view outside was beautiful: A Ferrari parked beside a BMW parked beside a Cadillac parked beside a Maserati. But enough about the cars - how was the food? The pho was just what the doctor ordered, without a doubt. The warmth of the broth of pho has always been very comforting to me. Was this the best pho I'd ever eaten? Not necessarily. But I still enjoyed it very much. My friend's chicken dish was beautifully presented, but appeared somewhat dry. She confirmed that it lacked a bit of character, but made do by mixing sauces and enjoyed it nonetheless. Tea Light Cafe is not very close to where I live, but I would consider it worth the trip. It is rated pretty highly across hundreds of reviews, and I'd agree that its rating is well-deserved. If you haven't been, and you're into Vietnamese food, I would recommend a visit. I ordered a beef pho and the amount of noodles that were given is the same as for a child. After three-four bites, I was finished. The soup didn't have enough seasoning. I believe for the price of $14-$17 more noodles would be given. I was not impressed. read more

We ordered take out. Springs rolls (3) were $9.50. Other restaurants, they are much less expensive. When I asked the man at the counter why they are so expensive, he said "Inflation". My wife ordered the Veggie Pho and said it was good. I ordered the Beef Pho and the "meat" was awful. First off, the menu does not state what the beef is. Upon arriving home, and looking at it, it was hard to tell what it was. I called the restaurant, and they said one beef was meatball, one was brisket, and the other a rare beef which is to be cooked on top of the noodles. All in all, we will not be going back there again. It is too expensive (compared to other in the area) and the food is not very good. read more

One of my favorite places to eat Pho. I am picky about how the soup is prepared and this place does it right. The soup is clean and not greasy. I have to rave about the egg rolls. Came here for lunch and had the beef pho and taro boba drink. Food came out in about 10 min in a push cart. Most pho places have more than one size, but here, it's just regular, which is more like small to me. Overall, the soup lack the depth and the aroma of a classic pho. It was a tad bit salty and the onions were chopped quite large. The boba was the slushy style. The boba was definitely not fresh as it was cold as in freezer cold. The taste of taro was very artificial with excessive ice. Definitely not the authentic pho I was hoping. read more

If you never had Pho then you could like this place. There's zero Vietnamese flavoring. We had the pho which tasted like noodles in salted water, BBQ chicken and rice which tasted like old dry kabob and rice, spring roll with watery sauce, and the egg roll were ok but the dipping fish sauce was watered down. Pho here is good! And the food comes out really fast. I love the pho egg roll combo it's the perfect size for lunch. The place is really conveniently placed and has ample parking, super clean and has great service. The bathroom sink had a screen that plays ads which i think is random but maybe it makes them money? This place has great pho!!! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that I wish the pho had more vegetables. After tasting various versions, I love the tofu pho but with the chicken broth and then when I get home I add in mushrooms and other veggies. Have been going here for years and it has always been excellent! However the last time I took and friend here we split a chicken and shrimp pho. The broth was WAY over salted! I told the waitress, and she had a talk with the owner who told he to tell us the booth is made in the morning and keeping it warm through the day makes it concentrated. This is the best noodle soup bowl place I can find in the area. I drive 30+ minutes just to go eat here. They are super fast serving up the noodle soup bowls. Today I got one to go and it was ready before I paid for it! The people are very friendly. I've also had the spring roll and it was really good too. Recommend this for a fast, delicious meal. What a great place! I am new to the area and I was in search of great spring rolls. Their sauce was light, but flavorful. I also got the chicken salad. The chicken on its own has so much flavor, but the dressing was outstanding. Again, very light dressing but just perfect for the salad. I will be back! read more

This was a terrible experience. I love Vietnamese food and this is a poor excuse and overpriced m. Ordered a fresh spring rolls that was rubber rice paper. There food was not cold. It seemed like it sat out. We then ordered the grilled chicken salad that was even worse. The chichen was dried out and we returned it for pho chicken the chicken was three tiny pieces. When I complained they say since we returned the salad that we were not entitled to regular portion. This is a poor excuse of a restaurant in Scottsdale. One and done!!!! read more

Got the beef pho with extra meat and only received 10 small 1x2" pieces of meat. Any other vietnamese place would give at least triple the amount. The broth lacks depth that comes from much longer stewing times with other pieces of meat such as tendons. Not worth the price at all. I had to buy another meal after. read more

Pho soup tastes like a combination of a generous scoop of salt, small cup of beef broth, and a msg bomb. Spring roll wrap was rubbery and chewy. Luckily the filling was fresh. It's lucky for the restaurant that it is one of few choices if you want pho in the northern side of town. It's ok pho but would have been nice to know what cuts of beef. I like a good amount of rare steak in my pho, so at $ 14, 3 paper thin raw slices + 2 microscopic pieces of cooked brisket and a couple mini slices of sausage or some kind of mystery meat isn't going to cut it.
