No surprise, we visited our friends here again for a delicious lunch today. I'd never tried their crispy tamarind catfish until recently. Tried taking a good picture but instead it was an awkward mistaken selfie- which I'll spare anyone from seeing. Today I ordered it again, if possible even better than the last (wonderful!) time here. My wife ordered their chicken noodles number five soup with thin rice noodles, as she did last time as well. She added baby bok choy. It was also out of this world: so many distinct flavors, completely while also her somewhat spicy comfort food. It was easily enough for two, too (however my plate was clean!). Cannot go wrong with whatever you're in the mood for here. As previously mentioned it's a super clean restaurant with super clean ingredients. The service is consistently superb also. And eating such healthy meals costs no more than the chain restaurants nearby. We'll see everyone again soon. read more

I ordered through Uber Eats. Mango Sticky Rice was so good. They did not disappoint on mango size or sticky rice. I also ordered the beef larb. It was sweet, which I am not used to. The aromatics did come through but the sweetness threw me off. This also does not come with rice so if you want rice, definitely add a side! I should have read into that. Overall, food was good. coming from Los Angeles, we have been searching for good Asian food, particularly Thai. We had been very disappointed , trying several venues here in Scottsdale. Simply Thai is excellent. the food has flavor that we have been looking for, curry, noodles, pot stickers, satay, all flavorful . it seems to be a big take out place, at least a dozen pickups came while we were eating. the restaurant is typical, clean with little ambiance but come for the food! will definitely make this a favorite! read more

We enjoyed getting take-out from Simply Thai on our Scottsdale staycation. We tried the drunken noodles with chicken and the pad Thai with pork and both were delicious. We chose a spice level of medium and that was ideal for us. The servings were generous, and the employee was very friendly and welcoming. Husband and I ordered delivery through Uber Eats while we were in town. I hadn't been able to eat since the previous day due to some tests so I was ready for dinner! We had the vegetable spring rolls, which were tasty but seemed very overpriced for only 4 small rolls. The salad rolls were delicious and crunchy with delicious peanut dipping sauce. I got to tell myself it was a healthy salad, which was mostly true. Husband had the drunken noodles at "hot", but they seemed, honestly, pretty bland. A little heat but not a lot of flavor. Ordered online, which was a seamless experience. Hubby brought our order home, so while I can't speak for the in-person experience, I can say their take-out is pretty tasty. We ordered the crab rangoons, pad thai and chicken curry, both of which I enjoyed. My hubby thought the dishes were too spicy, but I did order them medium and I felt the spice level was perfect. I'm a big fan of Thai but can't find a great and consistent go-to; however, Simply has been ordered 2x in the last two weeks... seems like they're the primary candidate to fill this role! What I love about Simply Thai - the pad see ew is one of the best I've had in the valley, for quick and authentic Thai spots. It's savory, with subtle sweet, good portion size, and great overall ratio for protein, noodle, and veggies. Additionally the spice level is no joke! I usually go for a hot (not Thai hot), but after the first attempt at "hot," my husband and I had to lower to medium so we weren't struggling as we ate. Also their signature dumplings are perfection. I've ordered 2x, ate it fresh and via leftovers and I'm always left wanting more - so good and wanting them write now as I draft this review! Why not 5/5, the other meals ordered have been okay, less than stellar: short ribs were tender but a texture and consistency my hubs and I weren't used too, the pork skewers were good but probably won't order again, and the catfish was good (but didn't travel well, may be much better at the restaurant, fresh). Tried their pad prik king and it turned out to be terrible. The use of the premade red curry paste (the cheapest kind) gave it that horrible metallic fake taste that I always avoid. I made a mistake to purchase this one time in an asian market and have always stayed away ever since. They used the same without any of the actual flavorful ingredients such as kaffir lime leaf. The green beans were just raw and barely touched by heat. Every ingredient was just wrong for this thai dish. Usually this is a flavor bomb dish in Thailand. +star for mom-pop -star for service Thus overall this is Simply Disappointing. The food was good and tasty. The service was good. However the waitress's second language is English and her comprehension of it was not good. We went for lunch and we ordered off the lunch menu and the plates came with soup and for some reason she when she asked us what type of soup we wanted we told her. She brings us the small cup of soup which was good. However when she started to bring our entrees she brought these massive things with a flame in the middle and soup around the flame. Completely different soups than the cups. We didn't complain we happily paid for them. Next time we will be very clear if we get the same waitress. $30-$40 was very expensive for lunch. Boat noodle is delicious with lots of meat and veggies. I heat up the broth before adding the noddle in. Moo-ping (grilled pork) and som tum (spicy papaya salad) with steamed sticky rice reminded me of eating them in Thailand, especially warm sticky rice in the plastic bag. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and papaya salad. Pad Thai was really good, great portion but wish there was just a little more chicken. But flavors were there and overall I really enjoyed this dish. Papaya salad needs a bit more work. Not much flavor and lacks a bit of lime for my taste but it was still edible. The portion was good but definitely wish the dressing flavor was a bit stronger/deeper. Veggies were fresh though! I would come here again, quick and friendly. I decided to try this place with my wife for the first time and we love it! Friendly & personable waitress. We decided lunch would be a good way to test the authenticity of the food. I ordered the boat noodle soup for my first time ever trying it and it was dead on in flavor! We also ordered the grilled pork, papaya salad, beef jerky and the traditional sticky rice and it hit the mark as well - hard to find this authenticity locally. Had a server come to our table, take our order, then turn around and come back and say I forgot your order. This is after writing it down! How do you forget an order you just wrote down? Then she walked away again. Then someone else came over to our table and said "I can't read her writing, could you please tell me your order again"? This is getting ridiculous. We have frequented Simply Thai quite often, and always loved it. We stopped in this week and ordered our usual favorites. They must have a new cook, because everything was off. The pineapple fried rice had zero flavor- it tasted like plain rice, and it was extremely dry. My fiancé ordered his curry spicy, and there was not only no spice to it, they're was also no flavor. We were sadly disappointed. The service was wonderful, however- which we thought was a little lacking in the past. I think they use a really good amount of spice as well it doesn't overwhelm but still can really kick. My food was delivered promptly and was piping hot. That's the only thing positive I can say about my experience. I have loved Thai food for a long time, but I will not revisit Simply Thai Kitchen. The Spicy Jungle was a complete miss. Horrible! The sauce on the dish was not sauce, it was just hot oil - way too much of it. The food was literally swimming in hot oil. The dish was not well seasoned, it just tasted like hot oil. While the beef, green peppers and bamboo shoots were nicely cooked (but oily and not seasoned), the death of the dish was the eggplant. There was lots of eggplant, but it was way undercooked and actually dry. There was none of the silky texture I have come to love about Asian eggplant. It was a bit tough and hard to bite through and chew. It even looked wrong, so the cook MUST have known that it wasn't properly prepared, and just didn't care. I was so disappointed, especially given the rather high price tag. I don't generally give 1 star reviews, but this food was unnecessarily bad. If there was a zero, I would have used it. read more

I decided to try this place with my daughter for the first time and we love it! First, the women working there were very friendly and welcoming. We just grabbed our food to go. The kids meals are an amazing value, probably 2 smaller kids could share the kids stir fry. My daughter was really happy with her food, it came with nice pieces of chicken and veggies too which of course made me happy as a mom. I got the moo dang soup for my first time ever trying it and it was absolutely delicious! The pork is super tender and flavorful and the entire soup has delicious spicy tangy flavor. I got medium heat which was plenty of spice for me. There are chunks of veggies and meat and big noodles so it's super filling and it will last me probably 2-3 meals. It also came with a couple of big fried shrimp which were great. I loved that you can choose the big flat rice noodles or whatever kind you prefer. We love Simply Thai and introduced it to my Dad a few years back when he visited. Now he always wants to go when he is in town. The decor is simple and the food is always consistently good. They may not look busy with diners but while dining, we counted nine pick up orders from individuals, door dash & uber eats. On this visit we ordered crab rangoon, chicken potstickers, Pad Si Ew (wide rice noodles with chicken), pumpkin curry with chicken, yellow curry with chicken, orange chicken & a duck dish. The only thing that wasn't our favorite were the potstickers. We usually order the Simply Thai dumplings which are excellent but we had a non seafood person in the group. Our server was Taylor, he was friendly and attentive. They serve wine & beer. We enjoyed sharing some tall Singas as well as some Thai Iced Coffees.
