Since it was a rare colder day here in Phoenix, we were looking for something warm and pho sounded good. First, the ambiance of this place is cozy. I liked the basket chairs with the pillows. These tables sat two and we got the last one when we came on. Tuesday evening around 6. We ordered the combo vermicelli bowl and the rare steak and brisket pho. Both were okay. The vermicelli didn't look like rice noodles and tasted different than most vermicelli that we had. The egg rolls were average and were not as crispy as most other egg rolls that we had. The pho was just okay. The steak did not look rare when ai received the bowl but well done and were a bit chewy. The brisket was a little better but there wasn't much of that. But I grew up eating homemade pho from my mom and going to very good Vietnamese restaurants in California so it's hard to compare. Service was a bit slow but only saw two people working.

Ate here after a long run and it was the perfect meal to refuel. I had: Hello Vietnam Chicken wings (really good!) Chicken curry (recommended by waiter and great)

Tofu stir fry with rice noodles.

10/10 every time I visit! I always get the Hello Vietnam wings as an appetizer and the tofu vegetable stir fry with rice noodles. Service is always amazing, food is always flavorful, and the restaurant is always quiet and clean inside.

Pho!

Loved this place and that would even be without the egg chairs, which were a fun and unique touch you don't see in a lot of restaurants! Staff was friendly- the gentlemen who took our order had to listen to some dietary restrictions I had and they actually suggested a different way they could prepare the food to accommodate! It was super thoughtful and thought it was a good sign they cared about their food and customers. Pho was delish. Wings were delish. Clean restaurant, nice modern Vietnamese vibe. I'd definitely come back again, if not for the great food then for the personal friendly service!

Half of pork banh mi

Food quality was good, though the flavor was underwhelming. Perhaps it is so based on the local Phoenix demographics' palettes? We ordered the lemongrass rib eye vermicelli. The rib eye itself was cooked medium and the ingredients tasted fresh, but we couldn't taste the lemongrass flavor. The accompanying sauce was inoffensive, however I prefer my fish sauces to pack a punch straight to my nostrils. The pork banh mi had good flavors, but not as good as the ones I've tried back to Southern California. The bread wasn't the standard crispy banh mi bread intended to wreck havoc your the roof of your mouthwith every bit. Instead, it was more of a hoagie type of bun - bigger and soft on the inside with a lighty toasted crunch. It's a different sandwich than a banh mi due to this bread, but the flavor of the pork was good. Pork belly spring rolls were good. Cute restaurant decor and service was good. There were only a couple servers who were making the drinks and getting everyone's orders out so we had a little wait to order, but food came out quick. If I were to come back, I would stick with pork for my main dish.

Grilled Pork Pho

I got the pork pho and it was pretty good--flavorful broth, good portion, and overall solid. It didn't totally blow my socks off, but I'd definitely come back. The vibe was nice and relaxed, and the staff was really friendly and welcoming. Great spot for a cozy pho fix.

Best pho and soup ever, they have another location in Scottsdale but this one is the best. Everything is amazing the appetizers, rice dishes, pho my favorite the spicy brisket soup it's the BEST!!! You will not be disappointed. The pieces are very reasonable, fresh quality and prompt and courteous

Special Pho Wintermelon Milk Tea

The layout of the restaurant is very nice. You have normal tables as well as these comfier seats that will fit 2. The menu is pretty big so you have a lot of choices to pick from. I got the special pho and a winter melon milk tea with boba. The tea was good but was way too sweet. Would recommend to lessen the sweetness if you can. The pho was great overall. Broth was flavorful, meat tasted great. Only thing I wish is that the bowl came with either more meat or more noodles. I felt like there was so much soup but not enough in the bowl to go with it.

Interior. I love the shudders on the wall. And the wall mural is stunning.

Todays service was ridiculous sadly. I ordered online, and when I arrived the lady couldn't find my order. I told her the item I ordered & showed her my text that my order was ready & she was arguing with me saying I didn't have an order. Then she found my order which had been on the counter the entire time. Smh. Apart from that food was delicious and exactly what I was craving, just wish service standards were better!

Salt and Pepper Calamari.
Jim J.

I really like Pho and enjoyed a nice serving. While I usually get some fresh spring rolls, Hello Vietnam offered Salt and Pepper Calamari which sounded good. It was actually great. Well seasoned calamari served with grilled peppers and onions. I didn't even need the sauce that came with it. The calamari rings looked like fried onion rings - huge. I will definitely be ordering it again.

Grilled Chicken Steamed Rice - didn't taste grilled
Alvin L.

Kids wanted photo and I was craving some grilled chicken and rice so we gave Hello Vietnam a try because it was in the neighborhood. I'll start w the pho. Off all the items that we tried - pho was probably the best. It was quite salty but my kids ate and enjoyed it so I was happy :) I also ordered the grilled chicken and steam rice. The chicken didn't appear to be grilled (tasted more like baked chicken and it had a sauce on it that doesn't taste like any grilled chicken that I had at a Vietnamese restaurant before. I cant explain it but it was a mix between coconut and lemon grass chicken. My dish was suppose to come with picked carrots, daikon, and typically come w fish sauce as well but it didn't so I was pretty disappointed. Would not recommend the grilled chicken and steamed rice. We also tried the chicken wings and spring rolls. The chicken wings were good (if you like spice) but the spring rolls were disappointing as well (they were hard and stuffed with lots and lots of noodles so not very enjoyable).

After reviewing the menu we decided on Lemongrass chicken with vegetables, beef with vegetables, beef vermicelli, and shrimp vermicelli. Service is always fast here. I ordered the lemongrass chicken. The restaurant seems to charge for every little thing and the staff is slow and forgetful. Having to get up so many times just to remind them about our order is simply not acceptable. I really hope things improve, especially for long time customers who have supported this place for years Ambience The ambience was very cute and charming. The space feels inviting and has a pleasant atmosphere. Food The food was good. We ordered the catfish spring rolls and they were delicious once everything finally made it to the table. Service The service was the biggest issue and it was very disappointing, especially since my family has been coming here for 3 years. Parts of our order were missing, including several side dishes and even the sauce for the spring rolls. We asked for a cup of ice and that was missing too. We waited about 10 minutes after receiving the catfish before the vegetables were brought out and we had to keep asking for simple items. It's a shame because things taste best when the food is still hot, but the catfish was already cold once they brought out all the small dishes that came with the main dish. Because the staff was moving so slowly, we ended up walking to the counter (6 times) just to follow up on things that should have been brought to us without asking. It honestly felt like we were serving ourselves. There should be no excuse why service was so slow because there's two waitress and only one other table. The Vietnamese coffee tasted sickly sweet and burnt. After taking one sip, I asked to switch to a Thai tea, hoping it would be better, but that drink was also extremely sickenly sweet. I returned it after one sip as well. I was surprised to see that I was charged for both drinks and was told it was because I drank them, which did not feel fair at all. They even charged us for the lemon slices.

But somehow I had saved this one to my map so I came here with a couple friends for dinner last week. I wasn't super hungry, so I just ordered spring rolls, crispy chicken dumplings and a "dragon egg" boba tea "smoothie." Though it was on their menu under "Smoothies" it was not a smoothie at all. It was an icee. That said, it was still delicious and I loved the fresh and fruity boba balls. The flavor was more lychee than strawberry, but I didn't mind. My friends got an appetizer plate and 5-spice chicken. Both enjoyed their food very much. The restaurant has a casual atmosphere, but does have sit-down service. Very chill vibes, and prices were fair. The place was clean, staff was attentive, and the peanut sauce that came with my spring rolls wasn't spicy, which I appreciated! I wanted to just chill and take my time to eat, but the server never came back again for me to order another drink so I decided I should just get out then since they didn't want me there long it seemed let's start off with the food review tho my spring rolls tasted off like there was something a bit funky with them, as well as how to frozen texture on the inside and I was given the smallest amount of fish sauce I've ever seen every other place. I've been to is a huge amount or like a generous amount of that sauce dividend but I got like barely anything so I was like trying to scoop it at the end, but yeah, definitely funky tasting rolls. The pho itself consisted mostly of noodles and a decent amount of meat at least but with the combination, I felt like the tendon they just gave the biggest chunks possible, which were extremely hard to try to bite through unusual for me to come across I love tripe and tendon the most in the combos, the regular size is generously sized tho no need to pay extra for a larger size unless you're really hungry the flavor of the broth tasted good nothing special but it was a alright meal prob won't come back but I don't think it was entirely a waste of time

The food was delicious, we loved the papaya salad so much, there were so many flavors of spicy and tangy, and the papaya itself was very refreshing. We had the Pad kee mao and Panang curry which were also delicious. For the chicken pad kee mao we requested it to be gluten free and they gave us the same rice noodles as the Pad Thai and a slightly different sauce which was so darn good! The chicken was very tender. When the Panang curry said it came with beef, I didn't know what to think but after a single bite I was a huge fan! So many flavors hit you at once and the beef was so incredible, it was falling part. I also ordered the savory cocktail option (I can't remember the name) which had cucumber vodka, fish sauce, mint, onion, and some other goodies, and wow! It changed my life. Highly highly recommend.
