Came here during Denver Restaurant Week. The service was great and the staff were attentive, but the food unfortunately didn't live up to the expectations. We noticed that several of the items offered on the Restaurant Week menu were also listed on their happy hour menu, which was a bit disappointing. The skirt steak didn't resemble the typical skirt steak we've had at other restaurants, and the potatoes served with it were completely flavorless. The cheesecake tasted like something you'd buy at a grocery store rather than a restaurant dessert. Also the upcharge for a single shrimp was $6. Overall, great service and atmosphere, but the food could definitely be better for the price.

Went for a bachelorette party, my birthday, and a reunion with old college friends and it was such a great time. The food was amazing, the drinks were on point, and the ambiance was perfect. The music set the vibe without being too loud, so we could still actually talk and enjoy each other. This was my second time here, and even after not visiting for over seven years, it was just as good as I remembered. Honestly, the food was so good I didn't even stop to take pictures, which says everything.

Really sexy vibe with fantastic service that was right on point without going over the top. Knowledge of menu was top notch. We were not steered wrong! Those Parmesan crusted mashed potatoes will live on as THE mashed potatoes to beat. Great DJ and when Shots, shots, shots! rang out, we saw the sparklers and servers bringing us shots. The whole experience was superb. No notes!

Sat at the bar on a Thursday night. The place wasn't very busy. The music wasn't too loud. I enjoy STK it gives millennial steakhouse vibes. I ordered a filet with mashed potato's & a cosmopolitan. My steak was delicious I inhaled it. Our bartender was very quick with service too.

I can definitely see the appeal of this restaurant. After all, it has a primo location, valet parking and the ambiance is amazing! Unfortunately, I found their actual steak and cocktail flavors a little lacking , considering the price point. I've had much better steak at other locations further south.

Popped in for happy hour! They have amazing happy hour prices compared to their regular menu prices. Our waiter, Alfred(o), was energetic and attentive. Drinks were $9 compared to $23 any other time. They have a 3, 6 and $9 food menu! I tried the lil burger & truffle fries, short rib quesadillas and steak frites. All tasty, bite sized dishes. I will say, for the plates to be as small of servings as they were, food service was extremely slow!! I had 2 drinks before any food hit the table. I had a great time enjoying the ambiance and the photo stand.

Food was fantastic, but the service was incredible. Kelly is one of the best servers that I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. Fun, friendly, smart and funny. Thank you Kelly!

I have only been to STK for dinner and my friend told me about their $9 burger for lunch and we decided to get that for lunch. It was pretty empty but it was probably because it was 1pm on a Wednesday. The burger was really good and I enjoyed the black sesame on the buns and the fries were good! Honestly it was totally worth the $9!

I gave STK another chance & the ball was dropped on so many levels . Malik was our waiter & was attentive w/ a great personality! I honestly couldn't believe how the staff were so afraid to interact & do their job properly. Time frames & quality on all aspects of the fine dining experience was executed so horribly! Seating on our reservation was over 40 minutes. Yes , we were a bit late & waited patiently for everyone to be seated in front of us but still had a really long wait for ladies in heels & no space up front to sit. Sat at a table too large for our group in the side room on the right . Not pleasant .Initial Drinks over 30 minutes. WOW! Glassware was questionable. Everything comes in a coupe glass now ? No water refills, dirty dishes left on table when entrees arrived Entrees were not delivered together. Staff does not know seat numbers ! Appetizers could not be ordered first? Per kitchen . No sparklers for birthday dessert , Didn't get a birthday dessert or offered dessert options at all . No upgrades offered on steaks . Plates went to the wrong person & wrong table. 2 messed up orders . 1 salad 1 filet. I could go on & on . Sadly! This was my birthday dinner & I live 5 blocks away . So I know there are plenty of other fine dining or steakhouse options. My sisters wanted the ambiance & DJ ! They came in from out of town. So I agreed! Epic fail! Manager on duty was great , funny asked how birthday went , figured I would just speak to GM to give many details. It's a whole team experience so 1'person cannot be blamed for so many mistakes. STK was my favorite for many years . Living in Vegas & Dallas . But Denver needs to get it together ! 7 ppl for a birthday dinner out service & meal should have been problem free & least ! I ordered a wagu steak for over $100 & it wasn't even great! But I don't come here for steak usually because of this reason . With all the disappointments this evening it was pretty jaw dropping , Sadly ! We had Wagu, filets, scampi , wedge salads, calamari , lobster Mac, Mac n chz & several cocktails! All cocktails were mid grade as well as the steaks ! Sides were great! Execution was horrible!

Came here for dinner date on Saturday. I made reservations and the table was ready right when we arrived. All the staff were so friendly. Our server Mitch was very good and made excellent recommendations. We got Western style oysters and Wagyu sliders for appetizers. I like that they had Western oysters since I'm not a big fan of Eastern oysters. The sliders were very good as well as the oysters. I go the Wagyu steak and it was delicious, I got it medium temperature. Normally I get medium rare but Mitch recommended medium and it was so tasty. My date had the lobster linguini and it was also delicious. We also got the side potatos and espresso martinis. The bill expensive but it was as expected for the quality meal.

For food, my wife and I shared the Filet Flight, which included samples of their prime, wagyu, and grass-fed 4 oz filets. Such a fun way to experience the different cuts, and every one of them was excellent. We also started with the Yellowtail Hamachi Sashimi, which was incredibly fresh. We also got the Oak-Grilled Broccolini and Duck Fat Fries, both of which were fantastic sides. There were also so many other side items on the menu that sounded amazing, including the Hand Made Gnocchi, Black Truffle Mac & Cheese, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, and Whipped Potatoes. Definitely a place you want to come back to and try them all. As a small extra touch for our anniversary, the staff gave us a handwritten card along with a few dessert bites, which was really thoughtful and helped make the night feel even more special. An easy 5 stars and a perfect spot for a celebration or date night.

Lots of professionals seemed to hang out here after work. They offer a great selection of steaks, half size portions of sides (which is amazing) and an array of cocktails and wine. We got wine so o review on the cocktails, however the table next to us raved about them. Prices were reasonable for a steakhouse in Denver. Steak was cooked perfectly! I got grass fed New York and my friend got filet. Hers was slightly under but nothing she couldn't eat. The best thing on the menu... black truffle Mac and cheese!! Wow! The octopus was also tender and had great wood fire flavor. Our server was a bit all over the place and when we needed something, I had to track down someone else. Didn't love that. Decided on A5 because 1) it's got some great appetizers / starters, 2) love the servers there, and 3) was in the mood to chow down on a hunka-chunka serious steak, and for the first time get a tomahawk slab o' beef that I had seen before on the A5 menu. Came in early on a Thursday night (6:15 pm) so the place was losing its happy hour crowd and had not yet been swooped down on by the hip dinner crowd. A great time to go. Could not have been better. Started with their crab and shrimp dip app and Japanese milk bread, both of which are stand-out non-steak items on their menu. Ordered the tomahawk steak which is ridiculously large (over 40 ounces (10 of which is from the large rib bone)) and ridiculously good (and ridiculously expensive . . . as in like over $225), along with an order of asparagus. Loved it all. Of course, we split the steak and had no room for dessert. Brought home probably 10 ounces of meat along with some other leftovers which will give us another night of good at-home eating. Bottom line . . . wonderful experience. Pricey but they made it a true celebration for us and it was well worth it. Go. You'll have a great time there, and if you don't want to blow a bundle and its your first time at A5, check them out at happy hour. It's probably the best deal for the best HH food in Denver.

Backed that up with a solid salad, then moved into a homemade pasta with ragù that had no business being that good. It was hands down the best thing we had and some of the other items we ordered were amazing too. If you're going to order anything here, do the burrata with the focaccia bread. You can thank me later. Next up, we had the carpaccio and crudo with caviar. If I had to choose only one, I would pick the carpaccio but the crudo with caviar is great. Freddie recommended the crudo with caviar and what a wonderful harmony of flavors. These were both standout winners. And the carpaccio meat was incredibly soft. Best carpaccio I've ever had, and I love carpaccio. Last, we had the paglia e fieno (rabbit ragu) and branzino. The branzino was the item I was most excited to try leading to our reservation and it was the item I liked the least. I am a huge branzino fan and order it any place that has it. This was probably my least liked branzino I have had. The olive sauce was just way too strong for this fish. The fish itself was beautiful but I couldn't get past the sauce. I would pass on this, even if you like olives. The rabbit ragu really surprised me and it was my 3rd favorite thing we ordered. I would definitely order that again. We passed on dessert since we were full and nothing sounded too good. We did valet at the hotel next door. I immediately told my friends this was one of the best Denver restaurants we've had. The service was outstanding too. Freddie had the best recommendations and took great care of us.

Very cool!! The food was good but not great. For the price, I'd expect something a little better but the beef tenderloin was cooked exactly the way I ordered it (complete with peppercorn crust). It was tender but maybe a bit dryer than I like for a filet. The peppercorn crust was amazing! The Saratoga chips are made in house and they are very good as well. Super crispy with the right amount of salt. We got a history lesson from one of the servers, about 10min worth of backstory about the restaurant and it was almost like dinner and a show. Parking is a bit tight if they're busy but it's downtown Denver so that's typical. Other than the price being a bit high for the quality, this place is a good time and a good meal.

This was by far the worst part of our trip to Denver... be warned. Parking: There is free parking in the back of the building. When we first walked in we were greeted and brought to our reserved tables upstairs. If you decide to try this place, get a reservation and do downstairs. There is so much more to look at downstairs! Instead, we were brought to a backroom that was much cooler(in temp) and had way less to look at... we felt "put into the corner." It was busy, and it appeared they were short staffed. It took a long time for our server to get to us. She was very sweet and I definitely felt for her, she was really trying! However, it took awhile to get our drinks, the complimentary bread came out after our appetizer and house salads... anything complimentary should come out right away. The food: We got the Rocky Mountain oysters and I actually thought they were good! The cocktail sauce is very tomato forward and the "horseradish sauce" was a joke! There was absolutely no flavor and I am convinced it was just sour cream! If you do order these, ask for their ranch- it was dill flavored and delicious! The house salad was good But wet... like I had water on my plate. If you want a Caesar Salad it will cost an extra 7.50!!!!!!!!! Why!? That doesn't make any sense! The complimentary sourdough was good but the whipped butter had no taste at all... we had to sprinkle some salt on it for it to actually taste decent. We got the New York strip 16oz and the Elk steaks. The New York strip was the worst steak we have ever had! It was supposed to be cooked to a medium but was definitely closer to a medium rare. The butter on top did not have any flavor and was pointless. It had a fair amount of fat on it and the crust tasted "ashy" to us. It was expensive so we ate it, but terrible! The mashed potatoes were not mashed well! I had a whole potato in it! The veggies were mushy and overcooked. The elk steaks were actually very good! I would recommend that! The wild rice was brown rice with a few wild rice pieces... and again mushy veggies! The total price for one alcoholic drink, one bottled soda, a half order of Rocky Mountain oysters, the New York strip and elk steaks was over $200 with tip. We went to the restrooms afterwards and they were disgusting and dirty! If we are spending over $200 on a meal it better be great service, food and ambiance! This missed the mark HEAVILY! If you do feel the need to go here, get a table downstairs, make a reservation, get the Rocky Mountain oysters with the dill ranch and the elk steaks.

People either love or hate the 50's decor that Mad Men picked up on decades later. I'm in the former camp and like sitting upstairs most of all. Today, we sat downstairs for the first time. Quiet and cozy with the Rat Pack looking on, the mood was chill, anticipation high. Service is consistently attentive, prompt, and friendly here. Jason greeted us warmly and followed this with soft, warm bread with Anaheim-spiced garlic butter that we could have filled up on and left happy. It's stellar. Drinks arrived quickly: my Great Divide farmhouse ale and a potent White Russian that had mom in silly mode. Mom took her salad to the woodshed. My cup of green Chile corn chowder hit the spot. We were stoked when our server from my last birthday brought our entrees. It felt like home. While the "Sugar Steak" is their calling card and a number of topping combos are available, we went for straight up beef. No regrets. Medium rare? Perfect. Mom's filet mignon torched the one I had at Gallagher's in Las Vegas a week ago--at a much better price. I tried the wagyu coulette (picanha). Unbelievably tender, it's my new Bastien's fave. Side and soup or salad come with your steak--none of the a la carte nickel-and-diming found at most steakhouses nowadays. This sets Bastien's apart. We enjoyed the twice-baked potato and white cheddar mashers. I can vouch for the loaded baked potato and French onion soup, as well. Overall, Bastien's offers unique ambiance, stellar service, solid steaks & value that fancier spots don't have. No BS service fees. It feels like they are here for you, not the other way around. Until next time...

Interesting restaurant shape and layout…read more Overall it was way overpriced for what you get My partner and his bro both got huge steaks- one with their special sauce and I think a ribeye for the second. Both were a huge let down. Overcooked (we asked for medium rare) and not much flavor at all. My steak sandwich was extremely tough and hard to chew. Fries were meh. Our family was visiting from Australia- we got all dressed up to celebrate 2 birthdays- and it was a huge disappointment and we felt bad for taking him there.

The restaurant was not busy and the one waitress was MIA during most of the service. We studied the menu and started with a smoked fish dip. This was unique with aioli, cilantro, pickled jalepenos, lemon and over-the-top plantain chips. I easily could of eaten a huge bowl of the plantain chips, incredible! The sweet corn empanada with aji amarillo, avocado puree, manchego cheese and chimichurri that was light, savory and a nice flavor profile. Our final selection was the Cusco chicken sandwich with sweet plantains, salad, avacado and chimichurri aioli. The plantain was delicious and woke up an ordinary chicken sandwich. It was a great addition. I enjoyed our lunch but feel that I need to try the dinner menu. The mixing of fruit with entrees was a welcome change. To the kitchen at Toro, keep up the innovative menu.

After reading other reviews and checking out photos beforehand, I knew the Colorado lamb was a must-order. It's not something I usually go for, but it ended up being my favorite dish of the night. Absolutely worth the hype. We also ordered the birria short rib and hickory smoked picanha, and both were solid choices. The shrimp and corn grits were amazing, and I really loved the aged cheddar mac and cheese. Other dishes like the chickpea croquettes and the chili relleno were also pretty good and rounded out the meal nicely. The wait staff was fantastic. Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. The restaurant itself has a cool, lively vibe. The only minor downside was that the outdoor heaters were a bit too hot, but that's a very small nitpick. Overall, an easy 5 out of 5 stars. Great food, great service, and a place I'd happily come back to.

The lamb was excellent, but the sweet mashed potatoes absolutely stole the show and easily the best thing we ate all night. Everything was well prepared and flavorful. For an appetizer, two meats, two sides, and dessert, our total came out to $88, which felt like a great value for the quality. Overall, it left a really good impression and we'd definitely come back again.
