Wow super glad we stopped in for breakfast. This was a great diner style restaurant. Largest selection of food I've seen on any menu. Service was fast and attentive food came out quick. They also have a full bar and a wide variety of drink selection. I got the wild bill staker and got the hotty toddy , also got the fajita breakfast burrito and a burning expresso martini. Food and drinks were both great!!will definitely be coming back!
Had dinner before the show. Andres was our server and he was personable and friendly. I ordered the hand rolled chile rellenos with eggs. Their serving sizes are large and filling. A side salad is huge. The rellenos were good. The green chile lovely mixed with the runny egg yolks. Toast to sop it up with. Hash browns so so. Nice unhurried dinner.
This place brings people on its own: no extra reviews are needed but will still write one because they were amazing! We were looking for a hearty meal, and were lucky to have this one within walking distance of our hotel. The food was more than enough, and very tasty! The meals were well served, and flavorful. Our server was amazing! He is there Fridays and Sundays (I'm sure more days but from what we remember) him and the staff were very friendly, and on top of our needs. I recommend the "chingon" and if you like Bloody Marys, they have a great one! The place is big; divided in 2, one side is the restaurant and the other is a bar, with opening seating (if available). Proves are very reasonable. This is a restaurant you must try!
Eggs are one of my favorite foods so I'm happy to eat breakfast food for any meal. I walk by this location often during the work week and it's always busy, but service is super fast which is a rare treat in Denver. The location is pretty central downtown which is convenient, but not an area with a scenic view. You could say the people-watching here is interesting. I ordered the veggie stacker with eggs over easy - this is not a meal you eat with your eyes first, but if you're not shallow it's not bad. It tastes completely unseasoned but nothing a bit of salt and hot sauce can't fix. The portions are massive, I got 2 full meals out of mine.
We were told Sam's is a staple and must visit, so we stopped by before flying back to LA. I can wholeheartedly tell you this place perfectly summed up our trip and added an emphatic exclamation point to our time in Denver. The server/bartenders were super friendly and accommodating despite the rush. Really felt the old school, friendly, neighborhood vibe that made us feel welcome. Very much looking forward to going back!
This was fun! We showed up on a SUPER BUSY night. We sat at the bar. We got a couple drinks and asked what we needed to try, and the sever told us to get the chili. We got one of each, and it did NOT disappoint. Both were really really good. (I try chili everywhere I can.) The green chili was on DDD. They had bingo going. The atmosphere was fun and festive. The restaurant is a diner, so don't expect too much in terms of super clean and polished decor. The seats can be wobbly, the tables are squeezed together. But it's great! We also got the burger, didn't finish. Literally nothing to write home about. But, the server didn't suggest that, and we went against what he did suggest, so that's on us. Would 100% come back.

This place has a cheesecake factory sized menu! It's good they don't rush you when you try to order, because theres a lot to take in! If you're a fan of Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, this place was on there. I got a breakfast burrito covered in Chile verde, and it was pretty good. The service was good and friendly, and everyone in my group enjoyed their food. It gets really busy, especially when the DODGERS are in town (Go Dodgers).
I had a fantastic breakfast at this Sam's no3. I ordered the breakfast BBBBB&T on sourdough bread. The sandwich was enormous, and I barely managed to finish it. The hash browns were also delicious, but they were quite large, so I couldn't finish them. The service was excellent, and the coffee was never cold. The food arrived very quickly.
We came for brunch and overall had a good experience. I ordered the huevos rancheros--great flavors, yummy beans, and my eggs were cooked perfectly. The only downside was that the tortilla on the bottom was extremely soggy, but thankfully they brought a warm tortilla on the side, which helped a lot. My daughter had the burger and said it was cooked medium-rare exactly as she requested and she loved it. We also tried the chili fries, and those were a hard pass for us. They're served in a bowl and ended up very soggy--these might work better served on a flat plate. The chicken and waffles were ok. The chocolate shake was filling but also our daughter got the half size serving. Our server offered this as an option when we told her the 30 ounce would be too large. Nice of her. Service was excellent. I don't remember our server's name, but she was patient, kind, and very service-oriented. The wait for a table was about 50 minutes, but they use Yelp's waitlist system, which tells you exactly how many people are ahead of you, making it much easier to plan and gauge the wait. They were featured on Guy Fieris Diners, Drive ins and dives so it's popular!
As far as "diners" go, this place was the bomb! Amazing biscuits and gravy and breakfast over all! I lived the pork chops! Good coffee! Great atmosphere and a HUGE menu. Glad we were here on a Thursday night- the line was hella long Saturday morning! read more
If you're looking for a true Denver diner experience, I highly recommend Sam's No 3. This place absolutely lived up to the hype! A family oriented spot that is a must stop. What stood out most was the staff. Every interaction was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. Great service can make a meal memorable, and they definitely delivered. The food was equally impressive. One visit, I had the smothered pork chops, which were flavorful, comforting, and cooked perfectly. The next time, I went for one of their massive burritos, and "huge" doesn't even begin to describe it. Packed with flavor and enough for more than one meal, it was everything you want from a classic diner experience. Their menu is known for oversized burritos and green chili favorites, and it definitely did not disappoint. Between the incredible staff, generous portions, and delicious comfort food, Sam's No. 3 has earned a spot on my list of must-visit Denver restaurants. Another business trip to Denver, another chance to check a spot off the list--and if Guy Fieri has been here, you know it's getting a visit. Right in downtown, Sam's No. 3 definitely grabs your attention. Classic diner vibe with a modern twist, busy energy, and a menu that's massive. Seriously--this place has something for everyone, and then some. I came in knowing I had to get back to work, so the legendary "Kitchen Sink" was out (tempting... but no chance I'm surviving that before a meeting ). After going back and forth, I landed on the French Dip. It was good--solid, no complaints--but didn't quite hit that "wow" level I'm always chasing. A little more punch would've helped, and the creamy horseradish definitely should be part of the standard setup--it made a difference. Now my dining partner... he went big. He had the sMacdown Burrito, an oversized burrito loaded with mac & cheese, tots, eggs, and chorizo. He slid me a sample, and I've gotta say--that thing brought the flavor. Bold, fun, and exactly what you'd expect from a place like this. The Verdict: Sam's No. 3 is a fun, high-energy spot with an incredible menu and something for every appetite. My sandwich didn't steal the show, but there's enough here to make me want another run at it. Next time? For a place so busy, the food came out super fast! Burger was cooked perfectly. Hot turkey was scrumptious! Waitress was so nice and we never had to ask for anything since she was on top of whatever we could possibly want or need. read more

You must get the scratch made cinnamon roll it is amazing! Comes out warm and just melts in your mouth and great flavor with the cream cheese frosting. Service was great very attentive and personable. Great diner, great food and atmosphere absolutely would recommend. read more

Fantastic diner and a bit of nostalgia in downtown Denver. The menu is large and impressive, covering everything from diner fare, to coneys, to Greek, to Mexican. An impressive drink menu lets you know this isn't your regular, old greasy spoon. Great service, quick food, and awesome atmosphere. Stopped by and there was a Broncos game later in day so it was packed. But we luckily got a seat right at the counter for breakfast. The service was quick and super friendly. Quick to refill coffee too. The portions are huge. I got a breakfast burrito with chorizo and potatoes and more. No way I could finish it but loved the green chile sauce that came with it. Wow, the menu is massive! We came by for Thursday brunch, and it was quite busy. However, we did get our meals rather quickly! I ordered the Kitchen Sink Omelet - it came with so many types of meats + veggies and a side of green chili. I chose hash browns that could've been cooked longer to be more crispy and sourdough toast. I would get the tots next time! For drink, I got the Van Halen Latte with almond milk - average. Pretty solid place if you're uncertain on what to eat since their menu has so much. It's located near hotels and is perfect for those visiting CO. Loved all the art on the walls! Sam's No 3 is an old school diner with counter service as well as tables and covered out door seating in downtown Denver. It is near the 16th street mall. The area is pretty shady due to the homeless people, but generally safe to walk. The interior is somewhat 50s style diner kind of like Ruby's. The menu is extensive not only having breakfast, lunch, and dinner items, but also a huge selection under each category. On our visit Sean gave us excellent service. Many of their items come in large portions and may be shared. Not sure about the parking situation down town. We got the turkey club with tots on our visit. It was big enough to share and get full. There is a variety of bread to choose from, but we got marble rye. Sour dough was one of the other options. The bread may have been toasted but was soft. Large amount of turkey and fresh lettuce and tomato. Good amount of tomato. Overall the sandwich was very good and we would get it again. However, Morts Deli and Paula's Pancake House in CA make a superior comparable sandwich. If in town there, try those places. If in Denver, Sam's is a good place to go. Definitely will be back when in town and recommend you give them a try. read more
Stopped in because of the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives sign outside. Also helped that it was walking distance to my hotel. Wait was a bit long for a table, but being busy is usually a good sign. This place was the perfect American diner vibe. It had the perfect greasy cheeseburger and massive menu. All the food came out quickly and tasted amazing. The waiters were bantering and quippy with jokes. This is the perfect place to go to after a long day of walking and you just need a pick me up. read more
We the wife and I tried to stop by this place before but had an hour and half wait. So this trip we headed down after we got off the train. We got right in this place is cool great vibe. The waitress was very friendly. They have so many great options on the menu. The Bloody Mary was good and so was our food. The food came out very fast as well. Visited this diner during a layover in Denver! Atmosphere was super cool & restaurant was clean. Our server was very nice & I loved everything I ordered! Just be aware it is a little pricey for diner food, however it is downtown so that would be why prices are a little more elevated. Parking also may be tricky due to the location being downtown as well. Would definitely come back! read more

This is probably Denver's most popular diner, and for good reason. Denver really knows its American diners! I went for the Green Chili Mexi-Burger, and yeah, it's a million calories, but zero regrets. The flavors were fantastic, and the service was impeccable. Definitely a spot I'd recommend--perfect for a hearty, classic diner experience! read more

While visiting Denver we stopped at Sam's No 3 around 1pm. It was a big restaurant with dinner style ambiance. Our service was ok, not the best but no serious complaints. They have a large fun cocktail menu including alcoholic coffees and teas which I love. The food was pretty good! The $3 fruit bowl had GREAT variety. read more

When we travel annually to Denver we literally eat breakfast here every single day! Fun diner style with a million different menu options! Can get crazy on weekends because it's so popular but service is always good and they wittle down the wait list as fast as possible! This is a must have in Denver! read more
We needed to eat before seeing & Juliet (10/10 recommend) and Sam's #3 is always an option in the table. We got our name on the waiting list and they are great about keeping you informed of your spot in line. We were greeted by a friendly hostess even in the bustle of a busy dinner rush. We got seated outside and it was the perfect night for this. Warm but not hot and in a booth facing the street made perfect pre-dinner entertainment. We order wine and a beer because the drinks we like had mixers that we don't like (a margarita doesn't need sweet and sour). My husband and I shared the fried cod sandwich and fries. My husband ordered a cup of beef barley soup as well when our food came, the fries were barely lukewarm and the cod was not hot but hotter than the fries. We had a show to get to so no time to send it back and the flavor was delicious, it just wasn't hot. Our server was helping recommending dishes and it always feels like dining in a familiar kitchen when we come here. A lively, casual, diner that we have been returning to for years. read more

They have a gluten free guild on the menu. It's also a lot of breakfast items so easy to accommodate but there is always chances of cross contamination in a mixed kitchen.
