    Green Chili Fried Chicken Sandwich
    Brittney W.

West Saloon hit all the right notes for a casual, satisfying meal. I ordered the Green Chile Chicken Sandwich with a side salad, and both were genuinely delicious. The salad was fresh, crisp, and way better than your typical "just‑because" side--thoughtful toppings, good texture, and a dressing that actually had flavor. The Green Chile Chicken Sandwich was the real standout. The chicken was tender, the green chile added just the right amount of heat and smokiness, and the whole thing came together in that perfect comfort‑food way that makes you want to take your time with every bite. The vibe was relaxed and welcoming, and the food felt like it was made with care. West Saloon is definitely one of those spots you're happy to stumble into and even happier to return to.

Ate here one evening after a long conference day. Its a big restaurant on 26th street mall so lots of tourists or people visiting for conferences. The food is good and service is reasonably fast, but I do thinks its over priced. $25+ for a bowl of pasta...our waiter was very friendly and knew the menu well. They were super busy but he did his best to be attentive.

This is located right on 16th street so if you are looking for a great place to eat that is healthy and tasty this is your place. The service was outstanding and quick. They have an outdoor seating area right along 16th if you like to people watch. I had the wedge salad with 3 oz steak. It was just right for a light dinner. We also had the kale and quinoa and the salmon. Everyone loved the food. This was our last night in Denver or we would have gone back.

I went on a Tuesday afternoon when it was slow. Service was fine. Food was average. The best part was the ambience within the restaurant itself. With all the great reviews on yelp I was pretty underwhelmed with the burger. I also got the Colorado chili. It was good, not great. Same with the fries. Wouldn't go out of my way to come back. Wasn't a bad experience but was just underwhelmed.

Again, I really wanted to like this place more because it's conveniently located in DT Denver, has a really nice theming and ambience (like classic Old West cowboys, saloon, and such). There's some vintage pieces of decor and furniture there. A mix of different textiles, decor on the walls, wallpaper, etc. Definitely wander around to the restroom to get the experience. Service was friendly and decent, despite the lunch rush. Took a bit of time to pay, but it wasn't too bad. We got the: 1) Rocky Mountain Oysters: -It's bull testicles. I've had this, but Chinese style before. These are deep fried, a bit like popcorn chicken or calamari. It comes with spicy tomato and creamy horseradish dipping sauces. -It's a must if you go to Colorado I'm sure since there's not a lot of restaurants that offer this dish in California at the very least. -It's mostly just chewy breading. I know it's expected for this cut of meat, but with how much you get and the eating enjoyment, it's not worth it. Just ok. What I liked best were the small chilies that came with it. Apparently it's a Colorado classic. So that was the benefit of ordering this dish. 2) Pork Green Chili: -Hatch chiles, seared pork, jalapenos, sour cream, cilantro garlic, and served with flour tortillas. -It's a solid chili. Slight slow burn spiciness with the chiles and jalapenos. The pork is nice and moist and absorbed the flavor of the chili very nicely. 3) Pioneer Meat Loaf: -All natural beef and pork blended with roasted veggies, oats, and Guinness stout. It's finished with an apricot glaze and covered with mushroom demi sauce. It comes with potatoes au gratin and crispy fried green beans. -Meat loaf was moist but a tad salty, even with the slight sweetness of the apricot glaze and the earthiness of the mushroom. The green beans were crispy but didn't have that much flavor so this was also sauce fodder for us. Potatoes were yummy though. 4) Elk Meatball Linguine: -It's 3 oversized meatballs made with 50/50 elk and beef blend, mushroom cream sauce, linguine, and some toasted bread. -This just tastes like a somewhat more blander beef stroganoff. Not creamy and not enough sauce. Bread tastes fine, but this added carb added to the dryness when there's not enough sauce to dip it into. We ended up dipping it into the chili instead. -Dish sounds exotic, but I'd skip it. I'm allergic to alcohol so I skipped that and can't comment on it. Food was just okay, if you don't have the option of traveling faraway from the downtown and you want this old Western theming, it works. Just wish the food quality and taste was just a bit up to par more.

This place is big. Very casual atmosphere with cowboy/Old West theme. They have a brunch menu and a regular one. Went here for lunch and had short rib stroganoff (you would not find this in the brunch menu). It was tender and flavorful, which went well with the egg noodles. I did not think it was super delicious though. Service was good. Giving this place a 4/5.

This place is an absolute gem. From the wine and the burger I'm not sure which I enjoyed more . The star of the dinner was definitely the cast iron chicken pot pie. It was delicious! The Cajun pasta was underwhelming compared to the other dishes and the carrot cake was phenomenal. If I ever visit Denver again, this place will be a repeat for me .

My wife and I went to the West Saloon and Kitchen in Denver Colorado for lunch. Greeted with a smile. Sat immediately. Our server Katrina W. Came over. She was very nice and kind. She recommended dishes. We decided on the Brisket sandwich for her. I got the Steak Fritz. Both were delicious. We also ordered the Carrot Cake. It was huge and delicious. We did the outside seating. It was very nice. All in all everything was great. Our server who was expecting was awesome. Great service. It was a great find. We will return.

Across From the Mall Nice area to eat, right in the heart of 6th Street. The ribeye was a bit tough to chew, but the pioneer meatloaf and Brussels sprouts were really good. Great iced tea, too. Overall, some hits and misses, but worth trying.

Went for lunch and was a typical bar / restaurant. Sat at the bar. Service was a little slow, but the bartender did appear short staffed. I had the chicken pot pie and it was REALLY good. Portion was on the smaller side, but it was very rich and filling. Will definitely go back.

Stopped here as it was close to our hotel and the meals hit the spot. Husband ordered a steak salad which was exactly what he wanted and I had the king salmon which was packed full of nutrients and very tasty. Danielle was our awesome server and kept the water flowing as I was dehydrated from the higher elevation change. Table next to us had the chocolate cake which was huge and delicious looking. If I was younger and still a calorie burning machine I would have definitely ordered it.

Hi... thinking of bringing my 94 mother down to the restaurant...I notice the bathrooms are downstairs... is there an elevator? Thanks.

Yes! I am here now so asked.. and there is an elevator that goes to the downstairs bathrooms!

Is there parking for this restaurant?

There are off street and parking garage options for the 16th St Mall. If you are ordering take out, or have passenger loading needs, our front door is located on the Glenarm side of our corner and has a designated zone for such uses.

One of the bartenders noticed I ordered the hibiscus margarita and asked me, offhandedly, if I was a fan of spice. Yes, please. With that, he cancelled my order and made me something "not on the menu" but what I called the "Patrick special." So good. Thanks, sir! Great location, relaxed vibes, especially on a Sunday evening. The beer was solid, but the food stole the show (mostly across the board). Most of our group was happy with their dishes. I had the steak sandwich with a side salad, and the sandwich was top tier. I'm a sucker for a good sandwich, and this one absolutely hit the spot. It was also pretty large, which made it more of a fork-and-knife situation than a handheld one, but no complaints there. A few people in our party upgraded their sides to the sweet potato fries, which were next level. Perfect balance of crispiness with a hint of sweetness that made them stand out. One miss in the group was the mac and cheese; my sister ordered it and wasn't a fan, felt it was too liquidy/runny and underwhelming compared to everything else we tried. Only minor knock overall was that the kitchen was pretty slow, especially considering it wasn't very busy late on a Sunday evening. Not a dealbreaker, but something worth noting if you're in a hurry. Overall, great first Denver meal; good beer, mostly good food, and a relaxed spot that made for a solid welcome to the city.
