Top to bottom an amazing BBQ restaurant, the only thing I didn't like was the beans. Starting with the service it was AMAZING! We opted to sit at the bar and our very busy bartender could not have been a better hostess. Making suggestions, answering questions, and even ensuring that I got a military discount I would not have thought to ask for at the end of my meal. (I didn't realize I was wearing my Army shirt) The food was outstanding not too much smoke (but still a Smokey flavor) tender and juicy meat, and 3 different sauces on the side to pair with. The Beans were not my favorite but that was a matter of preference in liking very BBQ forward beans. They were still cooked well. The Mac & Cheese was creamy with just the right amount of flavor and the mashed potatoes with country gravy were delicious. My favorite was the Jalapeño cheese sausage which was unbelievably delicious. The cost to food ratio was fair, and while BBQ is a bit more expensive it was very much worth it.

Third time here. Again, very strong, and my BBQ go-to spot now. Sausage, brisket, and ribs are my favorites. I'm also sticking with the Brussels moving forward, as they were very good. My wife enjoyed her brisket sandwich, and while she was disappointed they didn't have potato salad, her fries were fine. Needing something sweet, we went back for a slice of gooey butter cake. Don't let the Saran-wrapped square appearance fool you. It was just gooey enough and delicious. We almost went back to add the chocolate version. Next time, perhaps. Food comes out quick and was delicious. Brisket could've been a bit warmer for my taste, but it was still good.

We visited Post Oak BBQ on a Monday afternoon. The place was relatively packed. You order from the counter, get a number, and the food is brought out to your table. We had the brisket with chips and coleslaw, the chicken wings, and a side of the daily special (a tasty beef stew). Everything tasted delicious and we will definitely be back if in the area.

Visiting Colorado for the first time, I had to make a pit stop for some barbecue, and this place absolutely delivered. I loved that they offer daily specials; since it was Friday, they had a great deal on their burnt ends. I also tried the ribs, $8 for a two-count or $4 for a single, and they were amazing. The jalapeño mac and cheese was incredibly delicious. Honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything tastes so good. I also really appreciated the grab-and-go to-go trays laid out and ready instead of having to ask an employee. That was a new experience for me, and I loved the concept. Ambiance is nice and spacious and great for big groups.

This place was off the hook! A 4.5 if I could adjust the rating. Colorado dwelling from Texas originally, we've been looking for Texas BBQ all over. I have to say we were thoroughly impressed here off the Tennyson strip! The staff was thorough and kind, greeting us in and sending us off with full bellies and smiles radiating. The place was bustling and full, a good sign in my book. We chose a few classics to get a good feel: beef brisket, smoked turkey, smoked wings with collard greens and the house bacon mac as our sides. Unfortunately, rolling in at nearly 7 we missed the honey glazed biscuits and Dino-ribs, already sold out for the day. The wings and turkey were cooked perfectly! I did prefer the juicier flats compared to the drums. The brisket, coming in at third place, was dry unfortunately. The sauces had to carry that one down, although the smoky flavor was there. Greens were absolutely delicious, the bacon mac was creamy and thick and flavorful. The Texas and Carolina sauces were a crowd favorite, tangy with a little kick, just enough to get the sinuses running! They had complimentary white bread (not toasted), cucumbers and jalapeños. Overall, the place was wonderful! I can't wait to go back start of service, see if we get blessed with some of the other meats they got to offer. :)

Best Barbecue I've had in a long time!! The restaurant is super cute with a rustic feel. I especially liked the brick wall and the neon bar signs. Our bartender was amazing! He was attentive and not only fixed our drinks but took our dinner order as well! We totally enjoyed every bite of our order. The wings, ribs, collards and Brussel sprouts were some of the best I've had. I would highly recommend Post Oak Barbecue. Take out or eat in!!!

Literal perfection!!! Got the pulled pork Carolina and it was gone in 2.5 seconds!! Brussel sprouts and jalapeño Mac n cheese were great too. Only thing I regret is not ordering more meat options!! Prolly a good thing I don't live around here or else I'd be there once a week! Sat at the bar and the bartenders were super friendly! Everything came out really fast too. Went later than the normal dinner rush (like 7/8ish) and it was still busy!

Overall rating: 4.5/5 I love Texas style bbq so I was super excited to check out Post Oak Barbecue when I visited Denver. The inside was lively with people going in and out. Once inside, line up to order your meal which they prepare and bring to your table. One thing to note is that they do prefer you order first before finding a table. I came with family on a Tuesday around 7pm and it was decently packed. We parked along the streets and walked on over. The servers were really friendly and took their time explaining their menu. Our food came out within 10 minutes after we ordered. For a party of 4, we got: 1. Brisket (4/5): flavor was good but a bit dry 2. Sausage (5/5): good flavor and had a bite to it 3. Loaded potatoes with pulled pork (5/5): the biggest baked potato I had! Pulled pork was amazing 4. Corn muffin (3.5/5): good but pretty standard. It came with a cinnamon butter which I didn't really like 5. Dirty Mac with burnt ends (5/5): creamy and velvety either great flavor! I loved the burnt ends 6. Cream corn (4/5): good flavor but consistency was a bit watery 7. Brussel sprouts (5/5): these were phenomenal! Great flavor and really crispy! Overall a great place to check out. I'd recommend coming and for sure ordering the Brussel sprouts sides with whatever else interests you!

Amazing BBQ and outstanding service! Best Brisket we have ever had (sorry Dad) get there early if it is a weekend! Bummed they were already out of sausage but a reason to go back. Great cocktails too!

Post Oak Barbecue was a delicious lunch stop on Tennyson Street as we explored this fun & lively area. This little restaurant serves up some of the best Texas BBQ using post oak wood from Texas in their BBQ pits. You order at the counter, then find a table - the friendly staff brings out your food. It was crowded the Sunday we were there & the tables were close together. Parking is on the street. Note, check out their website for a free Pulled Pork Sandwich! We tried a variety of dishes. The Smoked Wings (dry rub & mild bbq) were awesome, very meaty & flavorful. The Loaded (huge) Baked Potato was good as well it just needed more pulled pork & cheese. The Pulled Pork Sandwich was piled high with more crispy onions than pork. However, the pork was really tender & tasty. My favorite was the Brisket Dirty Mac. Though the portion was on the smaller side the mouthwatering brisket was the best & the Jalapeño Bacon Mac & Cheese was just as good. It was topped with crispy onions rings & BBQ sauce. I liked that there were bottles of BBQ sauces at each table. This was an authentic Texas BBQ lunch & thoroughly enjoyable!

My go to bbq spot! It is a little on the pricey side but it's the closest thing I've found to Texas bbq. The service is always fast and friendly, and the restaurant itself is laid back and cool. The bbq is great. I usually get the pulled pork and the burnt ends are only on Fridays and definitely worth the visit! The fried okra is one of my favorite sides. The only thing that would make it more perfect is if they had Texas style sweet tea. Overall, I'd recommend if you're looking for good bbq.

Was nervous to try Post Oak because I was worried it would not live up to the hype but I was wrong!! Best BBQ we have had in Colorado so far. The meats were so tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were creamy and corn muffins were moist (even without the delicious butter). The staff was very friendly and happy to be there. There was plenty of indoor seating and you order at the counter and then set yourself. Decor typical of a BBQ restaurant.

Ordered 2 pulled pork sandwiches, jalapeño mac and cheese, and a banana cream pudding. If you go onto their website, they have a promo if you sign up for emails, you can get a free pulled pork sandwich. My partner and I each redeemed 1 sandwich, and we added the other items. Pulled pork sandwiches were great, meat was very soft and I enjoyed the different BBQ sauces they had. The jalapeño mac and cheese was good as well, definitely on the thicker side and a bit salty. Banana pudding was yummy! Just the perfect amount of sweetness. Service was good and fast, ambiance is nice and clean. Parking is tough, as it's only street parking...we got lucky getting one around the corner!

I will give the Airport location a shot as I haven't been there yet, but with the attitude, ridiculous up-charge for no reason, I definitely won't be going to 44th again. My bowl and my drink cost 29$. Absolutely nuts. I have been going to Tocabe since it opened. When they opened the location in Greenwood Village, I started going there primarily because it was only a few blocks from where we lived. I used to go a couple times a week with my kids or husband in tow. I almost got a job there because I vibed with everyone so well, but my husband got a job at Amazon and we were forced to move to the Seattle area for a couple of years. It is a long trek to get to 44th from DTC. Fraught with all of the traffic issues of 25 and I can tell you it is no longer worth the trek, in my opinion. It was also really cold in there to the point of discomfort. Turn the heat on. Seriously.

The "Restaurant Kid" Litmus Test: Parisi Passes with Flying Colors…read more On my first day in Denver, a childhood friend took me to lunch at Parisi, though he was admittedly a bit apprehensive. Having grown up with Italian heritage on both sides and parents who owned an Italian restaurant, I am notoriously hard to please when it comes to authentic cuisine. He was worried I'd be overcritical; instead, I was completely charmed. Located in a quaint, quiet neighborhood, Parisi offers the kind of authenticity that is rare to find. Here is why it earned a perfect score from a tough critic: The Main Course: The Tagliatelle Ragu was balanced and traditional--exactly what you want from a high-caliber kitchen. The "Woodfire" Factor: The aroma of the woodfire pizza oven hits you the moment you walk in. While we opted to eat inside rather than on the lovely patio, those scents alone convinced me that I have to return specifically for the pizza next time. The Grand Finale: I had to finish the meal with my favorite, Stracciatella gelato. It was the perfect creamy, artisanal end to a fantastic lunch. The service was seamless, the ambiance was inviting, and the food spoke for itself. If you're looking for a spot that feels like a true slice of Italy in the middle of Denver, this is it. I'll definitely be back to tackle that pizza menu!
