The wife and I went here for lunch. Great, great decision. Let's talk about service, food/drink, and vibe. Service. We sat at the bar, although they have cool seats out the front door, and a nice patio also. I loved the bar area. Kook was our bartender. He immediately greeted us, and gave us stellar service throughout our visit. We got some history on the place, along with how they make their food. Sometimes, you get service from someone who might know a menu and the dishes, but it is just knowledge. And sometimes you get service from someone who has true passion for what they are serving. Kook gave us service where every explanation, every description, and every check-in filled was filled with absolute passion for BBQ food. You could tell he loves, loves, loves what he does. Food/Drink. They had a West Coast IPA, which is always a good thing, and the wife had vodka/lemonade. We decided to share the two meat plate with brisket and burnt ends, with mac and cheese and cucumber salad as our sides. The brisket was solid, as was the cucumber salad and mac and cheese, but the burnt ends were ridiculously good. Like, where does it go on my all-time list good. Worth the trip alone. They had sauces on the bar, but the real magic was on a shelf in the back. Our favorites were the green chili and Alabama white. Vibe. I personally LOVED this place. We were there during a slow time, but you got the feeling that it would be a really fun place when packed. Widespread Panic stuff (owners are fans) on all of the walls...another winner for me. OU banner, which my wife loved (owner went to OU). Cool bar area, other parts to sit in, chill music in the background. Loved the energy of the place. I was told also that their French Dip sandwich is another ringer. I plan on coming back to get that next. I highly recommend this place...especially the burnt ends...and see you there.

Awesome all around. Generally well priced for what you get and meat seems of quality, Some of the sides are only okay, but all the meats have been Lack of parking is a bummer but the area is easy enough to find something nearby. Happy they multiple locations! Plus free WiFi

The moment I walked in I was greeted with a big smile! This place feels so warm and welcoming ! We popped in to get some food to go and I was so captivated by the heart and stories and art in this place. They also hold lots of local and fun events like music bingo. The food when we got home was still hot and absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly and there were so many sauces to choose from. There was this jalapeño one that was sweet and spicy and my absolute fave! They have a brisket Swiss dip sandwich (I forget the exact name) but omg yes the roll was fluffy and tasty and the meat perfect and just so much flavor ! We got also some brisket and sausage mashed potatoes and gravy potato salad (I'm a potato gal) and those burnt ends we got OMG... so much flavor and crunch but also juicy how do they do it? I will be doing a reel this week on them for more info if you are curious. And this was not a promo or food given to us or anything like that. Just had such a great experience here for the first time and will be in again soon!

Came for dinner, my partner had the 3 meat plate and I had the dry rub chicken wings with blue cheese. My wings were a bit too salty for me but the blue cheese helped, overall just ok. I didn't get to try my partner's plate but he reported that he enjoyed his selection of meats, overall good. I'm giving a higher score of 4 because a lot of over eateries I've tried during my visit (first time here) in Denver had been too salty for me so it may just be a me issue. Also, service was great, everyone was very friendly and welcoming - very cozy spot!

Food is delicious, flavorful, not drenched in sauce (hate that). I did get the greens and Mac/cheese sides- awesome!!!!! Reminded me of the Midwest bbq joints. FYI- Mac/cheese has lots of black pepper I tried the beef brisket, burnt ends, and fried pork rib tips- recommend all of them! Tom was my server and so fricking fabulous!!!! Thank you!

More like, Holy Smokes BBQ this place is phenomenal. All the Yelp reviews told me to order this place for takeout to a store I was going to. Placed my online order, was ready when I arrived. Indoor & outdoor seating, staff was friendly, everything was clean, and holy moly this place is delicious. I have a high standard for BBQ because my brother is in the food industry as well. Checked out this place for the first time and loved it! We just had a hankering for some BBQ and decided to give this place a try. It's located near Wadsworth and 38th. I ordered online and drove to pick up my order. One thing I liked was there was a parking lot that I just pulled in and went to the front door. I hear this place can get busy but I had no problem finding a spot and getting in to pick up my order on a Sunday afternoon. I must have been a minute early but they told me I could get my sauces towards the back of the area. While I was picking out my sauces they brought my order all packed and loaded into a large hand carry paper bag. This first time we both tried the rib plate. When you add a side dish it comes to around $15. My side dish was fries and hers was a cucumber salad. Other available sides include baked beans and even collard greens! The ribs themselves were meaty and quite good even before adding a sauce. The initial taste was delightful and tantalizing! As an additional surprise we received an extra rib so it was four instead of three. Yum it's just great. There is seating inside and they have a nice outside covered patio. I can see why this place is popular. It clicks all the boxes and it's a true BBQ place. Nothing fancy here but it's spot on for real BBQ. If you're in the area stop in and give them a try. Then enjoy your meal just like we did. I was in and out so fast that I did not take enough photos but I'll post what I did take for your review.

Wanted some BBQ, so I decided to order from here. I went with a 3 meat plate, 2 burnt ends, one brisket with corn fritters and baked beans as my side. As I was driving down, the owner called me and let me know they ran out of corn fritters, and only had one order of burnt ends. I went with another order of brisket and changed to corn bread as my other side. I appreciated the call, he was on top of things! I picked up my food and ate it in my car. The beans were thick and full of meat pieces which I love. The corn bread was more like a corn cake. Super buttery and chewy, it was delicious...maybe the best corn bread I have ever had! On to the meats...........Burnt Ends- Meh...they were just ok. 2 pieces of the 6 were straight up fat, with no meat on them. A tad disappointed in that! The brisket was a little dry, but still tasty enough. Their regular bbq sauce is really good, and I dipped my brisket in that. Solid 3 meat plate minus the 2 shitty burnt ends pieces. Service was great! Cool guys running the spot. Would definitely come back if I lived in the area. read more

5 for the burnt ends and their BBQ sauces both sweet and spicy! Perfection 5 for the smoked Mac n cheese. The shells are the thick kind so it's not a traditional Mac n cheese pasta fyi. The cheese sauce is delish. 4 for the baked beans as they were a tad too soft and needed more bbq sauce, or molasses or something. 4 for the greens. They taste healthy, you can't taste the smoked meat, but there wasn't any savory type flavor. Service was fast! Parking is easy. Tons of seating, restrooms, gorgeous area to sit near the river and with views of the mountain and Coors! Such a cute town and all their food is delish!!! read more

SO IM NOT SURE IF THIS IS THE WHOLE RESTAURANT OR IF IT ES JUST MY SERVER BUT IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR Or GAY OR ANYTHING DIFFERENT DO NOT GO HERE.!!!! MY SERVICE WAS ATROCIOUS!! The white bearded man who served me wearing the red shorts looked at me like I had two heads when I walked in the door asked me if it were to go as if he wanted me to say yes. I paid and tipped him before I sat down. I ordered a sprite and he pointedly poured me water in my face. BARELY checked on me once One of the other patrons had to get his attention so I could get a refill. Didn't even say thank you when I left..Meanehile older white couple in the back are waited on hand foot.SO IF YOU DONT BELIEVE IN RACISM OR PROFILING OTHERS BECAUSE OF WHO THEY ARE DO NOT AND I MEAN DO NOT GO HERE!!! Ok let's get into this spot. It's good. Real good. Texas style with a wealth of sauces to make any sauce guy love them all. Burnt ends were yummy with good bark. Pulled pork was solid! Sides were sides .... But good as any fries! Definatly hit this spot guys. One of the Denver areas top 3 in my book. read more

I was excited to try this place. Sadly I did not enjoy it. I got the burnt ends. Got a couple of ok pieces, the rest was fat. Beans very thick and not good. Many flies buzzing around. No soap in ladies bathroom. Came here for a birthday celebration and was let down. read more

My daughter and I stopped by for lunch today. Our first time here. The food was amazing. We ordered a pulled pork sandwich, chicken, sausage, baked beans, collard greens and the green chile. Everything was delicious. Definitely a must do when you're craving BBQ. read more

Our Thanksgiving dinner was awesome. the turkey was tender and flavorful. the Mac & cheese was great. my husband had 2 servings of the sweet potatoes. Most important, you couldn't find a better group of people at the restaurant. Every person I came in contact was very nice, kind and wanted to make sure my meal was awesome. Picked up 1/2 lb of brisket and pulled pork mac and cheese. The food was SO GOOD!!! We tried all of their bbq sauces and loved the green chili sauce and spicy sauce the most. The bartender was really friendly and the service was really quick! The dining room has a warm and welcoming pub feel. Outside seating as well. Trivia on Wednesday nights and drink specials!!! They will definitely see us again! Great place! read more

Fantastic! We grabbed our dinner to go after ordering from the patio bar window. The bartender was super friendly and helpful. I ordered the Mac n cheese bowl with pulled pork on top and a side of jalapeno corn bread. My husband ordered the 2 meats and 2 sides meal. He ordered brisket, burnt ends, smoked Mac n cheese and potato salad. I wasn't able to finish my meal because I also stole some of my husbands potato salad Everything was so good. The smoked Mac and cheese was the best I've had. Not too smoky or cheesy or dry. The potato salad tastes just like Mom made. I couldn't ask for anything more 10/10 can't wait to go again. read more

Party planning and needed group food that is delicious and filling. Pre-order was easy and staff assisted in recommending the correct amount for the event. The place was spotless, pick up was easy. Major changes for the worse in August 2024 so check the dates as you read reviews. Unfortunately, with these changes other than the local Wheat Ridge vibe it's not much different than any other bbq chain. Used to be good bbq at an average price now average bbq at a premium price. The cost for a standard bbq meal of 2 meats and 2 sides has almost doubled and comes with less since they changed to à la carte. They also got rid of number sauces (now only 2) and there are no more fixins. It's pretty obvious that Rolling Smoke is adding locations, cutting corners and maximizing profit. No shame in that, it is a business after all. just know that is what kind of place it is. The local Wheat Ridge vibe is still there thanks to the location. Still a great place to "meat up" with friends however unless the atmosphere is worth the premium price you might as well hit up a larger bbq chain. The food will be just as good and you'll probably get more. read more

The place is a great location and nice rustic interior - seating comfortable to get my grub on- ribs were spot on - meaty - smoked to perfection - moist - and fall off the bone! Sampled all the smoke sausage - again home run ! Another favorite was the Redneck Cuban which has the most amazing smoked bologna I've ever had. I must add that the burnt ends topped everything and showcased to true pit master excellence as so many places claim the have good burnt ends - this is the very highest watermark in my years and years of eating bbq from coast to coast. I ordered the North of I70 Italian sandwich, and indicated that I wanted mayo, mustard and oil + vinegar. My wife ordered the sweet baby turkey, and also asked for mayo and salt + pepper. Neither of our sandwiches had any condiments on them (pic included). Each sandwich cost $20, and while I realize that the price of good deli meat has gone up, it was definitely a bummer to not have exactly what we ordered on a sandwich that costs so much - $40+ for 2 standard size sandwiches. The other thing to note is that the mushrooms are not fresh - also included a pic of the mushrooms which I assume come from a can/jar. Had I known the mushrooms were not fresh, I would not have ordered them. I was really rooting for this place to be good, but was overall disappointed in the experience and outcome of our order.
