We ordered the Not So Teeny Wahine platter to share and added an okra appetizer, and everything that hit the table was legit. The meats were exactly what you want from a good barbecue joint: smoky, tender, and packed with flavor without drowning in sauce. You could tell the pit did the talking. The okra was a great starter too, crispy without being greasy and a perfect way to kick things off. Sides can make or break a BBQ place and Smokin Dave's nailed them. The mac and cheese was creamy and rich, the mashed potatoes were comforting and buttery, the collard greens had that slow-cooked depth you hope for, and the red beans and rice brought a little Southern soul to the table. Went today to try their $0.99 wings special on Mondays. When they say jumbo wings, they mean it. These were the biggest wings I have ever seen and the best wings I have ever eaten. The Cajun rub is good, but the buffalo is where it is at. I had 5 Cajun and 45 buffalo wings, and a sweet tea. The Cajun rub hides the smoke flavor of the wings, but the buffalo lets the smoke flavor shine. And they provide ranch or blue cheese for free with your wings. I cannot speak for the ranch, but the blue cheese is thick and chunky and perfect for wing dipping. The staff were all super friendly, answering all of my questions and providing me with a large cup of their blackberry BBQ sauce to sample. That blackberry BBQ sauce should be available for purchase, as it is amazing. They also kept my sweet tea refilled. I really appreciate having a very large glass of sweet tea; most places use very small glasses. The restrooms were clean without any annoying smells. The only negative I would say is the comfort of the chairs, hard wooden chairs. I will definitely be returning for more outstanding food and friendly service. read more

Me and my parents did a day trip up to Estes Park recently and on the way home were so hungry. My parents had mentioned they like to eat BBQ here, so we stopped by the Denver location on the way home (but I do see that they have a location in Estes Park as well). While you are waiting (if you dine in), they bring you some home made potato chips that you can use to try the different sauces that they have! (Or just eat as a snack). But they had 4 different sauces to try and they were SO GOOD! We ordered the "Not so Teeny Wahine," which is a platter that comes with a half rack or ribs, half of a chicken, quarter pound of pulled pork, and quarter pound of beef brisket. It came with some corn bread, and we picked double beans and double green beans as our sides. It says it feeds 2-4 people, and between the 3 of us, we still had plenty to take home! This platter cost $48. Well worth it and tons of food. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often! read more

Solid bbq but I really only come here for the pork ribs that are fall off the bone and tender. Friends also liked the brisket. For comparison, I think this bbq is less dry than Gque's. In terms of sides, cornbread, mac and cheese, fries, and green beans are standard. Spiced apple was like a nice little dessert. Would not recommend the corn casserole bake. Staff are so friendly. All of the things you want in a great BBQ joint! It has that Smokey meat smell from the moment you open the door, and a classic wood shed themed interior that is clean and casual. The server was with us almost immediately to get our drink order and make suggestions on what was popular. We couldn't decide so we went with a platter that had most of the meats they offered. Every single food item on the platter was great! The Mac & Cheese as a side, cream corn, ribs and jalapeño cheddar sausage were the best, but genuinely even that was like picking a favorite child because I loved them all. The price was out of this world food! We ate until we couldn't anymore and still took a box full of food to go. This might be the best value I have had this year (2025) so far. Went in and I had to wave the hostess down from behind the bar because she was just dinking around. I'm waiting at my table for my server to show up, doesn't ask me if I want anything to drink or if I'm ready to order she just drops off chips on the fly. I wait there for another five minutes and then she never came back so I got up and I left. If you're the server be attentive, if you are a hostess be behind the hostess counter, and not dinking around behind the bar. This is your job. I've never eaten there before and I've never will. It's ridiculous to have to wave the hostess down just to be seated and then never have your server even look you in the eye or ask if you're ready. Terrible customer service, and can't tell you if the food is any good or not. Just be prepared to not be treated as a priority when you walk in. read more

Best barbacue I've had in Denver. Came in with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. We were sat very quickly. Free chips to start with large waters. Special was the family platters so we went for it and got to try collard greens, beans, okra, coleslaw, pulled pork, brisket, chicken, ribs and biscuits. Best bbq in Denver. We had a couple hours to kill before flying back to ID after an anniversary skiing trip so we did a quick google search for bbq and beers. Not sure how long they smoke the meat but it's worth every second. We ordered some happy hour margaritas and shared a smokin' platter of Texas Beef Brisket and Carolina Pulled Pork with Mac and bbq beans. The food DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I am very picky when it comes to BBQ and feel that Texas has the best, but since I'm not in Texas right now, I'll be coming here in lieu. I ordered the single meat combo with brisket, green beans and homemade chili. This combo also comes with a cornbread muffin! Gosh, this has become our favorite place for some good drinks, great food and even better service. Rarely you can get a pint of beer for under $7, especially when we talk about craft brew. At Smokin' Dave's.. if you hit them up between 3-6PM, you can get a 22oz for about $5 during their happy hour. This has become our go to Happy Hour spot if we didn't want to go far away from the house and/or if we're stopping by our favorite thrift store. Nothing like having a bev before shopping but at least the pricing at the thrift store... you can't get too crazy anyway. :) Joe the bartender has consistently took care of us every time we swing by, I forgot her name but the hostess lady with the Teva shoes is always amazing and friendly too. Not to mention the gentleman that brings us our chips... everyone just great and always made us feel welcome. They have AYCE rib Wednesdays if you're in the mood for ribs. We always love to share a Wahine platter when we go, the potato skins are amazing... you can't go wrong with anything on the menu, all the sides are delicious as well. This place has a big parking lot so stress free getting parked. We went on a Sunday evening and it wasn't too busy. We ordered sweet teas and I got the one meat dinner that comes with 2 sides and cornbread. I got the pork ribs and Mac & cheese and smashed potatoes. The 4 different options of BBQ sauce are already on the table to try - tangy, spicy, Carolina mustard, and sweet. The ribs were great. Meat fell off the bone and it already had a good glaze. It was perfectly cooked and I used the Carolina mustard. The sides were also very tasty! It was plenty of food for me - I ended up taking half of it to-go. Our waitress was super friendly but so were many of the other employees (runners, other waitresses, hostesses). I started with a house Margarita and the catfish tenders to share. The catfish was well seasoned, flaky and delicious. We also had the 3 meat platter which had a lot of food. I had it with brisket, ribs and half chicken and Mac and cheese and smash potatoes for sides. My brother had the same but with pull pork, brisket and ribs and pork bake beans and fries as side. We loved our food. The bricks could have been more fatty but it was flavorful, the ribs were ok , the pull pork was pretty good and my chicken was so juicy and flavorful . For the sides the Mac and cheese was super cheesy, the smash potatoes were made in house and had flavor, and the bake beans was my brother favorite side.
