Has a sort of dive bar feel. Could definitely use a remodel.

It was about what you'd expect walking in. It's got comfort food, greasy fried things to satisfy your cravings, and good green chili. Firstly, their water cups are huge! Loved that. We ordered the chile rellenos, and were asked if the hot green chili was okay. We were excited that they actually serve spicy green chili. I got a side of rice and he got a side of onion rings. The onion rings were nice and crispy, but the oil tasted old and bitter. My rice was so over cooked that it was just mush. But the star was the chile rellenos. I would eat a whole portion to myself next time. We were so hungry we didn't snap a pic, but any time we're in that area, we'll get another platter of those! Our server was also friendly and worked fast. Service was awesome.

Supposed to be two Cheese Enchiladas somewhere under all that.

Just Meh. It's a dark and divey place. Met my colleague here and was sat in the bar at a high top table. I had no idea they even had a dining room as I would prefer to sit there because the bar itself had several men drinking at noon and causing a serious ruckus. It was difficult to have a conversation for sure. Our server was really sweet but she got my colleague's order wrong so it had to be redone. Our food arrived with everything being smothered and honestly, my cheese enchiladas were actually folded over corn tortillas with some white cheese inside. It hardened quickly and didn't have much flavor. The green chili was pretty tasty but again, it was all mingled together. I asked for a side of beans and rice but it was thrown into my plate and mixed together. I dislike the rice they used and wish they would use normal rice, not the "converted" stuff. The beans weren't anything special. Bottom line: Not a fan of the food. The owners haven't even changed the name of the building as Charlottes Web was all over the place. Definitely a place for cheap food. Lots of construction people and truckers here.

It soured me on the place, so I just stopped going. But recently, a coworker suggested we get lunch there, and I figured it had been long enough to try it again. I'm really happy I did. The vibe is great, sort of a sports bar feel but with a Mexican twist, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. I got the Reunion Combo, and it was a ton of food. It had a chicken tamale and a crispy relleno covered in this really tasty pork green chile, a red chile cheese enchilada, and a ground beef crispy taco. Everything was delicious, and the plate was huge. I definitely felt like I got what I paid for with the meal. The only thing I didn't like was the $4 ice tea. It kind of feels like a cheap way to make the bill bigger at the end, but honestly, the food and the better service made it worth it. I'm glad to have this spot back on my list for lunch in Commerce City.

Reclaimed metal sheet walls, concrete floor, a nice looking bar and good 80s/90s music piping in. The menu offers many taco options, which you purchase a la carte. I took a risk and got the ahi tuna taco, and a steak fajita taco. Both were good - but I was most impressed with the Ahi. It was better than the sushi I have had at a sushi restaurant since moving here to CO. Nice Asian sauce with sesame seeds throughout. Super good. It's light, though. It is in a butter lettuce "taco shell", but honestly I think putting it in a true corn or flour tortilla just would not mesh well. The service was very very pleasant and attentive. We even had to move a couple times because our party number kept changing, and she was as pleasant as can be. I look forward to heading back and trying something else. Co-workers tell me you really can't have a bad taco there, and I think I might challenge that notion and find out for myself! Cheers!

A Denver Gem: State House (Commerce City) If you find…read moreyourself near the northern edge of Denver, State House in Commerce City is an absolute must-visit. It has that perfect "rustic-chic" Colorado vibe--warm, wood-accented, and welcoming--making it just as good for a casual lunch as it is for a weekend dinner. The Burger Battle * Bison Burger: This was the star of the show. It's lean but incredibly juicy, with a deep, rich flavor that puts standard beef to shame. * Pro Tip: Pairing it with the tomato bisque instead of fries was a game-changer. The soup was creamy, vibrant, and had a slight sweetness that cut through the richness of the bison perfectly. * Pub Burger: A classic done right. Two patties, perfectly seared, with a side dijonnaise that adds just the right amount of kick. It's everything a pub burger should be--messy in the best way possible. The side garden salad was surprisingly fresh and crisp, providing a nice light balance to the heavy-hitter burger. The Atmosphere & Service The space is beautiful--modern design meets local charm. We were particularly impressed by the service; the staff was attentive without being overbearing, and you can tell they take pride in the locally sourced ingredients they're serving. The Verdict Whether you're a fan of wild game like the bison or you just want a solid, high-quality cheeseburger, State House hits the mark. It's rare to find a place where the "side" soup is just as memorable as the main course, but that tomato bisque is worth the trip alone. I'll definitely be back for another round of that bison burger!
