Dive Bar Alert! Probably THE most dive bar I've found in Denver in a while. The wings are GOOD! Lots of flavor variations. Fries were perfectly crispy! The onion rings were huge! We were a party of 15 and our server was awesome. Even for how busy the place was the food came out in acceptable amount of time. When we first arrived, there was no seating available but we were slowly able to take over 3 tall tables. All the other patrons were nice and talkative and let us know they were about to leave so we could take their table. You want beer, wings, and foodball? This is your spot. We will go back! read more

I never was made to feel so bad. I took my wife and grandkids to eat today on Sunday. I was approached and was told that they don't sever kids on Sunday. There's nothing that states that. I was also told no kids after 4pm during the week. If that's the case you would put that on your website or when you come in. I will never go back after this encounter. We decided to stop in to Rome to watch some early football and enjoy some lunch and a beer. We were greeted once we walked in and offered menus quickly. Our server was attentive and quick except after we were done eating our food sat in front of us for a long time before she came around for us to ask for to go boxes. Not sure what the deal was there. The beers are decently priced and they have a good variety. Everything I have had there to eat before was good until this time. I had the fish n chips and it was a flavorless flat too crispy piece of fish that was hard to eat because it was so crispy. The tartar sauce lacked flavor as well, so I couldn't use that to drown the fish flavor out. The fries were delicious though and they give you a heaping portion of them. Seasoned well and cooked perfectly. I did try a friends tuna sandwich and they made it with diced green chilis. I have never had it like that before and it tasted amazing. I'll have to remember that for next time. Otherwise, cool place to hang out. They have tons of TVs and great setup for watch multiple football games. read more

Romes is ya nice lil neighborhood sports bar. I always love coming here because the people are real & Mas cool from the door man to the bartenders & servers. The energy is always good. Great place to come kick it with ya crew, watch sport, play pool, etc. The food is good and plentiful. After the 1st Friday Night Lights of the '23 season, we stopped by for some wings & burgers. The service was great. We were greeted by the beautiful Aksana. Every time we have come in, her service has been great, like always. I will warn you, though, don't look her in the eyes, because you will be memorized by those green eyes & she will have you ordering everything on the menu, lol. I opted for the peppered blue cheese burger and an IPA. Aksana immediately came back & let me know they were out, so I chose Juice drop IPA......guess what they were out, my luck recently. She suggested another she knew they had on tap. Aksana felt bad because they were out, I let her know not a problem at all. I like it when a server lets you know things are out and gives you suggestions; it shows the care and know their restaurant. It happens, no sweat! All the food came out in a reasonable time. The peppered blue cheese burger was very well seasoned and flavorful. The seasoned fried were nice & crunchy. The IPA Aksana suggested was perfect, too, so in all, a good night. If you are ever in the area and want to watch sports & a chill down to earth place, drop on in!!! This is one of my favorite neighborhood sports bars! Used to be a little dive bar with some great food options and a cool laid back feel. Well that's changed when we went in grabbed a spot took a while to get greeted. Again I knew what to expect. Unfortunately we had bad service from the young server she just wasn't friendly and only cared about her crew of loud mouth customers sitting next to us. It was just me and my wife so wasn't expecting a lot of engagement from the server but she basically just took our drink order and food order and left never came back for refills until we were done with our food. I order the Philly Cheese and French Fries this was good as always so kudos on that. My wife ordered Chicken wings and chilie relleno nothing special but was ok for bar food. This place sucks, please don't come here. The booze is overpriced and the servers are so ugly.

I worked here during the pandemic and it was just wild to me how hard they tried to resist health precautions for covid, they even altered their maximum occupancy sign to allow more people in to combat covid capacity restrictions and their tables were never six feet apart and they constantly had people standing near the end of the bar without masks when patrons were supposed to be seated without a mask on. Also the food is sub par. Just another business who puts profits over customers and their own employees. read more

Interesting place... Dive bar meets hooters? Scantily clad waitresses who brag about doing drugs. Cold coffee. Didn't get any food cause they serve seafood (I'm allergic) and I'm sure they use the same grill for everything. Bartender wouldn't let me sit at a single table despite me being alone and instead had me join another table (I didn't even know the people!) because the bar was supposedly going to fill up, it never did. Carnival atmosphere in this bar with a shuffle board as a room divider Golden Tee as a focal point, blaring TVs with sports a plenty and delciously gorgeous gals wandering like ferral cats serving smile s by the mile. I wavered between 3 and 4 stars largely due to the sole purposes in eating at Rome ' s Bar Food, Beautiful women and for the lucky few that aren't working, Beer. Let's face it, the food works. It's nothing to write home about- but in my several visits to Romes with clients and collegues, I've never sent anything back either. The Waitresses are friendly and pleasant in several ways. They generally have the uncanny ability to brighten your day- somehow- Strangely enough, I've probably only had a couple of beers there- which also added to the magical mood changing effects of Rome's. Rome's is an awesome place to watch any of your favorite sports. We went there on a Sunday to watch football games and the environment was great, the staff was alright. This place only receives 3 stars because it's a good place to hangout and watch games, but the food is horrendous. Now, I've only tried 2 things there, but they were both repulsive. We got 12 wings, half spicy garlic and half original. They came out pretty quick, too quick..either they were sitting under a heat lamp for way too long or just severely overcooked and maybe some really bad fryer oil. There was no batter on these wings, just straight up fried chicken. The texture of the wings resemble what I would imagine the taste of dried bat carcass, wrapped in those pigs ears you give to your dogs and then you just pour a bunch of franks red hot sauce on top. We did not finish the wings. We were feeling indulgent and also ordered French fries. The portion was good and the fries were very hot. After letting them cool for a bit we started to dig in. Neither of us could eat more than 2 fries. They had an extremely thick skin which seemed to be filled with a dry dusty nothingness. Hate to keep using these types of metaphors, but it was as if we were eating lizard skin, stuffed with prairie dust, fried in a vat of sludge. I would definitely come back for drinks and games, but never ever for the food. You're never going to feel that great after eating wings and fries, but somehow this meal left us feeling as if there was a miniature monster truck rally inside our stomachs. As if rednecks with paychecks was happening inside my large intestine. Maybe some of the other menu items are good, but I'm not going to risk getting food poisoning again. read more

I was invited by a friend to meet at Romes for lunch while I was in Denver for work. I'll be completely honest, when I first walked in I expected to be disappointed. I can't put my finger on the exact reason, but nothing about the place impressed me until a server said hello. Granted she was an attractive woman, but she was nice about it. Nothing snotty about her, or anyone else I spoke to while there. I chose a table while I waited for my friend to arrive, and was greeted promptly. Once the other half of my party arrived, service was fast and always courteous. Drinks arrived quickly and refills were offered at just the right time. Food was very good, far better than I could have hope based on my experience in similar places over the years. All in all, someplace I would visit again. read more

Gag this place is absolutely disgusting. Management should really consider dimming the lights or CLEAN YOUR ESTABLISHMENT!! There were fruit flies flying all over the place. First round of drinks we ordered were two crown and cokes and a pitcher of beer. The beer cups were covered in finger prints and my crown and coke had a maroon lipstick smear around the rim of the cup?! What the hell?? I asked for a clean glass and was thrown shade by the waitress. We didn't even care about the beer glasses!! We ordered a round of shots to find a dead fruit fly floating around in it when I asked the waitress to replace the shot I was told I would still be charged for it. No big deal, as we were out to drink, poor it up. Then we get our appetizers, yet another fruit fly floating around in the ranch dressing!!! What kind of hell am I in?! I decided to got to the ladies room to compose myself only to be mortified when I witnessed my waitress, yes my waitress walking out of a stall bypassing the sink and out the door to serve her doting admirers. She didn't even rinse her hands!! Romes is a bar I've been going to every Thursday during volleyball season for about 8 years. I only go on those Thursday nights, so that is all my review is based on. The waitresses are all really, really nice. One of 'em actually did the refi on my house! This is a bar where once you get to know the staff, it can really be like a second home. Which prompts the question, "Do I want my second home to be a bar?" You should probably answer 'no' to that. Unfortunately, alcohol can be very gripping to the soul..
