I can't believe we've lived in the area for 8+ years and just now discovered Venalonzo's. We have been depriving ourselves! A no frills spot in the corner of a strip mall with great food, friendly service, and amazing prices! I ordered 4 mini kids burritos expecting them to be bite sized at $2.50 a piece and were shocked to find that I could only finish 1.5 because they were so generous. The chips and queso was also excellent. My partner also loved the quesabirria; he thought it was very flavorful and tasty. We went here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy, but we were able to get a shaded spot outside on their patio. We shared 3 quesabirrias tacos and 3 street tacos - carne asada, al pastor, and barbacoa. The quesabirrias tacos were definitely the start of the meal, they were so so good! As for the street tacos, we felt the carne asada and the al pastor were a little dry and did need some of the salsa from the salsa bar (which was a nice perk), and I will admit I was pretty disappointed there was no pineapple on the al pastor; the barbacoa was the best of the three. The price for all of this was around $26 with a tip which was extremely reasonable! We would definitely go back, but likely both get quesabirrias tacos. read more

I have been wanting to try this place and sad how much of a let down it was. Came in during lunch for a pick up order, fairly busy but not too long of a wait. For two people, ordered a set of 3 tacos (2x barbacoa and carnitas) and then another 3 tacos (asada, carnitas, and pastor), birria egg rolls, and a bean, cheese, and rice burrito. Not a big deal but they put all the tacos in one box and I was able to differentiate which 3 tacos that I ordered. This place is super stingy with salsa. They gave me 2 tiny containers for salsa and then when I asked for a couple more, the lady said she could only give me two more. :( Excited to try the food and started off great with a simple bean, cheese, and rice burrito but outside of that everything else was very meh. Not sure how but all the meats were so dry, I ordered braised/slow cooked meats (barbacoa and carnitas). Asada and pastor were okay as well. Was craving some birria and quick answer to satisfy that was Venalonzo's. We got the 10" Birria Pizza and Birria Egg Rolls. We placed the order online (via Toast), got a text confirmation it was ready for pick up, and went straight to the staff at the counter got our food. And even though this was a to-go order, food was still so fresh, egg rolls still crispy and cheese was still gooey. They also have updated their space since I was last there. The food is greasy. The ambience is non-existent. Without a doubt, the worst part of the experience was the "service". The phone number they advertised to place an order was connected to a fax machine so I drove out to order. When attempting to inform the lady at the counter about the phone number issue, she was incredibly rude and impatient and decided it was a good idea to raise her voice at me. I cannot wait to come back to Venalonzo's. The flavor, the food, and the options are not lacking at this spot. We heard that they won the best taco challenge last year and were in the area to visit family. I'm so glad that we made the drive to have their birria ramen and tacos. My goodness, this has to be one of the best, if not the best, birria consume in Colorado. I decided to try Venalonzos after hearing so many people rave about their birria tacos and even the birria pizza. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. The food wasn't terrible, but it didn't live up to the hype.. just average at best. The guacamole was a major disappointment; it had an oddly herbaceous, earthy flavor that tasted more like parsley than cilantro, and I could barely recognize it as guac. Great traditional Mexican in Centennial CO. They have probably the best authentic Mexican food in the area. Pretty much everything on the menu is great. I'm partial to the Enchiladas, Chile Relleno, Taquitos with consumè, and the chilaquiles. If you ask for it, they'll bring the heat unlike many places out here. The service is always fantastic. We came in late this Tuesday evening, 8:45, They were nearly packed, Sidewalk seats were full, weather was warm, felt like an Ensenada evening. After sampling a Venalonzo's at previous events, I've been itching to visit their brick-and-mortar location, and being close to home, today was the day! This little spot is a hole in the wall, but a popular one at that! We arrived at 1pm to a line almost out the door! There is seating outside on the patio and inside, which we were able to snag (inside) to beat the 90-degree heat! The interior is quaint, filled with pops of color, Front and center upon arrival is the massive menu, featuring all of the goodness that's made in house. Everything from tacos, burritos, to nachos and chimichangas is offered - and the famed quesabirria tacos. We opted for the latter on our visit today (an order of 4 for $18), and OMG! The meat is so fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the ooey, gooey cheese was just right - along with the perfect grilled/frying on the outside. YUM. The consume was oily, but light and created the most perfect bite!! The carne asada fries are also delicious ;) The staff here, is truly amazing. SO kind, welcoming, friendly and has this spot running like a well-oiled machine! Cranking out meal after meal for hungry customers! This place always hits the spot and I'm so glad for the second much larger location in Parker with lots of seating and a bar. I always tend to get the taco plate with a chicken and al pastor taco. Both are always cooked and seasoned to perfection. The taco plate comes with just the right amount of food. The sauce/side bar has lots of additions you can dress your food up with. You order and pay at the counter before receiving your food and I've never waited more than 10 minutes to receive my food. I want to go back and try breakfast at some point. read more

I tried Venalonzo's for the first time a few weeks ago and have since been back four times and recommended it to essentially every person I've spoken to. Their quesabirria tacos are delicious, easily the best I've had in Denver. We also tried the Chilaquiles, quesabirria pizza, and hot wings. Everything we've had has been amazing.
