10" Birria Pizza
Isa B.

Place was pretty small and busy on the inside, but service was quick and employees were nice. They also had a station with salsa, limes, peppers, etc. that was self-serve and was a huge perk. I had heard phenomenal things about their birria, so decided to get the birria pizza (so really just a quesabirria in a pizza box lol). The birria was tender and the consommé was the perfect consistency and flavor. I also thoroughly enjoyed the salsas that it came with, and they added a nice balance to the richness of the birria, along with the radishes and lime. I would definitely recommend ordering birria and dining in, mainly for the toppings and salsa/freshness of the birria!

Everything is delicious here! They have fantastic tacos and a great salsa bar. Really cute location and great service. I've also had the pleasure of sampling many of their items at a couple events they've catered and every single bite is bliss.

I cannot wait to come back to Venalonzo's. The flavor, the food, and the options are not lacking at this spot. We heard that they won the best taco challenge last year and were in the area to visit family. I'm so glad that we made the drive to have their birria ramen and tacos. My goodness, this has to be one of the best, if not the best, birria consume in Colorado. We had a few family members with us so we opted for the birria pizza and were pleasantly surprised with the flavor and the taste. Not pictured, we also had horchata which was also great. The service was fast and there were options to sit inside and outside. Overall, I would definitely drive out of my way to eat here again.

Guac - made with parsley and not cilantro? Herby and missed the mark. 0/10

I decided to try Venalonzos after hearing so many people rave about their birria tacos and even the birria pizza. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. The food wasn't terrible, but it didn't live up to the hype.. just average at best. The guacamole was a major disappointment; it had an oddly herbaceous, earthy flavor that tasted more like parsley than cilantro, and I could barely recognize it as guac. The marinated onions had an overpowering oregano/Italian spice note that clashed completely with the Mexican flavors. It honestly felt like two different cuisines colliding in one dish. Overall, I'd give it an average rating. With so many other solid Mexican food options around, this isn't a place I'd go back to.

It was decent but not what I expected from all the craze. I wasn't a fan of their salsa but I'm sure others love it. It being warm and more like a green chili threw me off. I got the birria pizza and it was good.

Great little taco restaurant in Centennial. Menu features burritos and tacos. Birria taco was very good. Also enjoyed the carnitas street tacos. The burrito was decent but could have used some more ingredients. Optional bottled sodas or fountain drinks. Some inside and outside dining but also ordered to go. Great staff. Definitely would return over chain options. They do have breakfast items.

After sampling a Venalonzo's at previous events, I've been itching to visit their brick-and-mortar location, and being close to home, today was the day! This little spot is a hole in the wall, but a popular one at that! We arrived at 1pm to a line almost out the door! There is seating outside on the patio and inside, which we were able to snag (inside) to beat the 90-degree heat! The interior is quaint, filled with pops of color, Front and center upon arrival is the massive menu, featuring all of the goodness that's made in house. Everything from tacos, burritos, to nachos and chimichangas is offered - and the famed quesabirria tacos. We opted for the latter on our visit today (an order of 4 for $18), and OMG! The meat is so fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the ooey, gooey cheese was just right - along with the perfect grilled/frying on the outside. YUM. The consume was oily, but light and created the most perfect bite!! The carne asada fries are also delicious ;) The staff here, is truly amazing. SO kind, welcoming, friendly and has this spot running like a well-oiled machine! Cranking out meal after meal for hungry customers! Portions are huge and pricing is on point, so 10/10 recommend coming here to share in the goodness!

This place always hits the spot and I'm so glad for the second much larger location in Parker with lots of seating and a bar. I always tend to get the taco plate with a chicken and al pastor taco. Both are always cooked and seasoned to perfection. The taco plate comes with just the right amount of food. The sauce/side bar has lots of additions you can dress your food up with. You order and pay at the counter before receiving your food and I've never waited more than 10 minutes to receive my food. I want to go back and try breakfast at some point.

Chimichanga, with the right amount of vegetables!

We came in late this Tuesday evening, 8:45, They were nearly packed, Sidewalk seats were full, weather was warm, felt like an Ensenada evening. When most places are cleaning up giving you the "Don't bother me it's late vibes" Venalonso's was rocking , food was cooked with love, served with a smile, with choice Mexican music playing, I felt welcomed, not a bother. Like I was at a fiesta. Chimichanga was crispy , not greasy, and really flavorful, combined with a Margarita, one of the best ever late night/ anytime meals ever, love it.

i almost did drive thru somewhere else because it was soooo busy inside and i'm soooo glad i didn't. the service was VERY fast and the food was DELICIOUS! sometimes you think "it must be good if it is this busy" and that rings true here. i did takeout and noticed quite a few others that were waiting for their takeout too. the takeout presentation was perfection! i will be coming back.

Quesabirria
Doen L.

Quesabirrias here rule! Got 3 of them. They were cheesy, flavorful, delicious, and filling! The quesabirrias are the menu item that you have to try! We also got the torta to try, but we got it without mayo, so I feel like it might not have been the best representation...the house marg was strong, but not super tasty otherwise. It's cute in here! Love seeing the colorful vibe and decor. Service was great and they were very nice. It was busy on a Friday evening, even with cold and snowy weather. There were only a few open spots left to sit at, but I suppose that's the ideal for an establishment - busy enough to feel lively but not too busy! Would definitely come back here and I'm already excited to try other things on the menu!

I tried Venalonzo's for the first time a few weeks ago and have since been back four times and recommended it to essentially every person I've spoken to. Their quesabirria tacos are delicious, easily the best I've had in Denver. We also tried the Chilaquiles, quesabirria pizza, and hot wings. Everything we've had has been amazing. As for the pizza, only get it if you're planning to share or if you're incredibly hungry, it's massive. The interior is cozy, table seating is first come first serve, but the food comes out fast so I've seen tables turn over rather quickly.

I eat here a lot, it's good stuff. Love this place. Always playing good music. Exactly what you would expect for this kind of spot. Food always comes out fast!

Birria tacos were great. Wish they would've given me more pickled onions though. They just gave me 4 skinny ones and called it good.

The steak burrito was very good and flavorful and a decent size. Wasn't the biggest fan of the green chili smothered atop of the burrito; however, it was alright. It was a bit too sweet and tangy for my preference. The al pastor sope was very tasty, although they missed the pineapple i requested. I'd give the sope 5 stars, flautas 3.5 stars, & had I gotten a handheld burrito instead of a smothered one, I'd easily give it a 5 as well. my lunch date's al pastor burrito was good sized but was luke-warm and missing the pineapple he requested. he also ordered it with a green chili smother, which he didn't care for. The chili tasted sour, & he couldn't really determine the flavor (maybe lots of lime?), but it overpowered the flavor of the whole burrito. he well go back and try it again - definitely without their green chili. he also had a chili relleno which was very flavorful and average in size. the location is great with plenty of parking. the restaurant was fairly quiet, despite the time of day and number of patrons there. really nice staff. service felt slow, but we were famished, so that could be why. prices are rather palatable. I'd certainly return here again.

I ordered the taco bowl which came in a traditional taco shell bowl that was crisp and crunchy, but the bowl was about 75% lettuce and little to no meat and or other toppings except for some mushy bean paste that was mostly used to glue the bowl to the plate. Overall an OK experience.

This was covered with a green chile sauce (very mild), so most of the chimichanga was not crispy when I ate it (got it to go back to work). It was a decent size, and had a good amount of carnitas in it. I'd say it was good, but the carnitas were a little bland for my taste, as was the green chile sauce. There wasn't enough sour cream or guac in my opinion for the size of the chimichanga. I might try to order this again with another meat - probably ground beef, though I'd ask for extra sour cream and guac. I also ordered a side of crispy chile rellenos. That looked good, but was also just good - even when mixed with the green chile sauce. It had plenty of lettuce, tomato, etc., but didn't come with sour cream or guac. I won't order this again. I used Tapatio on both items and it helped - but didn't really change my impression of the meal.

Mothers Day. The…read moreservice at Sazon was honestly horrible from start to finish. We waited an unreasonable amount of time for almost everything, and the staff seemed completely inattentive and disorganized the entire visit. It felt like customers were more of an inconvenience than welcomed guests. Trying to get simple things like drinks (we never got to order refills), check-ins, or updates on food took way too long, and communication from the staff was poor throughout the experience. Even when issues were brought up, there was urgency and concern but then forgotten the moment they walked away from the table. What made the experience even worse was that by the end of the meal, the service had become so bad that we were literally trying to pay just so we could leave, and even the manager could not seem to bring themselves to come process the payment in a timely manner. We sat there waiting just to give them our money and leave. Finally a different manager told us we can just leave no need to pay. Unfortunately, the bad service completely overshadowed the meal and made the overall experience frustrating enough that we would not return. This was our second time giving them a chance to make it up bc the first time wasnt any better :(

I think we're all a little tired of places calling something a happy hour and then charging almost full price. Not here. The happy hour deals are legitimately good, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back. The crunchy tacos are one of my favorite things on the menu and getting two for $5 feels almost unheard of these days. Pair that with a margarita and you're set. The Doritos nachos are another favorite. I know how that sounds, but trust me. Order them. The chips and queso, pastor tacos, and asada tacos are all solid too. And if they have the coconut frozen margarita, get it. Add pineapple and suddenly you're mentally on vacation. I've been here for happy hour, brunch, and dinner, and I've always left happy. They have an AWESOME happy hour menu from 11-6 every day and drinks are decently priced, which is the best thing they got going for them, IMO. I sat at the bar and got the soft chicken tacos. I'm a huge fan of Mexican food and these were mid at best and closer to something from Taco Bell than something you'd get from a taco truck. The bartenders and servers weren't necessarily attentive or engaging, even though there were only three of us sitting at the bar. From what I saw, the drinks being made for the guests in the dining room at least looked decent. If the bartenders were a bit more attentive, next time I would've just came in for some drinks, but my experience sitting at the bar kind of killed that desire for me.
