I recently ate at taco Selene it's a little hole in the wall taco spot in Aurora and I really enjoyed this place. I got the house special fish taco and the chicken taco and a chicken sopes and everything was seasoned so well! just overall good cooking and their salsas paired very well with the tacos and they have a variety. We also tried the Jamaica drink. It was good. I wish the flavor was a little bit stronger, but I did like that. It wasn't overly sweet. read more

Yum! Everything you've heard about it is true- best tacos in Aurora. The end. Whatever they use to marinate the meat is absolutely divine. Carne Asada taco was melt in your mouth delicious. The Al Pastor taco has a sweet and tangy taste. It pairs well with everything. The salsa bar is a serve-yourself-delicious treat with fresh ingredients and superb spice. Service is super fast with tacos coming out about 4 minutes after you place the order. The dining area offers many seating options. Love and will be back again. I visit Tacos Selene almost weekly. Their tacos never disappoint. I've tried the asada and pollo tacos with all the fixings and it was delicious. The price is good for the amount of food you get. The service is quick and staff is always friendly. The self-serve bar with the optional toppings is where they lose a star. I've seen people use the same tongs for all the toppings and even reach in with their hands. I'm often deterred from getting anything from that area because of this. read more

I'm from California and grew up in a predominantly Mexican neighborhood...so trust me when I say that this restaurant is LEGIT! The prices here are some of the best around! $2.50 for a taco ($2 each for Taco Tuesdays), and $9 a burrito or quesadilla. They serve authentic, genuine flavors and there's a self-serve salsa/condiment bar with lots of great options. This last time around, I ordered 2 tacos de bucce (cheek) and a carne asada burrito with sour cream. My tacos were very flavorful and paired very well with the habanero/orange salsa. My burrito was absolutely delicious and so filling! It's packed very thick and I had plenty of leftovers. This is my new go-to Mexican food joint and I look forward to returning! read more

This place wasn't for me. The order was delivered promptly and I enjoyedthe music. That's pretty much all the pros. The place isn't as clean as I'm accustomed too. I ordered tacos. I went here on a recommendation from a friend, and I told him I wasn't sure if I wanted to curse him or thank him because this place is addictive! This small business is in a strip mall off of 6th Avenue between Buckley and Chambers. Food is made to order and at $2.50 for tacos, cheap! The meat is flavorful, seasoned well, and tender. Served on corn tortillas with onions and cilantro, it can be eaten on its own--but if you want some spice (and I mean SPICE), head over to their salsa bar. Pickled veggies and lime as well as multiple fresh salsas await to accompany your tacos, tortas, sopas, burritos, or quesadillas. You can eat in the restaurant or get it to go. The food though was just okay, I wouldn't go back for Mexican food here. My wife had heard about Tacos Selene as a known place for quality tacos. While she had tacos and loved them, I'm more of a quesadilla guy so that's what I went for. I was very impressed. I chose the al pastor as the protein and it was juicy, flavorful and delicious. Along with great food, the service was quick and helpful. I guess the only possible criticism is that they don't have chips and salsa/queso which tends to be a Mexican food staple. But that was ok as we definitely didn't walk away hungry read more

No frills taco shop in Aurora. From all the taco restaurants I tried in Colorado, I like Tacos Selene the best. It totally gives the mom and pop shop vibes. You order from the counter first, they give you a number and then sit wherever you want. As you wait for your tacos, tortas or burritos, go to the salsa and condiments bar to grab the limes, 4 different types of salsa, sliced radishes, etc. It's my first time here but I definitely enjoyed the lengua and carne asada tacos. I can't decide which salsas were my favorite but the orange one definitely has a kick- to the point that I had to wipe my nose and all that lol. Pretty spacious casual local taco shop with self serve sauce bar and soft drink dispenser machine. This is my favorite taco restaurant in Aurora for very affordable and delicious taco Tuesday. Fast food restaurant system to order at the register, they give you a card with number to hang up, and bring food to your table (so not really that much "service"). Green sauce is mild, orange sauce is medium, and brownish red sauce is pretty spicy. Strongly recommend the horchatta as must order drink! read more

On a rare outing in Aurora, we decided to check out the local culinary cuisine. As tacos are ALWAYS a good idea, we drove ourselves straight to Tacos Selene. I had the adobada, asada, and pastor tacos. All were DELICIOUS! If I had to pick, I'd say the adobada was my favorite. I love a good salsa bar and therefore, took samples of every single thing. The tacos are so flavorful that they don't really need anything extra, but I enjoyed the orange (hot) and the roasted green chili salsas. I also appreciated the pickled red onions. Always a nice addition. Our daughter had rice and beans and those were super yummy as well! She also had a fruit punch Jarritos. She was so excited to see the variety of flavors available. Hubs went rogue and ordered a burrito with asada, but enjoyed his too. All this for like, $26. Unbelievable! What a deal. We will likely not be back in the area, but if we are, we know where to get our taco fix. read more

I don't know if I stumbled in the hood but everyone knows that hood food is usually the best and today was Taco Tuesday!! $2.00 a taco, which I had 5 tacos. 2 carne asada, 2 chicken, and 1 al pastor. They had a salsa bar and I like to mix up the hottest hot sauce with the mildest one to give flavor to the taco. I really enjoyed my tacos and the price, the atmosphere not so much. It felt like the restaurant had never seen a beautiful black woman before and it showed with the staring from staff and patrons. With that being said, we got our order to go and we both enjoyed our meal. Thank you for the good food not so much for the service. Arguably one of the best street tacos I've had so far here in Colorado. I had this for lunch on Friday at the suggestion of my coworker. I did not however, get to experience going into the restaurant myself to get the entire experience since I was overwhelmed with tasks after tasks at work. I got 4 carne asada tacos with extra cilantro and onion. I also got horchata to go with my food because the sweetness of the drink perfectly balanced out the salty spicy flavor of the tacos and salsa. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The meat were cooked nice and juicy. I loved that they had 4 different types of salsa for your tacos. 2 different types of salsa verde. One had more green Chile in it than the other. And 2 different kinds of salsa roja. The lighter red salsa is tangy and great flavor while the darker red one is spicy, a bit grainy, and not really much of a flavor to it just spice. The horchata had a perfect balance of sweetness. Not too bland or too sweet. The next time I'm craving some tacos I'm definitely coming here again. read more
