I visited the food truck located on Hampden after hearing good things about the food. I have to say, the food was delicious and definitely the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, the customer service was disappointing. We were told our total was $32, but when I paid with a card, the final charge came to $34.93. When I asked why the amount was different, I was told it was because I paid with a card. I understand that taxes and fees may apply, but customers should be told the full amount before being charged. What bothered me the most was the attitude. When I politely asked for clarification, the person cooking responded in a rude and arrogant way, saying, "You know that in the United States you have to pay sales tax." I wasn't questioning whether sales tax exists, I was simply asking why the amount I was quoted was different from the amount I was charged. I also noticed that my receipt showed a Denver sales tax rate of 9.15%, even though the food truck was located in Aurora on Hampden, which added to the confusion. The food is excellent, but the customer service and lack of clear communication left a negative impression. I would return for the food, but I hope they work on treating customers with more respect and explaining charges more clearly. read more

I really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. The best part of the tacos was the carnitas. I've never had carnitas that are this juicy and not at all dry. The salsa complemented each bite of the tacos and the radishes and cucumber added a nice garnish to cleanse the palette. The service was good, quick and nothing to complain about. The restaurant was clean, ready for the holidays and welcoming as soon as we walked in. While the location is not in the best part of town or even area, the food does make up for all the other factors. Definitely 10/10 recommended and will return if given the opportunity ;) read more

Been here 4 times this year. Little hole in the wall in an unfortunately sketchy older strip mall off Peoria / Mississippi. Doesn't look very promising until you open the door. The small dining area is clean, neat and brightly decorated without the kitchy strings of plastic jalapeno lights, serapes, and touristy sombreros one often encounters in Mexican restaurants. The waitstaff are friendly and helpful. I have been there three times for breakfast/brunch for the chilaquiles and fresh orange juice: I watched the lady run the orange halves through the juicer myself. Fantastic breakfast and fairly priced. This afternoon went for supper and had the carne asada fajitas. The obligatory chips and salsa were first rate. The salsa is made in house; was nice and thick and had a nice smoky flavor. I ate all of it. The fajitas were heaped up on the usual fajita skillet with a quite generous amount of steak cut in narrow thin strips, very tender and flavorful. The pepper slices were also thin and numerous. Best fajitas I can remember in Aurora/Denver in the 25 years I've lived here. No iced tea so I had a Mexican coke in the obligatory medio litre bottle. No room for dessert. I left fat, sassy, and sated. This is my new favorite Mexican place along with Piramides on Havana. read more

Friendly and prompt service, the dining area and the bathroom were spotless. Waiter was kind to my children and their special orders. The complex this restaurant is in has seen much better days. Right now the parking lot is a poorly marked mess, literally as trash was blowing around what felt like a mostly abandoned strip mall. Not terribly inviting, but the business has little control of that, I imagine. (I didn't base any of my rating on that, just adding for a full picture.) Kids and I got tacos a la carte: pastor, carnitas, asada, and barbacoa. They do give pretty big tacos for "street" style, which was nice. Nothing great, nothing terrible about any of it. Side of beans and rice was also just OK. Kids ate their meals without complaint, so score there, and they gave warmed chips with the salsa. The salsa itself was also just OK. We like to eat local, so when we were in the area and craving tacos, we started looking up local places! We loved this place so much we went for dinner and back for breakfast! Enchiladas- hubs got cheese enchiladas rice and beans. The sauce is flavorful and delicious. I'm a rice snob and theirs is excellent Tacos - chorizo/egg (breakfast), pastor, chorizo, and shredded beef were outstanding! No grease or gristle and their various salsas were tasty too! BTW I love when they also give you radishes, cucumbers, and fresh lime as they cut the heaviness. My favorite was the bean and cheese pupusa! My server I believe was named Jocelyn, who was the only server there this past Tuesday. She brought me salsa and chips, to which some chips didn't feel like they were cooked through, and my salsa was very watery as opposed to other customers salsa was chunkier and not watery. I asked Jocelyn some questions about the food, one I asked was about any other salsa they have that may have Pueblo or New Mexico Hatch chilies in them, to which in a somewhat confused yet snide tone she replied she's never heard of those.
