If you ask me where to find a happy hour that actually feels like a happy hour, I have an answer ready immediately: Cochino Taco in Englewood. I think we're all a little tired of places calling something a happy hour and then charging almost full price. Not here. The happy hour deals are legitimately good, which is one of the reasons I keep coming back. The crunchy tacos are one of my favorite things on the menu and getting two for $5 feels almost unheard of these days. Pair that with a margarita and you're set. The Doritos nachos are another favorite. I know how that sounds, but trust me. Order them. The chips and queso, pastor tacos, and asada tacos are all solid too. And if they have the coconut frozen margarita, get it. Add pineapple and suddenly you're mentally on vacation. I've been here for happy hour, brunch, and dinner, and I've always left happy. That's about the best compliment I can give a place. read more

We were looking for a place for lunch after an appointment and specifically tacos. Stopped here restaurant is clean and kind of eclectic and has a nice atmosphere. We got the fish tacos and I got the crunchy tacos, shaggy style. They have happy hour starting at 11 and I had a house margarita. Drink and beer and wine menu is more than adequate, service seemed to tad slow for that time of day, but wasn't really anything to complain about. It's a nice place and we'd go again. read more

Mexican-themed restaurant/bar that isn't necessarily the most authentic. Probably wouldn't come back. I was in the area and decided to stop by for a quick lunch. They have an AWESOME happy hour menu from 11-6 every day and drinks are decently priced, which is the best thing they got going for them, IMO. I sat at the bar and got the soft chicken tacos. I'm a huge fan of Mexican food and these were mid at best and closer to something from Taco Bell than something you'd get from a taco truck. The bartenders and servers weren't necessarily attentive or engaging, even though there were only three of us sitting at the bar. From what I saw, the drinks being made for the guests in the dining room at least looked decent. If the bartenders were a bit more attentive, next time I would've just came in for some drinks, but my experience sitting at the bar kind of killed that desire for me. read more

We were both craving some Mexican food but wanted to stay in our neighborhood. We had passed this place earlier in the day and decided to come back and check it out. It was full and lively with people eating out on the patio and we joined them. Our server was a comical character and he cracked jokes with us the entire time we were there so it was a lighthearted and jovial experience. We perused the menu and decided upon the Cochino Eloté for an appetizer. Oh my this dish basically stole the show for us. We could not stop eating it. So flavorful and the corn tasted super fresh. Next came our main course. I selected the Taco De Pescado which was a Grilled Mahi Taco and my man chose the Al Pastor Taco. Both were very tasty. the Taco De Pescado had the fresno sauce which had a huge kick and was very spicy. I love spicy but Yowsa I had to take a break in between bites. We both enjoyed some refreshing cocktails which were the frozen mango margarita and some type of libation called a Donkey ???Unfortunately, their cocktails are not listed the online menu but it was a strong drink with ginger beer and tequila. Parking is limited and the lot fills up fast so come a little early. Prices were fair overall. read more

This establishment has it figured out. High quality, great service, good pricing (especially during Happy Hour). I have sampled many different items on their menu, all good. Nice choice/variety of tacos. Nice people work here. Cool bar vibe. Leave the Christmas light up all year around. They look awesome. Excellent price/value relationship read more

Holy crap I was not expecting this, but I do believe I have found the absolute best burger in the Denver Metro area. They only offer one and I strongly suggest coming to try it. The quality of the meat is amazing. It is a sloppy juicy mess of queso and beef, juices and onions and chilies, and it is the perfect chaos that everyone needs in their life. my buddy Ryan could only sit and drool because his hands are too small to hold this massive gooey delightful treat! read more

Now I love Mexican food but this spot has changed over the past few years that I have eaten there. So I order the street corn and two fried Chicken tender tacos. I get my order and my street corn is drowning in crushed hot Cheetos. I know it's not crushed hot Cheetos but the seasoning looks like it and tastes like it - overpowering the taste and flavor of the corn and really salty. So I share with my waitress it's just too much and can I try something else? And so kind, she says yes and I order the queso. Queso comes out and the same thing - it's drowning and covered with the crushed Tajín Clásico Seasoning! I couldn't eat it. My chicken tacos come out and I try and pick them up - my tortillas are soaked from the slaw topping juice and they just tear as I bite into it. . So I just ask for additional flour tortillas to wrap them again and to eat them. It was messy. If you want to get a parking spot you can' forget that park on the street because there is not a lot of parking on the restaurant property. And yes, a Friday night it was busy but you don't have to wait too long. I think I might stick to my chicken quesabrillas from the taco truck. read more

Quick, cute and tasty! I had the crispy chicken salad and I pretty much licked the bowl it was so good. The tacos are filled to the brim with toppings. We sat in the bar for a 2 hour lunch and had a great time. read more

Meh. Since the last time being here, the food has really gone downhill. Ordered the queso with chorizo and it was blah. Pretty sure they used beyond meat instead of chorizo because the meat was crunchy. For my entree, I ordered the veggie burrito. This used to have several veggies, now it comes with mainly corn and a little bit of radish. It claims to have squash, but that was not in my burrito. I felt like I was eating corn on the cob with a tortilla. Service was descent, although we did have to track our server down to grab our check after waiting about 10 mins. As with most places, the prices have gone up. My part of the check totaled $41- for 1/2 queso, "veggie" burrito, and two drinks. Still a great location and patio when the weather is nice, but the food quality has left a bad taste in my mouth- literally- so it will be a while, if ever, I return. read more

We frequent Cochino Taco's for their great food and drinks. I have not found a single thing I haven't liked. We love their green chilli tots, their chips, the al pastor, funky chicken, carne asada, beef tacos... all of it really. Also, Joel and Steven are amazing people!! read more

This cute Mexican spot in Englewood is a gem! The service is consistently great, and the atmosphere is cozy. Parking is limited, but we've always managed to find street parking nearby. The heated patio is a nice touch, though I'd recommend avoiding tables too close to the heaters--they get uncomfortably warm, and it can be hard to hear your tablemates. We started with the Doritos nachos, a delicious and creative combo. For tacos, we tried the lengua (a bit salty for my taste), the battered shrimp taco (my favorite), and the rajas taco (spicy but full of flavor). All were generously loaded, though the fillings did make the shells fall apart. Their house margaritas were a great pairing! Definitely worth a visit. read more

Stopped by here for lunch while out apartment hunting. Our waiter was friendly and prompt. The food is delicious! We had the Queso Dip with chorizo that came with seasoned tortilla chips. My only complaint is that I wish it was a larger portion. The Cochino Elote was so good with just the perfect amount of cheese and the fresh lime is the perfect touch. I tried the Al Pastor, Cotija Cheese Skirt and Taco De Pescado. My favorites were the Al Pastoe and the Cotija. The fish taco was tasty but it had entirely too much of the spicy Fresno sauce which just overpowered the entire dish and made it borderline inedible. I wish I would've had time to try one of their desserts or numerous cocktail options but I had to get to work. I hope to be back soon! read more

Great food. Great patio. Fun servers. Frozen Margaritass are delightful. Try the Queso and Tostada Tuesdsy.

Chips and salsa were delicious! They have 3 different types of salsa, the chips are covered in what taste like chili powder and lime! They do have entrees you can veganize, we had a veggie burrito, avocado tostada, and a mushroom taco! The drinks were pretty bomb too! read more

Saw this little restaurant this afternoon and there were quite a lot of people in there. So I checked with YELP and it got a lot of good reviews, so I decided to try it. I am very glad I did. It was quite busy at 2:00 in the afternoon, but I was waited on very quickly. The waitress was extremely helpful and they gave HH From 11 in the Morning ;~} I ordered The HH Tacos, 2a Side of beans $3 (very small) and a Frozen Margarita, The food was Delicious with lots of Chicken on the 2 Tacos. I also Loved the Frozen Margarita I will definitely go back. I was quite full after eating and drinking. read more

I got the carne asada tacos and they were really good! The service wasn't the best, which is why I gave it four stars, but we did go during March Madness so it was pretty busy. The queso had a good flavor, just a little on the runny side. Overall, it's a great atmosphere, and they have really good happy hour margaritas! read more

I had luck here today with my husband and our 2 year old and I was impressed by how kid friendly they are. In addition to the requisite high chair, our waiter brought our a cute lidded kids cup and coloring supplies with our menus. Before my son was born I had no idea how much that kind of thing is appreciated and what a difference it makes in the parent's/caregiver's dining experience. The restaurant is very clean and the decor is fun. It has a very open and bright feel. As the weather was beautiful, we sat on their spacious patio. They have an excellent all day food and drinks happy hour...sadly it's a work day so no drinks...the food was tasty though, especially the burger with poblanos and cheese. The tater tots were a cut above average too- yum! read more

We have been coming to Cochino for years now for the great Margs and Shaggy Tacos. Incredible every time. There is a reason we frequent! Good service too. read more

Amazing Happy Hour - favorite place for a margarita and a taco. Margs are strong and all the tacos are great. Get the Campechano if you like it hot, shaggy style (thank me later). IMO one of the best burgers in the city. Service is always attentive and food comes out quick. read more

Fantastic tacos and margaritas! queso is a must have. Servers are helpful and friendly. Highly recommend!

Totally Dig Cochino Taco... Great Food and Margs. Love making the tacos "Shaggy" Style. Johnny and his team are the Best!! They have an awesome, long Happy Hour. read more

the margaritas are fabulous however the ambiance is basically a chucky cheese and there are constantly children running around wreaking havoc, getting in the way of the staff, and disturbing well paying customers. It's unfortunate they don't have a policy against badly behaved children. the dogs have more rules than the children. Also normally the music here is great, however the last 2 weeks it has been mostly bluegrass and other genres that have no buisness in a hip mexican restaurant. Margs 5 stars, ambiance needs improvement, for the money it costs to eat and drink here. read more

Brought my family here from AZ. I'm sorry but very disappointing. Everyone had overly juicy tacos (soggy). Service was good, drinks were good but food was terrible for taco standards. read more

This is our answer for dinner when we don't want to cook and want a good meal. Happy Hour is a great deal. Get those tacos shaggy style (with beans and queso)! I also love their mas macho burrito as a bowl...and when our waiter suggested extra crispy carnitas, it made it even better! The service is great. The frozen paloma and the Hey Zeus beer are my favorite drink options. The outdoor patio is great for pups as well! We've taken a number of our foster pups there for socialization and everyone is always so kind! read more

We've been coming here since they opened. We've ridden the ups and downs. Well the food tonight was excellent. The service the past two visits was dismal. Same waitress. Glasses, cute, and deer in headlights. 50 minutes to get 2 tacos , appetizer never came. They can do better. We'll keep coming but cute waitress w/glasses could use a little direction. read more

I don't know how you can't love a place that serves Dorito nachos. Come here! Their happy hour is from 11-6. How is that anything less than awesome!! Get their Hell Jimmy spicy margarita... you're welcome. read more

My husband came here the other day and said it was horrible as well. He got the carne asada burrito and when he opened it up it had maybe 4 pieces of meat in it. Margaritas!!! Pineapple margarita!! Amazing. Prices were reasonable. Service was good.

We finally managed to stop in here for lunch on a Saturday around 2pm. Service was very fast and attentive, however, we were disappointed elsewhere. It was awesome that happy hour exists pretty much all day long so we got 2 margaritas ($5 each) and the chips and queso ($6)z The margaritas were painfully strong, and we both enjoy tequila, but it was honestly like taking a shot every sip. The queso and chips were our favorite part. We then ordered the carnitas, Al pastor, get in my belly, and Barbacoa tacos. They came out in less than 5 minutes from ordering them and unfortunately it was evident that they weren't super fresh. My tortilla on both tacos was chewy and the meat was fine, but nowhere close to Uno Mas or Adelitas where we frequent often. All around, just rather disappointing, and probably not somewhere we will return. read more

Really cute spot with great food! There were little pigs for decor throughout the restaurant which I loved! We stopped here around 1:30 on a Sunday, so we had brunch and regular options as brunch goes on until 2. They had awesome happy hour and brunch deals. Our server was attentive, and everything we ordered came out quickly and tasted good. This is a smaller place, and the parking lot is small as well (this spot was a former gas station) so keep that in mind when heading over! My only con is that the margarita here was super sour, even for being a fruit flavored one. I'd suggest modifying the mix a bit! read more

Not the same place..the second star is only because it used to be good..took the best marg off the menu..margs are not the same and neither is the food. Food was bitter like they added dish soap. Almost inedible. Queso was watered down. Pork belly, was a pork chop. Yuck. Shut er down. read more

Sat on patio with dog. Queso happy hour chips were alright. I like the seasoning on the chips. Queso was very liquidy tho. The chorizo burrito was okay. Not as good as I remember. Server wasn't very friendly, didn't even look us in the eyes when talking to us. Overall just ok. read more

I've been twice now with friends. Once at a table & once at the bar & had a great time both times. Enjoyed the staff (waitstaff & bar tenders), felt we had great service and food & drinks came in a timely manner. I'm can be a bit of a princess about cocktails & both times the bartender came up with a delicious jalapeño marg, not too sweet, no salt. And once I have a drink I love, princess fades into the crowd. My only complaint is that I never got a call that I won the Icelandic skis from the Arta Tequilla drawing. I guess it just wasn't my turn to win. Can't blame the staff fo Nice chill non pretentious atmosphere & crowd. I'll definitely keep going back. read more

I love how it's hard to miss happy hour around here! Daily from 11-6?! What?! Love that. We came in here for brunch on Sunday and I had the Huevos Rancheros which was quite tasty and hubs went with a carnitas and carbon taco as well as the green chile tots that were on HH. The tacos were pretty good but the tortillas needed to be cooked more. The tots were nice. I honestly didn't need the cheese on them- that green chile was good enough for me and a nice little kick! We also had to try the nachos of course- because it seemed such a novel idea to be served on Doritos. They were ok but way too salty. The doritos themselves are already so salty and then the meat, queso, etc. all had salt. That's saying a lot because I love salty things. The queso on those nachos was the best part. I'd rather have it on regular chips! I went with the Rose during brunch (on HH- $5.50) and Hubs had the Coin Marg (on HH- $6.50). Both were great and we'd order again! read more

We've been here quite a few times over the years, and it's always been meh but passable. The most recent time, though, the avocado tostado was covered in fresh ingredients that all tasted off (avocado mash, tomato, radish, jicama), the chips were over salted, the funky chicken taco had too much yellow mustard. Even my daughter didn't like her basic beef tacos off the kids' menu - she said the beef didn't taste good. Their staff wear shirts with bad yelp reviews proudly printed on them, which is an odd choice. I guess they've got more shirts to print with this review. read more
