Busy and smells yummy! Can't wait for our food!
Eden R.

The food at Taco Unico is delicious. Very authentic. The barria tacos were amazing. The smothered fries were tasty as well. The giant margs were pricey but yummy.

Loved that we could stop by one of our "go to" Mexican food places near the climbing gym. We were hopefully that there would be enough space / open tables with the limited capacity. Thankfully, we snagged the last table. Yay. Ordered my normal enchilada Verdes. My partner had street tacos. House margaritas, chips and their fabulous green and red salsa made for a perfect meal. This is authentic Mexican food. Staff are always friendly and attentive. The interior decor is very simple and basic, meaning the food is the star here - as it should be. So glad to know they're pivoting amidst the pandemic and doing well. All the basic COVID precautions are in place, so please, stop by for either dine in or take out :)

Food is very tasty and customer services was on point. Love supporting Family ran restaurants

Stopped by this place on a whim and in dire need of a michelada. The food and service were great, but the menu didn't have prices. The total came as a surprise--pretty expensive.

Chicken Fajitas - Pollo

Best Fajitas in Colorado. Great lunch or dinner spot on Sheridan. The 3 things that make these fajitas so wonderful you ask?: -homemade flour tortillas -homemade refried beans -high quality chicken grilled to perfection I've eaten here multiple times and only ever ordered the fajitas. I'm gonna continue to dine here at Taco Unico and try some new dishes soon. Friendly staff, FAST service, and the pricing is unbeatable. I don't know how they create such high quality food and sell it very reasonably. I highly recommend you try Taco Unico. I almost forgot about the salsa! They bring out red and green salsa and they are incredible!!

The birria tacos are a must. So flavorful. Ceviche platter is amazing to share. A little pricey but good food and drink

10/10 service, I love coming here on my days off or even to pick up lunch for work. The service is amazing, staff is friendly & the owners come out to check on the customers when they can. Food is amazing, I've never had an issue with my order. The environment is so welcoming , the staff has always been well behaved even with the not friendliest customers. I definitely recommend coming here for any of your Mexican food needs!

Birria tacos with consommé

Low key joint on south Sheridan. Probably no more than 15 seats inside, most customers were eating big meals and drinking. Most conversation in Spanish. Stopped for some tacos and a margarita on a hot day. Very friendly service, huge marg, great tacos. The pickled red onions are, as far as I know, not standard to birria tacos and were a nice welcome bit of crunch and acidity. My only *very* slight complaint is that we weren't warned that happy hour started in two minutes so we paid for two margaritas when it would have been 2/1 two minutes later, but that's on me for not noticing (and that's all done on a computer anyways - no one's fault but my own). I give a strong endorsement for this place.

Best pancakes!!

Very delicious food! We were just trying to find someplace new, and this place did not disappoint! They even made me pancakes after breakfast hours!!

Glad to find this hidden gem in Lakewood! The waitress was super friendly, the food was delicious, and surprisingly affordable! Best Chicharrón burrito I've eaten in Colorado. Can't wait to go back!

Well, I hope they're ready for me because I'm about to be a new regular here! We just moved in about a block away and have been getting to know the neighborhood (aka finding which restaurants we love). We came here for lunch one day and had chile rellenos, chicken enchiladas and some margs and beers. Everything was delish! The gal that served us was also incredibly friendly and sweet. We talked to her about how we had just bought our house nearby and would be stopping in regularly because everything was so tasty. I don't eat meat other than fish, so it can be hard to find a place that doesn't just serve pork green chile with most entrees. But I was able to get the chile relleno plate with plain (no meat) green chile and it was so dang good! Also highly recommend the house marg. They put a really delicious chamoy and it just adds that *something extra*. It's perfection. Of all the choices for Mexican restaurants in the area, it can be hard to choose where to eat. But you won't be disappointed if you choose to give Taco Unico a try!!ashley

I told her I was making sure there was an outlet before I ordered anything and she responds, "there's one over there and over there for paying customers." I just got there. There's no reason for her to assume I intended to just sit there, but even if I was, is the disrespect and hostility warranted? Couldn't tell you how the drinks are because I left. Night Owl is great and the blonde bartender there has an incredible memory, very attentive, and has always been welcoming.

All that said, my first time at Strange was two weeks ago. I'd heard about this place for years from one of my friends, but never been. What a low-key, great place! The bartenders were chill. The prices were incredibly reasonable for craft, microbrew and a most excellent selection as you could want. The folks that seemed to be regulars were friendly... can see why my friend has been going there for so long, now! And, hello, shopping center parking in a quasi-industrial area that totally felt safe?! I'm definitely throwing this place back in the hat for another rotation here!

I am glad my friend recommended it and I look forward to going back. I got a mango sour beer and it was delightful with nice and not overwhelming taste. They also have festive beers like the gingerbread beer. The thing that makes this place stand out though is the people. Tyler was an awesome bartender and a great person to make conversation with. I would go back just for him.

The seating areas feel intentionally designed, cozy, and creative ~ and they rotate the layout every couple of months, which keeps things feeling fresh. When I stopped by, the main room was set up with comfy couches, lounge chairs, and bean-bag-style seating that practically invites you to settle in. I got so relaxed I ended up hanging out for several hours without even realizing it. It's the kind of place where time disappears in the best way.
