Wow what a wonderful lunch date. Hubby and I stopped in after a baseball tournament this weekend. We left full and happy from the food and drinks. Nicole was our server and she was so sweet. She made excellent drinks...even making simple syrup by hand rather than using a premade mix. The chips and salsa to start were very yummy. A super fresh tasting salsa with fresh made chips. My husband got the steak fajitas that came with fresh hand made tortillas. He declared them the best tortilla he's ever had in his life. The steak in the fajitas had an incredible char on it which really adds to the flavor. I got a cheese enchilada and a bean taco. I also ordered avocado and was surprised to see that I got nearly a whole half avocado freshly sliced instead of guacamole. Something about fresh sliced avocado just hits different. The sauce on the enchilada was a bit spicy (I'm kind of a sissy) but it was packed with the most amazing fresh made flavor I've ever tasted in an enchilada. This wasn't a jarred sauce. We sat outside on a lovely coveted patio which made the whole experience so much better. Nicole told us about some of the events coming up and we were so happy to have discovered this place. They have a vast drink menu, I definitely had trouble choosing just one drink. I encourage you to run, not walk to Chulas for lunch and experience some of the best most fresh tasting Mexican food you will ever taste. read more

Close to my home and it reminds of places where I grew up. Been going to Chula for quite a while, dining in and getting food to go. The staff is always friendly and pleasant. Stopped in for a drink at the Agave Challenge. Chula means cute and this place is definitely that! Our server was attentive and explained the ingredients of our cocktails well. My Cherry Chula Margarita was great. It was more sour than sweet (how I like it) and reminded me of a Sour Patch Kid. Chula touts fresh tortillas on their building, so after visiting my hometown in NM, I had to try them. They are pricey ($1.25 each) but definitely homemade. The flour tortillas came out piping hot. They had the right consistency. Close to what I am used to, but difficult to accomplish in our Mile-High elevation. They have a lot of BOGO specials and bottomless mimosas on Sundays. I will definitely return to try more of their food. read more

Good salsa fresh chips, buy one get one marg special is just an over sweet mix with bottom shelf tequila for $12. Tamales had basically nothing inside of them just straight masa. Enchiladas tasted like cat food, asked what kind of beans I wanted. Asked for charro, I found maybe 8 total beans, some cut up hot dog and some strange gelatinous chunks of pork fat I believe, $3 upcharge. Service was also sub par. 2 plates of slop, 2 bogo margs and an order of Birrias tacos for $110 after tip. Probably won't go back read more

We went here craving good Mexican food. We ended up pretty disappointed. The food was subpar and overpriced. $12 for queso?!? We ordered BOGO margaritas thinking we could each get one and get a good deal. Nope. We saw a charge for 2 bogos on our bill and learned that we had to each drink two?! I have never been told that anywhere before. The service was also just average or a bit below. Kind of sad and disappointing. Times are hard too, so being overcharged like this sucks. read more

We ate the food too fast and forgot to take a good pic. This place is so good! The queso blanco and homemade tortillas are 100% worth it. The inside is tastefully decorated and very comfy. The first time I came here I was not impressed and I think I left a negative review but I don't believe in giving a place just one shot. I came back today and had a completely different experience than that first time. Today I had the al a cart chili rellenos with the extra hot green chili. They were the best rellenos I have had in the metro area. I still feel cheated by having to pay for refills on chips and salsa, but I can get past that it will just lower my overall review of the place. Staff was neither great nor terrible but I'm not here to make friends I'm here for the food so I don't judge too much based on the staff. Would be 4 stars if the chip refills were free. Ordered a mexican hamburger thru grubhub from Chula On Broadway and it was so bad I wound up throwing it away. There were bits of burger (a very few) inside the tortilla - no hamburger patty - and the green chile had no flavor whatsoever, not even a little. We went here for a couple drinks after work ons. Thursday and learned they do BOGO house margaritas every day, all day. It is per person, but $20 for 4 margaritas is a steal! They were also good and pretty strong. We also got two orders of the chile cheese fries which were also only $5 because we were there for happy hour. These were very tasty! For $30 we drank and ate! We didn't order entrees, but looking over the menu I will say the prices seemed a bit pricey, especially compared to the happy hour and BOGO deal. read more

My absolute favorite thing about Chula was the warm vibe all the servers had with each other-- I'm not sure who was related to who, but we came here around Halloween and they all were dressed up and so sweet with each other-- it was pretty heartwarming. They were also all very sweet and helpful with us! Now, on to the food... it was really good, it came out quick, and the portions were fairly large (keep that in mind if you don't want to waste food or take some home). We didn't get drinks while we were there, but it looked like they have 2 for 1 margs all day every day, so that's definitely worth checking out too. read more

Had Nicolle as my server today and at first got my drink and chips right away. After that I never saw anyone until my food came out 45 minutes later. My beer was empty for over 25 minutes without anyone checking to see if I needed another then my sandwich came out and the bread was rock hard like it was sitting under a heat lamp for too long. The fries were undercooked and I literally had to break them apart as they were all connected together in the fryer. We each ordered two SINGLE tall WELL vodka and waters. THE PRICE WAS $52?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? $13 A PIECE FOR A SINGLE WELL SHOT? I spoke with our server who happened to be the adult son of the owner, letting him know we have raved about this place to our friends but no way would they pay that, he stated he would talk to his mother about it. Unexpected Gem. My spouse and I had come into town to do some shopping at a place I had a gift certificate for. We decided to stop for an early lunch and chose Chula's because of the "Fresh Tortillas" banner in the window. I am so glad we stopped. Everything was delicious! From the chips and fresh salsa, to the homemade and delectable tortillas. This place is top notch. I had the fish tacos, which were yummy and fresh with a side of beans and rice and a dollop of guacamole. My spouse got a beef taco and burrito combo and was impressed with the amount of beef in the burrito and the flavor of both. I had no idea that the Bloody Maria I ordered was BOGO until the server came to let me know. I got my second one to go, along with my left-over tacos, I am set for the evening. Next time I am in the area, I will be sure to stop for some of the best and freshest Mexican food around. read more

As a never ending quest for good Mexican Food, Chula On Broadway was a decent stop. The sopes were made fresh, and the chorizo was some of the better that I've had. The flour tortillas were too thick for my liking, lacking a bit of flavor and dry. The Servers were nice. The dining room is nice, but seems unfinished. Overall, a good experience. read more

After receiving a glowing recommendation, tried out Chula on a Thursday night at 5:45 PM. Took a few minutes for the server to come over - she was very personable and got our waters to the three of us. Chips and salsa were fresh and good, very promising. Server took our orders - shredded beef chimichanga for me, chicken fajitas for my wife, asking if we wanted refried or pinto beans with our platters. Our friend tried the chicken mole and was asked if she wanted white or red rice. Wife and I ordered pinto beans and our friend ordered red rice. Food arrived with refried beans for us and white rice for our friend. Server walked away without saying anything. When, after a few minutes, she checked in with us, we pointed out the mistakes. She offered to get a side of pintos for us but neither of us needed the change, it was more that there was a breakdown in communication. They make their own fresh tortillas, usually a good thing, but ours were overcooked such that when my wife folded some of her fajitas in them they cracked and split. Chimichanga had good shredded beef and good guac. The wife's fajitas were plentiful, sizzling and tasted fine if a bit on the dry side. The mole was very good. Took a long time to get the check and even longer for the server to pick up the credit cards to pay. Will give them a second chance at some point but there are clearly some issues that left us feeling pretty non-plussed. read more

This is our favorite place for Mexican food. The staff is friendly and attentive and the owner makes an effort to connect with as many guests as possible. My personal favorites are any of the Tinga dishes and the Birria Tacos. Their BOGO margaritas are also delicious and inexpensive. They have a nice-sized bar with lots of additional table and booth seating. It's clean and tastefully decorated with an outside area for dining as well. read more

Called in a breakfast order on Sunday for 2 breakfasts to go. Was told 10 minutes. Showed up 10 minutes later, paid, and was told it would be out in 2 minutes. 4 minutes later another waitress said it would be out in 2 minutes. Meanwhile I realize the restaurant has 3 tables of folks and all have their food. I also realized all the staff are in the kitchen laughing loudly and having a sort of party. That was when it occurred to me my order was never put in. I had somewhere to be, hence calling in the order. I waited 27 minutes total, and since I paid beforehand I had to wait instead of walk out AND I tipped 20% on lousy service. Never, ever again. read more

Hubby was craving Mexican food and this was close by with good reviews. He had the chicken fajitas and I had the Veggie Tacos. Both came with rice and beans. Rice was light and fluffy. Beans were a thin watery layer on the plate which is the reason for the 4 stars. Our waiter was attentive and checked with us several times, refilling our chips and salsa. They do not try to impress the crowd into the latest fads by slipping strange things into your food and watching your face to see if you like it. Our waitress never stopped to check on us, offer an update, or apologies. After an 1.5 hours on site, we left. We tried to pay for our drinks, but were told we didn't have to pay by the bartender. "Going Viral" isn't a good thing if you can't handle the business! Regular customers get treated poorly. New customers are given a bad impression....
