I have been here several times over the course of the last 5 years. Food is always very good. We had a large party and they did a good job to accommodate us. The restaurant is always very busy, so get here early! The staff was friendly and we are happy we decided to have our get together here. The fancy Italian salad, was nothing special, the kind of lettuce that no one likes, 4/10. I had the crab-cake slider which had a fishy taste, for $8 I wouldn't order it again 5/10. The arancini was pretty good, I wouldn't say that I loved the tomato sauce but the arancini themselves were cooked and seasoned well 7/10. The green chile ravioli was a nice dish, good flavor and excellent sauce 8/10. Both large 16" pizzas were very good 7.5/10. The tiramisu dessert was a highlight, it was the best thing we had, great flavor and nice portion 9.5/10. We look forward to coming back again in the future. Great spot for pizza. read more

Decided to come in for the late night happy hour which begins at 9 PM. The ambience is more like a bar when walking in, but they do have a dining room to the left-hand side. We came in for their half dozen oysters, which are only about $1.25 per oyster at night. It was a pretty good deal and I also loved the toppings and sauces that it came with. I felt like these were very fresh. However, I did feel like they could be cleaned a little bit better. The Caesar salad had a great garlic taste, and I would get it over and over again The baked oyster was OK not my favorite The balsamic glazed ribs were a hit at the table and fell off the bone. I would absolutely get these again with such great flavor. Overall, I would come whether it be happy hour or not to try there more extensive menu especially some of the pizzas that we saw come out. read more

Pretty good! Honestly the best part of this place was the tea happening at the table next to us. The food wasn't super memorable, though it has a story tied to it. I had such a great dinner at Angelo's Taverna and I'm already planning my next visit. We started with the Mushroom Agnolotti, and it was absolutely delicious, earthy, creamy, and packed with flavor. Angelo's has been one of my favorite happy hours for the last few years! I especially love sitting on the patio during a summer night. When I go, I usually get a plate of oysters for the table, the burrata, the sliders, the Caesar salad and the flatbread pizza! Took the wife here tonight apart of our valentines bonanza weekend. Food was good ,vibes were great . The wife got the squash ravioli bacon something something which was surprisingly the highlight meal of the night . I got the lobster Nocchi it was a 6.8 at best and we got the mussels and fried ravioli . To drink I had a lemonade pick a dilly or whatever the hell it's called .Had me tow back and it was like 3 ozs of this stuff , my right nipple was going wild! I haven't been to Angelo's in a few years and it's still just as good as I remember. We got the vodka penne, butternut squash ravioli, and a pepperoni pizza. Nothing I'd consider artisan or creative. Service was friendly but a bit slow. The decor was what you'd expect at a chain restaurant as well so not much to say about that. I guess at the price point, I was expecting more from the sauces and quality. Sadly all the sauces were bland and tasted rushed. The bread tasted like it was made at a Safeway bakery. Luckily for the burrata, the fresh mozzarella was creamy and delicious as were the pesto and glaze that came with it. In my opinion, everything just missed the mark. The host first tried to seat us in the detached banquet room, which felt clunky to get to and wasn't a very inviting spot, so we opted for the bar instead. Be careful when choosing a bar seat, though--if you're too close to the kitchen, it gets really hot! My bestie and I were eyeing the lasagna, so we split that and a pizza. Unfortunately, both were buried under so much cheese and so soggy that they were pretty unenjoyable. Angelos Taverna is a beautiful spot with fantastic potential. The ambiance is one of its biggest strengths--the dim lighting and fancy decor create a genuinely great atmosphere perfect for a date night or celebratory dinner. Furthermore, our server was exceptionally kind and attentive, contributing greatly to the positive front-of-house experience. The positive notes continued through our appetizers, which were generally excellent. However, one key starter was a letdown: the bruschetta. Instead of the expected crusty bread, it arrived on a soft, somewhat soggy base, which diminished the texture and taste. Unfortunately, the main courses were where the experience truly declined. I ordered the goat pasta, which was described as being mixed with goat cheese. As the photo shows, the dish arrived with only a few small crumbles sprinkled on top, which I had to request more of. Even after fixing the cheese issue, the pasta itself was the biggest disappointment--it was drastically undercooked, chewy, and in some parts, almost hard. For a restaurant focused on Italian fare, undercooked pasta is a major misstep. While the service and atmosphere merit a higher rating, the poor execution of both the bruschetta and the main pasta entree made it feel like the kitchen staff was rushing or not focused on quality control. This unevenness makes it difficult to recommend Angelos for a full meal right now. I hope the kitchen can match the high standards set by the dining room and the rest of the staff. read more

Started with 6 lovely east coast oysters to go with my Bierstadt Pilsner and her lemoncello martini, which she enjoyed enormously. Manager brought us two different grilled oysters after hearing we hadn't returned in over 20 years. I was partial to the Parmesan cream but my wife loved the chipotle barbecue. We've developed the habit of sharing dishes as our appetites have shrunk with age. We split a roasted beet salad, French onion soup, and the chili relleno ravioli. I found the ravioli to be inventive and delicious with yellow corn and blue corn pastas. Celebrating our anniversary we splurged for the cannoli on a bed of chocolate and caramel. You won't find a better staff or service. Angelo's hardly needs my endorsement after 40 years in business, but you'll find the experience absolutely fabulous. read more

We stopped by Angelo's for dinner because of the rave reviews and it did not disappoint! First off, I love how lively the ambiance here is. When I think of Italian restaurants, I usually think of a more quiet setting whereas Angelo's has TV's with sports games playing all around the restaurant. It definitely feels like a fusion between a restaurant and a sports bar. The food however, is way better than a sports bar. My husband and I ordered the vodka penne with chicken and the bison ravioli with half marinara and half Alfredo sauce. From the two, the vodka penne was the standout--it was SO delicious. The sauce on it was spectacular and I found myself eating the leftover sauce by itself after we ate all the pasta. The bison ravioli was good but not mind blowing, however, bison ravioli sounded unique to us so it gets positive points for that. The marinara and Alfredo sauce that coated it was also good, but nothing special. Service here is super friendly and they also have a parking lot in the back. read more

Angelo's Taverna was great! On weekdays, until 3pm, they offer lunch specials, which are a pretty good deal! I got a sandwich and a salad for a pretty good price. The lunch pizzas come with a salad, but you can also order pizzas (or other dishes) off the regular menu as well. We all got our own dishes, but were able to taste a little bit of everything because of how big the portions were. There is a small parking lot in the back of the restaurant, but it was quite full when we went, so be prepared to spend some time looking for parking. Our server was very nice and was patient with us as we were still deciding what we wanted. The restaurant itself seemed a little small inside, but the seating was split up on different sides of the bar, so maybe one side is just smaller than the other. read more

The pizza was flavorful as well, though it came loaded with toppings, arguably a bit too much. It reminded me more of a Chicago-style deep dish, quite heavy overall, so a thinner Margherita option would have been nice. Despite that, it was still enjoyable. I can't believe I wanted to write this review about one of my favorite places but I have to say something in hopes that they may improve. We arrived for a very late lunch on Saturday, maybe 2:45, we were seated in the new room off the patio. I ordered my favorite Pasta Bolognes. Well ​This "Bolognese" comes out the color of carrot soup on a fluorescent-lit Tuesday--a bright, almost artificial orange that suggests tomatoes once lived here, but have long since been replaced by something far more mysterious. It's the kind of hue you'd expect from Chef Boyardee himself: cheerfully unnatural, unapologetically canned, and glowing with a soft radioactive optimism. No as for the texture, oh my... Soft. Very soft. Almost too soft. The sauce has the smooth, uniform consistency of a purée that has never met a chunk it didn't immediately defeat. Any "meat" present has been reduced to tiny, ambiguous flecks--more of a suggestion than an ingredient. It clings to the pasta like a warm hug from a distant relative you don't quite remember. After several minutes of devouring the well cooked pasta I did to my surprise discover a bit of meat that would cover a nickel. The taste, well it's Luke this, Sweet, tangy, and unmistakably processed. Imagine a whisper of ground beef surrounded by tomato sweetness, softened vegetables, and that unique signature flavor of "I came from a can." The dish carries a comforting nostalgia--the kind that reminds you of microwave dinners, childhood afternoons, and knowing deep down that true Italian chefs would weep if they saw it. It's not authentic. It's not rustic. But it's absolutely Chef Boyardee: soft, orange, nearly meatless, Just as we were about to dsh off to an appointment I over heard the table next to ours ordering a side of sausage to go with his Pasta Bolognase he had just ordered. The waitress said to the patron, sir the Bolognase is a heart meat sauce. I nodded to the table and uttered I would get those sausages and a side of meat balls as well. We love that they offer gluten-free pasta and pizza and their oyster and muscles. Today I had the Italian White Bean Soup and my partner had the Meatball and Sausage Sliders (not GF) along with the Chargrilled Oyster Special (Chipotle Bourbon Butter, Bacon and Gorgonzola, Chorizo & Chili & Original). We also love that Angelo's is located in a neighborhood which feels like a cozy old Italian vibe mixed with a sports bar feel (this restaurant was built in the 70s).
