    Mushroom Pasta
    Andrew L.

We made it here for restaurant week. This had been on our list of Italian spots to try for a while. I am very happy that we decided to make it. We had a reservation but the restaurant was not busy on a Wednesday evening. We started off with their happy hour menu, which was a great deal. The cheese pizza we added pepperoni, and found the pizza to be a little undercooked and doughy but still alright 6/10. We tried the house meatball which was pretty straight forward with polenta and ricotta 7/10. We also had the crispy Brussel sports, which were fine 7.5/10. They had a 3 item tasting menu and u had the arugula salad which was alright, Parmesan crisps were good and the orange dressing was alright 6/10. For my entree I had the short rib which was cooked well and I was happy with 7.5/10. My girlfriend had the chicken parm, which was very good 9/10. Another highlight was the wild mushroom fusilli pasta 10/10. For our dessert we had the butterscotch bread pudding which is a must get, 10/10. The server was friendly. The food took a little while to come out of the kitchen. I would love to come back and explore more of the menu. It was a little challenging to find street parking but that is downtown Denver for you. They charge a 22% fee on every bill which I don't care for, a tip should be earned, not expected.

Enjoyable Italian dinner on the patio with coworkers! Our waiter Josh was kind, attentive, well knowledgeable about the wine list and menu & we all enjoyed his service. We had a mix of cocktails and alcohol free spirits which was enjoyed by all. I enjoyed my refreshing Little Rickey which is a cucumber lavender lemonade & the short rib with potato gnocchi.

We had a large group reservation at Osteria Marco, and the staff took great care of us. We enjoyed the platter with various cheese, crackers, meat. Burrata was delicious. For entree, I had one of their most popular pastas - the wild mushroom fusilli. The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the mushroom sauce was creamy and flavorful. Conveniently located in Larimer Square.

We had a group of 14 come in for dinner and ordered many dishes which I tried many of: Cocktails - 3/5: I had a whiskey sour and old fashioned. I think they used demerara in both which gave a carmel flavor that I didn't appreciate. Burrata - 4/5: The fresh mozzarella texture was more like a whipped cream cheese than an oozing cream that I had expected but still delicious when paired with the excellent bread. Calamari - 3/5: The plate we got was all rings and no tentacles. Breading was a little heavy and not as crispy as I would have wanted. Salad - 4/5: We tried the caesar, arugula, pear and beet salads. I enjoyed all of them *Pork* Osso Bucco - 1/5: A huge disappointment. Firstly, it isn't a tender crosscut of veal shank but rather a pork shank. I like pork shanks but this one which was was tough, dry, and stringy. The sauce was overly sweet sweet. On the bright side the creamy risoto and broccolini were well executed. My father ordered the same dish and his was the same. Buccatini Carbonara - 3/5: It was okay but didn't taste authentic to me. The color was too light so I think they used heavy cream instead of only egg yolks and parmesan cheese. Chicken Parm - 4/5: This dish is massive! The chicken was fairly moist, breading was crispy, red sauce tasted fresh, and there was plenty of cheese. Tiramisu - 4/5: Solid but I would have liked a higher ratio of lady fingers to cream. The server did a wonderful job of handling our large group so no complaints with the service. The ambiance was casual and laid back. Parking is valet only which is $15 with validation.

    Arugula salad with salmon

Like most restaurants in downtown Denver, the food is unmemorable. I came here for a lunch with co-workers and it was busier than I expected for a basement in Larimer Square. We made a reservation as we had a larger group, but probably fine to walk in without one for a smaller group on a weekday. Service was attentive and friendly but a bit slow. Portion sizes were huge, especially the sandwiches. I opted for an arugula salad with salmon, the salad itself was fresh though a bit overdressed, but the salmon I added on was overcooked and flavorless. I would recommend adding some sort of carb to this meal if you get a salad because I was hungry immediately after this meal. Overall an ok lunch spot if someone else is paying, the location is its biggest pro.

Food = 5, Service =3 Osteria Marco is located on larimer street downtown and they have outside and inside seating. We made a reservation which was great because we did not have to wait to be seated. The vibes and atmosphere were very vibrant which was really fun for a date night. When our food arrived, we were very pleased. The lobster pasta was very good but the wild mushroom dish was absolutely amazing!! As far as service, we were disappointed that the hostess didn't really acknowledge us when we arrived and never even made eye contact. However she was very fun and charismatic with her colleague who was talking to her. Also, with a 22% Creating Happy People fee for all orders, I would have expected a more prompt service experience at the table. We sat for while with empty glasses and it took awhile to take our orders each time.

We sat outside, so cute. Service was excellent (Josh and Terry). Wine list was on point, I love a wine list that divides the wines by region. I got wild mushroom fusilli, it was amazing. We also got the ricotta and grilled bread appetizer, it was so good.

We stumbled on this place while hopping around Larimer one afternoon and finally came back! The pasta was absolutely delicious. I knew what I wanted to eat before coming. We shad a ton of food. I got the lobster pasta and my guy ordered off of the restaurant week menu. He ordered the Caesar salad, mushroom pasta (my favorite), and eggplant parmesan. A few cocktails and some lemon cello to tie it all together. We had a corner table that was nice and cozy.

We wanted a good dinner in a lively atmosphere. This place delivered. We ordered the burrata. It's not my favorite dish but even I was converted with this one. Just fabulously rich and dreamy. The mushroom fusilli and the bolognese were also pasta standouts. We all agreed these were terrific. And the butterscotch bread pudding was fantastic for dessert. Service was friendly and responsive and the underground room was surprisingly cozy. A winner.

One of my Colorado friends recommended checking out this Italian restaurant while we were visiting Denver, and I'm so glad that we did! The restaurant is nestled in the heart of Larimer Square, a very popular outdoor square filled with restaurants and shops with rows of Colorado flags hung up with lights above the space -- definitely recommend this location (especially if you want some cute photos) if you're in town visiting! As for the restaurant itself, we chose indoor seating for our big group of 10, and the inside eating area is actually downstairs and underground, which gave it a unique speakeasy vibe! Our server was very accommodating and attentive for our large party, and we all truly enjoyed our food items! From the apps, the calamari and burrata were some of my favorites and I can see why their creamy sweet burrata is one of their most popular dishes! My Chicken Parmesan (two huge pieces of chicken by the way!) was perfectly crispy while still having a tender inside. I did was that the noodles that came with this dish had a lighter amount of sauce because the chicken itself already had plenty of it! The portion sizes for every dish were very generous so please be ready to share food or have plenty of leftovers haha! Huge shout-out to the establishment for being patient and accommodating to my larger party, and you made this one heck of a memorable experience for our group! :)

If I could rate this place higher than 5 stars, I truly would! First off, the place is very cute with lots of seating. Second off, the food was delicious! I had the spaghetti pomodoro and the sauce was SO fresh and just really tasty. For dessert, I had the chocolate bomb. As a girl who loves anything chocolate + strawberry, I can genuinely say this was one of the best desserts I have ever had. My friends got the tiramisu which was also delicious! They also enjoyed their meals (chicken Parmesan, Cesar salad, and carbonara pasta). Most importantly, however, was the service. This was absolutely the best service I have had in Denver, maybe even ever. The waiter was extremely kind, our waters were always full, and everything came out so fast. They gave us complimentary limoncello shots with our dessert, and cookies on the house. Because we were celebrating my birthday they gave us the cake on the house. We also noticed on the check that they comped the burrata as well and it was listed as a "creating happy people" discount.. are you kidding me?!? How cute is that??? I 100% walked away happier than I ever have after dinner!! I cannot recommend this place enough. Truly became one of my new favorite spots in Denver.

    Radiatore Bolognese
    David H.

Started dinner with the burrata and the Caesar salad. Burrata was so creamy and delicious. The Caesar salad was shared amongst the four of us and could have fed a family of 10. Even came with anchovies on top. So good! For dinner we had the radiatore bolognese, bucatini carbonara, and Lu-'s wild mushroom fusilli (which we added shrimp to). Everything came out looking amazing and tasted wonderful.

Has gone downhill. I lived in Denver previously and this was one of my fine dining go tos. Now it feel like a tourist trap. I was sat outside with no heater in 58 degree weather and not offered an inside table. The burrata is bland and basically just ricotta. Lacked any flavor. Finally started shivering and asked to move inside to find an almost empty dining room. At least I was warm. The beet salad came, also bland, with cold chicken. Coffee tastes like a bar rag, lemon ice box cake was like custard which was off putting. My soda was diluted. Not much positive here and the bathroom was disgusting. I believe that how a restaurant approaches their bathroom maintenance and hygiene is how they run their kitchen, the parts of the business patrons cannot see. Osteria Marco leaves so much to be desired. Disappointed.

After that bread was brought over so we could dip into the already placed olive oil and vinegar that was on the table prior to sitting. We started with the calamari with was tasty but noticed the breading kept falling off the rings. I kept having to scoop the fallen breading out of the dipping sauce. For entrees, I got the mussels and linguine and my husband got the chicken piccata. Every mussel in my dish had meat in it which was nice but I felt like the overall dish was missing something as it was quite acidic tasting.. maybe some cream? The chicken piccata was pretty good, with mushrooms, artichokes, carrots, broccolini, and capers. My husband doesn't really like mushrooms or artichokes so I had a few bites of those and they were tasty. He said the dish reminded him of "old world piccata" and not the modern dish he was expecting of just chicken, capers, and pasta. But he said he did enjoy it. Service was slow and we did hear the next table have some complaints and their bill was comped. We did wait a bit between each course and for the server to appear for the bill. Overall, Odyssey restaurant was ok. The vibe is very cool as it is a converted home.

You can thank me later. Next up, we had the carpaccio and crudo with caviar. If I had to choose only one, I would pick the carpaccio but the crudo with caviar is great. Freddie recommended the crudo with caviar and what a wonderful harmony of flavors. These were both standout winners. And the carpaccio meat was incredibly soft. Best carpaccio I've ever had, and I love carpaccio. Last, we had the paglia e fieno (rabbit ragu) and branzino. The branzino was the item I was most excited to try leading to our reservation and it was the item I liked the least. I am a huge branzino fan and order it any place that has it. This was probably my least liked branzino I have had. The olive sauce was just way too strong for this fish. The fish itself was beautiful but I couldn't get past the sauce. I would pass on this, even if you like olives. The rabbit ragu really surprised me and it was my 3rd favorite thing we ordered. I would definitely order that again. We passed on dessert since we were full and nothing sounded too good. We did valet at the hotel next door. I immediately told my friends this was one of the best Denver restaurants we've had. The service was outstanding too. Freddie had the best recommendations and took great care of us.
