We had reservations for four on a Saturday night at 7:30. The hostess was lovely. After we were seated in a comfortable booth with nice, warm lighting, it took a bit to be greeted by our server. When he did get to us, he never introduced himself, which was surprising at a restaurant of this caliber. We had to ask Miguel, the Somm, what his name was. Turns out Tim was lovely and took good care of us. Miguel too, as he answered our questions about the wine and was very helpful in choosing a great bottle for us. We elected not to do the tasting menu and order a la carte. We ended up ordering the perfect amount of food for the four of us (parents and adult children). Here is what we ordered and what we thought: Burrata - The special pesto of the night was a shishito pepper and sesame seed one that was unique and excellent. With the yummy bread served with it, we ate and sopped up every bit. Crispy Pork Terrine - such a different way to make a terrine that really worked. We all loved it! I just wish there were a few more peach slices on the dish. Rainbow Trout Spiedini - Oh my gosh this was a surprise! It was probably our favorite bite of the night. It comes with three pieces, but Tim added another so we could each have our own skewer. I would order this for my main next time. So fresh, not at all fishy, and the salsa verde was fantastic. Eggplant Parmesan - it was good but didn't stand out like the other dishes we ordered. Sweet Corn Anolini - since it was sweet corn season, this dish hit on all levels. I think it was gone in two minutes. Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese - don't think heavy red sauce here. This version is authentic, light, well balanced, and so flavorful. It was absolutely delicious! Baked Cookie - I'm a fan of browned butter in any baked good, but this cookie needed more sugar. It was barely sweet. This place is pricey for sure. Even though we loved the pastas and they are obviously homemade, $36 and $37 for the amount of pasta served is a bit much. And $9 for a cookie? We would go back though. read more

Everything we ordered was so delicious. Every order comes with focaccia. I think that the à la carte small plate options stood out as more worthwhile to me over the focaccia accompaniments. Outstanding menu curation that was unique enough to offer great assortment and narrow enough to feel like you explored every section. Truly spectacular service to service such care for the food. This cannot be said enough for Denver restaurants, often finding reviews of the food outweighs the service every time. Not at Olivia. The som who outlined our pairings in the tasting menu was knowledgeable, kind, and passionate. My friend and I decided to celebrate our birthdays this year at Restaurant Olivia, and it truly was a special evening. We received complimentary sparkling wine. We started with our favorite Aperol Spritz, warm baked bread and butter, and a light chopped salad with pistachios, then we split an order of French onion ravioli, followed by an intermezzo. The main event was the eggplant parmigiana! Every sip and every bite were perfection. The service was the best I have ever experienced, with at least 6 staff members attending to your every need. The seating is comfortable, and there are nice booths for groups. The noise level started at moderate but ended up noisy, with everyone having such a wonderful time! The parking is parallel street parking and can be challenging. Expensive but worth it! Came here for a friends birthday and everything was amazing start to finish! Our waitress was attentive and gave wonderful recommendations. This is my second time at Olivia with my first time over 3 years ago and it is as good as I remember. The space is larger but feels intimate. Pasta was so delicious as my friends and I sampled pretty much everything. The clear winner was the tagliatelle!! So savory and rich. The desserts were also top notch as well -- the cookie was just ok but still tasty. As someone who bakes often I wasn't impressed but it was still good. I surprised my partner with dinner at Olivia for his birthday. It absolutely blew my expectations out of the water! The ambiance was great, a nice intimate setting. The food was INCREDIBLE (we had the tasting menu and the burrata). The staff went above and beyond - especially Timothy and Rachel, I cannot thank them enough. Neither one of us drink, and Timothy was sure to accommodate us throughout the entire evening. He brought us some fabulous N/A options and educated us about every product! I've been so eager to try this spot and it did not disappoint! It was one of the top three meals I've had in the city - the dishes were lovely, but the service blew me away! I went with a foodie friend - we each had a cocktail and split two appetizers, two entrees, and an order of tiramisu for dessert. As far as apps go, the chopped salad and focaccia were the crowd-pleasers. I'm still dreaming of the focaccia and sweet butter. Our two pasta entrees were delish - we both enjoyed the truffle gem more than the caramelized onion ravioli (but thought both were very tasty!). We had a complimentary palette cleanser and then embraced the tiramisu (very unique twist on a classic dessert). Throughout our meal, our server appropriately checked in and was very laid back (we very much appreciated her demeanor in a fine dining venue - she was so down-to-earth and had phenomenal recommendations!). This restaurant is Michelin rated so of course I had to go try it. I came to Olivia with high expectations but unfortunately, it didn't quite deliver. The meal was fine, but nothing about it stood out or felt particularly memorable, which was disappointing at this level. The French onion ravioli had a nice flavor, but I found myself wishing it leaned more into the "soup" aspect to really bring it to life. That being said, it was also very unique and I did enjoy the complexity of it. The chopped salad and burrata were both good, but pretty standard. I do have to say though, the burrata was different than any burrata I've ever had and was not with tomatoes which is what I'm used to. These were good, not bad by any means, just not memorable. The highlight of the night was definitely the huckleberry cheesecake which was rich, balanced. Overall, I left feeling underwhelmed. It wasn't a bad experience, just not one I'm in a hurry to repeat. I do have to give this restaurant points on their uniqueness on their dishes. I'm not quite sure about the Michelin recognition but might have to come back to give it another try. read more

Restaurant Olivia was the first Italian restaurant we had when we moved to Denver and we were not disappointed. We started off with the Chopped Salad which I appreciated that they split into two plates for my husband and I. After that, we got the burrata, I liked that it was made with pistachios! My husband got the Mezzaluna and I got the Tagliatelle. Both dishes were great, you could tell they were made from very fresh ingredients. The pasta was perfectly al dente and chewy. I appreciated that there were several non alcoholic drink options. I got the Moderate Mule and loved the hibiscus flavor! My husband got the Old Fashion which also had a hibiscus note and was tasty. I also liked that there were actual hand towels in the restrooms, a nice little touch. Our server was great - we were too dull for dessert but he gave us two take home and bake cookies. After seeing a menu with fresh gluten-free faccacia and pasta we were intrigued. When we found it fully booked weeks out we had to give it a go. We couldn't get reservations, but we found they have 8 first come first serve bar seats. The bar is a bit tight, but if you don't mind you might slip in for a dinner. Olivia has an intimate modern vibe with attentive service. The menu is designed to support multi course tastings. My gluten-free wife really enjoyed the ability to have many gf options across the spectrum. She usually has to watch everyone else get bread and butter. This time she had her own. The food was delicious and presented well. Overall a very pleasant dinning experience. The bill suggested they knew they were booked out and had a loyal following. I can respect the need to turn a profit but as much as we liked Olivia, it was quite expensive for pasta, and even more for their gf pasta. Otherwise I can understand why they get a lot of 5 stars. Came here for dinner last night. Was sat at the bar as I did not have a reservations. Ordered the Mushroom Pate, Mafaldine, Gemelli, Peach Crumble Cheesecake. The mushroom pate and dessert were delicious. The mafaldine was good but not spectacular. I do want to mention. I felt like me n my guest were kind of ignored and treated differently than everyone else sitting in the bar. Barely spoken to. And the guy serving bringing everyone's food out did not bring our food out. Just felt off, or even a pinch of discrimination. The service at this restaurant was fantastic, and I loved how spacious it felt in the room where we were seated. We did the tasting menu, and I appreciated that there wasn't an overlap between that and the a la carte options - it gave us more reasons to come back. We opened strong with incredibly delicious bread and butter for the table. The first course, the fried dough with mortadella, was good but felt like it was missing something to make the whole thing less dry (a cheese, maybe?). I really enjoyed the ravioli with potato and egg yolk filling in a beet sauce - it was rich and comforting. The tortellini in the third course were good, but the consomme was way too salty for me. I tried my family's tagliatelle for that course, and it was wonderful, though - definitely the star of the two options. The main course with the bison melted in your mouth, and I loved the contrast of that with the crunchy chips and the celery root. The hazelnut gelato for dessert was absolutely heavenly! Overall, it was creative and delicious - I'm glad I came! We all left full (but not painfully so) and happy. My party and I got the ravioli (caramelized onion, Gruyère fondue, crispy Parmesan), Malloreddus (fennel sausage, sage, brown butter, charred cabbage), and tagliatelle (alla bolognese, white sonora flour, prosciutto, Parmesan). Overall, delicious. The malloreddus was so unique and the tagliatelle was nice and meaty. Only con would be how the ravioli portion was a little tiny and it was barely warm (it was almost cold). We told them we were celebrating our friends birthday, and they gave us complimentary glasses of champagne!! They were also so kind to candle the dessert. Our water cups were never empty. We lowkey even experimented and drank as fast as we could but the servers were consistent with filling the cups. Water cups were always full- which is always appreciated. For starter we got their homemade focaccia w burrata (covered in herb olive oil and fried capers). Couldn't snap a pic but it was delicious. You can never go wrong with burrata! Excited to get to eat here and disappointed by most of it. Price more than $400 for two people and pasta tasting dinner and 2 cocktails. "Focaccia" was an underproofed ball of dough (no crust or flavor)--no flavor was a theme with under seasoned, lukewarm pasta dishes (the worst was the short rib pappardelle which should have been exquisite but was somehow flavorless and the texture was mealy and also lukewarm). Pacing and service should be spot on in a Michelin starred place but this was 2+ hours for 4 tiny plates of pasta and a dessert--the host finally came in to our rescue (probably to rush out since others were waiting) and we wish the delay was ours! No refills on water--even a chain knows to do that. Excellent old fashioned and tasty cheesecake (the panna cotta was an affront to panna cotta everywhere and we complained and they said "it's dairy free" which should have been listed on the menu since panna cotta is a MILK custard and this was a grey blob of gelatinized faux-milk but they did not take it off bill)--a miss all around. read more

I was so looking forward to dining at Olivia since we had to make reservations months in advance but it was a bit underwhelming for me. First of all, the space is super simple and there is nothing special about it. We had a nicer booth but their tables for 2 looked very uncomfortable and tiny. All four of us decided to go with their tasting menu ($115/per person) plus wine pairing ($75/per person). As there are no pescatarian options for two of their courses (out of 5), I was allowed to select anything from their regular menu, which was much appreciated. We started with some sparkling wine, and it was a great start! The bread and butter were absolutely delicious and probably my favorite part. Trout cappeletti's dough was too thick (almost felt undercooked) for my taste but I loved the caviar touch. Other entrees were just meh and too salty for me. Tiramisu dessert was delicious (unique toffee touch) but the presentation was lacking. Overall, it was a nice meal, and the wine paring was very special but I'd expect Michelin Star service, presentation and food quality for this price point. I probably won't be back. read more

This was a great restaurant that exceeded all expectations! We started with the whipped bison tallow and it was so good! And the bread was hands down one of the best breads I've ever had. I didn't even need the bison tallow. The tallow was so smooth and flavorful and I loved the plums and candied pine nuts. Probably one of my favorite breads with butter ever. Then we got the chopped salad. It was a salad nothing mind blowing but was very fresh and I loved how much cheese they put. They also split the plate without asking and no split plate charge. That was a really nice touch. Wish my plate had more apples. The tortellini was amazing! The corn flavor was spectacular and I was wowed by the texture and presentation. The venison special also blew my mind. I don't usually like venison because it can become chewy and overdone and then unpleasant. This venison was perfectly done! And the sauce that came with it was so delicious. Wish there was more vegetables and the halloumi cheese felt dry. The sorbet palate cleanser was very refreshing and a nice touch. The pecorino cheesecake was incredible. Probably one of my most favorite cheesecakes. You could actually taste the pecorino but it worked great! The crumble and huckleberries was great as well. The tiramisu was also delicious. I liked the honeycomb on top and have never seen that before. The service was super friendly and I felt like they did just enough without feeling like they were there all the time. For the drinks we had the peach Negroni, Manhattan, Toronto, earl grey old fashioned drink, amaro flight, and dessert wine flight. The peach Negroni had mezcal which I was skeptical about ordering since im not a huge mezcal fan. The drink worked really well. Wish there was more peach flavor though. The Toronto was quite boozy and bitter but it was a really nicely put together drink and was very complex. The earl grey old fashioned drink was so good. The earl grey flavor was very pronounced which I this is a hard thing to do in a cocktail. The Manhattan was good, nothing super memorable. The amaro flight was put together nicely. I don't really drink amaros so I put together a description of what sort of flight I would like and also gave some freedom to the bartender. I felt that they did a good job putting that together and I really enjoyed them all. The pine flavored one especially was my favorite. The dessert wines were put together nicely as well. My only complaint was that they can't make food off the tasting menu if you're not ordering it. There was a risotto I particularly wanted to try and that was disappointing. At least we could order the tiramisu off the tasting menu which was great because no Italian dinner is complete without one. Also the room was actually quite loud and I had a hard time hearing any conversation at times. They turned on music later too which was nice because first there was none. Incredible food! Wow! If you get the pleasure of having Greg as your server you'll get a delicious meal and a comedy show - he's hilarious! The black manhattan and the old fashioned were solid (per my husband) and I got the NA moderate mule - very sweet and slightly tart. We started with the Frittelle which is similar to a croquette with smoked trout and potato - tasty and salty. The focaccia they bring out is out of this world - divine truly! Squishy, fluffy, not your typical focaccia and they change up the inclusions and flavors! What you MUST get - the Venison .. Maui Venison so tender, flavorful, paired with truffle polenta (divine) some mushrooms (incredible) and a jus. It was soooooooooo delicious! And nice to get some protein with all the pasta we were eating too! The tagliatelle (bolognese) was so delicious. Creamy somehow, nice variations of meats, decadent! The Gemelli is one they bring back and rightfully so, a cream sauce with sausage (truffle isn't noticeable so if you're getting this for the truffle, you'd be disappointed) - also delicious! We'd come back and order exactly these 3 things but not do the half portions this time! Note - if you do get a half (it's an upcharge from a true half of the price of the dish, which is common - was nice to try 2 pastas without having sooo much food). Do not skip the huckleberry cheesecake - I didn't think I had room for dessert but was so glad to have gotten it. If you are celiac this place is a dream! My husband and I went here to celebrate our anniversary. When we sat down we were greeted with champagne. Our waitress was amazing, so friendly and answered all my questions about what was available for my gluten free options. We did the 5 course tasting menu and wine pairing. First course I swapped the hand pies for the pork terrine and then they had gluten free tagetelli and ravioli for the 2nd and 3rd courses. The bolognese was one of my favorites. I could have eaten a giant bowl of it. They also had a gluten free focaccia that was out of this world. Each wine that was served came with an explanation of the wine and why it was a good pairing which I liked hearing. For dessert I got a fall inspired cheesecake that I wish I was eating in front of a cozy fire. It was so good. At the end of the evening my husband said "my meal was fantastic, but your gluten free meal felt special." He was stealing bites of my food all night. TLDR; This was honestly one of my top favorite meals in my life, ever. Maybe even my favorite Italian restaurant I have tried to this day. We had a reservation for 9pm and was seated right away. They started us off with their house focaccia and this was already a very strong start to the extraordinary meal we were about to have. This is singlehandedly the most life-changing, sexiest bread and butter that has ever entered my mouth, it lives in my head rent-free. It was made with whipped parmesan butter and garlic confit - just beautiful and magnificent and chef's kiss. All the flavors danced on my tongue. Crunchy exterior, soft and chewy interior, perfect bread. They even provided us with a tart palette cleanser before they brought out the mains! For my pasta dish, I opted for the culurgiones and it was my first time eating this kind of pasta shape; they were similar to dumplings and they were filled with buffalo ricotta. It had sauce diavolo and calabrian chili crisp layered on top and a bite of this made me see stars. The little bit of spice and crunch of the chili crisp paired with the soft pasta and cheese was gorgeous. So unique and next level. I tried my friend's tagliatelle alla bolognese which was absolutely deliciously meaty and the noodles were cooked to my liking. My other friend's tortellini verdi was also to die for; it had a hint of sourness and the onions were a great touch. The desserts, however, were a hit or miss. They were honestly all pretty good but the apple tarte tatin was definitely a stand-out. It went so well with the toffee gelato. We were really excited to see banana pudding tiramisu on the menu but unfortunately it was lacking; we had expected a bit more balance of flavors but it hardly tasted like banana pudding or tiramisu, and the vanilla wafers at the bottom were difficult to spoon out as we were eating it so we were left with a layer of just that in the end. The chocolate olive oil cake tasted like a standard dark chocolate cake but a good one nonetheless! Overall, this was a highlight of my Denver trip and the service was amazing. We dined here on a weekday, Wednesday to be precise and it was packed! It had been a while that husband and I were planning have dinner here. The ambience is dim lit, Scandinavian, minimalistic and sophisticated! When we arrived, our table wasn't yet available and so the host got us some bubbles to begin with. Within minutes we were at our table. For drinks I got the Gloria, a bit strong but still a good drink. My husband got the house negroni, the block of ice it came with had a pretty engraving, such details! For apps, we got the Arancini and the Nardello grilled peppers. The Arancini was on par with what we had in Italy especially Sicily. The nardello peppers came with a peach puree that was spicier than the actual peppers. My husband is not a fan of spicy food and I was surprised when he went in for a second helping of the peppers. They were my favorite! For mains, I got the Ravioli and husband got the Tortelloni. I really loved the Toretlloni, it almost tasted like a taco went to Italy and dressed as tortellini. The corn, garlic and chilli oil made it so flavorful. It looked so pretty! The Ravioli was very flavorful too - almost felt influenced by the French onion soup. Portion sizes are good. For desserts, we got the panna cotta! I was really bummed they no longer had the tiramisu. Overall, our experience was excellent and this is one of those Italian places I would come back in the next couple months. I am giving this place 4 stars overall. The food was 3 stars for me but the service was 5 stars so I'm rating it 4 stars overall. I went here for my birthday and the service was great. The staff were all welcoming and attentive. They gave me a small glass of Prosecco to toast for my birthday which was a nice touch. The food just fell a little short for me. It was all good but nothing spectacular, like I was expecting. We ordered risotto, ravioli, tiramisu and some drinks. The best part of the meal was the complimentary focaccia bread. It was really delicious. The risotto was 2nd best and the ravioli and tiramisu didn't impress me. The tiramisu is not tiramisu. It's some weird deconstructed crème fraiche with fruit. It was just not was I was expecting at all. But the ambience is cute and intimate and the staff was very welcoming. read more

As soon as you step into the restaurant, you feel a warmth about the place. They were running a few minutes behind and offered us a drink while we waited, which was a nice touch. Start to finish, the service was top notch, the staff were very knowledgable with great recommendations. Favorite dish of the night was the gemelli, it was a bit tangy and super unique. The tagliatelle was disappointing, felt a little one note and was on the dry side with the sauce to noodle ratio especially as you got to the middle. Both pastas were a good portion size. We also got the peppers and burrata to start, the burrata was solid but fairly standard and the peppers were flavorful with the peach and ricotta although were a but charred tasting for my preference.
