Beckon is a wonderful restaurant for a special occasion. The food is all delicious along with the whole experience. We sat at the chefs counter and the acoustics were perfect. Meals came out fairly often and it made the almost 3 hours go by quickly. There were twelve courses and we had the additional wagyu beef course. Everything was delicious but the highlights were the mushroom pastry, the wagyu fat sourdough, the risotto, and the rockfish with caviar. The wagyu was good but probably not worth the price. The chestnut cake and gelato were highlights of the desserts. We also got a chocolate cake for our birthday celebration which was another highlight of the meal. Wonderful experience but fairly pricy so I'd only recommend for special occasions.

Beckon had a lovely ambiance, albeit a bit sterile. It had a cabin feel to it. There's a lot of space between tables, and overall it was pretty quiet. Our favorites were the egg, horse mackerel, and duck dish. I didn't care much for the pork (not photographed) and while the Wagyu add on was good, it was too simple for the price. I really enjoyed the cocktail that had velvet in the name- it was a milk punch with tarkal (which I've never heard of before). It was the definite favorite at our table. The sourdough bread was addictive, and I thought the overall tasting menu was very balanced with seasonal ingredients. The financier dessert was my favorite! Service was good but sometimes took a little long between courses. Some of the explanations were also a bit quiet or rushed so it was hard to catch everything. I would come back for another season but would skip the supplements.

I was treated to a birthday dinner at Beckon, and we did the tasting menu with drink pairings. I chose the nonalcoholic pairing, while my husband opted for the cocktail pairing. All in, the evening came out to about $800, which is wild--it's by far the most we've ever spent on a single dinner. That said, the food was truly delicious. Every bite was a burst of flavor, though my only real complaint is that each course was just a bite or two. I found myself wishing there was just a little more food. There were so many courses that I can't remember them all, but the fish stood out for how tender and flavorful it was, as did the duck. And the bread and butter--oh my god. I don't know what they did to that butter, but it was so good I was tasting it on its own. The drink pairings were also a highlight. Even the nonalcoholic drinks were creative and fun, and you could really tell how passionate the person behind them was. I loved hearing about how each drink was created and the history behind it. The final drink, which included caviar, sounded odd at first but actually worked surprisingly well. The service was phenomenal. Everyone wished me a happy birthday, even staff who weren't our direct servers. When we were ready to leave, they already had my jacket waiting to put on me. Now that is service! Overall, I had an amazing experience and a wonderful birthday dinner. I just wish there had been a bit more food, because everything was so good it left me wanting more.

I like Beckon in the context of Denver and Colorado fine dining. When you line it up against Guy Savoy, Thomas Keller, or fancy places in NYC, Paris, Chicago, Japan etc it is a tad flat. Don't get me wrong the food was good and executed well. There def was a theme and logic to the procession. Things I thought were a miss: Both wine pairings ....especially the $395 superior tasting...sure there were some good bottles but I felt it was crazy expensive for what you got. The Wagyu add on $95 for 2oz tasted amazing but it was just one bite. As was the cheese add on. The shock of the night was the amazing cocktail pairings....I didn't do it as Wolf's Tailor had so let me down with mediocre pairings. The gentleman who creates these cocktails takes the time to explain his thinking and process and I would HIGHLY RECOMMED getting the cocktail pairings Overall the experience was enjoyable and if you have the means by all means go out and enjoy. I might come back and just do the regular tasting menu for a different season...and I would do it in the other dinning area which is much more interactive.

I was treated to an amazing birthday at Michelin Star restaurant, Beckon. Their menu changes quarterly with the seasons. We got to experience The Snow Moon Menu. This was a 12 course dinner, which included bread and an optional enhancement. We also opted for the Sommelier Pairing. We were seated at the communal Chef's Counter and got to observe the orchestrated preparation of our many flavorful dishes. Even though you can see other guests around the table and there is soft music playing, it was still a very intimate setting, Great care was taken by our server to accommodate my allergies and my friend's preference to not have fish. As this is a tasting menu, guests need to be aware that this means a collection of several dishes in small portions - the purpose is to sample a house's specialty and take advantage of seasonal ingredients. Just like the illustrations on their tasting menu show the phases of the moon evolving from a sliver to a full moon, the flavors of the courses built upon each other. Another impressive note, was the Sommelier Pairing. I have never had such a masterful pairing of wines. From the dimly lit sign on the busy Larimer Street in RiNo, Beckon summons you to join them for an unforgettable experience.

This was indeed a 5-star experience. Another Michillin star restaurant that I have had the pleasure of visiting. My friend has been coming to Beckon for some time now, and we decided to make a trip to Denver to dine in. The price is fine dining, which you pay upfront with your resy. The place looks like a hidden bungalo turned restaurant, very intimate. Especially the chefs counter, where you can see all the action. Chef Duncan Holmes has captured a relaxed atmosphere with a straight forward point of view on food. Service - was great. All the servers were great. I feel like we got personalized service because our friend is a frequent patron. The chef even served us a couple of dishes and spoke to us briefly. Food - there's a seasonal tasting menu. All of the dishes were unique and complex. I loved how well thought out each dish was. I could tell intention, and a love for depth of flavor was in each dish. I left full and satisfied enough to justify the expense. Below are the dishes. -Speciality cocktail- hibiscus, chrysthemum & cherry. -Lobster, fennel & trout roe -Cherry tomatoe, basil, salad Burnet -Corn, celtuce & sorghum -Tilefish, clam & potatoe -Scallop, chicken & marigold - Duck, chanterrelle mushrooms & peach - Black cod, nappa cabbage & mustard seed - Cucumber, versus & black mint - Plum, shiso & szechuan - Flavors of cherry

First of all, there is plenty of thorough communication when you book and in the days leading up to your arrival. You do have to prepay though. I was so stressed because we were 10 minutes late because our Uber was having issues. They were very nice about it though. We sat at the Chef's table and it was dark and very cool. I had a couple of dietary preferences and they were very accommodating. We got the cocktail pairing and they did a great job explaining both the food and drinks. The presentation was great for the food. I was celebrating a birthday and they gave me a little chocolate dessert with a candle. Some things I liked more than others, but overall it was great.

Finally tried this one star Michelin restaurant! Amazing food and the service was attentive and wonderful. We sat in the sommeliers salon which was a private room between the two main rooms. It was private, quiet, and so nice. Since we were by ourselves each course was a surprise since we didn't have to be sitting around other people. The lighting was so nice and the chair was comfortable. The courses were nicely paced. We had a couple cocktails and one wine pairing. The cocktails were very nicely crafted I especially enjoyed the gin one and also the hot dessert cocktail was superb! Out of all the food I especially enjoyed the danish picnic, cherry tomatoes, the tile fish, wagyu, the ice with cream palate cleansers, and plum and shiso dessert. Apparently the pork chop was mind blowing. They were very careful about allergies. The stuffed cabbage was an interesting dish and a vegetarian/allergies alternative. It was good but the cabbage skin was tough and difficult to eat. I loved the cherry tomatoes dish but it was so hard to eat the delicious oil at the bottom a different plate would have been better. The duck was good, but I found the flavor to be a bit livery and the fat was chewy. The beet dish was surprisingly very flavorful and delicious this was also an alternative. The welcome drink was very delicious. Wish there was less ice and more drink. The cherry profiterole needed more filling. The pate de fruit which is something I don't usually like was very delicious. Bonbon was good not mind blowing. I thought the shell on the outside was too soft. The wine pairings all worked very well. The sommelier was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Personally thought the pours were a bit light compared to other dining experiences I've had at restaurants of similar caliber. Wagyu add on was worth it and really delicious. However the price was so expensive compared to what I'm used to seeing when in Japan and so it's only worth it if you've never had it or this is an exceptionally special occasion. All the servers were attentive and friendly. Napkin was always folded when I got back to the table. Would highly recommend and go back.

This was an amazing experience as one might imagine. I had been to only one other Michelin rated restaurant before coming to Beckon and this experience was superior in every way. Situated along Larimer Street, in between other lively bars and restaurants, this dining experience almost seems out of place compared to other bars and restaurants along Larimer. Every single taste was prepared with perfection and detail. The sommelier was well versed on the wines served to pair precisely with each taste. The broths and sauces that accompanied each items were decadent and full of flavor prepared with such intentionality, it's almost indescribable. I have never experienced this degree of perfection before in dining. The service was impeccable and attentive to an exceptional degree. We did partake in the additional wagyu tasting- an excellent choice on our part. This is definitely an exceptional experience to have in Denver. Will return as the menu changes along with the seasons. Absolutely divine!

Dining at Beckon was one of the best culinary experiences I've ever had. The ambiance is dark and sexy. Sitting at the chef's table provided a glimpse into the precision put into each dish. The chefs thoroughly explained each course in detail. The service was absolutely impeccable. This twelve course meal was a delicious journey. I had custom made cocktails made to my preference. They were strong but tasty. My favorite courses were the white asparagus with chicken fat & sunflower seed, the duck, morel mushroom & black truffle, and the lamb, sesame & cauliflower. The asparagus dish had complex textures and savory flavors. The duck was tender and paired well with the black truffle. The lamb was served with two sauces, which elevated the dish. We celebrated my boyfriend's birthday so we were also treated to a chocolate cake with ganache. I would definitely return to Beckon for a celebratory dinner.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. When your girlfriend's boss tells her to go somewhere nice for a dinner for 2 due to a very successful project she was in charge of, you go to a Michelin star restaurant. I have always wanted to go to a Michelin star restaurant so when this opportunity presented itself, it was too good to pass up. We experienced The Long Night Moon quarterly menu concept that ran 10/2023 to 12/2023. As mentioned before, this was my first experience at a Michelin star restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed the seasonally rotating menu concept. Along with The Long Night Moon, we also added the non-alcoholic drink pairing which pairs a unique drink with almost every course. I would HIGHLY recommend adding the drink pairing as it was evident that careful thought was put into how the drinks and the courses would complement each other. The food and drinks were amazing. At first, there were a few courses that I was not entirely sold on, but my girlfriend informed me that restaurants like these provide an experience as well as a meal so the different courses are presented in an intentional order. After knowing that, everything made sense and I was completely sold. The first few courses were light and simpler while the latter courses were heavier and complex (check out my photos). The drinks that accommodated the courses either enhanced flavors in the food or masked certain flavors that may be too intense for some. Again, I cannot recommend the drink pairing enough. A true experience would not be complete without amazing service and Beckon hit the nail on the head. There was not a single time that we were unsatisfied with the timing of anything. In fact, we were made aware that the experience would take 2.5 hours total and it took exactly that much time when we received our check. Impressive. The ambiance of the restaurant is impeccable. We opted for a more intimate setting by sitting on the covered patio which we enjoyed but the indoor seating seemed very enticing as well for those looking for a more involved experience. I would highly recommend people looking for an unforgettable experience to spend an evening at Beckon. It will surely be a memory not to be forgotten easily. Unfortunately, Yelp only allows up to 10 pictures to be uploaded per review (I took 23 pictures). I selected pictures that I believe were the most representative of my experience to be uploaded along with this review.

Went here for my birthday last year and we couldn't have picked a better spot! We heard this place got a Michelin star now that they are giving those to Colorado restaurants, but we came before it was awarded one. Book your reservation far in advance and be prepared for a long, intricate meal. Chef's table is a must so that you can watch the food being prepped and plated. I loved every single dish, but the tomato basil gummy was one of my favorite things I tasted.

Food: Truly incredible. The thing I really loved about the journey of food here is that it's all very approachable food, but elevated. 99% of the items were things I would have ordered off an a la carte menu somewhere -- they were just elevated and of the highest quality. Everything was melt in your mouth. My favorite dish was the yellowtail in tomato water. Sounds basic but it was truly delicious, balanced/bold flavors. The desserts were amazing too. Service: Very high caliber. Kind. Attentive. My main complaint is that I thought the food came out at very very slow pace. I understand this type of thing at fancier restaurants but I felt this was just a bit too slow. We were pretty hungry for the first hour+ we were there. Ambience: We stayed at the one table in the "sommelier saloon". It was an interesting spot. They very much warn you when you reserve that this spot is "mere steps away from the chef's counter. An entertaining choice for diners who don't mind being in the midst of the action." I took that as much closer to the chefs counter than it really is. It's definitely not a great place for someone that gets distracted easily because it's the hot spot for all the servers to walk/stay in and out of constantly. Overall we had a fine time but wouldn't stay in this spot again. The garden is much much warmer/nicer than I expected. I would definitely stay out there next time! Even in the winter.
