A great salad blue & bacon

It was late and we had just flown into town to visit family. We were so hungry. Off to Steuben's! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Aug a great space, it was so cute and welcoming and I can see why our family who lives nearby enjoy being regulars.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The standouts for us were the meatloaf. It was amazing. I want the dang recipe! It was so flavorful and the texture was perfect. And the salad. Bleu cheese and bacon are always good but the combination of peppers and proportions of lettuce to toppings made this salad exceptional. Finally the key lime cheesecake ended the meal with groan of enjoyment. Definitely worth a stop. There were so many menu options I hope to try others during our next visit.

After a long day of travel, our first stop in Denver was dinner at Steuben's. It's EXACTLY what we needed! The staff is personable, and our waitress, Abby, was wonderful! Food was delicious, it's hard to pick a favorite honestly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe overall felt cozy, and a bit of a throwback esthetic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were so many amazing menu options, I'd definitely love to return and try more dishes. (There are menu options for those with gluten free and dairy free dietary needs!) thanks for welcoming us to Denver, Steuben's!

Stopped in this weekend to try the brunch menu! Started off with the deviled eggs which were delicious and went for the tomato and avocado benedict. It came out with perfectly poached eggs and a large serving of crispy potatoes! We also ordered the cookies n cream milkshake which was delicious, their milkshakes are a classic staple and they have a ton of fun specialty flavors as well. The restaurant was relatively busy but we were able to be seated immediately without a reservation. The service here is always wonderful and while the brunch menu has a wonderful selection of items, I'm definitely still biased to their happy hour menu!

I had a fantastic dinner here last night. It was my first time at Steuben's. My waitress was very kind and professional. I very much enjoyed my interactions with her. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior of this place has a sleek retro 50s modern vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They serve home cooked comfort food. I ordered the pot roast with their specialty biscuit and a club soda with lime. Club soda tasted really good! Their pot roast is out of this world. If you're a pot roast fan like me, order it! I also ordered their bread pudding for dessert. The portion is big and plenty for two people. It wasn't overly sweet too. The waitress was correct when telling me the sweetness level. Overall, very impressive! I will probably return here when I'm back in town on Sunday. They're known for their fried chicken and I want to try it as I'm a huge fan of it.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A highly reviewed restaurant for classic American dishes that's well themed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We made a reservation through OpenTable and were able to call the restaurant to make modifications when we knew we were running late. The staff member on the phone was very accommodating and helpful. It took us a few tries to find parking, but there is street parking available nearby. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have both indoor and outdoor seating available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated on the covered patio that was equipped with heaters. The heaters were on full blast on a 73 degree day. We asked if it was possible to turn down the heat but they said they could not. It's good that they have strong heaters for colder days but it's a lot less pleasant on the warmer ones. It was to the point where my entire chest and face were bright red by the end of the dining experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of the people in our party ordered an iced tea and all of the ice melted after a few minutes. The service started out on the more negative side. Our server kept disappearing and his nose was visibly running when he came by the table. His responses were also very short when we asked questions. He did appear to be in a much better mood later on in the experience after we had our food. He began to check on us more frequently and was a lot more chatty. The monkey bread was on the more dry side and some of the pieces were very crispy, but it had a good level of sweetness that wasn't overwhelming. The rest of the food was just okay. I ordered the North Shore 3-way and the entire bottom bun was soggy. I ended up just not eating the bottom bun because it was extremely mushy. The flavors of the dish didn't mix well together. Their version of a smash burger was pretty good. It looks a little bit lonely if you order it as is because it doesn't have a side that comes with it unless you pay extra. They have a lot of cocktails that looked interesting, but we didn't end up ordering any during this trip. Based on this experience, I wouldn't feel the need to return on my own but I would give it another try if someone else wanted to go.

Service was fast and super nice! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I enjoyed the old timey atmosphere with the old menus and newspapers on the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Chicken pot pie- very yummy I loved the crust it was so flaky and buttery Salmon- this was hands down the best thing I ate in my time in Denver. The chickpea salad was so yummy and the lemon juice on top made it so good Brussels sprouts- I think they just gave us a bad batch bc they were so salty and we couldn't eat them but they took it off the bill and gave us a slice of cake Carrot cake- I will always love a carrot cake so nothing crazy to report on that

I want to preface this with our server was amazing and management was super cool. We loved our dining experience from a service standpoint. Also kitchen has nothing to do with the changes they just follow orders so it is owners fault. WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!!! 10 years ago you had an amazing menu and everything on it was bomb dot com. Now the same gravy fries are somewhat gravy and cheesy and they had no flavor. The monte cristo used to be fluffy battered and now it's just crispy and not the good crispy. The biscuit was super dry and inedible. The bread pudding was burnt when it came to me. So sad. Did you fire your chef or did he quit??? Whatever you do bring them back please. The hot chicken had too much spice not enough flavor. Also the pickles used to be scratched made here into pickle spears. Also charging for sides is criminal. The Brussels sprouts were the best thing. Please have an open forum where the public helps you make adjustments to the menu to bring back Steuben's to its former glory. THE PUBLIC WANTS TO HELP YOU!!! We want our favorite restaurant back.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Midcentury styled restaurant in the uptown neighborhood! While it is a popular brunch spot, I recently ate here for dinner on a cold night. They offer many comfort food options![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That said, the chicken pot pie ($18) was a very hearty and tasty option! Loved the flaky and crisp pot pie pastry cover and the filling had great flavor! However the filling may have had to wait on the crust- the crust was hot and obviously freshly baked while the pot pie filling was warm but not hot. We had good service - friendly, timely, and personable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were three of us dining in and we had a nice table/booth near the entrance.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our party also had: -the green chile cheeseburger which for $16, (served burger only, no fries or sides) was reported as fairly unremarkable. Visually, I thought it could have been presented better as the bun looked smashed or roughed up/fast food style. -and the fried chicken plate ($25). My friend said the fried chicken was good but some of the white meat was pretty dry. As a whole, while the restaurant has diner like inspirations, do not expect diner like pricing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One note for ambiance, the music was too loud for the aesthetic and busyness of the restaurant that evening. We had trouble talking/hearing each other over the music. The speaker was right above or table so that may have underscored the issue/volume level for us.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]After 8 years of living in Denver, we finally tried Steuben's Uptown -- and I'm glad we made a reservation because the place was packed![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once seated, we dove into their extensive drink and food menus. Our waitress took our drink order right away, and though it took us a few extra minutes (okay, about eight) to decide on food, she was patient and friendly. Drinks arrived just as we finished ordering, which was perfect timing. We started with the fried pickles, which came out piping hot -- delicious, though just a touch over-seasoned. For mains, I had the pot roast and my husband went with the chicken pot pie. Both dishes were hearty, comforting, and generously portioned, but a bit heavy on the salt. We definitely noticed it the next morning when we were both super thirsty! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, Steuben's Uptown delivered great service, satisfying comfort food, and a lively atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A solid 4 stars from us

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Oooh WOW , this place was fun for a Christmas Pop-up bar![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Had friends come see me for the New Year and they still wanted some holiday cheer. We just made the cut off for visiting the Christmas set up. Made reservations via Open Table. The restaurant had a parking lot and there were spots on the street as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They had the entire enclosed patio decorated and they had heaters going.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They even turned it down for us as it was a bit too warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our server was awesome. We ordered off the happy hour menus and some stuff off the regular menu. They had so many fun holiday drinks. The Parker rolls melted in our mouths and they had a delicious Monte Cristo. Ordered a dreamy creamy carrot cake slice . Not too sweet , it was just right. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a very relaxing and welcoming experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Fried Chicken*
    athena z.

I ordered the fried chicken per the waiter's suggestion. The chicken was very moist and seasoned. There were three humongous pieces and I took half of them in a to go box. The gravy was typical, nothing specially flavored about it. The service was good, our waiter was very friendly and gave suggestions. The restrooms were large and clean. The interior design of the restaurant is very American with newspapers and pictures on the walls. If I wasn't an American, this restaurant is how I would imagine an American restaurant would be like.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great, charming diner in Denver with awesome service and a fun, welcoming vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lobster roll was good, but honestly not worth the price tag. There are better things on the menu to try. Still, it's definitely a spot worth checking out, especially if you enjoy places that have been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.

Bedlam was recommended to us for late night drinks by staff working in one of the restaurants at our hotel. During our short stay in Denver, we went to Bedlam twice. The first time was around 11:30 on a Thursday night. We had a few cocktails along with a cheese and charcuterie plate. The second time was around 12:30 on a Saturday night when we came in for a night cap. The first time we came in, it wasn't too busy, and we were encouraged to sit wherever we wanted. The bar was full so we chose a small table. Our server gave us menus, though specials were written on a chalkboard above the bar. We each tired a couple of cocktails and had a shot called the Master Shot. We also chose the make-your-own charcuterie board. Our favorite drink was the Woo Girl, which allowed us to choose our spirit of choice. I chose gin and my friend chose tequila. When we returned a couple of nights later, we knew already we were going to order the Woo Girl cocktail. It was packed on a Saturday night, but there was a small table in back where they seated us. This bar is more for spending time with the friends you come with, rather than mingling, as staff seats you at a table. It doesn't seem like they offer standing room or just squeezing in, though maybe we just didn't experience that. That said, all in all, I really enjoyed Bedlam and recommend it to anyone going to Denver.

My friends and I tried a number of the signature cocktails and had a few hot toddys that were super good. I'm personally a big gin and soda fan and loved ther housemade tonic that was in their classic G&T. Did not try any of the food but the dawgs were definitely would be tempting if I was hungry. Loved the decor and the plants all up in the space. The space is a bit more dimly lit and I think of a reasonable volume for a date. Would love to come back and spend some more time here.

I won't completely spoil it for people who want the fun of the hunt, but I'll leave a few hints at the bottom. The drink special that night - their version of an Old Fashioned - was excellent and absolutely worth ordering. The other cocktails are liquor + mixer with the soda or bar gun. We tried a local gin (can't remember the name) & soda and a Four Roses Bourbon & Pepsi. There was a odd flavor that came with that round and tasted watered down. Stick with the special. So good! I'd go back all day for the special alone. The staff was a little bit of an outlier compared to the rest of the experience. Everyone was nice, but they didn't seem especially engaged, and the attire didn't really match the speakeasy atmosphere.
