My friend and I had breakfast here the other morning, and really enjoyed it! Our server was great - he checked on us multiple times, made recommendations, and was very lively for early in the morning. There's tons of seating within this restaurant, including many seats around the bar. We were seated at a booth, which was nice. On to the food - I had the veggie benedict, which came with a very generous portion of potatoes, and plenty of hollandaise. I really enjoyed this breakfast, and the seemingly bottomless coffee. I did take most of my potatoes home, they make for a great reheat for another breakfast. Will absolutely be back to try more of the menu!
A friend put me onto this brunch spot, and now it's firmly in my rotation. It's tucked inside a hotel in McGregor Square and has such a fun, lively vibe--especially on the weekends. The first few times I went, I couldn't stop ordering the Hangover Burger... and for good reason. From the perfectly cooked smash burger to the rich, flavorful aioli, it's *so* satisfying. It's definitely on the bigger side, though, so come hungry. Their cocktails are also a win across the board, but my personal favorites are the "Drunk in Love" and the "Resting Spritz Face"--both super refreshing and brunch-approved. I brought my boyfriend here, and he got the short rib eggs Benedict and immediately hit me with a "run, don't walk" so that tells you everything you need to know. More recently, I came with a group of girlfriends and finally branched out to the steak & eggs. I ordered my steak medium with fries instead of the breakfast potatoes and absolutely *destroyed* that plate. The chimichurri was fresh and herby, the avocado added the perfect creamy balance, and dipping the fries in a side of garlic aioli just took it to another level. This is such a great spot for a girls' brunch--it does get pretty poppin on weekends, so I'd recommend making a reservation if you're going with a group. That said, I've also gone on a weekday morning and sat at the bar, which was a much more relaxed (but still perfect) vibe. Definitely a go-to brunch spot with something for everyone.

We got the monthly special pancake, which was cookie butter and it was absolutely to die for. On top of that, our server TJ was one of the warmest, kindest servers we've ever had. He made my son feel so at home that he's asking when we're going back.
My friend and I enjoyed a Friday morning brunch at The Original while staying at the Rally Hotel. It's location, at our hotel, made it convenient, but the menu looked to be just our style as well. We headed down to a crowded restaurant around 11 AM. It was pretty packed because it was opening day for the Colorado Rockies, and everyone was getting pre-game food. We checked in, to find that it was only about a 15-20 minute wait, a perfect amount of time to get mimosas at the bar. It actually turned out that we had a nice little area to drink our mimosas near the hostess stand, where we got to chat with other patrons. The restaurant itself is an upscale and modern diner, with modern diner food. It had a bight aesthetic. Once we were seated, we got to look over the menu. We decided to share the Maple Deviled Eggs and OG Hash with soyrizo. I was glad we shared so we could try both dishes. Also, the portions were rather large. Anyway, we enjoyed the food. It was creative and flavorful. There were lots of menu items the sounded good, so it was difficult to decide. It was also fun to try a couple of breakfast cocktails, for something different than a mimosa. All in all, we had a great brunch at The Original, and it was a great way to start our day.
Pretty great brunch spot! It's like an upscale diner with friendly staff, fun 70s vibe decor and lots of menu options. Located across the ballpark. I went for the chicken and biscuit. Chicken was coated with a hot honey. It came with sausage gravy, which I always ask for on the side. The dish came like an open faced sandwich topped with eggs. Very tasty. Made it even better with their selection of local hot sauces to meet my sweet and spicy desires. The sausage gravy wasn't great but didn't miss it. Dish was good as is!
Man, the short rib benedict is to die for! The rich hollandaise and the tender beef along with the crispy potatoes was fabulous and the hollandaise was decadent! We also had the banana french toast which is sumptuous with the banana bread topped with delicious walnuts (we took one piece off when I took the photo so it is really ample sized)! The coffee was off today...bitter and sour, but when I asked for a new cup of it, it was better the second round. Amazing service by Teej. We love that the Dining Out Passbook has this place in there! Great deal.
First time here! The food was not bad, but nothing special. Definitely better options out there. I rate the food about a C+. Good coffee. Great service. We didn't order anything extravagant, just breakfast. This is a nice establishment, but the elevated ambience does not match the cuisine. Not sure if I will come back, at least not as my choice. Unless a group of friends chooses this place. Service was great!
The OG is serving one of the most satisfying brunches I've had recently, and it absolutely deserves a spot in your rotation. Located inside McGregor Square at The Rally Hotel, The OG leans into classic diner vibes with a polished edge. The space feels relaxed and welcoming, and the menu hits that sweet spot between comforting and indulgent. Everything we tried was solid, but there is a sleeper hit on the menu that I cannot stop thinking about: the Hangover Burger. A juicy 5oz patty topped with caramelized onions, pickles, bacon, American cheese, an over easy egg, spicy aioli, all on a soft potato bun. It is rich, messy in the best way, and exactly what brunch should be. If you are looking for a brunch spot that skips the fuss and delivers on flavor, this is it. Order the burger. Trust me.

We started with the Churros as a breakfast appetizer (yes, breakfast dessert first!) -- and honestly, they could've been my entire meal. So delicious! For our mains, I had the Chicken and Biscuits, and my husband went for the Ham Benedict. My chicken and biscuits were a perfect mix of sweet, spicy, and savory -- exactly what you want on a brisk morning. My husband's Benedict was cooked perfectly, which most places don't always get right. If you love a good brunch spot, The Original is a must-try. Great food, friendly service, and they even have a full bar!
While the service is friendly, it took a long time to get the food and drinks. The servers did share with the people next to me at the bar that the kitchen was swamped. They apparently waiting for about an hour for their food. They said the kitchen was overloaded but the restaurant want only half filled. Makes me wonder how slower service is on actual busy days. I asked for my steak medium rare but it came out more blue-rare. I got a feeling that they rushed the cooking given how backed up it is but honestly it's worse to get an order wrong after having it take a long time rather than ensuring the wait is worth it. I tried the hot take drink but it didn't taste like it had any tequila in it and when the bartender asked how I like it, I said it was alright and he said "I don't make the recipe" but he does make the drinks... They took my steak back to the kitchen but they're just going to put it back on the grill which I'm nervous about because most of that time it comes back overcooked, which ended up being the case. I decided not to eat the dish and leave instead, overall a big bummer
This place is so cool! I really like the spacing and lighting. There's plenty of space to spread out and they have awesome decorations. The service was generally good. Everyone was super friendly. The only thing for me was coffee refills were a little slow. I figured they must have been busy, but my coffee cup wasn't even filled all the way each time. I think a pot of coffee at the table would have been better. On to the food! We had the green Chili fries, short ribs eggs Benedict andd French toast. I really enjoyed all of it. We didn't finish the fries because there were so many, but the chili worked really well with all the toppings. The short rib was tender and very flavorful. The eggs actually bled out, which shouldn't be a surprise, but I've had so many and eggs Benedict at other places that I wasn't expecting these to be so good. The French toast was very sweet in a good way. I would definitely get those again All in all, I'll definitely go back next time I'm in Denver.

Came here to catch up with a girlfriend and it was a great experience! By happenstance there was a DJ playing which created a nice vibe. It was 10:30am so i was nervous it was going to be too loud and rowdy but it was a vibe additional to the vibes a a bit on the quite side. The breakfast sandwich was absolutely bomb! The brioche bun was a true game changer. I would happily come back here for breakfast or brunch. read more
We came to Denver expecting amazing mountain views. What we didn't expect was to need a moment of silence after brunch. The food? Amazing. The weather? Amazing. The service? Also amazing. Basically, The Original understood the assignment. Kayleigh took great care of us from start to finish. She noticed my wife and I were wearing Chris Brown and Usher tour shirts and asked if we were headed to the concert. We both replied, "No," which probably made us look like two people who just enjoy confusing strangers. We just liked the shirts, okay? Now let's talk cocktails. The "Don't Mind If I Do" was hands down one of the best Old Fashioned-style cocktails I've had in a long time. Smooth, balanced, and dangerous because it tricks you into thinking, "One more couldn't hurt." My wife ordered the Pig & Pony and absolutely loved it. We also ordered the Hot Take... which isn't pictured because we inhaled it before either of us remembered phones have cameras. The food was phenomenal, the drinks were outstanding, and the atmosphere somehow managed to be both lively and relaxing. If you're in Denver and skip this place, that's between you and your poor life choices. We'll definitely be back... preferably wearing more random concert shirts just to keep Kayleigh guessing. read more
Met here for brunch today, and it was PACKED, on a waitlist for 45 minutes, for Sunday brunch as well as the crowds attending the Rockies versus Giants baseball game at the stadium next door. Raistlin (Rai) was a great server, taking time to chat with us a bit, checking on us, making sure our orders were correct. We ordered a shredded short rib eggs Benedict and a OG Breakfast with 2 eggs sunny side up, home style potatoes, sourdough toast. Enjoyed my Strawberry Stand and my husband enjoyed his Espresso martini. Everything tasted great! It was fun trying two hot sauces on the table as well. read more

Awesome food, great drinks, good/fast service. Has grandmas kitchen vibes but across from Coors field in McGregors square. Parking is downtown parking. Glad we had a reservation, it started ok took time to get a table. read more

The Original is a really fun spot for brunch, it's got a super cute interior and decor, is spacious, and has a great vibe. We had a reservation for Sunday brunch, and after checking in we waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated. The waiting area is comfortable, with nice couches, and free (mediocre) coffee, which made the short wait pleasant and easy. Service was good, the hostesses and our server were super friendly, and we got our food fairly quickly after ordering, which was nice considering how busy they were. Drinks were solid, though we didn't try the boozy drinks they did look tempting. We tried both the drip coffee and cold brew, and both hit the mark. I got the Chorizo Hash, and it was fantastic. The mix of potatoes, veggies, and chorizo came together perfectly and is definitely something I'd order again. We also had the Steak & Egg Ranchero with chimichurri on the side. I would recommend getting the eggs scrambled, we got over-easy and it was a bit too messy. The sauce and pickled onions gave it great flavor, though the steak was a little fatty. Still, it was a satisfying dish overall. Would definitely come back to try more of the menu, the space and food both make for a great brunch spot. read more

My family had a very nice breakfast here the other day. Our server was lovely and we enjoyed the diner vibe. My husband and I shared the banana bread French toast and the breakfast burrito. Both were delicious. My son enjoyed the breakfast corn dogs for 3 subsequent meals (admittedly they were good). read more

Wow so impressed with the service here, out waiter was so welcoming and friendly. The portions here are also VERY generous so I honestly could've shared my chorizo hash. Everything was delicious and the vibes of the place are just as good. So glad we stopped here in Denver, def recommend for some hearty brunch. The french toast is also worth trying! read more

We had a great time going to The Original! It was our first time coming here and everyone working here welcomed us in with friendly smiles and were so attentive. Everything came out quickly and hot and fresh! This isn't too far of a walk from Union Station so that is perfect for us! It was decorated here for the holidays and has a real cozy friendly family vibe here. The food was so delicious too! We did sweet and savory ! Potatoes French toast w/ berries and cream and biscuits and sausage gravy and coffee and juice! All made to perfection! read more
This cafe is inside the Rally hotel. Great breakfast and service. We preorder breakfast. I love that they have coffee station outside the restaurant and inside with to go cups. I drink tea which is always an issue. They bring it late and then it's too hot to drink. My loss. read more

Had breakfast here today and ordered the avocado toast. Ingredients were fresh in the eggs were cooked nicely. Not sure if I liked the fully dressed salad that is on top of the avocado and under the egg, overall it was good but I probably would not get it again. the restaurant was very clean and had a very diner feel to it. The "OG" or "The Original is also co-located to The Rally Hotel. The wait was over an hour at 10:30 am! And they open only for breakfast/brunch. We had a little mishap with the hostess because she thought we were canceling our wait to go sit at the bar when we really just inquired in case it seats came opened. So we ended up waiting like an hour and a half - after waiting an hour, we walked up to the hostess stand and asked her how much longer cause everyone after us had already been seated. So she added us to the list..... We had been sitting right next to them the entire time! Anyway, the ambiance is bright and cheerful, despite the mixup. I always have to try Deviled Eggs, lol. They were good but probably would be better with real bacon on top vs. fried onions. The Chicken Fried Steak was okay- it came with sausage gravy but probably would have been better with Jalapeño Gravy. I think they needed to change the oil; The scrambled eggs were fluffy which I love. The "hashbrowns" were unqiue in that they made them in a wafflele iron! I had the Steak & Egg Ranchero and it was cooked to perfection. The chimichurri need a tad more salt and the potatoes were fried just right and soft in the middle. read more

We received great service, the drinks were great, and the food was amazing! Cold brew is made in house and it's delicious, the chicken & biscuits and bacon, egg, & cheese were wonderful. I've come here a handful of times now, and it's always been pretty tasty. This most recent visit was for my friend's birthday, and we all (party of six) decided to do the mimosas. Four of us had already been there for a few hours when the other two arrived after church, and they ordered mimosas as well. That's when things got a little annoying. The mimosas are charged by the bottle, and instead of just letting us pour the champagne ourselves, our waiter insisted on doing all the refills. I get that he might've been trying to give good service, but he ended up using nearly an entire bottle to fill just two cups when the other four of us barely had anything left. It felt like we were being pushed into buying more bottles than we actually needed, which was frustrating. That said, they did give us a complimentary bottle for my friend's birthday, which I really appreciated. And even though we stayed pretty close to closing time, the service stayed upbeat and attentive, which doesn't always happen at restaurants when it gets late. The vibe is honestly one of my favorite parts of this place. It's a fun, casual, nostalgic mix of classic American diner energy and elegant railway dining cars, all with a modern twist. It feels warm, welcoming, and just easy to hang out in, perfect for brunch, birthdays, or just a cute meal with friends. Despite the hiccup with the mimosas, the food was good as always, and the atmosphere makes it a spot I'll keep coming back to. read more

We sat outside on the patio and it was a nice day so perfect for brunch. We had good service that was quick and didn't have to wait long but reservations are preferred. You won't regret getting the banana French toast! read more
Very nice balance between modern and throwback diner. My husband and I came for breakfast around 8am and there were a good amount of people there! The french toast was executed perfectly and the berries were naturally sweet! The chicken sausage patties were juicy and flavorful. I can't recall the dish my husband had but he cleaned the plate so that's enough lol. read more

I really liked the food from The Original. We got the short rib benedict and chorizo hash. I'd recommend both of them. They came with also too many potatoes, but is guaranteed to leave you full. We came on a Thursday morning and didn't have to wait to be seated. After ordering, we probably waited about 15-20 minutes for the food to arrive. Food was about $20/meal, which is overpriced in my mind, but pretty typical nowadays. The interior was very cute and eclectic and is located inside the Rally Hotel which is worth exploring if you're dining here. read more

Yelp has led us to yet another win! The Original has 'original' dishes that are just different enough from the same 'ol thing. A few things caught my eye on the menu, but the OG stamp on the mushroom fritatta made my decision for me. It was thinner than anticipated, but not skimpy! Plenty of kale and sun dried tomatoes sitting on a thin layer of eggs with a medley of mushrooms mixed in and a thin layer of gruyer. My husband also enjoyed his meal, which was in the sweet end of the spectrum: creme de la creme - French toast with fresh fruit. I was able to snag a bite and the bread was still intact in the middle, adding a nice bit of chewy structure. Recommend to those who veer to the sweet side of breakfast. We also went for a couple bloodys - Tia Maria for him (tasty and green), the Original bloody for me (also tasty, and a little spicy, accompanied by a picked brussels sprout, okra, green olive, and a slice of yummy bacon). The place was chilly due to all the windows, but not terribly so. Lights that reflected the style of Union Station, which was a nice touch. Service was friendly and prompt. Water without ice was provided without having to request, which was a nice touch. I'd definitely recommend! read more
This spot is perfect for breakfast or lunch, offering a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere in the heart of McGregor Square. The service is excellent, and the vibe is both fun and casual. Their menu features a great selection of breakfast entrées, sandwiches, coffee, and spirits. Everything I tried was fantastic. I went with a classic breakfast, but they also offer plenty of creative and unique dishes. The breakfast potatoes were perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious. Had never been to this little area before and now I know where they hide the ice skating rink! We came in sort of the back way into the restaurant (not through the hotel) and had to make our way up front to the check in desk. We had made a reservation so we were seated quickly towards the back with a view of the center/courtyard kind of thing. A ton of things looked great on the menu - was tricky to narrow things down. I finally ended up with the "OG breakfast" I think it was, with eggs, potatoes, toast and I liked that one protein choice was avocado (instead of bacon/sausage which I'm not a fan of). I thought the platter was great and absolutely loved the little fried/crispy potatoes almost like small, square French fries (though I do like home fries too). My husband got a green chile benedict and said it was great and unfortunately forgot his to-go box on the table. Our server was attentive and friendly, forgot to catch his name. The bathrooms are kind of inconveniently in the hotel and down the hall (a good 1-2 minute walk from our table) but the hotel entry area and main walkway were really attractive and I loved the weird perpetual motion ball machine thing in the hallway. Convenience, great food, and awesome service. What else is there to ask for? whenever I'm in Denver for a work trip, this is my go-to spot with coworkers when we have breakfast before heading into the office. It's a nice and cozy place that slowly wakes you and gets you ready for the day. I've never had a problem with the food or the staff, and every visit has been enjoyable. I've shared dishes with friends, and they were really good. You can't go wrong here! read more

We were happy with our experience eating at The Original! There was no wait the Thursday morning (10:30 AM) we went, even though we still had made a reservation in advance. I got the Chicken and Biscuits which were really good, but I would have preferred more gravy covering the dish and biscuits that aren't soft and spongey but have a little more density to them. The Funnel Cake Fries are not only delicious but also genius! My fiancé loved his Short Rib Benedict and thought the home fries were high quality. A glass of OJ or other juice is $4 which I think is a bit steep for just juice but it's not the end of the world. read more
I came here to have breakfast with Crystal for the first time last week! I felt it was a really solid experience! The people here were very friendly and were so quick to make sure we had a seat and took very good care of us. Crystal got a coffee and said it was hot and great cup of joe! I had a juice and we shared a couple plates of food which included the potatoes, French toast with fruit , we also got this dish that I can't remember the name of it but it was biscuits gravy eggs on top and this kind of sweet and spicy sauce with it and it was so delicious. All cooked perfectly with lots of flavor but not overpowering. We finished everything because it was so good but we left with full bellies! Crystal and I like to walk a lot of places so it's great that this is so close to Union Station a short walk away so excellent location wise for us!
