Had yet to try this place and met a friend for brunch. It's right near ballpark, Mac Gregor square so parking can be a pain but I got lucky and found some meter parking down the street. They have an extensive menu of drinks, lunch options and breakfast items. Their sandwiches looked great but I was in the mood for brunch. I got the Chicken and Biscuits which was a fried battered thigh on top biscuit with a hot honey drizzle and 2 sunny side eggs on top. It usually comes sitting on gravy but I asked for on side because I don't want my biscuit being soggy. My friend got the Southwest salad which also looked good. We stopped by The OG on our way out of Denver. We were running late and called ahead to let them know. They were able to still honor our reservation with a packed restaurant, so we were very appreciative. All of the staff was nice and friendly. We both got the hangover burger (one without bacon) and it was delicious, and the fries were super crispy! My friend also got the breakfast tacos. We shared mimosas by the bottle. We've finally found our FAVORITE breakfast spot in Denver!! The competition is strong but this place did NOT disappoint!! We were a group of 6 and made a Saturday brunch reservation about 3-4 days in advance. Got seated immediately upon arrival and our server was so friendly. This is a great spot for all party sizes from 2-10+. We were definitely not the smallest group and yet there were no service delays, etc. Our server explained the whole menu, we shared quite a few appetizers. The most notable ones being the Cinnamon Croughnuts and the sausage wrapped pancakes (TO DIE FOR). I stumbled upon The Original while staying at The Rally Hotel and decided to give it a try before heading out for the day. There was a bit of a wait (seems like a popular spot), but we lucked out and grabbed seats at the bar--which worked out perfectly! The bartenders were friendly, and quick. My boyfriend ordered the Steak & Egg Ranchero and loved it, especially the chimichurri. Located in McGregor Square near Coors Field, this is probably an awesome place to visit during baseball season with all the action that comes with it (yes I know....that would mean crowds ;-)). So very tasty with a small bowl of hollandaise sauce for dipping. We each got two. For my entree I ordered the creme de la creme French toast. Also so mouth wateringly tasty. Fruit, vanilla creme sauce (there was a fancier name for it), and warm maple syrup, you simply can't go wrong. The atmosphere was fun and casual. I am surprised to see that The Original has such middle of the road reviews. I went this past weekend for brunch and had a good experience. The vibe when you walk in is welcoming and fun. It wasn't outrageously expensive and the service was pretty good. They were busy but our server was still very attentive, my only gripe is that he was a bit slow with the refill of the bottomless mimosas. We got the brioche French toast which I thought was a great balance of soft and sweet center and slightly crispy edges. We also got the green chili poutine which is a poutine I would put up against most other restaurants, it was well balanced and not too much green chili so it turned out the entire dish into a soppy mess.
