Wanted to love it but didn't. The good- coffee-was strong and not watered down . Hash-browns although greasy were perfectly crispy and delicious. Waitress was kind and on it . The bad- Food was underwhelming- just ok. Husband got a frittata with Brussel sprouts on top . I had a Denver redone omelet - felt like it needed more stuff inside it and it didn't have a lot of flavor. Cinnamon roll was decent but only slightly warm almost cold- if warmed up probably would have been better. Don't serve it in a skillet unless it's warm right? This location in downtown Denver opened last year. My previous visit to HashTAG was to their Central Park location in 2018. I made a reservation thru OpenTable just in case. When I arrived at 7am, I was their 3rd customer. Between 730am and 8am, lots of people arrived. My server was Eric E. He was covering the bar, so a 2nd server helped out as more customers arrived. Since they promote being a Boozy Brunch place, I started with a Mimosa flight with cranberry, pineapple, P.O.G. (Passionfruit, OJ, Guava), OJ. Each had a fruit wedge. Great start. I added their Ethiopian dark roast drip coffee with a large Le Creuset mug and plenty of creamer. I wanted a lighter entree, so I got the Avocado Toast. It was a crunchy 7 grain toast with smashed avocado, 2 eggs over medium and a mound of mixed greens on top. Yummy. I got side of marmalade which seemed odd. So I got a biscuit. Perfect size. Big enough to hand hold with a crunchy crust and soft inside. The whipped butter was soft. They use this biscuit along with sourdough for their breakfast sandwiches. The bar will hold 8 people. The dining area has a mix of small & large tables. There are 3 cute round shaped booths near the front. No patio, but a nearby rooftop is available when it's cooler and is also for happy hour. Eric said due to current heatwave, the staff doesn't want to go & down the stairs to the rooftop. They charge a 5% Culinary fee to provide employee benefits. read more

Alohaaaaaa! What a happy surprise to find a breakfast spot in downtown Denver with a Hawaiian flare! They had me at POG! If you don't know what POG is try it! It's a juice served in Hawaii....a refreshing combo of Passionfruit, Orange, and Guava. Typically you don't find it anywhere other than in the islands of Hawaii so my husband and I were both pumped to see it on the menu here! We were equally excited to see some island influence speckled throughout the menu. The menu is vast and has so many fun options that it was hard to choose! I should start with our arrival though, we were immediately greeted with kindness and seated immediately without a reservation and it was New Year's Eve day I will add. The place was busy and it is clean and bright and very inviting. Our server took drink order right away and then gave us time to browse and then came back to take our food order. Service was good throughout even though they were very busy. We landed on the GIANT cinnamon roll to start and then I ordered the pork green chili omelette and my husband ordered the Tijuana Benedict and of course couldn't help himself because there were so many options and had to order the Hawaiian meatloaf to go at the end of our meal to take home for later. I wanted to love the cinnamon roll but it fell short for me. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It was ok. My omelette though was AMAZING! And the pulled pork shoulder is outstanding! The amount of protein in the portion is a dream! Most places would give half the meat, this place packs it in! The omelette was perfection, the flavors were perfect the green chili was great, the portion size was massive and fed me for another meal as well. My husband raved about his Benedict and he also had to take half to go. The Hawaiian meatloaf that was taken to go was a real show stopper! The flavors were incredible! My opinion comes from a pick up point of view- we went in and the ambiance seemed fun. There was a broncos game happening so it seemed busy when we arrived but did not have to wait long for our food to come out. The food was average, the chilaquiles were soggy which may have been due to waiting to eat them at home. The pancakes were good! My only take would be being able to decide which pancakes to get from the trio as we were not fan of the apple. Other than that, the spot seemed solid for some brunch action. I did end up being charged the higher price. My partner ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the portion was huge! Said the maple bacon syrup tasted just like a piece of bacon dipped in maple syrup. Very busy breakfast spot near the heart of the pedestrian zone (16th Street). Had breakfast with my family before starting our busy day exploring Denver. I wasn't too hungry so I decided on the chilaquiles appetizer adding two fried eggs (extra charge). My wife enjoyed the breakfast tacos and my daughter loved her gluten free upside down pancakes with a side of chorizo and fried egg. The restaurant was packed but service was friendly and quick. After my first visit to Hashtag Downtown (Denver) in mid-January 2026, I awarded 5 stars for excellent food, service, ambience. I've returned there twice over the course of six weeks, and I'm downgrading the rating to 2 stars -- by averaging the visits (5, 3, 1 star-ratings) then subtracting 1 star for 'downward trend'. Visit #2 (February 21, 2026): I ordered Old-School Eggs Benedict, a dish that was perfect on my first visit. This time: dismal. Runny eggs (the 'whites' were clear); the ham had never seen a griddle; the English toast was TOUGH, as if it had been microwaved; and the offering had cooled by the time it was served to me. Highlights of Visit #3: * Haughty bartenders. Heaven forbid that a patron (noticing bits of egg, crumbs of toast, drips of sauce on the bartop) should want the surface to be wiped BEFORE a server provides water-carafe and menu. * The bearded front-of-house manager, what a character! Features: A. He doesn't appreciate good reviews ("We get hundreds of 5-star reviews! Why would I care about one from six months ago?"). NOTE: Yelp has 43 reviews for Hashtag Downtown, of which 30% are 4-stars or lower. NOTE: My other review of Hashtag Downtown -- which I showed him -- was written six WEEKS ago, not six MONTHS ago.) B. His treasured bartenders can do no wrong, and he offers no apology if one of them slams off in a huff when a patron has the 'wrong' tone of voice when asking about menu items. C. Get your hearing checked! When a patron specifically requests a high-top table in preference to a bench-seat... don't offer seating in a booth! * Charming and beautiful wait-person with dubious judgement. If a patron orders "just plain French toast, with syrup", and the restaurant has two different kinds of French toast, PLEEEZ don't assume that "plain" means 'bread-pudding style' that is deluged with a glue-y goo referred to as 'icing'. I was expecting the other French-toast on the menu: challah dredged in egg-mixture, then griddled. * The aforementioned bread-pudding style French toast had the consistency of Spam -- a short, dense, fully fused brick. I described it to a chef friend. Cheffie's words: "That's structurally a bread-pudding terrine. Soak a loaf of bread for a long time in an egg-mixture (technically a 'custard'), and the air-cells in the bread completely collapse. Then bake it so that the egg proteins set, locking everything into a single matrix. If you press it down before baking, or it settles under its own weight, or if you bake it in a too-small pan, what you get is a short, dense slab." Hashtag, why would you describe this as French toast? P.S. Aren't local customers regarded as the lifeblood of a restaurant, even in a "tourist town"? Both were tasty and the omelette was well prepared. Portions are not huge. Our servers that helped us were super friendly and fun. I think there are some kinks to be worked out with regard to the rooftop section. While exploring downtown Denver we came across this place. It has a very cute sign that says "home of the boozy brunch" or something along that, that was very aesthetically pleasing. When we came in the hostess sat us right away in what looked like an egg booth. It was a cute restaurant with bright yellows and colors that I liked the look of it. The service was pretty slow but it could be we're used to the vegas standard of hospitality. The spam musubi was delicious! The sauces were amazing and honestly my favorite thing on the menu. It's like tempura style and very good. The French toast sandwich was good but got a little too sweet for my taste. Overall a decent breakfast. Went to hashtag mid March 2026 and the food was great. Will be coming back. The drinks are from cans or bottles which threw me for a loop but the markup isn't insane so I was find with it. Fantastic food! We started with the cinnamon roll skillet split between the three of us. Perfectly soft and warm with a whipped butter that melted as you cut into it. The new harvest hash skillet had a maple chile glaze that was perfectly balanced and not over saturated on the dish. I paired this with a side of ham to add a salty note to the sweetness. We tried the bread pudding French toast and it was exceptional. However, the edges were burnt which detracted from the flavor. Olivia crushed service! She was very kind and personable.
