So my experience at Death & Co was an interesting one. For full transparency, we ended up getting comped a round of drinks, although I don't think that has affected my review. Death & Co is a bar that has been on my list to go to for a very long time. We made our reservation ahead of time, which I would highly recommend you do. I almost didn't do it, but I'm glad I did because it was limited seating still. The inside atmosphere is absolutely amazing elegant, upscale. This is the place to be. We originally sat at a lower table with a large couch and two side chairs. We had a group of six and we fit pretty comfortably. The only error we had was when the waitress was bending down to give us our first round, someone from the table behind bumped her and the tray of drinks went over. Honestly not really her fault and she was very apologetic. It did splash one of my party members, which is why they offered to comp us the drinks and we had to unfortunately move the table because of broken glass. They were fortunately able to get us into another table pretty quickly. It was close to the bar, which wasn't inherently bad. They gave us a fresh round of drinks. The food that came out was all amazing. We ended the meal with their chocolate chip cookies, which were divine. I'm pretty sure they were brown butter chocolate chip cookies because it had that excellent specific flavor you get from browning butter and baking. All in all, this place truly delivers an amazing experience. The wait staff was able to make amazing recommendations on cocktails based on what people's preferences are. The food was truly amazing. I had already been impressed by the Death & Co in NYC, so I knew I had to try their branch in Denver. I was not disappointed. A moody, velvet filled space with a comfortable bar. The thing I like most about Death & Co is the way the categorize their drinks: Light and playful, bright and confident, elegant and timeless, boozy and honest, and rich and comforting. I had the aqua profunda (cognac, St. George basil eau di vie, lillet rose, strawberry, lime, and absinthe). I also had the eight limb daiquiri (rum, Canada aguardiente, Thai tea cordial, lime leaf, and Maraschino). The Blood Oath (mezcal, Vecchio del capo, Calabrian chili amaro, St. Germain Elderflower, lavender, honey, lemon). All were complex and delicious. You could pick out every flavor, yet everything melded together so well. They also have some basic bar food and snacks, but somewhat elevated. I had the D&C Burger and it was juicy, rich, and had some great accompanying fries. I love the LA Death & Co location so had to check this location out while on a quick trip in Denver. The drinks blew us all away as always. My go to is the Disco Tiger which I was very happy to find out they had at this location too! Our server was extremely knowledgeable about every single cocktail on the menu and gave us great recommendations. I give this location a 4 star rating because the food didn't live up to standard of their drinks. The steak tartare and oysters were good. It was a big draw for us to stay at the Ramble because if you stay there, you can make reservations. The drinks didn't disappoint! I started with the Wolf Parade cocktail, with mezcal, cantaloupe, and curry bitters. It was one of the best cocktails I've ever had - each flavor was distinct yet worked so well together. I later had the Redemption Arc cocktail because I was intrigued by the white port but it ended up sweeter than I wanted with more of a one note "alcohol flavor". My friend ordered a cocktail from the "refreshing" section with honey and ginger and it tasted like the bright younger sister of a hot toddy - perfect for a crisp spring day. They offer bar bites and small entrees. We ordered a Frankenstein combination of the bread and the cheese plate as they were out of some items. The bread and cheese were so simple but so freshly made and paired perfectly together. We got to try a sample of their blackberry jam with mustard(?) seeds which was interesting. I topped it off with the cookie order, hold the milk (my tummy) and only 2 of the standard 3 cookies. These were freshly backed and so gooey - why can't all bars offer dessert?! (Don't make that mistake unless your ok with waiting a while) Its super cute inside large space. Beautiful chandeliers, leather couches, with lounge tables, and seating scattered all around. Mood lighting of course. And apparently theres an outside patio as well, but I didn't know about it, so I didn't check it out. The cocktail menu is descriptive enough to help filter your choice. It had a fun vibe. I could easily see people gathering here after a business meeting. Or ending up here after a night on the town. I saw folks on dates, and in larger groups. Service - was good. Our bartender Regean was not afraid to look at her notes when we asked questions about the cocktail choices, which was fine by me. I prefer that, over her making it up. Service is on the slower side (as stated in other reviews), but not completely unreasonable. Drinks - are creative and interesting, with a costly price tag. My drink was $21. Death & Co has a very unique atmosphere when you walk in, whether in the morning or in the evening. This gorgeous space is the lobby of the Ramble Hotel. It always feels a little special walking in, in my opinion. Located in the RiNo/Five Points area, there's a decent amount of nearby activities. With this, street parking is available, depending on the time it can be a little tricky. They have seasonal drinks which bring a nice change for different parts of the year. At the time I went, there was the Wizard in Black. It's a take on an Old-Fashioned with Banana liqueur and cold brew. It was good for an Old-Fashioned, strong but not overpowering. The Bloody Mary was also fantastic, loved the seasoned rim. I believe they had a Frittata at the time as well. And it was a little small for the price, but good. On another visit, I shared a Crudité with my friend. It was a decent amount of vegetables and the dip was decent. Death & Co offers two great ambiences for day and night. A bright and chill environment for brunch and a low light, almost romantic air for evening drinks. The morning service is order-at-the-counter, while the evening has standard table service.
